Heyyy!! I’ve been on the DL for a while now. Been insanely busy with the kiddos, I have a 5 month and 2 year old. Skin looking great even tho I haven’t been feeling all that great myself. I have tagged all the products I’ve been using strictly for the past 3 weeks. Top 2020 Skincare: Moisutrizer
I saw this happening on Insta and thought it would be fun to participate on Cherie! All month I’ll be posting my top 2020 skincare essentials in accordance to the schedule on the 2nd pic, so follow me if you want to see all my faves of this year! Up next- MOISTURIZER! 💛Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream I talk about this cream a lot, but that’s because it’s played a huge role in repairing my barrier and reducing my irritable skin’s sensitivity. It’s thick, has ceramides and shea butter, and is packed with herbal antioxidants that lend to the wonderfully calming scent. While this is a great cream for normal to dry skin, I am also acne-prone and it does not clog up my T zone or make me oily. This winter, I have been using it day and night! The only issue is that with the cooler weather, it has not totally stopped my cheeks from getting dry overnight, so I’ve been layering a bit of Aquaphor over those areas for extra occlusion. It’s also not cheap, but I’m willing to pay for a well-rounded moisturizer since I rarely use serums.

This is worth the hype
Yesterday I tried the Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 and as you can see my skin is literally glowing! I applied it after my AM routine, and the results make me love it and it’s a staple in my routine when I’m going out (ofc the only part I’ll show is my forehead due the mask) but the glow is real 💖

Why I purchase gift sets
When looking to purchase more product or even give a new product a try, I always look at sets/kits first. Usually, you can find an offer that is the same as you were planning to spend and typically you’ll get some free minis or another full price product to try. I choose these two examples as they were two I recently picked up. I’ve been a longtime user of the CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Radiance Serum The Brightening Solution and the serum alone costs $79 for 1 oz When you purchase the CAUDALIE - Vinoperfect Instant Brightening Cults Set you receive the same full-size serum PLUS 2 more products to try. For me, it’s a no-brainer. I’ve always purchased the serum in the set for this very reason ⭐️ My daughter really likes the Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 $52 for 1.7 oz / and during the Sephora sale they were out of stock. So I searched for a kit and came across Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Soothing Hydration Set that had the full-size product she wanted PLUS 3 more products for her to try for only an additional $5 TOTAL = $57 So again for me, it was an easy choice. I also scored a great deal with the Black Friday sales and purchased Farmacy’s Ultimate Best Sellers Kit (no longer available) as I needed more Honeymoon Glow and Cheer Up. • The kit included Honeymoon Glow, Cheer Up, Daily Greens, & Green Clean. • The entire kit, with discounts, ended up $84. • If purchased alone, the Honeymoon Glow & Cheer Up would have cost, with discount, $72 • This by far was my biggest savings!!! ⭐️ Don’t be afraid to shop kits! Especially during sales! Those are when you can score some of the best deals! And if you have a product in the kit you know you won’t use, you can always gift it to a friend. ❤️🍒

