Products that helped my acne
I’ve struggled with acne since 7th grade (I’m 20 now). I have used a lot of products and there are a handful I want to share that have really helped me get closer to my clear skin goal. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator this is by far the best product I’ve ever used. My skin looks smoother and my acne has subsided tremendously. I can’t get enough of this. (I use it twice a week, working up to three). I really do believe this product is essential for clearer skin! CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin this moisturizer has been my go to for about 5 years. It always keeps my skin hydrated and really helped when I was on acne prescriptions because my skin would always get really dry. Curology - Curology formula I have a whole post dedicated to this, but it really did help me a lot. I like having dermatologist prescriptions over other treatments. So, this was a great option for me and worked wonders! CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin I used to use the harshest face washed out there and strip my skin completely. This cleanser really helped me repair my moisture barrier and was gentle. My skin started looking really good after about 12 uses of this. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% this stuff is a miracle in a bottle!! My face is way less sensitive and my oils are under control. The redness from my acne subsides with the help of this product and I find it to help my acne heal and become smaller faster. Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment this treatment really helped me when I had minimal breakouts. This dried out my pimples over night and helped them go away faster. This was a really nice treatment and I plan on using it again when my face is clearer and I no longer feel the need to continue curology!!

No-Makeup Monday! (and a guide to hormonal acne)
I'm very proud of my skin right now considering I'm on my period and extremely hormonal. Of course the texture is THERE and REAL. (The lighting is just good.) On my period I usually get whiteheads on my nose & chin, painful mild acne on my hairline, & small annoying texture alllll over my cheeks. Which I AM experiencing, but I've been keeping under control better then ever! Do you experience hormonal acne? ⬇️ DON'T PICK, SQUEEZE, OR POP (or just keep it to a minimum) I get it, it's tempting, and our anxiety can get to us. Honestly, in my opinion, sometimes it's harmless. I removed a blackhead yesterday and immediately took the precautions afterwards. But I used to sit in front of my mirror for so long just picking at my entire face. Until I would step back and cry because my skin looked so ruined, red, and inflammed. I would cancel any plans I had coming up and dwell in my room. Get enough SLEEP! 💤 A good sleep schedule is so important for your skin, and not just when you're on your period. (But it definitely does help.) I've been on vacation and getting more sleep then normal. I've definitely noticed a difference in my skin! Keep your hair out of your face! 🚫 I never realized how much I could control the texture on my cheeks by just keeping my hair up & away from my face. It minimizes irritation and the spread of bacteria so much! Wash/switch out your pillowcases! 🛏 On my period I try to switch out my pillowcases after 2 consecutive uses. So every other night. I've noticed a huge difference in my hormonal acne by doing this. When i'm not on my period I switch them out every week. (or at least I try to.) But your pillowcase collects so much bacteria, even from your hair! And I definitely don't want my hair grease & products transferring onto my skin the next night. Don't overexfoliate or overuse treatments!⚠️ This was one of my biggest mistakes in the past, especially when on my period. I would go crazy on acids to try to clear up my skin. It's better to keep it consistent, or even go easier on your skin. Typically I do some kind of exfoliating every night, switching out between BHA and AHA's. So I use BHA about 3 times a week and AHA about 3 times a week. (And in the morning a vitamin C.) But this week, a few nights I used my COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence And my La Roche Posay Toleriane fluide Oil free Moisturizer, and called it good. (A review about this moisturizer coming soon!) Other products that I love for my hormonal acne ⬇️ REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner FARMACY - Deep Sweep elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum FOREO - LUNA Mini 2 Facial Cleansing Brush Fuchsia The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment CeraVe - Acne Foaming Cream Face Cleanser for Sensitive Skin

Irritation? Don't know her. 💁🏻‍♀️
Peels have been key products in my skin care routine, so when the Dr Dennis Gross - Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel wasn't working for me anymore I was devastated af. I also tried the Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment and it would make my skin burn too. I also find the smell to be horrible and the gritty stuff made it burn more. I heard good things about the NEOGENLAB - Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon and I've been loving K-beauty this year, so I gave it a try. This is my new favorite product. I saw instant results and it makes my skin glow. One thing people get wrong about peels is that a burning sensation means that it's working. A slight tingling is fine, but if it feels like it's burning, you might want to use another product! Weekly peels should not burn. I had no bad reaction with this product. It contains lactic acid, glycolic acid, and lemon, orange, and papaya extracts. It helped SO MUCH with texture and my hyperpigmentation so far. It combines gentle physical exfoliation with chemical exfoliation, as one side is a gauze and the other is a quilted pad with softer texture. If you have sensitive skin like me, I'm pretty sure this would work for you too. They also have the wine and green tea options to target other skin concerns. I use this once a week and have been using it for about a month now.

