Clean beauty 💜
Although I love clean beauty, I don't necessarily rely on it to buy or use it. My beauty routine is based on a retinol brand that is not clean beauty. Clean beauty had a lot of impact a few years ago when the people began to realize that everything we put on the skin or hair was absorbed by the body. It’s very valid to think about this since many people can get irritated with certain ingredients and from others could be fine. It’s basis is not to use chemicals that could be toxic or harmful to health and to use ingredients as natural as possible. Although many companies often say that their products are clean, we must always check that what they tell us is real, since they could be using it as a sales strategy. I have clean products that I love and would really buy again. I like clean products.

🌸Pink to brighten your week!
🌸A product I really want to highlight is the dry shampoo by Organically Wonderful!! It’s an organic, aerosol-free powder spray with a coconut 🥥 vanilla scent! What I love is the simple ingredient list and I don’t feel like I’m breathing in this dry shampoo when I use it! 🌸It takes a bit of work to rub it into my strawberry blonde/red hair but it helps if you apply the night before and let it soak up the oil! And I have fine hair so I appreciate the grit/volume it gives my hair—Perfect for braids! 🗣I used to use Batiste dry shampoo and I felt like I went through them every month but this dry shampoo I’ve been using for over a month and haven’t made a dent! It claims to last 6 months with daily use!! 💰$22 but here’s the best part they sell refills for $12!!! And also comes unscented 🌸I will be repurchasing and you guys need to check out this brand!!! Their Everybody Oil is 👌 Organically WONDERFUL - Coconut Vanilla Dry Shampoo

Worth the hype? Drunk Elephant 🐘
🐘Honestly I’m not impressed. These products are talked about all the time and I wanted to love them but they just seemed ordinary and over priced! 👎 🟣DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser It’s a fine cleanser but nothing special... just an average second cleanser 💰 $32 for 5oz is ridiculous! 🧼instead try CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin $10.99 for 12oz— it doesn’t the same thing and you can get it at Target 🟣DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer Again, it’s an average fragrance-free moisturizer 💰$68 for 1.7oz— no thanks!!! 🧴 instead try VERSED - SKIN SOAK Rich Moisture Cream $18 for 1.5 oz —to me, they do exactly the same thing, hydrate my skin without irritation 🟣DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum So I like this product the most but I’m not in love with it either. For how expensive it is I didn’t see amazing results and there are so many other chemical exfoliators out there for less!!! 💰$90 for 1oz Instead save your money and try any other chemical exfoliator!!! Some examples include: VERSED - THE SHORTCUT Overnight Facial Peel 🙌 this one has glycolic and lactic acid and is $20 pixi - Skintreats Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner $15 and is also a glycolic treatment 🗣bottom line: read ingredient lists and see if it’s worth the big bucks 💵 or find similar products 🐘 if you love these products let me know why! What else should I try from Drunk Elephant?

Thanks mom
Mask kinda looks/feels sticky. Xmas present being put to use. My acne has definitely leveled off somewhat since I started using sukari babyfacial but still waiting on pore results...DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask

Drunk elephant | TLC Baby facial mask
🐘What it is? Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ 25% AHA + 2% BHA Mask 🐘Key Ingredient: 25% AHA+2%BHA, can effectively exfoliate dead surface skin, stimulate the regeneration of new cells to achieve a brighter and more youthful appearance. 🐘My Thought: I have oily skin and prone to acne, and often get breakouts from clogged pores caused by excessive oil production. I know AHA and BHA are good at solving this concern, so I did not hesitate to give it a chance when I knew this product. As you can see in the pic, its texture is a yellow paste which is hard to spread. When I first applied it, I felt a tingling sensation, especially on my nose area. All the acids will have such a feeling, so you really don't need to worry. Now I have been using this mask for almost 2 months, 1-2 times a week. I have to say that my skin does have some visible changes. My clogging problem has been greatly improved, and acne spots have also faded a lot. I'm not sure all the credit goes to this mask, but I really appreciate it. As for the anti-aging benefits, I haven’t had any fine lines and wrinkles yet, so I can't tell you some useful feedback. Anyway, if you are not sensation skin and want a product that can tackle with multiple skin problems, I think this mask deserves a chance.

