Is CBD in skincare worth the buzz? 🌿
CBD, short for cannabidiol, has gained so much popularity as a a beauty ingredient over the past couple of years. Studies have found CBD to be a powerful antioxidant and have anti-inflammatory properties. However, I think it’s worth noting that compared to other ingredients like vitamin C or retinol the studies on CBD and it’s properties and effects on beauty products is barely getting up on its feet. And with so many brands jumping on the CBD bandwagon, I believe it’s important we do our research first. Some studies also suggest CBD might help acne-prone skin being an anti-inflammatory, rosacea due to its skin calming properties and being an antioxidant could prevent wrinkles and dullness. I get mild rosacea from time to time when the weather is super dry, it’s something I’ve been struggling with lately and I’m looking into CBD as a potential ingredient to treat it! Also for reference is I have combination skin that tends to get very dehydrated. Here are three products with CBD as a key ingredient I’ve been using lately and my experience ☺️ (pls keep in mind there are just my experiences with these products and my opinions) 🌱 CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm I’ve already shared this balm and my first impressions, it claims to work for all skin-types and help calm extremely dry skin. I’ve only used it on my body so far and it’s amazing! It warms on contact and I love the balmy texture, it’s not sticky and I really like how it creates a “barrier” on my skin. The ingredient list is lovely with hemp seed oil, rose hip oil, Manuka honey and of course, CBD as star ingredients. At $54 is a pricey one, but worth it, i my my opinion. 🌱 CANNUKA - Purifying Gel Balm Cleanser this cleanser claims to thoroughly cleanse without stripping skin of its natural oils. There’s nothing I despise more than a stripping cleanser. Happy to report this is lovely! It’s light in texture, but leaves my skin feeling hydrated and supple. It’s supposed to remove makeup on its own but i personally use it as a second cleanse, so I can’t attest to that yet. It lathers beautifully, but it’s not frothy. 10/10 would repurchase and might even get a backup soon. 🌱 radiant labs - Plushed Hydrating Radiance Stick For Lips last but not least, I’ve been using this lip balm every night for the past couple of days and I’m really enjoying it. It smells amazing and feels super plush and moisturizing! The name is spot on. Now this one lists CBD as the last ingredient, so maybe the moisture comes from the apricot kernel oil and coconut oil, but it’s still nice nonetheless and for $10 I have no complains. Have you tried any beauty products with CBD? Do you think is worth the hype? #CherieCreator #CheriePartner

Saving my lizard queen skin 🐊👑
We’re currently experiencing another heat wave here in SoCal and it’s reaaally taking a toll on my skin 😖 not only is it super hot, but the weather is also getting drier and drier as fall comes. I started looking for something in my skincare stash that would help the itchy, dry, flakey skin on my body and remembered I recently got the CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm sent in PR. I’ve been using it for a few days, and it’s amazing! It’s very soothing and it’s almost an instant relief for my lizard skin. This being a balm kind of permeates the skin and helps moisturize while locking hydration in. The ingredient list is A+ in my opinion. Some key ingredients are Manuka honey, of course, rosehip oil, hemp seed oil, amongst others. The texture is lovely and you only need a little bit. At $58 a pop it is a pricier skin balm, but a little goes a long way and the ingredient list is great in my opinion. They claim you can also use this balm on the face, but I haven’t tried that! Maybe I will, since my face is also feeling super dry! All in all, I think this is a great product and I actually look forward to using it every day 🤗 #CheriePartner

