Zoom Meeting Makeup!
so, since one of my girls is getting married via zoom tomorrow, i needed a rehearsal look today! to look lowkey but still pretty, i did a lot of illuminating with my favorite highlighter, ciaté - Jessica Rabbit Glow to Highlighter i adore this since i got it in an ipsy bag a year ago, it’s changed my life. it’s powder, and has the most wonderful pink champagne glow. to combat a little dryness i had going on, i used a drop of the e.l.f. - Hydrating Booster Drops because the best thing about this is their hydration. then i curled my lashes with this eyelash curler i got from the dollar store (shhh) and applied some tarte - Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara which is gorgeous for a natural beauty look. my lashes are mine but better and hold the curl from the curler. on my lips and cheeks i used the very red shade from this e.l.f. - 3 Piece Lip Balm Set which makes me look that little bit flushed and has a nice minty scent. finally, i went in on my brows withpixi - Brow Tamer just to give them a little more shape. super lightweight, comfy, but still glam 😍

•Moroccanoil “dry texture spray”: I LOVE moroccanoil hair products - their dry shampoo for dark tones is one of my can’t live without hair products. however, I already have a dry texturizing spray that is my other can’t live without product (Oribe) and this one by Moroccanoil is not as good -it also makes my hair really hard and crunchy feeling. •Grande Cosmetics “grandelips” hydrating lip plumper in clear: this has a good tingle to it which makes it really feel like it’s plumping - I like the smooth texture of it too.  •Ciate London “glow-to highlighter” (color=moondust): is a really pretty champagne shimmer. •Laneige “water sleeping mask”: I just used this last night because my skin was really dehydrated and I needed to use something that I could apply before bed and wake up with moisturized skin (I have the full-sized container also)- this did the trick! My skin was hydrated and had a glow to it this morning. It dries onto the skin after applying but you can still a thick layer melting off when you wash it in the morning. •NARS “ace the base” smudge proof eyeshadow base: I don’t typically use an eyeshadow primer, but I do like this one and think it works; not a must have for me though. •Amika “velveteen dream smoothing” shampoo and conditioner: I haven’t tested this yet nor have I have heard of the brand before now- I am not the biggest fan of shampoo/conditioner samples.

Wish they would bring the lip gloss back though
Aqua Lips by Make Up ForEver is my all time favorite. Sadly they don’t make these anymore; but I pick them up whenever I see someone selling them. I wish they would bring them back. Sorry, but none of their new formulas are the same. The one I am wearing is 16C and the lip liner (which is still sold) Is also being worn. I put this on this morning, was running around all day, are pulling pork and barbecue beef, drank, it was raining (and I had no umbrella), and I took this pic at 11:30 at night. Not bad at all! There was a little transfer to my cup and fork, and also onto my face mask; but overall not as bad as usual. Just don’t expect to make out in this and not see a mess...you and your partner may resemble a lighter version of Harley Quinn and the Joker, depending on the shade. What didn’t hold up as well all day was my face makeup. I’m not sure what the oil thing was I had going on, it wasn’t a very warm day at all, but I had some shine and oil. The only thing different in my routine was the Make Up For Ever HD foundation. I had a deluxe sample and really wanted it to work. While it went on nice and didn’t settle into fine lines or exaggerate pores and seemed like a great everyday foundation for when I want something nice and light; what I definitely don’t want is something that doesn’t have staying power. Nor do I want to have to go heavy on the powder; as then lines and pores tends to become more obvious. I feel like finding the right setting powder is the key to making this work. Eye makeup held up great! Too Faced makes fantastic eye primer and I always have good luck with it and with my Urban Decay palettes and eye liners. I recently discovered that Essence makes some pretty amazing mascaras too. Shocking, since I am so used to spending a fortune. These go for between 3 and 7 dollars, depending where you get them and if they are on sale. Are you kidding me? Unless it’s a mini, I hadn’t spent less than $15 on mascara in years! I should mention that my eyes get pretty watery, so finding eye makeup that holds up in a challenge.