B-Hydra💧
B-Hydra was the first @drunkelephant product I started using when I first picked up their littles to try everything out. It did not irritate my sensitive skin at all and made me feel confident to continue to slowly try more of their line. I was recently traveling and ran out of my second mini and wasn’t able to replace it immediately and went 5 days without it. I’m glad this happened because I was able to see how it affected my skin after not having it for the first time in months. I noticed that my skin looked and felt less hydrated and I felt I had to add some extra moisture in other areas. As someone with dry skin, I will continue to purchase this since I appreciate the hydration that it offers.

Is clean always better?
Is clean always better? I personally don’t think so! Clean is a broad term used for products that avoid certain ingredients like fragrance, parabens, SLS, alcohols, phthalates and such. But this doesn’t guarantee a product or certain ingredient is safe and fine for your skin. Take Drunk Elephant, they have their Suspicious 6 ingredients they won’t Include...... yet their product hurt my skin and broke me out. Why? L Ascorbate Acid is too strong or harsh of a vitamin c for my skin to handle. It’s a clean ingredient, but doesn’t work for me. Don’t be fooled by clean! While it could be a great way to avoid certain chemicals you don’t like or could more guarantee a cruelty free product, your skin could still react. DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum

Product claims vs my thoughts!
The drunk elephant C-Firma vitamin c day serum is a super potent vitamin c day serum packed with a powerful antioxidant complex, essential nutrients, fruit enzymes, and a chronopeptide that mimics the antioxidant benefits of vitamin D, all working together to firm and brighten the appearance of skin, while improving the signs of photo aging! This serum can be solutions for uneven skin tone, loss of firmness and elasticity and dullness and uneven texture. The texture of this is a thick gel serum that is really soft on the skin. I really love using this serum in the morning because it will stay active on your skin for up to 72 hours! I bought the drunk elephant minis set about 8 months ago with this in it and loved it when I first used it, and am gonna repurchase the full size soon. It is very hydrating and didn’t break me out. I saw great results, I had a brighter and firmer complexion over time as I used this! I would defiantly recommend this serum because of its amazing results and ingredients. It is totally worth purchasing but is on the more pricey side. It is $80 for 1oz which doesn’t seem worth the money but it really has amazing results! This serum is amazing at clearing all the ✅dullness on my face, I really see a huge difference my face looks 100% brighter when I use this serum! It also does a great job of getting rid of any ✅uneven texture on my face which is absolutely amazing! I saw a big difference the morning after using it! The only thing this serum claims to do but doesn’t do very well is ❎fine lines and wrinkles, I know a lot of products claim to help reduce wrinkles but some don’t really do just that and this is one of those products! Ease and convenience is what you want when traveling so meet your perfect travel buddy - DRUNK ELEPHANT - The Littles Set Pros - perfect travel sized - some have lasted me 6mths using nightly - effective products - overall great products for dry, sensitive skin - easily fits in a travel bag - provide a whole routine - c-firma, tlc framboos and lala retro whipped have become staples - allows you to tear products before buying full sized Cons - not a fan of all the products - cleanser to drying for my skin - marula is to thick for my personally feels like it breaks me out DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum & DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum C-firma and B hydra are an incredible duo! I apply them together and after they absorb my skin looks so glowy! C-firma is my overall favourite it has helped even out my skin tone and with acne scars. Great morning duo - quick perfect duo! DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum This one grew on me! I have found using nightly this products is gentle enough it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin and it have broken me out. Such a good exfoliator definitely helped with texture in my forehead and cheeks. Plus has helped calm my active acne and scars. My skin has looked incredible since using this product nightly. DRUNK ELEPHANT - A-Passioni Retinol Cream Lovely retinol! My skin has been trained to handle retinol so I never had issues like reddens, flaking or irritation after using this product. Doesn’t have a noticeable scent. Definitely helps with active acne and scaring. Overall would definitely recommend people to buy DRUNK ELEPHANT - The Littles Set it makes a get travel buddy but also allows you to tear out drunk elephant products without have to buy full sized products!