😱Poor Air Quality Made Me Changed My Skincare Routine Followed By Dermatologist😔
First of all, I wanna say that I'm really sorry about the bad things happening recently. The apocalyptic orange skies over California and Oregon caused by recent wildfires and subsequent smog have millions of Americans worried about air quality and pollution more than ever. Though uniquely visible on the West Coast, climate change is taking effect all across the country (and the world), which means there's an urgent need to figure out how to protect skin from polluted air now. To help understand the issue, Dr. Loretta, licensed dermatologist Loretta Ciraldo, MD, FAAD, shares her suggestions. She is a clinician and brand founder who has been studying the relationship between environmental aggressors and the skin for more than 40 years. 😨Skin Problem caused by air pollution To the obvious threats to our health, air pollution can cause a slew of skin issues, from age spots and wrinkles to acne breakouts. Ahead, she educates us on the best practices for how to deal with it — because, in a time where everything feels volatile, your preventative skin-care routine is one thing you can control. 💁🏼‍♂️Preventative Skincare Routine Wash your face twice a day: This one may sound intuitive, but it's important to wash your face twice a day, every day, especially when you're in contact with polluted air. "Since pollution levels can be high indoors as well as outside, you need to wash in the morning and at night to avoid exposure," Dr. Loretta says. "With this in mind, I actually created a hydrating cleanser that features a hydrolyzed algin to absorb pollution particles that can penetrate into our pores."  👍Youth to the People's Superfood Cleanser: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant CleanserI brought this product recently and I really fall in love with this. Not only the packaging is attractive but also the ingredients is all-natural, which I feel I'm using the nature juice to wash my face. The ingredients double-down on the power of antioxidants, which simply put, help your skin cells defend against pollutants. Exfoliate regularly: Along with washing your face, a gentle exfoliating routine personalized to your skin will help you get an even deeper clean. "Exfoliation will remove pollution particles that are often lodged in the surface layer of skin, and stop them from penetrating more deeply," Dr. Loretta explains. "You can exfoliate with a glycolic acid anywhere from 1-2 times a week to every night, depending on your skin type and tolerance of exfoliating products." 👍Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Intensive Pore Exfoliating Treatment: Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating TreatmentThis Kate Somerville formula contains chemical exfoliants, like lactic and salicylic acids, which help unclog congested acne-prone skin. I can feel it really works to make my pores less noticeable. Every time I use it, my skin feels softer, smoother, and more evenly textured. Protect the skin barrier with antioxidants: As Dr. Loretta explains, pollution damages the skin's protective lipid barrier, thereby increasing the chances that you'll break out. "The lipid barrier is what protects our skin from environmental factors, like climate shifts and increased ambient temperature caused by fires," she says. "Thus, it's important to use barrier-replacement skin products — from serum to sunscreen — that have active antioxidants to replenish skin's lipid content." 👍Sunday Riley - A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum: SUNDAY RILEY - A+ High-Dose Retinol SerumThis product is a concentrated retinol treatment that contained a 6.5% retinol blend (5% retinoid ester, 1% liposomal-encapsulated retinol, and 0.5% blue-green algae). The yellow-tinted serum smooths fine lines, uneven texture, and tackles pore congestion. I can see the texture on my cheeks from acne scars has diminished in appearance and credit to this product! Don't forget eye cream: The same way you don't want to forget sunscreen or a face mask, don't skip your eye cream in the morning. "Thin and delicate eye skin is affected by smog and pollution more than any other area of the face," Dr. Loretta warns. "Your eye area will be exposed, even when you're wearing a mask. So, be sure to use an antioxidant eye cream — maybe one infused with peptides, which will protect your skin and fade dark circles caused by all this stress." 👍Ole Henriksen's Banana Bright Eye Crème:OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Eye Crème I love this product!  It contains vitamin C which is really helpful for my dark circles, while collagen works on firming up the undereye area. The cream has a yellow tint that helps it do its illuminating duties. If you are looking for an eye cream, try this one! Wear your face mask: Some good news: If you're living in an area with poor air quality, wearing your face covering can actually help prevent breakouts. While maskne is a separate issue, Dr. Loretta tells us that a face-covering actually acts as a shield from environmental aggressors like smog and pollution. "Wearing a face mask outdoors helps block pollution particles from penetrating into the skin," she explains, adding an important reminder: Don't pull it on and off. "If you expose your skin to pollution in the air and then put your mask back on, those pollution particles can directly penetrate the skin." (Information from refinery29.com) All products mentioned are personal recommendations. Hope you guy like it and find it works for you!🤗

