Top Cleansers of 2020!
Starting off with my top first cleanses because it’s important to double cleanse!!! Top Oil Cleanse: TATCHA - Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser This cleanser is one that I won’t stop talking about. It’s a great texture that emulsifies easily and doesn’t leave a film on my skin at all. It’s pricey, but it’s an experience. Top Cleansing Balm: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm I picked this up while travelling (sigh... early 2020...) and I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. I’m very much one to not buy into the hype of products, but now I understand why there is so much hype! It’s a sorbet texture that emulsifies and doesn’t leave a film on the skin! Top Misc. First Cleanse: Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser This is a new find from me, but none the less, it’s amazing. This cleanser is very unique, because it’s one that you don’t have to rinse... let me explain. So this as a milky cleanser that melts away face and eye makeup or SPF, but can we wiped away with a face cloth, like a Makeup Eraser. I honestly didn’t think that this would work, but I’m actually very surprised by this. I was sent this product by the DDG team and am featured in a video on the @ddgcanadateam instagram using this cleanser, go check it out to learn more! And now with the second cleanses. New Favourite: skinfix - Barrier+ Foaming Oil Cleanser This was actually more of a new find because I began using this in September. At first, I was confused because of the “foaming oil cleanser” title. I went to use this as my first cleanse one night and it went horribly. Now that I know that this is a second cleanse, I use it almost every night. This and my FOREO - LUNA fofo pair amazing together. OG Favourite: comfort zone - comfort zone Essential Cleansing Milk I got a facial done around May, and the aesthetician used this product, I instantly fell in love. This does have a smell to it, but it’s so lovely. This is gentle and hydrating so I don’t have to worry about my skin being dry, red and irritated. Love this stuff!

🐡Body Acne🐡
From bacne (acne on your back) to buttne (acne on your backside - yep, it's a thing) body spots can be pretty rubbish to deal with. Even worse? When the warm weather makes an appearance, your playsuits come out of hibernation and suddenly you're showing off a little more flesh than usual. How To Get Rid Of Back Acne Swap Out Your Current Body Wash That ultra-creamy, coconut-scented shower gel may feel seriously luxe, but if it doesn't contain zit-zapping ingredients such as salicylic acid (a BHA that exfoliates the skin's surface layer and unblocks pores of sebum and dead skin), glycolic acid (an AHA that dissolves the upper layer of dead skin cells to prevent spots and to blur red marks left behind by acne), and lactic acid (also an AHA with the same skin-smoothing, spot-preventing credentials as glycolic acid, just a little gentler on skin), then it might not be doing your body acne any good. Acids like these prevent dead skin cells from building up and blocking your pores. Use a non-comedogenic body lotion You don't have to give up the moisturiser to keep breakouts at arms length - just make sure you choose the right one - that means ditching the unctuous, oily creams. In layman’s terms, “non-comedogenic” simply means non-pore-clogging. This is important when choosing products that stay on your skin all day or night, such as body lotion. When applied to your chest, non-comedogenic body lotion can help hydrate the skin without causing acne. Some lotions even contain small amounts of salicylic acid to get rid of preexisting breakouts. You may also want to avoid fragrances that can irritate your skin. Try spot treatments Spot treatments can help chest acne breakouts by shrinking pimples and healing the underlying inflammation. Over-the-counter (OTC) spot treatments abound, and most of these contain either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Of these two ingredients, salicylic acid is preferable because benzoyl peroxide is a notorious for bleaching clothing. There’s a risk of toxicity when salicylic acid is applied to large areas, so make sure you limit it to spot treatments when using it in the chest area. You can also consider some of the following home and natural remedies. Before applying any remedy on your chest, try a patch test to make sure it doesn’t cause any negative reaction. Choose a small spot on your arm and wait 24 hours to see if any rash or irritation develops. Cinnamon and honey Cinnamon and honey can potentially create a powerful acne-fighter when applied to the chest. Cinnamon has antimicrobial capabilities, and raw honey can work as a bacteria-fighting agent. Together, these can reduce bacteria and inflammation that lead to acne. These are safe to use weekly or as needed for new blemishes. To whip this up, mix 1 teaspoon of cinnamon with 2 tablespoons of raw honey until it forms a paste. You can apply the mask all over your chest and rinse off after 30 minutes, or you can use it as an overnight spot treatment. Mud or charcoal If you’d rather use a natural treatment that’s already made in a bottle, consider a mask that’s made of mud or charcoal. These can work as all-over treatments or they can be used on a few spots on your chest. Both mud and charcoal fight acne by drawing out impurities. These ingredients may also soften your skin at the same time. One example is the Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask. Use once a week for best results.