Clean Beauty......
To me clean beauty has been the #1 focus for my skincare, Haircare and makeup routine. For over a year now I always look for the “clean at Sephora” tag, clean or natural wording on a product or shop at my local clean beauty/health food store. So you would think I’m a big advocate right? Surprisingly no. I don’t personally think “clean beauty” makes a difference. What really should be the focus is ingredients per person. Fragrance could be fine for one person, but irritate another. Dimethicone, octinoxate, phenoxyethanol or ascorbic acid can irritate some skin and be fine for others. Pineapple, cantaloupe, lemon, lavender can be saviours for some and terrifying for others. So clean beauty is about not using the nasties or maybe using more natural ingredients and while that could be a saving grace for someone it can also be unnecessary and less effective for someone else. I would rather see things like “fragrance free” “silicone free” “essential oils free” so that people can more clearly target their issues instead of just trusting a blanket term. ✌🏻

Slaai the Day Away 💚
I don’t always wear makeup, but when I do, I always use Drunk Elephant’s Slaai Makeup Melting Butter cleanser to remove it as part of my double cleanse routine. I haven’t used makeup remover wipes in almost two years now, as I try to be more eco friendly and reduce waste, and I feel like they don’t cleanse the skin properly. I have tried oils, balms, cleansers.. I’ve tried them all, but nothing compares to Slaai. If it wasn’t for the fact that so many raved about this product, at first glance I probably would of passed on purchasing this product for the simple fact that it is a cleansing balm, and I haven’t had the best experiences using balms in the past; I feel like a lot of them leave a greasy film on the skin. Slaai removes makeup in a surprisingly effortless way. I take a generous scoop, rub it in between my hands to loosen up the balm and break it down into an oil form, and then work it into my skin for about a minute. I have seen even the toughest, long lasting, waterproof mascara that would normally be a B**** to remove just melt away - no more aggressive rubbing and pulling on the skin, no more burning eyes, no more skin irritation, and no more redness. Formulated using clean, antioxidant rich fruit extracts and a blend of oils, these ingredients work together to not only cleanse, but moisturize the skin as well. If my skin is feeling rough, or has texture, I will add in Bamboo Booster to the Slaai, which is a super gentle, yet effective exfoliant that removes dead skin cells. I enjoy this formula so much that I have been known to use it even on days when I’m not wearing any makeup, just because it does such a great job at cleansing & moisturizing, leaving you with glowy skin. This product retails for $34 and contains 110 grams of product in the full size component. The full size generally lasts me close to 5 months, taking into consideration that I do alternate with other cleansers on days I don’t wear makeup. You can purchase Slaai directly through Drunk Elephant or at Sephora. If I could give this product 10 stars, I would - I have ZERO complaints!

Hyped products that missed the mark!
Ok so as someone who started their skincare obsession with Drunk Elephant & as a cleansing balm enthusiast, I really wanted to love this, but I just can’t. Truthfully I’ve only used this 3-4 times but I honestly can’t even imagine using it more because of how much I disliked it. I had a very hard time emulsifying this on my skin & found it left an oily layer on my face afterwards. Also, found it smelt like canola oil, I understand that it’s a cleansing oil balm, but I’m not trying to smell like a kitchen sooo not my favourite thing either. I know this isn’t the case for everyone, but this just ain’t the cleansing balm for me!

Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi
I finally picked up D-Bronzi! As my skin has started to improve, I’ve been wanting an option other than the typical foundations. What’s great about D-Bronzi is you can mix a little bit into your favorite moisturizer and you have the most beautiful glowing facial cream, no need for a foundation! I also like that I can add a few drops to my current foundation that is just a tad to light for me as I have been using tanning drops and I don’t need to purchase another foundation shade. I can create my own. With the best glow!