Subscription boxes. Are they worth it?
Shown is Ipsy’s November Glam Bag Plus. At one time I was subscribed to around 6-7 monthly to quarterly sub boxes. I had just decided to really get into skincare and figured one way to learn more would be by sampling products. After a few months I realized I was learning more from my peers on social media and wasting A LOT of products (and makeup) that I wouldn’t use so I canceled all but one, @myfacetory Ipsy is one of the subscriptions I would have considered keeping had I not had a load of products piling up. It’s reasonably priced and you do get a fair amount of brand name products to try. I wouldn’t say I’ve been “wowed” by them as of late but again, you definitely get what you pay for GB $12 - GBP - $25 They recently added a bunch of options for your “add-on” day and if you’re quick to grab some of the good stuff, you can usually score some great products for a fraction of their price. I managed to pile up about 12 eyeshadow pallets in the year of being subscribed. Bronzers and lipsticks are the other filler item companies seem to be consistent on. If you love makeup, sub boxes are your thing! I do enjoy makeup and can get quite obsessed with it, but not as much as I do with skincare. This months Glam Bag (GB) & Glam Bag Plus (GBP) I gave all 3⭐️ as I haven’t had a chance to use them). I will say I sadly am unimpressed with GB. I’m all for discovering new brands but not for dime store products. I just feel they could do better. GBP- (pictured) Laura Geller Pallete Murad - Retinol Youth Renewal Night Cream tarte - Sugar Rush Lip Sip Vegan Lip Oil Araceli - Ojos Perfectos Liquid Eyeliner JULEP - Eyeshadow 101 Eyeshadow Stick GB- Moda Blush Brush AMELIORATE - Smoothing Body Exfoliant ciaté - Watermelon Burst Hydrating Lip Oil IBYBEAUTY - Travel Size Radiant Glow Highlighter Jonteblu felt tip eyeliner pencil I added on - GLOW RECIPE - Banana Soufflé Moisture Cream -trial size TATCHA - The Deep Cleanse Exfoliating Cleanser - trail size Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream - not quite sure what size. They forgot my add-ons so are sending them separate. So in conclusion, for me subscription boxes are no longer my thing. If you’re one to like to experiment and are not picky, nor is your face not picky about what you put on it I’d say go for it. It’s fun getting boxes every month, feels like Christmas every time and most now let you pick an item or two now. Let me know if you’re curious about a certain sub box. I’ll be sure to tell you my honest experience with them. Much ❤️🍒

Fall in love with my morning routine 🍁
Anyone else love taking their time to do their skincare routine in the morning?! ⠀ Now I don’t have time to do this entire routine every morning but most days I love waking up an extra 5 minutes early just to do my in depth routine. ⠀ With the colder months coming and mascne still being a thing in my life hydration is key for me ⠀ Here’s a breakdown of my morning routine 🍁 cleanser: I have been loving the @instanatural_beauty vitamin c cleanser in the morning. It’s not only gentle but helps to brighten my complexion which is everything I look for especially during these dreary cold months insta natural - Vitamin C Cleanser, Anti-Aging ⠀ 🍁 vitamin c: I have been using the @paulaschoice C15 super booster for a few months now. I have to say it’s not necessarily my favorite and I definitely miss my @farmacybeauty very cherry. It’s more of a liquid serum and does cause a slight tingle but overall I don’t hate it. PAULA'S CHOICE - Resist C15 Super Booster ⠀ 🍁 Hylauronic acid: @earthharbor Celestine is my one true love! Not only does it smell amazing but it’s not sticky on my skin and keeps it hydrated all day long. EARTH HARBOR - Celestine Hydra-Plumping Peptide Serum ⠀ 🍁 moisturizer: @katesomervilleskincare goat milk moisturizer is perfect for the AM. It’s light enough to not be too heavy on your skin but gives the perfect amount of hydration. It’s a silky formula and I love it! Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream ⠀ 🍁 Face oil: Now I haven’t always been a face oil gal! I have normal-combination skin so I don’t suffer from dry skin much but with masks I find that breathing back onto my skin all day dries out my chin terribly. I like to use @sundayriley ceo glow every morning to not only nourish my skin but to help give it even more of a brightening boost! SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil ⠀ Have you tried any of these products in my AM routine?

