Makeup of the Day 💕
Hey, just because I’m still under quarantine doesn’t mean I can’t play around with some of my favorite products. Let’s talk about what I have on: For my base, I used the usual bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 which is tried and true. I luckily don’t need much coverage, and this gives me the perfect dewy look without looking caked on. bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer is still my favorite concealer right now. It provides great coverage without drying me out or settling into my fine lines. I skipped brow powder today and just used Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel which I am OBSESSED with. I’m going to do a more in-depth review of this in the near future, but this product reminds me of Benefit’s Gimme Brow. It gives the brows a really nice tint to fill out those sparse spots and really holds everything in place all day long. I have thick, long brow hairs, so it’s perfect for me. If you’re on the fence about it, hop off and get it already! Onto the eyes! Today, I played with one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes, the CLINIQUE - All About Eyeshadow Palette . I absolutely love this neutral palette because it has a great range of colors, and they are easy to blend and build up. I used one of the darker shades as a smoky liner. It also comes with a really nice double-ended shadow brush and mirror, so it’s perfect for travel. I’m still using and loving the Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara . That length and volume are fantastic. The brush is classic in its design, and the bristles are soft, so it’s very easy to apply and work with, especially in the corners and on the bottom lashes. On the cheeks, we’ve got the trèStiQue - Blush Stick in “Moroccan Rose” and trèStiQue - Highlight & Perfect Multipurpose Stick in “Maldives Luminescent.” The blush is a cream crayon, and I’d call the color a matte coral pink. A little goes a long way, and it’s buildable which is great. I like using my fingers to apply it. The highlight is also a cream crayon, and the color is a champagne tone which works with most skin tones. It’s gorgeous, and it makes it look like you’re glowing from within as opposed to just having glitter on your cheeks. Loving it so far! Finally, I finished this look off with bareMinerals - Moxie Plumping Lip Gloss in the shade “Daredevil” which is a plummy pink tone. It has a bit of a sparkle to it, and it also has that slight plumping peppermint tingle; it’s not overpowering which is just how I like it. Overall, I am digging this look, even if you and my husband are the only ones who are seeing it. Happy almost Thanksgiving! 💕

Feeling ill?? Slap some makeup on!
I apologize for the sparse posts. Mama has been feeling under the weather with some serious health issues. Instead of wallowing in bed all day, I decided to play with my NATASHA DENONA - Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Peak. These colors are to die for, and they have quite a bit of versatility once you start playing around with them. And that blending power? *chef’s kiss* Also, I just started using Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara . I’ll be the first to tell you that I HATE waterproof mascara because I find it to be too abrasive, but this product gives you incredible volume and actually comes off with my regular cleanser!

Switching Foundation In a Pandemic is not Easy!
Let’s be real, switching foundations and trying to color-match your skin is not easy even in the best of times. Add in the inability to test colors or sometimes even just see the actual color of the product before you buy it and it’s suddenly even more daunting than usual. I totally understand the need to protect people and honestly I wouldn’t want to put something on my face right now from a tester bottle when I don’t know who handled it last or how well it’s been cleaned. Trying different foundation shades is something most of us don’t think twice about. I for one never really thought about how unsanitary the process can be before now. Especially considering the different ways i’ve been given foundation samples on my skin. From bottles with old foundation dried to the squirt tip and people swiping bottle tips against my skin, to other people testing products who actually put their fingers onto pressed powders without a technician around to clean it afterwards (and yes i’ve stood there looking at things myself and watched it happen). So don’t ask me why I decided now would be a good time to make a change. I wasn’t happy with the tinted moisturizer I was using. So I changed that out for the Bareminerals complexion rescue and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I love the complexion rescue so much I decided to replace my super old, discontinued, not even the right color anymore mac foundation with one from Bareminerals. So I started hunting and looking at reviews on their different products to try and decide which one I wanted to try first. I settled on bareMinerals - BAREPRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 Next, I had to pick a shade. I ended up taking their quiz and got their top 5 suggestions & I can honestly see quizzes like this becoming the new norm for color-matching. This quiz made it super easy to go into Ulta with some potential matches already in hand & sped the process up slightly. I spent several minutes staring at glass bottles and holding them to my face while avoiding the glare of the lights. This is where having someone else with me came in handy since they could tell me what it looked like from different angles. I decided to go with a middle shade in my spectrum and it color matched pretty well when I got home to try it. Once it dried I loved the smooth matte feel of it & it seemed to blend with my skin even better. It doesn’t look caked when I have it one and it really is a more medium coverage since even just the first layer really covered my redness and blemishes. Overall i’m pretty happy with it right now. I rarely use foundation for daily activities as a college student, but it’s nice to have one that matches me in my beauty arsenal for the rare occasions when I need it. (For color matching purposes half my face is bare and the other half has the foundation in light natural on it & concealer under my eye) (This really helps in comparing it to your skin’s natural color)

