Dr. Jart ceramidin and tiger grass creams
I’m a longtime skincare fanatic who’s only recently gotten into Asian beauty products. Some of the first ones I tried were from Dr. Jart, including the tiger grass color correcting treatment, which is one of my faves (scroll back for a review I did a while back!) I’ve seen these creams all over the place, so I finally gave in and decided to try them myself. I was about to need a new daytime moisturizer anyway, and since I’ll be bumping up to a higher percentage of tretinoin soon, I also wanted a thicker nighttime cream. These two have some distinct differences, but so far I’m loving both of them! The ceramidin cream is hyped up to be a miracle for dry skin, given its five ceramide complex and other ingredients like hyaluronic acid and beetroot extract. It also contains a good amount of shea butter. It also contains less than 1% of synthetic fragrance, though it has multiple essential oils. It’s not vegan or cruelty free, however (unless I’m wrong? someone please tell me I’m wrong). On the other hand, the tiger grass cream has centella asiatica extracts and Dr. Jart’s Jartbiome, a “microbiome complex.” It also has shea butter pretty high up on the ingredients list, and there are multiple essential oils, which can be irritating for some. Tiger grass is one of the best ingredients for reducing redness. I don’t think this cream is cruelty free or vegan, either. As you can see in the second picture, both are thick creams, though I would say the ceramidin (which is the one on top) is a bit thicker. Both spread very easily and honestly, they feel amazing on my skin. The ceramidin does feel heavy, but I got it for that reason because I live in New York and use a lot of products that will dry me out if I’m not careful. I use it as my last step at night, and it feels like it seals in all my other products. It does have a distinct scent, which I’m indifferent to, but I know it can be off-putting for some. The tiger grass cream has a light herbal smell—kinda similar to the color correcting cream—and it feels light enough that I’ve been loving it as my daytime moisturizer. It also mixes well with a few drops of oil, which I love adding in. Neither has broken me out (thank goodness!) because these cost a pretty penny. Long story short: While I love both, I definitely prefer the ceramidin as a nighttime moisturizer. The tiger grass cream is wonderful, but if I’m being honest with myself, I don’t really need the redness relief because redness isn’t my main skin concern. I could probably survive with just the color correcting treatment, if you made me choose. Both creams cost $48 each for 1.69oz, which is a good amount of product. However, I would suggest getting a sample size—Dr. Jart has some great sets with minis of different products—before committing to the full size.

Dr jart
This is a moisturizer to relive dry itchy skin. It is targeted to help reduce inflammation and redness in the skin. I bought this after my skin freaked out because of the cold winter air and I am so happy I did. I have had this for 2 weeks and so far it has made such a difference in my skin. I even notice that the redness in my acne scars has reduced. It has a thick cream consistency that can take a while to sink in completely. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone with overly dry skin and those with redness on their face too. It has helped me out a lot and a I will definitely repurchase. The tube itself is $48 and so worth it. This is my other five star moisturizer for winter.Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream

Let’s talk K-Beauty
I bought Dr. Jart Tiger Grass Serum because I suffer from mild rosácea and this serum claims to treat sensitive skin with Jartbiome, soothing Centella Rx, and cicabond. The texture is a light weight serum. ($46) And as much as I was hoping it would help my skin it kind of made it worse. My skin is super sensitive and lately I’ve been learning more about what works for me and what doesn’t. And I’m starting to realize a lot of products dont work for me. When I began to use this product I noticed my skin would actually get more red than it was before. And at first I didn’t pay much attention I kind of just thought it will go away after a few minutes but It never did. I’m super disappointed because I thought this would be a good product that works for me but It’s been hard looking for products that are gonna work for my sensitive skin. I’ve noticed it’s worked for many others but I think that’s just with people who have normal to combo skin not sensitive skin. My skin reacts to anything so I always have to be careful with what I use. If you have really sensitive skin like I do I wouldn’t recommend it. I think whats causing this serum to make me more red is the oils that it contains. Bummer. 🥴 Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum

Dr Jart has to be my favorite K Beauty brand! I especially have been loving the Cicapair line! I reviewed the Tiger Grass Camo Drops, and the Tiger Grass Serum is also amazing. This serum is used to soothe and treat sensitive skin. My skin is so sensitive in the winter months and this serum helps so much. I love that it’s lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin. It’s a great, hydrating serum. This retails for $46 and I would definitely repurchase!