Night Time Routine!
This is the routine I use when I want my skin to GLOW! I first cleanse with the TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser and then the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser . This was my last use of that cleanser and I won’t be repurchasing (see my other post for why). On this night I then used the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Facial Mask which I have fallen IN LOVE with. I got the whole “Ceremide” line in a holiday set and it’s bomb! Next was The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane , I’ve just started using this retinol but it’s a hit, I use it 2-3 times a week. After I use the Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream which has been amazing for my dry skin. I had a couple blemishes so my last step was the Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment which I’m also in love with. Hope you enjoyed this post and have a great night!☺️

$104?????
Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream When I saw the price of this, my jaw dropped. Of course Kate Somerville has a few expensive products, but $104 for a moisturizer that has nothing more than peptides and ceremides? Taking a deeper dive into the ingredients list, this also has shea butter, honey extract, soy extract, rice extract, and sunflower seed oil. This cream is an experience. It’s so thick and beautiful for my dry skin in the dryer months. It makes my skin have that glow from within look. I’ve been using this since the beginning of October, and it’s about halfway done. I did get this at 50% off, so I only payed $52 for it, and for that price, I would 100% buy this again, but for $104, no way in hell will I be getting this.

🧼CLEANSER REVIEWS🧼
I love experimenting with different cleansers, so here’s some recent faves! TULA SKINCARE - The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser will always continue to be a go-to! This super refreshing gel-based cleanser removes dirt, impurities & makeup without stripping or over-drying. Probiotics, prebiotics & lactic acid gently exfoliate skin, leaving it purified, clarified & balanced. It feels and smells CLEAN more than any cleanser I’ve ever tried, and my skin always feels amazing after using. bliss - Clear Genius Clarifying Gel Cleanser this is a new one for me, but I can already tell I’m going to be a huge fan. This is a gentle, purifying cleanser with BHA (salicylic acid!!) and Brazilian sea water. This foaming cleanser keeps pores clear and skin balanced - without over-drying - for a clear, calm complexion every day. I’ve been struggling with maskne lately, and I truly feel like this is making a difference. SUNDAY RILEY - Ceramic Slip Cleanser this is supposed to be a foaming gel cleanser made with plant based soaps to pull out impurities, clean, and balance skin. I didn’t love the consistency or the scent. I also didn’t feel like it foamed at all. Just meh. Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Cleanser Daily Foaming Wash this is a clinic-inspired foaming cleanser with AHAs and fruit enzymes to gently cleanse away oil, makeup, and surface impurities revealing smoother skin. More than any others, it has a nice tingly feeling and a great scent! Probably won’t be rushing to buy again, but also did enjoy it! Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser this is a creamy gel cleanser that is okay, but not amazing. It’s super gentle, pH balanced, and didn’t leave me with any complaints, but also nothing to rave about. JUICE BEAUTY - Green Apple Brightening Gel Cleanser I like this stuff for a gentle morning cleanse! The main benefits are it’s brightening effects! It has a great apple smell and a surprisingly runny consistency. EARTH HARBOR - Sunshine Dew Antioxidant Cleansing Oil this has become my go-to first cleanse or gentle morning cleanse! It feels like rubbing a bit of sunshine on my face and has a great lemon scent! Highly recommend if you are okay with scented products!

