Ren-EverCalm
This mask has seriously rescued my skin not only from a hard day of windburn but from a irritating product or two. It immediately soothes my combination skin as soon as I apply it. I received it as a sample in one of my subscription boxes and now I wonder how I ever liked without it. Can be used put to 3 times per week.

REN Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask
The what: This is a sample size of the REN Evercalm Comforting Rescue Mask. It is available at Sephora, online retailers, and the brand’s website. The details: This mask is part of the Evercalm line that targets redness and irritation. This mask claims to hydrate, soothe, and help with redness within 15 minutes or less. It contains mushroom and arnica extracts to soothe and protect your skin barrier, along with shea butter to moisturize. This product is marketed as being safe for all skin types, including sensitive. Per the directions, it can also be used as an overnight mask to help nourish and moisturize your skin while you sleep. REN is cruelty-free. My thoughts: This mask is okay. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t love it. It has minimal scent and feels nice going on my skin. It’s kind of thick, which lead me to believe it would be more hydrating than it is. Per the directions, I removed it after 15 minutes and applied the rest of my skincare. I didn’t really feel much of a difference in my skin. A few days later I tried it as an overnight mask. It was moisturizing but left a sort of...film on my skin that I washed off right after I woke up. I also tried it in place of moisturizer in the PM, and my skin didn’t feel hydrated enough. My skin isn’t particularly sensitive, but I will say that this did not bother my skin in any way or cause breakouts. I personally prefer really hydrating overnight masks that don’t leave a film on my skin, so I would not re-purchase this. The price: $42 for 1.7oz. My sample came as a gift with purchase from Sephora. 3/5⭐️

REN Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Toner I’m so disappointed about this one! This is marketed as an AHA toner to chemically exfoliate after cleansing. It is recommended for all skin types especially for oily and acne-prone skin. I tried this REN Daily AHA tonic as a perk from Sephora. I was excited because I personally love AHA products! Immediately, I hated the smell! It’s super citrus-y and I don’t think that fragrance should be paired with chemical exfoliators like AHAs in order to prevent sensitivity. For me, after I applied this my face was extremely red. More red than when I use any chemical exfoliants. It was either too strong for me or the fragrance irritated me! The only AHA active ingredient in this is lactic acid. In my opinion, I believe there are way better lactic acid products on the market without fragrance and that yield better results. I could only use this once because of the extreme reaction I had. I will give the brand perks for making this cruelty free and affordable. However I just can’t recommend this unfortunately! The possible benefits of lactic acid are not worth the possible irritation with this. Luckily I received this for free as a Sephora perk!

“Clean,” they say...
I’ll be honest, I was really hoping this product would deliver. I was looking for something to help with my dullness and hyperpigmentation and came across this product. I tested it out for two months every night, and my skin became increasingly sensitive. Now, usually I have a high tolerance to acids, so I found my skins sensitivity... odd. When I looked into it, the ingredient list revealed what was causing my irritation. Irritating “natural” ingredients such as mandarin peel oil, orange flower oil, grapefruit peel oil, tangerine peel oil, fragrance, and limonene. Essential oils are known to be huge irritants and the fact that Ren labels themselves as “clean” and “natural” but puts citrus (possibly the MOST irritating essential oils) into their products is just disappointing. This was the first product I have tried from Ren and due to my experience with this product, I will not be buying any more unless they make changes to their formulas. Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Sodium Lactate, Lactic Acid, Heptyl Glucoside, Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate, Triethyl Citrate, Glyceryl Caprylate, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Benzoic Acid, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Citrus Tangerina (Tangerine) Peel Oil, Heptanol, Parfum* (Fragrance), Limonene

REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Global Day Protectio
My skin type is typically oily with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but with the latest weather fluctuations here in TX my skin has been pretty dry. According to the Sephora website, the purpose of this product is “to combat chronic discomfort, redness, and sensitivity to ensure skin glows with renewed health and stays looking younger for longer.” The texture is a lightweight cream that easily sinks into the skin. I love the anti-aging benefits of this product and how it soothes so skin. I first got this in a trio from a Sephora purchase with a promo code. This does prove a glowy finish, but I’ve been into it lately 😍 this is a great moisturizer that produces future benefits for using it, which is exactly what I’ve been looking for!! I just wish the price was cheaper, but love that THEYRE cruelty free and the ingredients. I love this product and hope to some day purchase a full size. I would recommend this product, especially to those with sensitive skin, and those that are looking for a moistrizer that provides a multitude of benefits. The amount of product you get for the prize is not very big, so not sure if it’s worth the price. The beneficial results and ingredients, along with the company being cruelty free are nice, but not sure how much I can pay with my college budget. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream Price: $49 for 1.7 oz/50 mL Rating: 4/5

Ren’s rich day cream
Ren Global Protection Day Cream is a lovely day cream from clean skincare brand Ren. According to Ren, this cream is good for sensitive skin and can help to combat chronic discomfort, redness and sensitivity. Definitely not oil free, this contains Shea butter, sesame and sunflower oils with a botanical base of chamomile and green tea extracts. The texture of this is just a milky white cream and it is pretty rich. This is honestly one of the most hydrating creams I've found that is meant specifically for day and not night use. I like that it's in a pump rather than a jar. How does it perform? I think this cream is nice and I enjoy using it, but I have dry skin. There is definitely a lot of oil in it, so I would suggest oily skins stay away from this, or just use it as a night cream. One thing I will note is that this is fragrance free, and well, the scent isn't very good. I can't describe it but it's not a pleasant smell. Personally I can only use this as a day cream when my skin is dry (winter or with retinol use) so this isn't the most versatile of my day creams, but as I said before, it could double as a night cream. This cream retails $49 for a full 50ml size which is a little expensive for a basic cream. I'll give this 4/5 stars. It's a nice cream but only for the dryest of skins and I don't find anything special about it. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream

REN CLEAN SKINCARE Evercalm Overnight Recovery B
My skin type is oily with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but since the weather in Texas has been fluctuating recently, my skin has been freaking out and dry lately. The purpose of this is to moisturize the skin, strength the skin barrier, and relieve irritation. The texture of this a very thick balm that easily and quickly melts in your fingertips and when rubbed into the skin. I got this with a code from Sephora since I’ve been wanting to try the brand for forever! I love their philosophy and cruelty free status, plus the ingredients they use. I’ve been using this at nights when my skin needs extra moisture or is feeling dry and it works so well! It does feel heavy on the skin, but I forget about it after a while. I don’t like the feeling of heavy creams on my skin, so that just may be me! Whenever I wake up in the morning after applying this, wow my skin is so hydrated and soft and glowing 😍 I love this product, I feel like this would be great for people with really dry skin! I would recommend this product because it helps people with all skin types, but would be especially helpful for those with dry skin or living in colder climates. This product is def worth the time you have to let it melt in your hands before applying it, plus the glowing and hydrated skin you wake up with in the morning make it worth the price! Although I would save it for special occasions when my skin is really dry or needing extra attention because it’s too expensive to use often. REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm Price: $48 for 1.02 oz/30 mL Rating: 4/5

REN overnight recovery balm
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Overnight Recovery Balm This is a nighttime rescue balm to moisturize the skin, improve skin barrier and help with irritation. It is for all skin types and targets dryness, dullness, uneven texture. It is formulated with lipids from Olive, Almond Borage and Linseed oils; Jojoba and sunflower oil complex; Beta-Glucan. The texture is like a thick balm. I have been using this for a month. I use a small amount at night. The skin feels very nourished, calmed and moisturized in the morning. It didn't break me out and left my face plump and glowy in the morning. It is perfect for winter. I recommend this to anyone who needs hydration for their dry skin especially during winter months. The price is 48$ for 1.02 oz. But its worth it.