Are you dealing with butt acne? Read this!
-Hi! Thanks for reading me in advance. ✨- Buttne is a shorthand for butt acne. Which is a very common and uncomfortable skin condition so don’t feel bad about it. 😋 In addition of giving you a very bad bump in your butt it is also very painful and itchy as well. Butt acne is not usually the common acne, is a folliculitis. What is a folliculitis? Well, is a mild infection of the hair follicle that leads to pus pimples or red bumps. This non regular pimple are caused by a combination of your follicles getting blocked and a bacterial infection. Sometimes the causes are very gross, or they can be a “wait, really!?” 😳 If you keep your wet sweaty clothes after you hit the gym, then expect buttne. If you spend long hours sitting down, then this friction and irritation will cause those follicles to get clogged. If your case is wearing undies past their time, which is gross, but totally expect Buttne with this. Do not wear tight-fitting clothes too much either! This traps sweat and oil against your skin, which... you know what can happen. Let’s say you have these, well there is not problem with it. We got the solution! 😗 I suggest you to try these at home options to help your peach look better. 🙊 Try a salicylic acid body wash. This will help you to unclogged those pores by exfoliating your skin. You can also try to target your butt with a benzoyl peroxide body wash. This is very effective to treat acne and folliculitis because of its antimicrobial ingredients. You can also bright up acne marks with glycolic acid. Try to moisturize your butt with a lactic acid lotion whenever you get the chance. Don’t feel scare, this won’t clog your pores. If you shave, try to shave the right way. Don’t go against the grain of your hair. If these solutions or any other don’t work. Then a consultation with a dermatologist will help you more. :) I useful tip is to leave the acne medication sit on your skin for 8-10 minutes. This way it can penetrate the skin before washing it off. Maybe put the product before you step on the shower, shampoo your hair, condition your hair, maybe shave, sing some songs. And then wash it off :) Some good products for Buttne: PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength Neutrogena - Rapid Clear Stubborn Acne Cream Cleanser PETER THOMAS ROTH - Max Complexion Salicylic Acid Pore Refining Pads skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub Amlactin - Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion I hope this little info helps you out! Let me know if you try them, and which one worked for you! :) There is not shame on having Buttne. I myself have experience this and is totally normal! Enjoy your day! 🥰

To our least favorite thing to come out of 2020
⠀ You’re a pest, no one invited you and you have definitely exceeded your stay! ⠀ This year I have found myself purchasing products to prevent acne more than I ever have. I thought I would share some of my #top2020skincare products that have helped me kick mascnes a** the most. ⠀ 🍷 @theinkeylist salicylic acid cleanser: this cleanser not only gets rid of my acne spots but it does it without drying out or irritating my skin. THE inkey LIST - Salicylic Acid Acne + Pore Cleanser ⠀ 🍷 @skinfixinc triple lipid peptide cream: the biggest thing when getting rid of mascne is to remember to keep your skins barrier hydrated. We are using so many bhas and acids that it can dry out your skin. I love this moisturizer because not only is it hydrating but it includes a peptide protein blend to fight free radicals as well as vital lipids fo keep your skin glowing and smooth. skinfix - Barrier+ Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream ⠀ 🍷 @farmacybeauty deep sweep is my favorite bha toner to exfoliate and clean out my pores. FARMACY - Deep Sweep 2% BHA Pore Cleaning Toner With Moringa + Papaya ⠀ 🍷 @innisfreeusa sunscreen: sunscreen is always the most important step. It not only protects your skin from the sun but it also prevents your hyperpigmentation spots from getting darker. If your not using sunscreen you might as well throw your entire skincare routine in the trash. innisfree - Daily UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 36 ⠀ 🍷 Wine: when all else fails pour yourself a glass of wine, get yourself a cute Christmas mask (to hide the mascne of course) and pray that this pandemic is over soon! ⠀ What’s your favorite product that has helped you combat mascne?! Mine is definitely the wine! Barefoot Pinot Grigio

Say goodbye to bumpy skin!!
I’ve been using this duo for the past 2 weeks and the skin on the back of my legs & butt has never been more smooth! These are perfect for anyone who suffers from keratosis pilaris. The scrub is used 2-3x a week on dry skin and then washed off in the shower. Helps exfoliate the skin with a fine physical exfoliant but also includes glycolic and lactic acid to help brighten/smooth and help increase cell turnover. The particles are so fine this never causes any irritation on my skin. The only reason I am not giving the scrub 5 stars is because for the amount I use on my body the price seems kind of steep at 40$ CAD. This body cream is a DREAM. If you had to choose just one of these products I’d go with this. It has a rich creamy texture and has a natural AHA blend to help smooth out any bumpy textures but also gives amazing hydration. I noticed results after using this cream for only a few days! Will 100% repurchase this product. I sometimes will get a bit of acne on my butt/ behind my legs and this has helped clear it up!