Ingredients to Build your Routine Around
I am 35 years old with two kids. I have dry / normal skin. My top concerns are fine lines & wrinkles, preventing aging, dullness, and dark circles. When I started my skincare routine, all I knew was that I started to notice fine lines & wrinkles and wanted to buy new products for “anti-aging”. After a lot of research, here are my Top 5 Ingredients with proven benefits for 30s Skin: 1. Retinol Retinol is a powerhouse for wrinkles. It is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin A. It alters the behaviour of aged skin cells. It smooths skin texture, enhances radiance and treats aging. Retinol can be irritating to skin, so build up your tolerance gradually starting with a lower percentage and only 1-2 days per week. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Murad - Ready, Radiant, Retinol SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 SUNDAY RILEY - Luna Sleeping Night Oil If you need an alternative to retinol because you have sensitive skin or you are pregnant or breastfeeding, bakuchiol is a good plant-based all natural alternative to retinol or rosehip oil is high in Vitamin A. HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Phyto-Retinol Serum The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil 2. Vitamin C A potent antioxidant that helps reduce skin inflammation, irregular pigmentation, and promotes healthier collagen production. It neutralizes free radical damage and great for AM routine. DRUNK ELEPHANT - Time to Wake Up Duo SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum 3. Exfoliate / AHAs Exfoliation is about boosting cell turnover. You should do it twice a week. Use different acids like lactic acid and glycolic acid. Build up a tolerance. You can use toners, serums, or creams. Kate Somerville - Liquid ExfoliKate Triple Acid Resurfacing Treatment SUNDAY RILEY - Good Genes All in One Lactic Acid Treatment The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA FARMACY - Honeymoon Glow Serum 4. Peptides Peptides preserve and boost collagen production. Peptides are short chain amino acids that act as building blocks for proteins such as collagen. It improves the appearance of firmness and wrinkles. Extensive research supports that peptides improve skin function and appearance. The Ordinary - ''Buffet'' OLAY - Wrinkle Correction Serum with Vitamin B3+ Collagen Peptides PAULA'S CHOICE - Peptide Booster 5. Hydration In your 30s your skin tends to get dehydrated. Hydration will plump up skin. Add a hydrating toner, facial spray, hyaluronic acid serum. The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 **BONUS** SPF Never forget you sunscreen ☀️

Switching Seasons Skincare Routine Switches
My skin type is typically combo oily and my skin concerns are acne and dehydration. I’ve incorporated a topical acne treatment from my dermatologist so my skin has been more dry lately. Even when my skin is normally more on the oily side, but even more so now, my skin gets very dry and flaky whenever the seasons change. It’s important to switch your routine around with the seasons because you want to adapt to how your skin is right then, like you want a thicker moisturizer in the cold to lock in and provide moisture rather than in the summer when you just need something lightweight and don’t want something too heavy or you’ll break out. In the summer months I like a foam or gel cleanser since my skin is more oily, but for the winter I like a creamier cleanser because they’re hydrating and better for drier skin types. Also for the summer I like a gel moisturizer because it’s lightweight and perfect for more oily skin, while in the winter I switch it out for a thicker moisturizer. These are the products I’ve mainly been using lately in addition to the topical acne serum. Summer products: SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Cleansing Foam is a foam cleanser that has a very strong and intense coconut scent. It gently cleanses impurities, while the proprietary truffle extract helps to reduce the signs of free radical damage and premature aging of skin. It claims to brighten, hydrate and improve the complexion with daily use. It’s just meh, it dried out my skin if I used it every night and didn’t enjoy the very strong fragrance. The BONAJOUR - Green Tea Water Bomb Cream is a lightweight gel moisturizer that has no scent. It is formulated with green tea and peptides to provide moisture and protect the moisture barrier for up to 72 hours. It leaves behind a dewy finish and provides a good amount of hydration. Fall products: Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser is a creamy cleanser that has a nice, light goat milk scent. It contains goat milk (to soothe dry, sensitive skin with natural milk proteins), Manuka honey (nourishes skin without any tightness, dryness or irritation), and Jojoba and Avocado Oils (moisturize and condition). This cleanser gently removes dirt, makeup, oil and impurities without stripping skin. This is the perfect AM and second cleanser. Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream is a daily cream moisturizer that delivers deep hydration, helps repair damaged skin and creates a gorgeous healthy-looking complexion while also improving the skin barrier function and soothing dry, sensitive skin. It is formulated with a rich blend of Jojoba and Avocado Oils, Lactose from Goat’s Milk, Natural Milk Proteins, Naturally soothing Aloe, Grape Seed Oil and Vitamin E, and antioxidants. It has a great light scent that smells like goat milk. This is the perfect lightweight cream moisturizer that hydrates and repairs, but isn’t heavy or greasy.