Sticky primer
So this isn’t my favorite primer. It’s feels sticky when applied and let to dry. Sort of like having a wet film on your face. It’s cooling at first but then sticky. In terms of longevity of makeup, it’s nothing special. I’ve tried 2$ primers that have worked just as well without the feel of reside on the face. For something that costs $30, I expected more. It’s supposed to create a “smooth canvas” but it doesn’t really. It creates a sticky canvas that makeup gets trapped in and it looks like you have cakes of makeup on. Your pores are more noticeable. Obviously things you don’t want.

REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Perfect Canvas Clean Primer This is a water based primer serum that touts a silicone free formula. REN claims it minimizes pores, controls shine, and extends the wear of makeup. Unfortunately, this did none of those things for me. It being silicone free was the selling point for me since I can’t use silicones and primers that actually extend makeup wear are hard to find! This was a hot mess though. I have used both oil based and water based products but they always end up lifting, pilling, and applying patchy whether I use my fingers, a sponge, or a brush. It also gives me a bunch of little bumps on my forehead after every use - a telltale sign of irritation, no doubt from all of the fragrance in REN products. It also creates a reflective sheen on my face when I don’t apply makeup over it (doubtful it will control shine for oily folks!) and doesn’t make any visible difference for my pores. Maybe this works well with silicone based makeup over it, but to me that kinda defeats the whole point of this being silicone free. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone. I will say that it is nice that REN has repackaged to make it more easily recyclable since I purchased and cut the price, but I’m annoyed I dropped $54 on this a year ago. If packaging added $10 to the product, why did they chose that packaging in the first place?

TOO MUCH WHITECAST
#REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Clean Screen Mattifying Face Sunscreen SPF 30[products]#[ThreeStars] what is it? A mattifying physical sunscreen with SPF 30 My experience: Having oily skin is one of the challenges when looking for a sunscreen, as some feel greasy on my face. I switched to mineral sunscreen since it gives immediate protection upon applying, and REN boasts that this is a clean product, which is nice to know. The huuuge plus is that this sunscreen gives you ✨glow✨ even if it mattifies your skin, but the whitecast is JUST TOO MUCH. You also got to work fast since it kind of has the consistency of a putty when you take your sweet time spreading it on your face. Not to mention it feels sticky on my skin. This tube goes for $38, I’m not going to repurchase this, esp sunscreen is one of those products that needs constant reapplication, and this price point doesn’t make it sustainable for me to keep purchasing this.

Ren Clean Screen
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Clean Screen Mattifying Face Sunscreen SPF 30 The Ren Clean Screen Sunscreen is unique in that it is a matte mineral sunscreen containing no silicones or junk ingredients. It has an SPF of 30. It contains shine-controlling rice starch and antioxidant-rich yellow passion fruit seed. How does it perform? Well this definitely kept my skin very matte. I loved the look of having my skin matte, but I found that after a while this sunscreen pilled up under my makeup. I don't know if I used too much of it but the thing is that for sunscreen to be effective, you have to use a fair amount. This contains rice starch which I guess is why it became a bit starchy and rolled off my face one instance. Texture wise this is a white cream, for me, a fair skinned person, this works ok and serves to even me out a bit but for someone with darker skin I think this might be a drop too white. The cast did go away on me after a while and this played well with makeup at first until it got pilled later. I rate this 4/5 stars. It's a nice mineral sunscreen with no chemical filters and leaves a nice matte finish, just be careful how many layers you use with it so it doesn't flake off. This retails $38 for a 1.7 ounce tube which is pretty standard for a Sephora brand clean sunscreen.