Skin Concerns: Bumpy Skin
I have suffered from Keratosis Pilaris (KP) for many years, but I did not know what it was until recently. It is essentially a condition that makes your hair follicles on certain parts of your body get clogged with keratin. Therefore, I constantly have little bumps all over the front and back of my thighs. It is noticeable and causes me to constantly pick at my legs, so I knew I had to find something to combat it! The main thing most people (and my dermatologist) recommend is putting on a lotion that contains leave-on exfoliants that clear your pores of the keratin plugs. I have tried a few over the years, and these are my favorites! For a cost-effective option I would definitely go with the Gold Bond Rough & Bumpy Skin Lotion. It works very well and comes in a huge tub! Now, all of these lotions are pretty thick to apply, but this one is probably the thickest and the one that absorbs the worst. But, it is so much cheaper than the other options so I definitely still recommend it. The other two are a little thinner, but are about 5x more expensive than the Gold Bond (~$50). They both work very well as well! The key with these types of products is to use them consistently. If you just use it once a week it is not going to have the best results, you need to use it over time to see the bumps disappear!

"Your skin is 90% of your selfie. Take care of it" Let me introduce you to my holy grail skincare brand: Skinfix! @Skinfix is a brand endorsed by dermatologists as skin barrier experts and focuses on clean skincare products. I was introduced to the #Skinfix barrier+ line over a year ago when my skin took a turn for the worse. I was diagnosed with Rosacea and didn't know what was going on with my skin. It was red, bumpy, irritated, and an overall mess. I was recommended the barrier+ line and I have used it religiously for the last year and let me tell you...it has TRANSFORMED MY SKIN! What sets this skincare line apart from the rest is that it works to repair the barrier of your skin. What causes our skin's barrier to get damaged? Over-exfoliation, age, emotional stress, environmental stress, and the list goes on. Foaming oil cleanser: Don't let the name fool you it is not oily! It is easy to use, gentle, milky and cleanses my face without stripping my natural oils. It removes my makeup and leaves my face feeling so soft and hydrated. Triple Lipid-Hyaluronate Serum: This serum literally makes my skin feel like I drank 4 litres of water! The surge of hydration it gives me is like no other. It is lightweight and not greasy at all! My skin hasn't glowed this much ever! Lipid-Peptide Cream: If you want hydration without that greasy heavy feel...You need this cream in my life! It's a miracle in a bottle, to be honest. It's so hydrating that it has gotten me through the harshest of winters but light enough to continue using in the Summer months. It is fragrance-free and a staple in my skincare routine. Lipid Boost 360 Eye: Absorbs quickly into the skin. Reduces puffiness leaving my eyes feeling bright and smooth. I have also noticed that it has diminished the look of my fine lines and wrinkles as well. Redness Recovery + Antioxidant Redness Treatment Overnight Mask: This mask cools and calms my redness down immediately. It is not heavy on the skin and I've been able to stop using topical antibiotic creams that I was prescribed for my rosacea because of this mask! Highly recommend.

Skinfix thoughts
𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫+ ⁣ ⁣ 𝘣𝘺 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘪𝘹⁣ ⁣ I received the Skinfix Lipid Boost 360 degrees eye cream in my January Trendmood V.2 (January) box, which I purchased. It is such a great formula - no scent, pump packaging, lightweight, yet moisturizing. It layers well under makeup for day and under/over any skincare at night. I used it everyday for over a month straight.⁣ ⁣ I was also really excited to try out the Foaming Oil Cleanser in the same line, which was kindly gifted by Skinfix. This is a beautiful formula! I don’t always do a double cleanse, and this is able to remove makeup and everything else on my face without drying out my skin. It doesn’t foam too much, and doesn’t leave the skin tight. It’s a very nice cleanser. ⁣ ⁣ Overall, I’m loving the new aesthetic of the brand. I love the pump packaging, it’s clean and functional. I love that the formulas are non irritating, and without any fragrance. I have normal skin that leans oily during the summer and dry during the winter, and I can see these products transitioning seamlessly into warmer months. I can’t wait to see what else they release!⁣ ⁣ The oil cleanser was a pr sample.