Base, Build, then BEAT
Okay so skin background I have oily/leaning to combo skin. I get oily in my t-zone and I also find myself having larger pores. ➕dr. brandt - Pores No More Luminizer Primer I love this primer because I find my skin being slightly highlighted but not to much. I like to have a little bit of glimmer under my foundation because it prevents it from looking dull. It fills in your pores very well. I use this under any foundation and mostly when I take pictures. ➕ciaté - Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer this I something similar to elf jelly pop but without the stick. I got this in my IPSY BAG and I actually didn’t mind it. Even though I have oily dominant t-zones this works very well because I set my entire face in powder not just the highlighted areas. Only thing I don’t like is the watery consistency. ➕fARSÁLI - Liquid Powder Oil Balancing Serum this is an amazing splurge but worth every penny. I use this on especially hot days and my makeup DOES NOT MOVE! It’s leaves a white film but once you apply your foundation, it goes away instantly. A little goes a long way because I’ve had it for about 6 months and haven’t even put a dent in it (maybe it’s because of the pandemic??). I wear this over my primer and mostly in my t-zones .

My HG Make Up Primer
I originally got this primer from an Ipsy bag as a deluxe sample and after finishing it I went out and bought the full size. I’ve had a hard time with make up primera for years, as most of them will break out my skin almost instantly. The Watermelon Burst does not! This primer hydrates my skin and my make up applies so smoothly on top of it, and my face make up stays all day. I LOVE IT. I bought it for $28 at Sephora. 5 stars. ciaté - Watermelon Burst Hydrating Primer

graduation makeup 👄✨
my skin type: combo, acne prone, rosacea my skin concerns: hyperpigmentation + redness the look I was going for: simple, natural look with a tiny bit of glam. Graduations are HOT (indoors or outdoors, so I needed a look that could withstand the heat and sweat. The day is LONG: from a long ceremony to parties, eating, and drinking, so I needed a look that could withstand the whole day, keep me looking plump and hydrated, and cover my acne for all the photos. In order of use: + primer: laura mercier - Hydrating Foundation Primer + tinted moisturizer: FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 + concealer: e.l.f. - Hydrating Camo Concealer + blush & lips: BITE - Multistick in shade cashew + highlighter: WESTMAN ATELIER - Lit Up Highlight Stick + eyeliner: NYX - Vinyl Liquid Liner in black + mascara: ciaté - Wonderwand Intensely Volumising Mascara in black + powder: LAWLESS - Seal The Deal Loose Setting Powder + setting spray: Fourth Ray - Glisten Up Vitamin C Face Mist The BITE - Multistick is truly THE star of the show, as I tried to keep my other products neutral and simple. I absolutely love the formula of this multistick, it’s perfect for eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick/lip crayon. Doesn’t clump up on my eyes or lips, which are def problem spots for clumping if the product is too drying. A very hydrating formula actually, and it has incredible staying power; I look rosy and fresh all day. The only downside to this product is that I love it so much and it’s discontinued. So I feel bad for even raving about it! Bite has reformulated most of their products to be vegan, so I hope this makes a comeback ASAP.