Nice serum but no major results
The REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum is a serum formulated to reduce visible redness and irritation from the skin. It contains calming milk polypeptides and beta glucan to soothe redness and irritation. It has a thin milky serum texture and no fragrance which I love. It sank into the skin nicely and did give a think layer of hydration. While my skin did not get irritated from this serum, I’m not sure I noticed any major improvement in the redness that’s constant in my cheeks. I used up the entire bottle and while I enjoyed it, I don’t think there were any major improvements in my skin. Not enough to justify paying $52 for 1 oz of product. I think there are better products out there to help with skin irritations and redness. I don’t think it’s a necessity. I give this one a 3/5 stars.

REN Clean Skincare Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum
Product: REN Clean Skincare Evercalm™ Anti-Redness Serum Price: $50.00 Product function/target concerns: According to Sephora, this serum was formulated to help provide relief from discomfort and chronic sensitivity and reduce visible redness and irritation. Texture/Consistency: This serum has a creamy, gel-like consistency that is absorbed into the skin quickly. My opinion/recommendation: I was excited to try this product from REN when I received it as a sample size because I struggle with redness, especially when traveling. I have slowly used this product in my carry on skincare/makeup bag over my past several flights/vacations. I like it because it moisturizes my skin without leaving me feel greasy and it sinks in to the skin quickly. However, I don’t think it reduced any of my redness despite its claims. I wouldn’t recommend this product due to the fact that I did not see any results after using it, especially considering it costs $50.REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Evercalm Anti-Redness Serum

Hyped but not for me
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic This is how I heard about REN skincare, from this product. From Instagram and Susan Yara. It’s an AHA exfoliant with lactic acid and lots of different oils. Not a fan of the residue it leaves... it’s sticky. Super sticky. I’m not about that! So I don’t really like it and wouldn’t recommend it. I think the price is good but other exfoliants are better for my skin.

REN – Ready Steady Glow AHA Toner
REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic PRODUCT An AHA based toner that is meant to exfoliate the skin and provide a glow. Suitable for all skin types and targets dullness, texture, and pores. The texture is completely liquid, as is typical of a toner. OPINION REN is a clean skincare brand, so I think an exfoliant/active is a good place to be especially clean because it penetrates into the deeper layers. I had seen rave reviews about this toner and was very excited when I got it in a Sephora Play! box. I have only used it a few times, but I think it is just as effective as any of the AHA toners from the non-clean brands out there, so it is a great option to have! I did feel significant tingling from this one, which is surprising since I use acids pretty frequently. To me, this indicates that the product is working, and I did see great results the next morning. I would recommend this to more “advanced” skincare users. I think the product is well worth it at $38 for 8.5 oz. I give this a 4/5 stars.

Ren Vitamin C cream
Ren Vitamin C Gel Cream is a nice morning vitamin c / antioxidant cream option that I like despite it not disclosing the percentage of vitamin C. Ren describes it as a cream that "not only banishes blemishes to give you a clearer, smoother-looking complexion, but it also boosts skin's luminosity. Vitamin C and magnesium are added to this moisturizer to help even skin tone, prevent hyperpigmentation and hydrate skin. I've tried a lot of products from Ren and this is one of the better ones. It's a light white gel cream and absorbs into the skin quickly. I have felt a little tingling from it so if I had really sensitive skin or some broken areas I would avoid it. Performance wise I don't know how much vitamin C this actually contains, but I've found it left my skin even and moisturized. I haven't used it long enough or consistently enough to see any long term effects and I've alternated with different Vitamin C serums. It has a nice orange smell that's refreshing. This runs $49 for a full 50ml size which is housed in a pump bottle ( so much better than an unsanitary jar!) I'll give this 5/5 stars because I love that I can get my C in a moisturizer, rather than having to layer a moisturizer on top of a drying vitamin C serum. This is a pretty good product. Hydration + pigmentation help for oily skin? Summer can be a good time for lighter skincare formulas a I’ve been testing out the ren skincare Glow Daily Vitamin C Gel Cream. Made by one of my favourite brands, this moisturiser smells quite strongly like orange jelly (which I quite like but those with an intolerance to essential oils may not) and has a cooling, gel-like consistency. While this formula is a mixture of hydrating (water) and moisturising (oil), it perhaps comes down slightly more on the hydration side, meaning that on its own it is not quite rich enough for my currently dry skin. Once I add my normal SPF on top, however, my skin feels moisturised and comfortable, with no oiliness. The product’s active ingredients include ascorbyl glucoside, a highly-stable and water-soluble form of vitamin C thought to be able to slowly brighten skin and tackle hyperpigmentation. Although not as effective as the more potent L-ascorbic acid form of vitamin C, ascorbyl glucoside still acts as an antioxidant- helping to mop up free-radical damage. The formula also contains seabuckthorn oil- a great source of Omegas 3, 6 and 9- to moisturise and soothe inflammation, as well as Diglucosyl Gallic Acid (a benzoic acid derivative) to gently peel and brighten skin. The result is healthy radiance with zero greasiness, perhaps making it best-suited to oily types who want to brighten skin without too much of a glow. Plus points: Cooling gel formula. Its non-oily consistency and antioxidant action also make this great for use in the sun. Paraben, sulphate, detergent, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance and silicone free. Cruelty free. Minuses: Not hugely moisturising so possibly best-suited to combination or oily types.