Derm doc’s tips and faves for dry hands ✨
Anyone else experiencing dry hands like me? Winter is a common time for dry hands and hand dermatitis, but especially this year with the increased hand washing due to COVID. While there are multiple causes for hand dermatitis, COVID related dry hands are most likely due to contact dermatitis which comes in two forms. Allergic contact dermatitis is when we see a true allergy to an ingredient, preservative, metal, etc. More often than not, we are seeing a lot of irritant contact dermatitis in clinic lately in which the increased use of soap/alcohol is causing an impaired skin barrier and removing natural moisturizing factor from the epidermis—allowing the irritants to cause further inflammation. Swipe right to see some easy tips on how to improve hand dryness and my favorite products Comment below with your favorite hand treatments ✨skinfix - Eczema+ Hand Repair Cream Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant Vaseline - 100% Pure Petroleum Jelly, Original Neutrogena - Norwegian Formula Fragrance Free Hand Cream CeraVe - Healing Ointment CeraVe - Therapeutic Hand Cream

Happy hands day and night
This last year I started getting eczema so bad on my knuckles, knees and elbows. Oils just weren’t doing the trick. These two hand creams have been seriously saving my hands from cracking and bleeding. They’re on totally opposite ends of the spectrum if you’re comparing. First Aid Beauty ultra repair cream is like the og hand cream you would imagine. Smooth, white texture, leaving just the slightest bit of oily residue, packed with dimethicone to lock in the moisture. Skinfix eczema hand repair cream is more like the og’s hippy aunt, but you wouldn’t tell from the packaging. It’s smooth balm-like texture leaves more of a matte finish, and smells more naturals delicious. Dimethicone free! I have been using the ultra repair cream overnight, and the eczema cream during the day. I wish I would have taken a before photo, because my hands look incredibly different.. in a good way.

Crack in lips that didn’t go away for years...
To understand me.... I am an average person that eats an average blah diet. I began getting this big crack in the middle of my bottom lip YEARS ago. It will bleed over night and it’s very painful. It is YEAR round. I have tried everything : Vaseline, chapsticks, nipple cream, regular lotion, vitamin B12 pills, other vitamins, lots of water... I’d given up. I got this as a sample in a Sephora box sample set. I used the products one night and thought “what the hell” - I put a decent amount of this on my lips. It didn’t sting or burn - something I usually endure when I put stuff on my lips. I went to bed with zero expectations. I woke up and saw a visible difference - it hadn’t cracked or bled during the night. I repeated and the next day was very happy with the results. I use it weekly now. My lips have no bled since I first used this product. If I used it daily I would have gorgeous lips perfect for matte lipsticks but I’m trying to save this product (and let’s be real I get lazy) Try this !skinfix - Barrier+ Lip Repair Balm

SkinFix Lip Balm for dry, chapped lips
I have typically oily skin with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but has been more dry lately due to the weather. My lips are one of the place that feels the dryness the most, so I constantly am wanting to try new lip balms to try and help. This claims to be a lightweight lip balm that is deeply nourishing that smooths, softens, and banishes dry lips on contact. I got this in a pack of - that had various scents/flavors and was on clearance at Ulta and needed a certain amount to get a gift with purchase, so I decided to give these a try. This is the fragrance free version, so no scent. I wanted to love this, but it’s easily the worst lip balm I’ve ever tried. It was so thick and hard to get out of the tube, plus even harder to spread across your lips. Whenever you managed to that, it literally just sat on top of your lips and moved around whenever I moved my lips, so it gets in your mouth. I would put this on at night and wake up in the morning with this still just sitting on my lips and my lips still chapped. I didn’t like this product at all, I don’t want a lip balm that just sits on my lips. I wouldn’t recommend this at all because you get no hydration at all, just your lips feeling the same way. This isn’t worth any sort of money because it does nothing. skinfix - Barrier+ Lip Repair Balm Price: $6.99 for 3 pack Rating: 1/5

mini reviews
I have some mini reviews ready today!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The first is the GOOD MOLECULES - Caffeine Energizing Hydrogel Eye Patches They tend to send me their new launches, and I’ll admit I was waiting by the door for these. They don’t slide around on my face, aren’t sticky, and the essence sinks in pretty fast. My undereyes look plump when I use these, like I’ve gotten the most sleep imaginable. Would totally recommend these, as they only run about $18 for 30 pairs.⁣ ⁣ The next three mini reviews are some products from skinfix that I have been using — TLDR; they’re all great for dry skin. The Lipid Boost Jelly is one of the best hydration serums I’ve ever used, and the dermatitis face balm is incredible on my dry patches and flare ups. Last but not least, the 911 ointment is an all-purpose salve that I use on everything, from dry hands to itchy legs, random bumps on my chest or arms or cracked feet!⁣ ⁣ These were all gifted by the brands with no strings attached!