Marshall’s Haul: Deals and Steals!
If you guys aren’t going to Marshall’s/Ross/TJ Maxx occasionally to peruse their skincare and makeup sections you’re missing out!!! Here are the deals I got (product reviews to come). The pimple patches were actually found at Target, a friend recommended stickers because my skin is too sensitive for acne treatment and I only get the occasional hormonal spot here recently. $7.99 USD alba BOTANICA - Acne Pimple Patch I have been wanting to try FAB’s tinted moisturizer foreverrrr because it has colloidal oatmeal in it which is amazing for my eczema! It is normally $28 though, which is steep for a tinted moisturizer. I got it at Marshall’s for $15.99 IN MY SHADE! Very excited to try this baby out. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 I love pawpaw ointment! It’s a great multipurpose balm to have on hand (similar to Aquaphor) I haven’t tried this fancy brand yet, I usually use Lucas’ Pawpaw (thank you Australian camp counselor friends) but have heard great things about Dr. Pawpaw (UK-based). This 100 mL tube is usually $25 and I got it for $3.99!!! Dr. PAWPAW - Original Balm And for the STEAL I got Bareminerals original mineral foundation that is normally $32 for $5.99!!! Fun fact, Bareminerals was the first foundation I ever used and I’ve been curious to try it again since I’ve been having so many issues with my skin. Going to try that natural look out again and worst case mix it with a moisturizer if it’s powdery. bareMinerals - Matte Loose Powder Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Reviews to come! 💕 Oh and didn’t have time to do the lashes today fingers crossed for tomorrow!

First of all, perioral dermatitis is a sterile “disease” so it will not contaminate your cosmetics or makeup products. For now about half an years, I live with this inflammation of the skin – which can be chronic. Once it’s triggered, it can come back. However, by adopting the right routines, it is possible to live with rather quietly. In times of crisis : This is the most difficult period to manage. It is possible to wear makeup with perioral dermatitis. However, it is important to stay in the dynamic of detox cosmetics and apply only powders to the face. If you use a liquid foundation, the skin will not be able to get out of the inflammation because it will absorb the moisturizing component of the foundation. Concealer is not recommended in times of crisis for the same reasons as the foundation. The face can be very red and swollen, the only way that can make this moment a little more livable is to slightly hide the redness with a powder type compact foundation or mineral powder. You can apply your powder with a brush or with a slightly damp Beauty Blender sponge. The softest way to apply the powder will be to lightly pat your face with your tool. You can apply the foundation powder all over your face, even under dark circles to unify your complexion. It is possible to combine a bronzer or a blush if you want to structure a little more your face. However, I advise you to keep your hand light. In rest period : When the skin is fine and it does not have inflammation, it is possible to wear makeup normally. As for skincare products, vigilance will still be put in the products used and their compositions. The advice I could give you is to avoid layering and too thick formulas that tend to suffocate the skin. About the brands, I have used several products and I can tell you those with which I did not have any problems in connection with perioral dermatitis. However, it is possible that your skin reacts differently from mine : Bare Minerals : Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream —— my fave & use it almost everyday Embyolisse : Poudre Compacte Bonne Mine Lancôme : Miracle Cushion Laura Mercier : Loose Setting Powder Urban Decay : concealer, One and Done, Powder foundation

Need makeup feedback please!!
I’ve never been great at doing my makeup. I’m also terrible at taking selfies. I’ve been working on techniques for hooded eyes as well, and I put the eyeshadow above my crease, but you still can’t really see the eyeshadow I applied. Does my makeup look cakey as well? I would really appreciate some feedback. Thank you! The products I used: tarte - SEA Quench Hydrating Primer bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 25 beautyblender - Classic Makeup Sponge Pink bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer benefit - Goof Proof Brow Pencil bareMinerals - Prime Time Eyelid Primer tarte - Tartelette Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette tarte - Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara tarte - Opening Act Lash Primer MAC - Mineralize Blush bareMinerals - Dew Mist Setting Spray I don’t have anything on my lips. I’d love to try something with some sheen, but no glossy, and in natural shades. I prefer toxin-free. Any recommendations?