makeup in under 10 minutes featuring rare beauty
Sooo the challenge was a ten minute makeup tutorial, but I ended up finishing my daily makeup look way faster than that, in 5 min 28 seconds. This look is perfect for running to the grocery store, to work, to the theme parks nearby, even a casual night out. I have perfected the fast & simple but elegant and fun makeup look in the last ten years, and these are the products that help me! Skin type: combo, rosacea, acne prone, sensitive Skin color: light-medium. Skin concerns: lots of hyperpigmentation and post acne marks, lots of redness. Products used (in order): + ISOMERS - ISOMERS BB Cream really good! Has a nice blurring effect, no tint, and is a great primer. I rub some between my hands to get it warmed up and then apply with my finger tips. + boscia - Skin Perfecting BB Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 have reviewed this many times before! I am really just trying to finish it at this point. I apply with my fingers and then blend out with my beauty blender from Haley’s beauty - using the sponge saves SO MUCH TIME. + NYX - Vinyl Liquid Liner hands down the best liner ever, doesn’t smudge after it dries down and never moves! + e.l.f. - Instant Lift Brow Pencil I only use the spoolie on this these days - the pencil itself is useless on my thick brows. I will never ever miss this in my routine - I love brushing my brows in place and creating the look I want with them. I’m glad that big fluffy brows are in! + Rare Beauty - Liquid Touch Brightening Concealer SUPER in love with this concealer. For $19, you really can’t beat it. It’s long lasting, medium to full coverage (for me at least) and doesn’t crease under my eyes. I don’t set my makeup with powder or setting spray at all, and this STILL gives me the best of both worlds between dewy and matte. I have shade 140C (light w cool beige undertones) and it’s a TAD too light for me but blends out beautifully - it works. 48 shades (although not evenly distributed id say). I blend out with my sponge! + BITE - Multistick discontinued but I so adore this. This is a mini but the brand sent me two full sizes when they found out how much I loved it and was sad it was discontinued. I have shade cashew on right now and it’s GORGEOUS. I have used this on my eyelids before as a perfect neutral eye color, but it works best on my cheeks as a blush. The formula is pretty thick so I blend it out with a brush (luxie buffer) instead of my sponge. + ciaté - Wonderwand Intensely Volumising Mascara not my favorite mascara, it clumps easily and I spend a good thirty seconds wiping excess off the brush. But it does fine on! + FEMPOWER BEAUTY - Virtumatte Lipstick one of the best brown shades I’ve ever tried - the formula is very luxe and I love how it looks on me. It’s great for fall and winter, but I rock it year round. #CheriePartner

Favorite affordable powders! ✨
These are the powders I always come back to since they’re some of my favorites. These work really well with my skin and are really affordable too! Essence all about matt fixing compact powder, I really love this powder. It makes my skin matte but not dry looking. I always set my face with this or use this alone. It doesn’t move my foundation or any base I have. This powder is only $3.99 and you can always use a code on ULTA or their website to get it cheaper. essence - All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder AOA studio perfect finishing pressed powder, really nice fine powder. These come in a variety of shades and also in translucent and banana color. This is super affordable $1 on shopmissa.com AOA studio - Perfect Pressed Powder Coty airspun loose powder in translucent, a classic powder that I’ve been using for several years. Sets full coverage and sheer makeup so it’s very versatile. It does have a strong scent so I left it slightly open to a few days. Now all it has is a subtle scent. This varies in price from $5.90-8.00 Coty AIRSPUN - Loose Face Powder Ciate coconut setting powder, fine powder that feels really nice on the skin. Keeps my makeup set in place. I got this in a boxycharm. A little more on the pricey side. $22 on ciate site. ciaté - Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder

Perfect setting powder
I love using setting powders to make sure my makeup stays oil-free and long lasting. Other products tend to be too light or settle into fine lines or just not work well. This powder ensures crease-free and soft makeup. It’s light and airy finish leaves a flawless matte look that will last all day. You don’t breathe in particles when you dust it off like other powders. Definitely worth it! The perfect finishing product for any makeup look. And who doesn’t love coconut!