Tiger Grass Cream = Ultimate Healer
This cream is perfect to use post-peel, because it is incredibly soothing to the skin and immediately takes all redness away. I gave this four stars for me, but redness in the skin is not something I struggle with, BUT for my ladies with rosacea BUY THIS!! I have seen results on my very very few and faint red red spots and have heard from several friends that struggle with redness that is stuff works great. As a bonus, when I’m done rubbing the cream into my face, I use the leftover cream on my hands for my cuticles, which heal up over night with this stuff. A great buy and not too overpriced. Acne-Fighting Awards🔥
Kiehl’s Super Multi-Corrective Cream Kiehl's - Super Multi-Corrective Cream SPF 30 I have used up one of this product. This is the second. It can be used for day and night, after toner and serum. I am dry skin so it is very suitable to me. The paste is thick, but the dry skin is easy to absorb, and it is not greasy after absorption. However, this cream is not suitable for desert dry skin. My face is too dry due to acid brushing in the past time. It's very painful to use this cream, my skin cannot absorb and will rub mud. But I can feel the repairing effect in the first using week. During this period, it helps my acne marks fade. This product contains Pro-Xylane, which can effectively prevent water loss and reduce wrinkles. So the cost performance is good. Tips: it will be oily when you first apply it, I recommend you guys only to use it at night as the last step of skin care. The next day the skin is very soft and comfortable. Origins Mega-Mushroom relief & resilience ORIGINS - Dr. Andrew Weil For Mega-Mushroom Relief & Resilience Soothing Treatment Lotion Limited Edition This product is specially for acne, pimples and sensitive skin. However, the ingredient is too nutritious, which will result in over-nourishment to your skin. Whatever for any kinds of skin care products, they only work on the surface of the skin. If it is too sticky, it will cause too much oil to block pores, and eventually produce acne and pimples. This lotion has a thick texture and medium moisturizing ability. Because the high nutritional ingredient, you have to not use other skin care products. One time after applying this lotion, I also use another cream with serum…then…I got new breakouts. Dr.Jart Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Cream The main ingredient of this cream is CICA centella extract. Its main effect is to relieve damaged skin and improve acne sensitive skin. However, this product contains many fragrances and essential oils, I do not recommend sensitive skiners to use. In fact, I didn't get any effective improvement after one month use. The only attractive place is the light grass smell. All three have their own advantages and disadvantages. If I have to choose one that I think is the most effective, it's Kiehl’s. Pay more attention to moisturizing before applying it. If your skin is too dry, do not use it.

FAV TONER OF 2020: DR JART CERAMIDIN LIQUID
my fav toner discovery this year was the Dr Jart Ceramidin Liquid. I've been using this toner for a solid 7 months and it's become one of my holy grail skincare products :') i was surprised by how much i liked this product because prior to this toner, i never saw toner as an integral step in my skincare routine. however, after trying a mini sample of this, i immediately purchased a full size because of the difference i saw in my skin this toner has a lightweight, viscous and almost silky texture that absorbs quickly. it doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky or greasy but is very hydrating. it's made up of 5-Cera Complex, which is a patented blend of ceramides. it's a toner that i think all skin types would be able to benefit from, including those with acne-prone, combo skin like me. I think that those with redness, flakiness, or very dry skin would heavily benefit from this. after trying a few methods, I find that this applies best with the fingertips on damp skin whenever I use this, my skin feels more supple and looks less dull. I also found that I wasn't needing to apply as much of my serums or moisturizers whenever I incorporated this step. I think the biggest change I saw was how much this toner saved my skin whenever my skin barrier was damaged or whenever I was breaking out. especially if paired with the Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream, I noticed my skin would heal much faster from irritation and breakouts. this toner was actually the first indicator to me that instead of drying out my pimples, I should add hydration instead. whenever my skin is going through it, I immediately reach for this & it speeds up my healing time significantly while does retail at $39 for 150 ml, I find that a little does go a long way. it's lasted me months and has changed my complexion and the way the rest of my skincare products apply which is why I consider this one of my HG products. if i didn't already have other toners waiting on my skincare shelf, i absolutely 100% repurchase this in a heartbeat! my three favorite serums 🧺
My skin type: combo, acne prone, sensitive, rosacea My skin concerns: acne, dark spots, dryness, hyperpigmentation, redness CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum + perfect for oily skin types, this serum controls sebum production! + I use it whenever my acne is getting out of my hand (or maskne), and it usually cleans my pores out better than other similar serums. Best for me in the mornings, always followed by spf. + makes my pores appear less noticeable (you can’t really shrink them like the claims suggest but they do look “better”) + I love the glass bottle! Easily recyclable and feels luxe. + smells fresh and clean + ingredients: salicylic acid, grape seed, essential oils (important to note cause you could be allergic or sensitive) + $49, not great, but lasts me forever Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Liquid + marketed as a moisturizing toner, but is very thick to be a toner + I use in the am or pm, after tonight and before actives and my moisturizer. + smells a little funky, like herbal-ly but like tea? + moisturizes and hydrates very well, but takes a while to sink in. + repairs my moisture barrier pretty fast, the ceramides really work hard and fast. + makes my skin supple and bouncy + ingredients: ceramide complex, fig, cica, and phyto extracts + $39 for 5oz which is INSANE for how long this has lasted me (about a year with use every other day or so) AUGUST & LEO SKIN - CC Glow Serum + vitamin c serum by a brand owned by a Black woman! + not sticky, but I really was sure it would be. I am surprised every time I try it. It sinks in fast, too. + smells like those orange wedge candies! I thought the fragrance would be irritating but it’s not. + doesn’t pill, works well with my other products. + I use it in my PM routine only. + helps fade my dark spots faster than they would face on their own! + ingredients: vitc is made from 5% sodium ascorbyl phosphate, German chamomile and hyaluronic acid are also included. + $62 is maybe not worth it, but I have seen good results so far. #CheriePartner