Smudgeproof mascara duo!
I have a really hard time with mascara smudging and giving me panda eyes. This duo is working really well. You can see a little smudge under my eyes in the last photo, but it’s right at the end of the day before washing my makeup off. I’ve used other mascaras that provided more drama, but I’m quite happy with this combo and I recommend it for others with the same issue. This is this morning’s 5 minute face as I seem to be running out of time in the morning. I just put a tiny bit of foundation on the upper half of my face since I wear a mask at work. tarte - SEA Quench Hydrating Primer bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 25 bareMinerals - BARESKIN Complete Coverage Serum Concealer bareMinerals - bareMinerals Blush tarte - Opening Act Lash Primer tarte - Lights, Camera, Splashes Waterproof Mascara benefit - Goof Proof Brow Pencil bareMinerals - Statement Luxe Shine Lipstick

Glow-from-within look ✨✨✨
Before getting this look down with make up, I used these products to prep my face for the day after cleansing and using my niacinamide treatment: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA prepped my dry skin perfectly for the day. Normally I don’t initially reach for something with hyaluronic acid in my environment, but it was surprisingly humid this day in LA! So I knew the formula was gonna pay off for my usually dry skin. First I applied my Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 and it is THE best for protection and multi-tasks as the best velvety finish primer for makeup. I have a whole post dedicated to this product alone! Next I waited for that moisturizer to dry, then applied BECCA - Under Eye Brightening Corrector I’ve dabbed with my fingers and have to be precise with it, but it applies best with a blender/ sponge. After that set, I applied my bareMinerals - Complexion Rescue Hydrating Foundation Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 25 and it blurred out ALL THE THINGS I needed it to blur out *cough cough pores, cough cough* Then, along the edges of my forehead, near my ears and outer cheeks, went for the tarte - Limited Edition Buff & Bronze Body Kabuki Brush and blended out the foundation and bronzer together for a soft sunkissed look. For the highlighter under the eyebrows and above the cheeks, I used the BECCA - Pop Goes the Glow Champagne Pop Face & Eye Palette and man is this another multi-tasking item! Applied the darkest color along the center of my my eyelids by the crease, and the pinkish color along the top of my eyelids by my eyelashes. To top things off, I went for it with my tarte - Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara and while I love the application and lengthening, don’t love that it runs easily. Definitely consider a drugstore mascara, never underestimate those! Let me know if you have any questions and what you love to use to pull off that “glow from within” look for the day!

THE GOOD WITCH OF THE SOUTH 👑🌟💗
The inspiration behind this look was obviously the Wizard of Oz. I wanted to do a modern twist to the look and this is what I came up with.  Products: •contour/bronzer blushes: bareMinerals - bareMinerals Blush LAURA GELLER - Match Blush-N-Bronzer Duo WANDER BEAUTY - Dusk to Dawn Blush and Highlighter Palette •eyeshadows: HUDA BEAUTY - The New Nude Eyeshadow Palette Too Faced - Bon Bons Chocolate Shadow Palette •liquid shadow: #L’Oréal - Infallible paint eyeshadow[products]#[FourStars] •glitter shadow: PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Extreme Shimmer Shadow Nude Palette •highlighter: benefit - Dandelion Brightening Finishing Face Powder FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter •lipglosses:KKW BEAUTY - Kkw Crème Liquid Lipstick How to: •On a prepped face (foundation, concealer etc.,) I applied a mixture of the three blushes listed above. I applied the darkest shade to “contour" and the the other two shades all over to “bronze” the face. In the movie, Glenda has so much blush on so going overboard on the blush was a nesessity.  •For the eyes, I wanted to create a soft pink look. I used light pink matte shadows all over the crease and blended it outwards towards the temples of my face. I then took a flat brush with concealer and cut the crease of my lid. I applied the white liquid shadow in the inner corner of my eyes/lid. Then I applied the pink glitter shadow in the inner lid space of my eyes.  •For the under eye area, I applied the matte shadows and blended it out.  •To finish the eyes I applied highlighter to the brow bone, and added mascara and false lashes. •For the lips, I applied the lipgloss in the shade ‘kiki' and topped it off with a clear liquid lipgloss •Lastly, I heavily applied highlighter to the high points of my face. For the outfit, I chose something pink and with puffy sleeves as she wears that in the movie. I didn’t want to wear a crown for this look because I wanted to make it wearable so I tied a necklace around my ponytail to recreate a modern take on the tall jeweled crown she wears in the movie.  #CheriePartner