Mixed feelings
Mixed Review on @drjart tiger grass camp drops I bought these with a @sephora giftcard because I’ve heard great things about the brand, cica as an ingredient, and specifically the product itself. I tested it in store and liked how the product turns from green to beige upon oxidation. Pros: This product is non-irritating and I can tell both an immediate and lasting effect on my redness. The beige coloring helps immediately to cover baseline redness and I can tell that it also soothes my skin to keep me from getting redder. I also love that it has SPF so if I don’t have many blemishes I will use this as a last step. Cons: I don’t know if I got a wonky bottle but from first use I’ve had trouble getting enough product in the applicator. It constantly feels like I’m scraping the bottle to get some out. Because of that I’m frustrated because this product is not cheap ($46/ 1oz). I also feel that it’s kinda thick so I wonder if it will clog my pores/slide off my face with layering products or in the heat (neither or which I’ve really tried). Finally, this product works for my pale skin tone but I wonder about anyone with a bit more melanin. To my knowledge there is only one formulation so I can’t imagine it works for all. FINAL THOUGHTS: This product does what it says it will. I like it but I don’t love it. I will be looking for alternatives before I repurchase. What products do you use to calm/mask redness during the day?

#NOMAKEUPMAKEUP - Two of my favorite “No Makeup, Makeup Products” for flawless skin this summer have been this duo from Dr Jart+. To reduce redness and give a natural blur effect I like to mix a few drops of the Cicapair™ Tiger Grass Camo Drops (an ultra-lightweight revitalizing serum and color corrector in one) with the lightweight, perfect for summer V7™ Priming Moisturizer (a multi-tasking, vitamin-infused priming moisturizer that visibly evens out the complexion and noticeably blurs the look of pores and imperfections). You can either stop here and move on to your SPF or for a bit more of a finished look layer with your BB/CC cream of choice. The priming aspect allows for a flawless and super natural application that stays put! While I am a fan of the V7™ Priming Moisturizer under makeup, I HIGHLY recommend the Camo Drops to ANYONE that is prone to redness or has easily sensitized skin. It contains Centella Asiatica Extract which helps to soothe irritated skin sensitized by makeup application and external stressors, as well as an antioxidant Green Energy Complex, including Chlorophyll, that energizes fatigued skin and protects from environmental damage. This green-to-beige serum/camouflage formula corrects redness and revitalizes dull skin tone as its soft, watery texture quickly penetrates skin’s surface to ignite your complexion. Skin appears to glow from within! Not pictured but also a fave is the Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment w/ SPF30. Good sheet mask
The dr jart+ ceramidin facial mask is a deeply hydrating sheet mask. It is best for dry and dehydrated skin, and targets dryness while providing intensive moisturization and creating a moisture shield. It delivers deep hydration with ingredients such as ceramides and oils. It has a lightweight serum infused in a sheet mask. I got this in during a Sephora sale last month. I like this product! It absorbs very well and leaves skin very soft and deeply hydrated. It feels cooling and the serum sinks into skin upon application. I would recommend this is to all skin types during the winter as it is a great quick hydration boost. It is extremely hydrating and I love how my skin looks and feels after using it. This is definitely worth it if you have very dry skin or in need of a boost of moisture. If your skin is very dry, this will be your holy grail sheet mask. The only downsides that it is pretty expensive, so it is not complete reasonable to buy often unless you have really dry skin. It is definitely a treat yourself kind of product. KBeauty Sheet Masks 🖤
Let’s be honest, we all love a good mask. Whether the mask peels off, exfoliates, or sits overnight on our skin the purpose is to enhance our skincare routines. Lately I’ve been using more sheet masks and recent additions to my collection include the Dr. Jart Ceramidin Mask (retail: $6), Peach & Lily Original Glow Mask (retail: $6), and Peach & Lily Shrink Pores mask (retail: $2.49). First, I love that these single use masks are inexpensive. Second, I thoroughly enjoyed the brightening, balancing, and hydrating effects that each mask provided. KBeauty truly sets the standard for skincare effectiveness and quality, and I would recommend you all add a little kbeauty to your routines✨