Skinfix part 2!
Skinfix part 2!
My last post I talked about the Skinfix Resurface lotion and this post is about the scrub! This scrub is meant to be used right before you get in the shower as a dry scrub in a circular motion wherever you feel like you need it! I like to scrub it on my arms and sometimes my legs to get that extra exfoliating before shaving. This scrub feels gentle but rough at the same time & doesn’t irritate and comes off so nicely in the shower and leaves your skin so soft immediately. Pair this with the lotion & you should see it working it’s magic soon 🤩 P.S haven’t had them long enough to speak on the results but will update soon! skinfix - Resurface+ Glycolic Renewing Scrub

This product fixed my strawberry legs
skinfix - Resurface+ AHA Renewing Cream Scrolling on Sephora, I was looking for a product that could help my rough and bumpy legs. I often get ingrown hairs and irritation from shaving. I came across this AHA lotion from skinfix and decided to give it a try. Firs off, the product is a huge tub. You definitely get bang for your buck because this would last me so long. I’ve had it for a month so far and it looks like I’ve barely put a dent in it. I wasn’t expecting this to have a scent to be honest because I thought it was going to be for sensitive skin. I didn’t like the lime scent at first, but now I really enjoy it. The scent actually doesn’t irritate my legs as I thought it would and I enjoy it now! It smells so much like a margarita! After almost 1 month if pretty consistent use, I can say that I’ve seen results! I’ve paired the use of this with a body scrub on my legs and while my legs aren’t perfectly smooth, they’re definitely better! My legs are way less itchy and irritated after shaving and my skin tone is a lot more even. My legs are drastically less red and bumpy! I wish I had a before and after but I didn’t even think of snapping a before photo! My only downside to this product is that its a bit expensive. $45 is a lot for a body lotion. As an alternative, I think people would see results with the Cerave SA lotion. While it’s a BHA not an AHA, I think the results would be comparable.

Hard Feelings for Skinfix
Hard Feelings for Skinfix
I was really excited to try this product which I had revived just a few weeks ago, but so far I haven't received any of its benefits. However, I am giving it the benefit of the doubt as my skin isn't super pale to which all redness manifests. Skinfix claims this would calm and soothe inflamed skin as well as retract redness. I will say I felt some calm to the skin but I want to continue to see how long this would take to get results. For the price, I am not sure if I would find it worth it as I think irritation and redness can probably be fixed with a good routine that would cost equivalent to this one product. The texture is lightweight and I do like it's hydrating properties. At this time, I do not think I'd recommend this product.

All the resurface+ products have a light lime scent, which I really like, but obviously fragrances aren’t for everyone so definitely important to note. I initially started using just the lotion, and it blew my expectations out of the water, the texture alone is so thick, a little goes a very long way so this has lasted me sooo long! It takes a little bit of time to absorb but it leaves behind such smooth skin and has made a noticeable difference in the texture of my skin. The glycolic renewing scrub is a grainy/salt like texture that is a bit difficult to spread because it’s meant to be applied to dry skin. It left my skin smooth and actually helped tame my ingrown hair! When used together, this is a true dream team. My skin is so soft, and my ingrown hairs are visibly better than they were before one use of these products. If you’re dealing with any type of skin bumps/need a deep body exfoliation, I highly recommend this line!!

Keratosis Pilaris!!
Keratosis Pilaris!!
Ever since I’m young I’ve always suffered from really bad keratosis pilaris and nothing has ever worked ☹️ I’ve tried over the counter and prescription for so many years. Recently I saw a lot of good reviews about Skin Fix & how good this lotion was for rough and bumpy skin. I’ve been using it for about a week and can’t say much about the results but I love the smell of this lotion and it’s so cooling and refreshing after a nice shower. Can’t wait to start seeing some results! 🌿💚 skinfix - Resurface+ AHA Renewing Cream