REN skincare AHA Body serum
REN skincare AHA Body serum
This is a game changing product and everyone must definitely try it out once atleast. It is an AHA body serum with lactic acid as the main Ingredient which not only calms the redness but also makes my arms so smoother rather than bumpy texture. The redness also is visibly less than before. This claims to be serum but its acts as moisturizer because of the presence of Shea butter and exfoliate. I have a whole step which I'm trying and testing out to treat my KP and it's so much better than before and I'm sure this is one of the product which has been a game changer for me.

A beautiful body oil!
A beautiful body oil!
The REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Moroccan Rose Otto Ultra-Moisture Body Oil is a Rose-infused body oil formulated to lock in moisture and give skin a healthy glow. It’s target to moisturize dry skin and prevent premature aging. It has a thin oil texture and has a lovely light rose scent. It is pretty thin so would usually pump it directly onto my skin. Pumping it into my hands would usually cause a mess. I would usually apply this when I had a little time to get ready before getting dressed because it is an oil it takes a little more time than lotion to sink into the skin. But I didn’t kind that because it’s super quick to apply and leave my skin SO hydrated. I love that it’s part of clean at Sephora and comes in recyclable glass packaging. It is super pricey at $68 and I got this at a discount at TJ Maxx. I’m not sure I would pay full price for it though. If you’re willing to splurge I would definitely recommend it. I give this product a 4/5 stars purely for it being a little messy and expensive.

Tri Phase Jelly Cleanser
Tri Phase Jelly Cleanser
What is it? REN CLEAN SKINCARE - Perfect Canvas Clean Jelly Oil Cleanser is A tri-phase (jelly to oil to milk) cleanser formulated to remove makeup, sunscreen and pollution. Key Ingredients: Grape Seed Oil, Meadowfoam Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Extract The positives 👍🏼: I like the jelly/balm-y texture of this. I enjoyed the changes in texture of this product while cleansing. It has the same consistency as Vaseline, then turns into oil when applied to skin. Add a tiny bit of warm water then it emulsifies into a milky texture. It also does a great job erasing my makeup. I wear light makeup tho so I don’t know how efficient is this product in removing heavy or even waterproof makeup 🤷🏻‍♀️ The downsides 👎 : First of all, the fragrance puts me off. It’s has a clean floral(?) scent that is too overpowering. Second, it leaves my skin still oily after emulsifying it. The website says that it is an emollient to soften the skin, but it makes me more greasy especially for someone with oily skin like me. I had to rinse it again and follow up with my fave cleanser. love how my skin feels soft after my second cleanse tho. 😅