I don’t wear make up all the time because I work from home but when I do I prefer a natural finish that does not sink in and accentuate fine lines. The DR. JART+ Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45 is my go-to for a natural look during the day! It’s hydrating and has color adapting properties that suit my skin tone perfectly while also being very natural and still allowing my skin to show through. For reference I use the light to medium shade. A cult-favorite all-in-one beauty balm perfects the complexion with a powerful anti-aging complex while shielding skin from UV damage and is a product that I frequently recommend for all ages and skin types. At $39 it’s not exactly drugstore pricing but also still very fair compared to a lot of the other foundations in the market. Dr. Jart+ - Premium Beauty Balm SPF 45

Doing a bit of a shop my stash and discovered a couple of goodies. The mac palette is on a did years ago before all the palette releases that are come out left right and centre. It’s got a whole heap of matte-satin neutrals that I use to use for the office. Still love it today and so easy to use. Colours from top to bottom: Vanilla, Blanc Type, Brule, Bamboo, Kid, Omega, Soba, Coquette, Charcoal Brown, Concrete, Espresso, Mystery, Coruroy, Embark and Smut. I been getting into my perfumes lately and looked at my stash and found my chanel Coco. I love this scent but can’t wear it, unless it has dried now on my for about 2 hours then I get the soft projection I want. It’s a powerful beautiful scent and reminds me of the 80’s early 90’s. love it but not an everyday perfume for me. dior Diorific Mat 360 Elegante is such a pretty colour I picked it up last year and forgot about it!! drjart Premium Beauty Balm. Ok this Bb cream is amazing, it gives me the nicest skin with light coverage, I love it and have used it everyday this week. It does contain silicone etc, my skin tolerated them and it’s what gives you a smooth poreless finish. I also picked this book up from a second hand book store and wanted to feature it, it has some great fashion photography. Cindy screamed 80’s 90’s to me. Might feature some other pics next time.

🌷K-Beauty Skincare Product 🌷
🐯THE PRODUCT🐯 The Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Gel Cream is marketed as an ultra-light hydrating gel cream for oily and combination skin. Dr. Jart is one of the most popular K-Beauty brands in the U.S. This is one of their newer releases and an addition to the revamped Cicapair line! It is targeted at skincare concerns including dryness and redness. It has centella asiatic (tiger grass) to soothe sensitivity as well. It provides lightweight hydration and moisture to irritated or sensitive skin. The texture of this product is a very thin, spreadable gel. It is a pale green color as shown on this cute bag! This bag is from the Cica Rescue Kit. Cica is another name for tiger grass! 🍃MY HONEST OPINION🍃 I wanted to try this because I had first tried the Color Correcting Treatment from this brand, and I thought it was way too thick on my skin, but I loved the idea of tiger grass in skincare. So I tried out this gel cream out and LOVED IT! I’ve been using this for about 6 months. I love this product and always reach for it when my skin feels super sensitive. It allows my skin to breathe while helping to soothe it. This is great for AM and PM use for my skin. I prefer this thin texture to the original Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream. I would definitely recommend this to others who struggle with irritated or sensitive skin. It helps calm redness on the skin, and it smells super refreshing but light. I’m so happy that I have minis to travel with!! It retails for $48 for 50 mL of product which I think is worth the price, but I also think that it is expensive for a more niche moisturizer that I don’t use daily. I just use this when my skin is in need of extra soothing rather than my everyday moisturizer. As far as time/effort, it applies like any other cream so it is quick and easy. It layers really nice over serums and under an oil if you want! I give this a 4/5 ⭐️ rating. I love everything about this gel cream, besides the price, and I wish that Dr. Jart was a cruelty-free skincare brand.