My PM Routine
🌙 For combo/dry skin 🌙 Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cleanser: $38 a cream cleanser containing goat milk and manuka honey...also my favorite cleanser of all time. This is so gentle and pleasant to use...great for dry or sensitive skin. 🌙 CosRX Propolis Synergy Toner: $23 a toner containing 72.5% propolis and 10% honey...this is so so for me. I typically really like honey for giving my skin hydration and glow but this one just doesn’t do a lot for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ 🌙 Drunk Elephant A Passioni Retinol Cream $74 and B Hydra $48...I like to mix these two together to improve the texture of and buffer the retinol. A Passioni is a 1% retinol so it’s pretty strong but the B Hydra contains ceramides and provitamin B5 to help hydrate the skin and minimize the drying effects of the retinol. 🌙 Milk Makeup Vegan Milk Moisturizer $38 is a rich cream moisturizer containing antioxidant rich fig milk, soothing oat milk, and a plethora of antioxidant rich oils. This stuff sinks into the skin quickly but leaves the skin feeling incredibly hydrated and soft.

Tips for inflamed acne
The first step to treating any acne is to understand what type of acne you have. Inflamed acne can be one of the three types of acne pictured above. This type of acne is often red, irritated and painful. I have three tips for those who may have inflammatory acne. (These are suggestions and are not guaranteed to work. I’m not a dermatologist or esthetician, these are just tips I’ve gathered from professionals. ) 1)You should treat the inflammation first before you try to treat the acne. Find skin soothing products that work for your skin type. Before you slather on the acne treatments, look for products with colloidal oatmeal, madecassoside, allantoin, green tea, etc. Some good products for treating inflammation are FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner and Krave - Great Barrier Relief. I got this tip from esthetician @/fairyglowmother on twitter. Please follow them for more advice directly from the source. 2) Look for products with sulfur or benzoyl peroxide. A lot of people (including me at first) were under the impression that salicylic acid is a cure all for acne. However, salicylic acid is mainly effective on non-inflammatory acne like whiteheads or blackheads. So, products like Kate Somerville - EradiKate Daily Cleanser Acne Treatment, PETER THOMAS ROTH - Therapeutic Sulfur Acne Treatment Maskor a 10% benzoyl peroxide cleanser may be a better option. I’m not 100% positive but I believe I got this tip from estheticians @/caveofbeauty and @/ seangarrette on twitter. Follow them for more advice. 3) Wash your face with lukewarm to cold water. Using hot water on your skin can be severely drying and will further irritate your inflamed acne and damage your skin barrier. The skin on your face is delicate so you should be gentle with it. Tip from @/makeupforwoc and @/caveofbeauty