Nice, but No 👎🏽
I picked this up mask pack up at TJ Maxx the other day because it said it could help with skin barrier and my skin just hasn’t been at it’s best that last few weeks. Honestly I liked this mask more than I thought I would. I’m usually not one for masks because I detest having to wait 20-30 minutes to take it off and not being able to do really anything while it’s on. However my face felt so hydrated and bouncy after using this. Now, this mask does have a heap ton of fragrance ingredients. So if that is an issue for you I’d stay clear. I don’t personally mind fragrance ingredients if the company tells me what exactly those ingredients are since it’s only certain fruits I’m sensitive to. This mask also has some really great ingredients too. Including Panthenol, Aloe Ver Leaf Juice, Various Ferments, Hyaluronic Acid, and Various Ceramides. I personally love these good ingredients more than I dislike the fragrance. However, this product does contain coconut oil which can be pore clogging. For me I broke out along my jawline big time every time I used this. Since it wasn’t everywhere I can’t say for sure what caused the breakout. So based on what I personally experienced and the loads of fragrance I just can’t recommend this. While it does have good ingredients the breakouts it gave me weren’t worth it. Try at your own risk!

Night Time Routine!
This is the routine I use when I want my skin to GLOW! I first cleanse with the TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser and then the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser . This was my last use of that cleanser and I won’t be repurchasing (see my other post for why). On this night I then used the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Facial Mask which I have fallen IN LOVE with. I got the whole “Ceremide” line in a holiday set and it’s bomb! Next was The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane , I’ve just started using this retinol but it’s a hit, I use it 2-3 times a week. After I use the Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream which has been amazing for my dry skin. I had a couple blemishes so my last step was the Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment which I’m also in love with. Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great night!☺️

Are Dr Jart Tiger Drops as good as people say?
When it comes to tackling redness, Dr. Jart’s Cicapair Line has become everyone’s go-to. I decided to try the brand’s Tiger Grass Camo Drops SPF 44, which doubles as a serum and color corrector to “soothe the look of redness and turns on skin's glow,” according to Dr. Jart. More about the product: Dr. Jart's ultra-lightweight revitalizing serum uses advanced technology with centella asiatica extract to help soothe the look of irritated skin that has been sensitized by makeup application and external stressors. An antioxidant green-energy complex, including chlorophyll, nurtures skin and protects from environmental damage with SPF 44. What’s inside: - Centella Asiatica Complex: Comforts and supports sensitized skin. - Herbs Complex and Minerals Solution: Strengthen skin and relieve stresses. - Green Energy Complex: Energizes and supports fatigued skin. My review: I’m someone that suffers from mild rosacea and has always been redness-prone. I must admit, I was expecting this product to completely erase all signs of redness from my T-zone, but that’s not the case here. It’s more-so a product to neutralize and tone down redness. So while it may help you achieve a more even complexion, it won’t erase your redness/unevenness. Texture wise, it’s a lovely lightweight serum and it blends so nicely into the skin, giving it a soft matte finish while still allowing your skin’s natural dewiness and texture to shine through. It also works well with makeup, and if you’re looking for more coverage, I recommend adding a little dab of concealer or foundation to the areas that you want to even out. Disappointment aside, I really like this for a color corrector and have been using it on no makeup days for some SPF and to tone down my T-zone. Has anyone else tried Dr. Jart’s Tiger Grass Camo Drops? I’d love to hear your thoughts/tips!

Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops
If you are looking to neutralize red skin, you should try the Cicapair Tiger Grass Camo Drops. I use this as a makeup base after I apply my moisturizer - it’s very lightweight. It’s amazing how the drops instantly neutralize redness, and give your skin a glow. I also think my face looks looks less tired with this product. How it works: The serum and color corrector hybrid relieves redness upon contact and also camouflages its appearance at the same time. Its water-like formula gets its green hue from ingredients like centella asiatica and chlorophyll. But don't worry, it turns to beige as it makes contact with skin to neutralize and revitalize, so your complexion looks more even-toned and glowier too.

Pretty and Lazy? Or both!!
First, thank you to the 100 @cherieusers that are following me so far 💙 Next, makeup-free beauty advice for the WILDLY LAZY! 1. Minimize ☀️ damage. And don’t smoke. Sun damage gives you spots crepey/leathery skin later in life and smoking gives you pucker lines, dry/saggy skin, and brittle hair. Apply sunscreen daily to your neck, chest, backs of your hands just like you do your face.. I didn’t and those are the areas where my skin will give away my age! I’m still total crap at remembering sunscreen on my face every day. When I was younger I was always afraid sunblock on my face would cause acne so I NEVER used it. To be fair they didn’t really have oil-free or face specific sunblock when I was in my teens or 20’s and I grew up in the days where broiling yourself in the ☀️ covered in baby oil was normal. If you are like me and have the attention span/memory of a 🐿, and can’t remember one more thing each day - at the VERY LEAST buy skincare/makeup with sunscreen already in them, get bronze with sunless tanner (I love Tanwise at Sally’s it’s a great MineTan dupe), then wear cute hats. Wear allllll the hats!!! 🧢👒 2. Get enough 💤 & use that time to treat your skin. If you stick to just one part of your routine - make it your PM routine so alllll that good stuff can just soak into your skin overnight. If you are exhausted & all you can do is face wipes then so be it. Try to actually wash the gunk off the majority of nights. But also, 😴 on a clean pillowcase! This is hella lazy. Pillowcases are cheap. Buy half a dozen of them. We are all out here spending $$$ on eye shadow palettes, pillowcases are like $3. Put a weeks worth of clean pillowcases on your pillow at the beginning of the week. Then peel one off each night. Your skin will thank you 👍🏼 3. Be kind to your skin. Don’t pull, pick, or tug at your skin. If you have to push your makeup into your skin it probably isn’t the right formula. Apply creams and lotions gently. Pat them on. Use your pinky or ring finger around your 👁& if your skin freaks out for a minute, just remember it’s only temporary! You are so much more than a breakout. Find that thing that you slay at - Winged liner? Lashes? A bold lip? and rock that. Throw on sunglasses. If you have a breakout one day don’t just toss your whole routine in the trash and immediately introduce a whole new set of things for your skin to deal with. And if things just aren’t working - big a$$ 🕶 (which also keep you from squinting which will cause crows feet!) and a confident 😁 will distract from whatever skin insecurities you are feeling. If you aren’t letting your skin bother you, it’s likely that no one else will notice! Here’s your excuse to buy great sunglasses! Be gentle and kind to your skin. And yourself. Somewhere out there there someone looks at you and thinks “Damn, that’s the most beautiful person in the universe” - even if you don’t always see it! 💙