Please try it and you will do your skin a favor! It’s worth the price, also it will last long enough.

A few go-to cleansers
A few go-to cleansers
Dr. Jart+ - Peel Better Cleanser 🔹This cleanser is has a jelly texture to it, but when applied to the skin it turns into an oil that is great for removing makeup and dirt! This cleanser tends to leave my skin feeling like it has a layer of oil on it after rinsing, but after applying toner my skin always feel soft and smooth TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser 🔹This guy will be one of my forever go-to cleansers. It always leaves my skin feeling clean, smooth, and fresh but never strips my face of its natural oils. Kate Somerville - Detox Daily Cleanser 🔹I found this cleanser at Tj Maxx originally and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of it for the price I paid. The cleanser smells light and fresh and when used with my Clarisonic brush it always feels like it gives my skin a deep clean.

Ingredient Spotlight: Cica/Centella Asiatica
Ingredient Spotlight: Cica/Centella Asiatica
Hi guys! Today I’m gonna be Spotlighting the ingredient cica or centella asiatica. The products I’ve chosen to review for you with cica are LANEIGE - Cica Sleeping Mask , Benton - Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack, 10 Masks, 0.81 oz (23 g) Each , and the Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Calming Mist ! What is Centella Asiatica? It’s an herb that is grown primarily in Asia, with multiple uses, including medicine and cooking. However, it’s commonly used in skincare for its healing and soothing benefits. It contains active compounds that show antioxidant benefits and soothes upset skin. Some people liken it to green tea! — Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask: this has been legit the perfect addition to my night routine. You’re apparently supposed to use it 1-2 times a week but I can’t stop myself from using it at least four times a week. It’s soft and creamy, and just a tad thicker than their water sleeping masks. It’s hydrating and neutralizes my redness like NO BIZ. I struggle with rosacea hardcore and this calms my skin down from any kind of irritation or reaction. The cica in it is clearly the powerhouse, and the cream is rich but never streaky. I wake up with refreshed and calmed skin, and no residue. It’s $34, but it has lasted me a while and I already have a backup. — Benton Centella Mask: not my favorite cica product, but it’s not bad at all! It’s $2.80/mask, which is a great price to me. This surprisingly soothes my breakouts and acne the most, and doesn’t irritate any skin. However, I think they make a serum that is this mask in serum form, and I would much rather have that! Sheet masks seem kind of wasteful and useless to me, since I could get the same benefits from a serum. This mask is good, though, and if you struggle with irritated red breakouts, this would probably help you! — Dr. Jart Cicapair Mist: I guess this is my favorite of the three! I use this at all times of the day, morning to night, after makeup, before makeup, to refresh my skin midday, you name it! It’s truly a do it all mist. This soothes and calms my skin instantly and I can see the redness fade away as it hydrates and helps my skin. It’s great to use when I have a reaction to a product, or my face is red from anxiety or rosacea! I would totally repurchase this, as it only costs $23.

It’s not a secret that I adore
It’s not a secret that I adore Dr. Jart products. My skin has some redness that just Will Not Quit and sometimes im not in the mood to really commit to wearing makeup but don’t want to be totally barefaced. Enter: Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 A little bit of this goes a long way. It goes on green and will blend into a beige color - while doing so, it completely negates redness and color corrects. It’s a little bit heavy, which is my only issue with it, but it does exactly what it promises. It definitely isn’t a product for everyone, but if you have redness issues and your skin isn’t dry as a desert this may be worth checking out it’s $52 for 1.7 oz, and $18 for .5 oz - ive never purchased the full-size bc I find that the small size lasts for literal months