My current makeup favorites
ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Norvina Pro Pigment Palette Vol. 1 This Norvina palette is one of my go to palettes right now for bright fun colors. Every shade is super pigmented, and the shimmers are beautiful without being chunky. I usually use MAC painterly paint pot as a base, and this eyeshadow doesn’t crease or lose pigment even after hours of wear. I even use the darker shades for a winged eyeliner effect and it stays all day. URBAN DECAY - Stay Naked Weightless Foundation This liquid foundation is hands down my favorite. I have combo oily and dry skin, and it doesn’t cake on my dry patches, nor break apart in the oily parts of my face. I’ve worn it for a full day with no real need to powder or touch up. I also love the wide shade range because it is hard to find foundation that matches my undertones tarte - Ist PRO Glow & Blush Palette This palette is the only blush bronzer that I reach for every time I do my makeup. It has great colors for my medium skin tone, and is not patchy or hard to blend. I don’t think the bronzer would work as well for those with deeper skin tones but the blushes are definitely good for a wider range. The highlighter is soft and pretty, but buildable if you want higher shine. ciaté - Glitter Flip This is my first Cistercian’s lippie and I get so many compliments. It feels like a matte liquid lip but the glitter definitely shines through. It can be a little drying, but it isn’t hard to remove like some other liquid lipsticks. It is also pretty long wearing which is great for a night out.

﹛Ciaté London Glow-To Highlighter﹜
Okay, so I know this isn't the most aesthetically-pleasing product photo I've ever posted, but regardless of my... rather minimal packaging on this product, I still wanted to showcase it and talk about it on my feed because it's honestly one of my absolute favorite highlighters and even one of my fav products in general! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This product is the ciaté - Glow-to Highlighter in the shade 'Moondust,' and the reason for the simple (weird) plastic packaging on my particular product is because I received it as part of an Ipsy bag a whileeee ago. And I'm really glad I ended up getting this guy in that Ipsy bag because I definitely don't think I ever would have gravitated towards a pink-looking, super intense highlighter like this one if I were just browsing beauty products online or in-store - I tend to prefer more of a pearly, champagne kind of tone to my highlighters and I've stuck pretty closely to that 'rule' for pretty much all of the highlighters in my collection except for this one, and that's only because I wasn't the one who picked it out; it was picked out for me! Just goes to show that even if you definitely have a 'type' when it comes to certain beauty products, you shouldn't necessarily avoid everything that doesn't fit your mold of what you typically like! As you can see in the photo, this highlighter, when swatched/applied, actually appears muuuuch more champagne/golden-toned than it looks in the pan! So if you've ever had your eye on the Ciaté Glow-To highlighters, don't immediately write off the shade Moondust simply because it looks and is described as pink on the website! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What's a product you've gotten as either a part of a beauty subscription like Ipsy or Boxycharm, or as a gift, or anything that was picked out by someone other than you that you ended up really enjoying? Have you ever pre-judged a certain beauty product or formed an opinion about it that completely changed after you actually tried it out for yourself? Please let me know!!!! 🥰

I received this setting powder in one of my BoxyCharm subscription boxes and fell in LOVE! The powder is super light and has an incredible smell of coconut. It’s a very light scent, but it’s lovely and reminds me of the beach every time I use it. I love the feeling of this powder, you can use very little and it leaves your skin feeling super soft, like silk. Overall I give it a 5/5 ⭐️ and I will be purchasing once it runs out! ciaté - Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Powder

One of my favorite blushes. I
One of my favorite blushes. I have this in the shade ‘Dusk’ and it gives me a perfect flush of light pink. I received this in my boxycharm and I’ve definitely come to love this. I love that its really blendable and I can layer it to be more pigmented and bright. I like to swirl in my brush and tap any extra off, then when I apply my blush I bring it up to my hair line just so I can have a more natural looking flush of color. ✨⚡️✨Also little tip I learned; apply the blush without smiling that way you know where it will be on your face. If you smile the blush will be a bit lower than your natural cheeks. Hope this helps! ciaté - Glow-to Illuminating Blush

I received this in my boxycharm and wasn’t sure I was going to like it. Turns out, it’s actually pretty gorgeous on. It’s not as dark as it is in the pan but totally buildable if you needed it to be. It also has a smooth almost creamy texture. High shine without the sparkle.