Sample to Full Size - This Korean BB Nails it
This is my new favorite foundation for this season. First got it as a sample from Sephora, and just wen for a full size the following week. This is a Korean brand sold in Sephora. Dr. Jart+ - Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 I also find this BB has a slightly luminous finish that makes my skin look so fresh and lovely. My skin looks so flawless and it covers all my dark spots. This brand is pretty new to me. I started using it around a month ago. It wears flawlessly throughout the day. This is light, moisturizing coverage with the extra bonus of being SPF 45! It has a slight grey tone to it, but it’s surprisingly very flattering and blurs out the skin beautifully. I would say this foundation provides a light but build-able to medium coverage. It's almost a demi-matte finish? This is a medium coverage foundation. It really has made me skin glow and not in the sense of it’s a glowy, satin like foundation. It is also lightweight but still has medium buildable coverage. The formula is really nice. It’s thin as is feels breathable but still provides I would say ,medium coverage that is definitely buildable. It’s one of those “your skin but better” foundations. It doesn’t cling to dry patches. Depending on how you apply the foundation, it could be light to medium. This bb cream has a natural, skin like finish and can be used with your hands, a brush or a sponge to create a beautiful finish. I really like the formula, it t has hyaluronic acid to help retain moisture. It blends beautifully whether you’re using cream or powder products It’s non comedogenic so it won’t clog your pores or make your skin break out. If you have oil prone skin you may have to blot throughout the day and I can't for sure say you would probably love it because l'm not currently super oily, but if you're dry-normal-or just oily in the t-zone like I usually am, l'd recommend it Cons I would want them to make more shades. Not pricey it’s The packaging is really nice and classy. I would recommend this to all my dewy friends

Tiger Grass Calming Mist 😐
Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist Are mist really necessarily for the face? Nope! It’s a luxury step. Honestly this product didn’t do anything for my face. Absolutely nothing !!! The only thing that I like about this is the scent and the fine mist that spray onto the face. Other than that there is nothing too major. Apparently it’s suppose to help with redness and hydrate but there are no results. Dr.Jart never disappoints but with this mist it was mediocre. I come to realize that mists is a waste of money and does not work in my opinion.

Restarting my Acne Journey
Hi all! This is a little vulnerable for me: I usually never post or go outside without at least a bit of makeup. BUT! I’m restarting my efforts to fix my acne with a new routine, and I know there’s a lot of people who struggle with this. So, here’s my face! I’ve been using DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel for two weeks now and the purging is starting, so hopefully this is the worst it will get. I’m hoping with continued use to see some progress and to track it here! I have experienced stinging and some severe sensitivity while my skin gets used to it, but after two weeks the stinging is dying down. I’ve been dealing with hormonal/cystic acne for 10 years now, and believe it or not this is the best it’s been in years. I’ve slowly figured out what works for me, and wanted to share those tips. BUT, if I’ve learned anything in the past ten years about acne it’s that you need to listen to your own face: even if 1000% swear by something, if it doesn’t work for you, it doesn’t work for you. I have super oily skin, so if you have dry or combo, the listed routine will most likely not work. But for my oily pals, here’s the routine that’s improved my skin so far: Morning: FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser I love how calming and non-stripping this cleanser is, but it still manages to reduce my oil FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry to target acne scarring Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 to protect from sun damage and irritation. I HAVE TO use a gel formula for moisturizers/sunscreens, or else I break out like crazy. That’s the number one issue I’ve figured out with my face. This one has a nice gel cream texture and is lightly moisturizing, but doesn’t turn me into an oil slick. Night: First cleanse/makeup removal with GOOD MOLECULES - Instant Cleansing Balm Second cleanse with FARMACY - Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser Apply pea sized drop of DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel If my skin is feeling good and non-irritated, I use LANEIGE - Special Care Water Sleeping Mask for just a bit of moisture overnight If my skin is feeling irritated/tight, I’ll use GOOD MOLECULES - Squalane Oil for a heavier hit of moisture. If my skin is REALLY irritated, I follow with Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist to try and calm my skin down So here we go! Hoping to see some improvements next month. Trying my best to be patient and consistent this time, which is the hardest but most important part. Thanks for reading, and good luck on your acne journey! #CherieCreator #acne #pimples #acnecare #cysticacne #hormonalacne

Disappointed | Dr. Jart Ciciapair Tiger Grass
The Dr. Jart Ciciapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment was disappointing! It made my face break out and greasy. I do think it covered the the redness however at a price for more redness in the form of pimples. I will not be purchasing this again. I have the trial size that I got for free from Sephora using my points, the .5 oz is $18 and the 1.5 oz is $52 at Sephora. Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30