Plump and Juicy Beauty Routine
My skin is the most important thing to me on my face. When my skin is looking right and tight I feel beautiful and confident. My beauty routine can be used day or night and is great for dry skin. I love a plump, juicy, and firm look to the skin and I’ve found this system keeps me looking snatched! It’s important to do this routine in order for the best results. 1. I start with cleansing the skin using the Kate Somerville Eradikate daily foaming cleanser after I’ve dampened my face with warm water. I love this cleanser because of its acne treating ingredients like 3% sulfur. I find it gives me a really deep clean and removes both my makeup and whatever dirt I have. I like to massage it into my skin for about 30 seconds and then rinse with warm water. 2. After I pat my face dry with a clean towel I then tone the skin with the Glow Recipe Watermelon glow toner. This toner has a lovely smell and feel, it has PHA and BHA to tighten pores and plump the skin. I simply apply it on the palms of my hands and pat it gently on to the face and neck. 3. This product is new for me but I’m absolutely obsessed with it. The Kate Somerville DermalQuench liquid lift serum is kinda a game changer for me. It comes in a spray bottle which you must shake well and then you spray it all over the face and neck, it tingles on the skin and foams, you must immediately massage it into the skin after application. This serum honestly firms, lifts, hydrates, and tightens the skin. It’s an oxygen facial and a hyaluronic serum all in one and I’ve seen immediate results with it. 4. The lashes mustn’t be neglected! I then use the Grande Lash lash enhancing serum on the base of my lashes. I’ve seen very fast results with this product, my lashes are growing in thicker, longer, and darker after using the serum day and night. 5. Once those serums have soaked in I then apply IS Clinical’s Youth eye complex to the entirety of the outside area of the eye. This product was gifted to me and I’ve been using it for 2 months now. It gives nice hydration and luminosity to the eye area and is Gentile. I apply half a pump to my ring fingers and pat the product in all around the eye. 6. The moisturizing step is the most important! I have a serious addiction the the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream. I’ve never tried a moisturizer that made my skin look so good. This moisturizer activates dormant stem cells in the skin and deeply hydrates. It has a Devine creamy texture that literally melts into the skin. I dispense 2 pumps onto my finger tips and begin massaging it all over my face and neck. I do a little lymphatic drainage by massaging from the center of the face towards the outer part of the face, then down the neck to reduce fluid build up in the face and decrease puffing especially I the morning. The best part Is this moisturizer perfectly primes my skin for makeup application as well. 7. This last step isn’t necessary unless I’m feeling like I need an extra jolt of moisture and glow. If I need it I will use the Augustinus Bader The Face Oil on top of the Rich Cream. This gorgeous oil plumps my skin and adds the most healthy luminous glow.

Kate Somerville - Breakout Fighters Kit These Kate Somerville - EradiKate Daily Cleanser Acne Treatment Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment The EradiKate line was a huge let down for me. I had high hopes for these products at first after reading great reviews I thought it was helping at the start but after continued use my skin became more dry and dull and the breakouts got worse. Definitely not worth the price and having to walk around stinking like sulphur after using it!

I love this face cream! It’s a very light consistency and feels very lightweight on the skin. You can feel instant hydration as soon as you start to rub this into your face. I personally received this product in my fabfitfun winter box. I love this cream but I’m not sure that I would repurchase personally due to the cost. Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream

Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser *skin is normally oily/combo but has been very dry recently Ugh my holy grail. Is there anything that Kate Somerville makes that isn’t absolutely wonderful? This was another fabfitfun item that turned out to be life changing. At first I wasn’t sold on a goat milk cleanser - I had hardly ever used milky cleanser at all. I fell in love with this after first use. It has a subtle sweet scent that is hard to describe but just makes me feel so homey and clean. It lingers a little too and I used to love catching a whiff of it every once and a while on some no makeup days. The cleanser itself is a good consistency - not too thick but definitely not runny and I found it super gentle. My face never felt tight or dry after I used it. In fact it felt supple and soft. There’s a lot of product in this tube as well so well it’s relatively expensive you do get your money’s worth. I just have a hard time spending a lot of money on any one product which might be the only thing stopping me from repurchasing this. If it were a little more affordable I imagine I’d restock this constantly. I really loved it so much.

Tonight’s routine 😴
Tonight’s routine 😴
Hello everyone! I recently decided to upgrade my skincare routine from very basic (just cleansing and moisturizer most days) to something more intentional. My skin fluctuates between dry and combination (definitely very dry in the winter), I struggle with large pores, blackheads, acne prone (although my acne has improved greatly over the past few years, yay!) Here’s tonight’s routine, some staples and a couple newbies: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser I have been using this cleanser for years with no complaints Kate Somerville - ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating TreatmentI received this sample in my IPSY bag and used it tonight in the shower, seems nice so far! I use TO lactic acid most nights but try to do a more intense exfoliator 1-2x per week THAYERS - Cucumber Facial Mist Another longtime staple The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA I use this most nights and mornings for 1. To help with dark spots and scarring and 2. For the added HA which is a nice moisture boost ACURE - Ultra Hydrating Eye Cream This eye cream is newish to me but I am liking it so far Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 My go to moisturizer for nights, sometimes daytime too if my skin is feeling dry ACURE - Seriously Soothing Blue Tansy Night OilTrying this out tonight for some soothing after exfoliation