What’s in my Makeup Bag? 💄
- PHYSICIANS FORMULA - Organic Wear Natural Origin Mascara *reviewed on page - e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow PencilI use this brow pencil only as a brush. Favorite Blushes: bare Minerals
This is an all over face color product but because of the shade that I got I use this as a blush. The shade is “pure radiance” and it’s a shimmery pink. I love using this as a combo highlighter and blush. I have had this product for a long time and don’t use it often because I really don’t use blush often. This is a great product for anyone that likes a little shimmer to their blush. I love this brand as well!bareMinerals - All-Over Face Color

Finally creating an actual skincare routine
I’m somewhat new to skincare. For the longest time I had the clearest skin but after college I started to get hormonal acne and some skin texture issues. Morning: Cleanser- LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser for Acne Prone Skin. I just got it a few days ago and so far I like it! Prior to this I was using Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser (which I still keep in my shower for after working out-this cleans my skin well but isn’t anything crazy special) Next: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clarifying Lotion - I really like this!! It’s absorbs quick and isn’t drying, often these types of products make my skin a little itchy but not this one! (I still use PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator but I do this every other day in the evening, it makes my skin very sensitive but it does work well) Spot Treatment: CLINIQUE - Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel - I’ve been using this for 2 weeks and I love it!! I notice a difference in any new breakouts, it stops them right in their tracks. Feels great too and soaks in nicely. Serums: The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - trusty product that I will always use. I’m now adding in bareMinerals - Skinlongevity Long Life Herb Serumto help with my skin appearance and fine lines (~2 weeks of use and so far I like it, it’s hydrating and soaks into the skin. There’s a light scent that I don’t mind either) Moisturizer: CLINIQUE - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+- using for 2 weeks and I really it! It’s gel based so it’s absorbs right into the skin. I don’t like heavy moisturizers because they make me oily, so this one is great! Keeps my skin happy even in the colder weather! Nighttime: Same cleanser as morning Same clarifying lotion/exfoliate as mentioned in morning, and same spot treatment Moisturizer: NEW unreleased bareMinerals Ageless Phyto-Retinol Face Cream. I got a full size product for free during a featured event, I believe this will retail for around $62 and be released in the new year. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and my skin seems to be liking it! It’s a thicker cream so I prefer it only at night. There is a somewhat strong perfume-like scent which I don’t normally mind, but if I use my PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator prior to the cream, it does make my skin a little tingly/itchy. I like that it’s a plant based “retinol” and is less harsh on the skin. Hoping this one works out! Other products: The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane- Bought this prior to getting the bareMinerals Phyto-Retinol Cream. I haven’t tried it yet so no review. Not sure where to add this to my routine if/when I decide to use it. Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum- I got this before my breakouts but haven’t used it since, might try to add

The Most Liquid-y Serum You Will Ever Have
***this is the bareminerals longevity long life herb serum that was gifted to me by @influenster a bit back.*** as you can see here, it’s extremely lightweight and fluid, almost milky. it spreads everywhere so a little pump goes a very long way. although i can’t pinpoint the exact scent it has, it smells amazing. unlike caudalie’s vinopure skin perfecting serum which absorbs very quickly and gets tacky almost right away, this takes a bit to fully absorb and doesn’t leave any tacky feel behind! this gives a nice boost of hydration to the skin and really helps to absorb products that come after. it looks and feels like luxury, and so is the price tag at $62. if you have the means, this is a great serum for hydration!

This bareMinerals - Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipstick is in the shade friendship. This is one of the most comfortable matte liquid lips that I’ve ever tried. It never dries out my lips and it lasts a long time. You definitely don’t need to reapply very often. Even though this is more of a high end with product I do think that it’s worth the money because of the fact that it’s comfortable won’t dry out your lips and you don’t constantly need to be reapplying so you’ll get more where’s for the amount of money that you’re paying. They also have a very wide range of shades to select so you’ll be sure to find a shade that works for you.

I haven’t used t
bareMinerals I haven’t used their products before and hadn’t heard of this line yet, but they have a patented long life herb extract that has anti aging benefits and improves the skins resilience and suppleness. These products also contain antioxidants which help against environmental damage, and contain brightening effects. I’m excited to start incorporating these into my routine and test them out!

This Foundation Stick by barem
This Foundation Stick by bareminerals was on my wish-list ever since it was out. I have tried it a couple of times in store and I decided to buy one for myself to use on holiday. It was a very creamy/dewy texture, very hydration (cooling-wet sensation), has an SPF 25 and looks very natural on skin. Let me tell, I have used this every single day whilst away and was always in my handbag. I purchased shade number 02, which is tad darker than my skin. What I like the most is that again, I feel very comfortable wearing this, knowing that well formulated, no nonsense ingredients.