Brand Spotlight: Drunk Elephant 🐘
Brand Spotlight: Drunk Elephant Drunk Elephant. You may know her, you may love her, you may hate her. I discovered this brand in 2018 by perusing the Sephora bestsellers page and reading reviews on Protini Peptide Cream. I bought it because I was desperate and it actually worked so obviously I assumed the entire line would work for me and be a godsend...flash forward to now. If you go back through my profile you will find reviews of Lippe, Lala, Slaai, and Beste, so I won’t be highlighting them here. Products I’ll be reviewing: B-Hydra Hydration Serum D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Drops Protini Polypeptide Cream The good, the bad, and the ugly: THE UGLY: DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum Honestly when I first started using this serum it was my first Hyaluronic acid serum I ever used. I mixed it into my morning “smoothie” of Protini and D-Bronzi and slathered it all over. Even though I felt a difference in my skin while using it, I’m not sure I can solely credit this product for doing so. It contains a high content of niacinamide that actually helps to stop oil/sebum production in your skin. The texture is lightweight yet sticky if not used in a DE “smoothie.” I ended up swapping B-Hydra out of my routine and swapping in the Ordinary’s Hyaluronic acid 2% + B5 serum and saw an instant improvement in the hydration levels in my skin. So while I believe B-Hydra did SOMETHING, $52 for something that a $7 product does better is an all around scam. I said what I said! THE BAD: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer Honesty is the best policy... Protini is very hit or miss for me. It’s a TOTAL HIT when I mix it with a facial oil or my skin is more likely to produce oils like the summertime. When I started using Protini into the cold winter months, my GOD I broke out so badly. Didn’t change my routine at all. Just swapped out Protini for Lala and my skin healed up in a week and stayed clear. I also notice an increase in facial hair when I use Protini which doesn’t bother me so much as it just causes an inconvenience. The texture itself is super light but it feels really hydrating when mixed with an oil. It also smells like yeast so that’s a bit off putting. It is great for the summer for me but in the winter it’s a flop. THE GOOD!! (Omg finally): DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops D-Bronzi: wow when I first heard of this I thought it was an instant scam. I started using this product as a mix in to my morning “smoothie” or my super white SPF formulas. The difference I notice when this is in my routine is night and day. In the winter I’m too pale to add this in but in the summer it’s like, INSTANT GLOW! & the air pollution in my area is so bad there is a real noticeable difference in my skin tone when I use this. I’m not sure if it would help those who don’t suffer from bad air pollution though! Have you tried anything from Drunk Elephant? Any faves? Any hates?

Clean Beauty 🤷‍♀️ what is it
Clean Beauty 🤷‍♀️ what is it
What does clean beauty mean to you? It’s super confusing to me! 🙋‍♀️ One brand that is known for using the term consistently is Drunk Elephant. But that’s all changed. They have now dropped “acleanbreak” for “drunkbreak.” What does this mean? To me it’s just more promotion for them. From their IG post I didn’t derive much. They are still saying all the same things they always have they just dropped “clean” and added part of their brand name, “drunk.” Now I am a fan of several of their products but even as and avid Farmacy Beauty lover (also known as clean beauty) I firmly believe there is not a one size fits all brand out there. And Drunk Elephant believes that using their “clean” skincare, minus the “suspicious6” they have also claimed, you will see nothing but wonderful results. Steer from their advice and you’ll have issues, so they say. That’s where they loose me. Clean Beauty. For me, the less ingredients the better! Cruelty free, I’m in! I am the first to admit I have A LOT to learn about ingredients and what qualifies as clean but I look forward to this forum and hearing others opinions. Also, my favorite Drunk Elephant product...I’d probably go with DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer But for me the brand is too overpriced. 👎