The Best CBD/Sativa Skincare Products & CBD Info
CBD (Cannabidiol) skincare products are a relative newcomer to the skincare industry. While CBD has a multitude of skincare benefits, research is still ongoing. Sativa oil in skincare is actually widely utilized and contains no CBD by itself. CBD skincare benefits: 💚Acne-fighting - has been shown to decrease excess oil buildup to keep pores clear and help balance oil production on skin’s surface. It may not be effective on body acne, but it’s not going to make it worse. 💚Anti-inflammatory - targets multiple skin cells types and can reduce redness within ten minutes of application. 💚Smooths scars - increases skin elasticity and hydration to reduce overall appearance of acne scars 💚Treats eczema and psoriasis - reduces itching and appearance My Tips: ✅Look at percentages/amount - in order for a skincare product to be effective, if has to have a higher concentration of CBD, anything 100 mg or higher is most effective, but lower concentrations (50 mg) can work well for some individuals. ✅Check Labels - CBD is NOT the same as hemp seed oil/sativa oil. While CBD has a multitude of skincare benefits, the only thing hemp oil/sativa oil (used alone) will do is act as an intense moisturizer. This is not a bad thing if that’s what you’re going for. I interchange products depending on my skin’s needs. CBD concentration depends on plant extraction. In sativa oils, there are no cannabinoids in the oils extracted from a hemp seed. CBD is extracted from the leaves of the plant, high in cannabinoids. For CBD products, look for the following labels: CBD isolate, hemp CBD, hemp extract oil, broad or full-spectrum CBD, cannabidiol and phytocannabinoid-rich. ✅Watch for “all-natural” - many people commonly have allergies to plant-based derivatives, called botanicals. Sometimes after using a “green” product, people can have skin irritation. So make sure that the CBD product you are using isn’t diluted with triggering plant-additives. Most people don’t have reactions to CBD itself. ✅Use in conjunction with other products- CBD doesn’t typically interact with other skincare ingredients, which makes it an excellent additive to a skincare regimen. The anti-acne properties will work better if you are keeping your pores unclogged already. My Favorite Products: The Holy Grail: HERBIVORE - Emerald Deep Moisture Glow Oil King of the CBD products, this face oil packs a triple whammy. It combines the power of CBD and sativa oil. That’s why so many people swear by it and see results. You feel intense moisture when you apply and the next morning, you wake up with a glow! I use it with the HERBIVORE - Prism 12% AHA + 3% BHA Exfoliating Glow Serum for deeper moisturization and more glow effect. I recommend getting it in the kit HERBIVORE - Glow Potions Emerald CBD + Prism 12% AHA Glow Duo ✅100 mg full-spectrum CBD - reduces redness and acne ✅Hemp seed oil - increased moisture and glow ✅Adaptogens - skin calming and nourishing ✅Okay for most acne-prone skin Truly Products: I cannot say enough positive things about the quality of these products. While I do not feel that anything can beat Herbivore’s CBD product, Truly comes close. TRULY - Blueberry Kush CBD Face Oil ✅300 mg sativa seed oil CBD ✅AHA/BHA - glow and clear skin ✅Collagen - promotes skin health TRULY - Mary Jane CBD Glow Serum ✅100 mg sativa seed oil ✅Vitamin A - firms and brightens skin ✅Glycolic acid - skin resurfacing TRULY - CBD Acne Facial Kit ✅Calms breakouts with the fun of CBD acne patches and pore strips. You also get a spot treatment with CBD isolate and salicylic acid and a little extraction tool CANNUKA - Harmonizing Face Cream I bought the whole 3-piece kit CANNUKA - Face Kit with the eye cream and lip balm, but the face cream is amazing alone! ✅100 mg CBD isolate ✅Maunuka honey + hyaluronic acid for intense hydration ✅More gentile formula than other products Milk MAKEUP - CBD + Arnica Solid Body Oil Similar to Herbivore’s product, but for the body! ✅100 mg broad-spectrum CBD ✅Arnica - healing properties (even bruising) ✅Vitamin E - skin nourishing Kiehl's - Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil Herbal Concentrate My favorite (non-CBD) sativa-only product! Very high-quality product. Dries quickly. Can be layered well with other oils or serums. ✅Sativa seed oil ✅Green oregano - calms acne-prone skin LORD JONES - High CBD Formula Body Lotion Full body lotion! It has a cooling effect and dries quickly. Non-greasy. ✅100 mg broad-spectrum CBD ✅Shea butter - ultra-moisturizing on dry/cracking skin ✅Fragrance-free available options 💁🏻‍♀️Let me know what you think of CBD and sativa skincare or if you have any questions!

CBD Face Cream 🌱
CANNUKA - Harmonizing Face Cream CBD 🌱 has clearly been all the rave for the past few years and now we have been seeing a growing popularity for it in skincare products. CBD is said to relieve issues like skin sensitivity, redness, and dryness. This CBD Face Cream from Cannuka grabbed my attention due to the clean and simple ingredient lists. It claims to be a “powerful and luxurious yet lightweight and delivers a burst of hydration 💦 to smooth and calm dry, irritated skin.” It contains things like: + Bees Wax 🐝 + Aloe Vera 🌵 + Vitamin E + Hemp Seed Oil 🌱 + CBD Isolate (100mg) & Manuka Honey (Active 16+) 🍯 All great ingredients that really help sensitive skin and those w/ dryness as well. Also, packaging is super cute! 🤩 I was super excited to try this out since I have been battling dry, sensitive, and dehydrated skin for the past couple years. 😣 I (luckily) found a bottle of it at my local Marshall’s and decided to grab it because it was $38-cheaper than the bottles at ULTA and other online retailers! However, I was a bit disappointed at the texture and smell of the product. It leaves a sticky residue behind; I imagine this would be better if you’re aiming to use it as a primer for makeup, a night cream, or if you layer a face oil over it, but that was one of the major things I didn’t like about it. Next was the smell! 🤢 It has a horrid citrus smell that way too overpowering and makes the product smell like its old or expired. Initially I though it was, until I read a review from another customer claiming the same thing! All in all, it is great if you have dry skin because it did moisturize my face well. It didn’t WOW me at all though, and I feel like I can find other products that work just as good or even better, without the bad smell, sticky residue, and high price tag. If you are keen on trying this, I would suggest getting it on sale or maybe a trial size if they offer it. I really wanted to love this, but I won’t be re-purchasing unfortunately. 🙁 xo Kia 💛

CBD in Skincare
🍃 I’m sure you’ve all heard of CBD by now. It’s in makeup, skincare, body care, tinctures, teas, coffee....really any medium it could be formulated into...and it is BLOWING UP in skincare right now. But what does it actually do? 🍃 CBD is an antioxidant. Antioxidant meaning it’s protects the skin from free radicals and oxidation (which leads to things like hyperpigmentation and premature aging). This makes CBD a good ingredient to protect the skin from things like sun exposure (but absolutely not to replace sunscreen), environmental pollutants, and blue light. 🍃 CBD is anti inflammatory which, as the name implies, calms inflammation. Inflammation contributes to all sorts of skin concerns including acne, redness, flaming, irritation, and dryness. This makes CBD a great ingredient for calming the skin. 🍃 Lastly CBD has been shown to reduce sebum. Making this a great ingredient for acne and oil control. 🍃 While research is still limited on what CBD can do for the skin and how effectively it can do these things, it’s an ingredient that definitely shows a lot of promise. I have personally found that it works really well for minimizing my redness. Some of my favorite CBD skincare products include the Lord Jones Royal Oil, Josie Maran Skin Dope, and Saint Jane Luxury Beauty Face Serum.

 No more crusty lips
No more crusty lips
💋I really hate having crusty lips, and I’ll share a little secret. One product on the lip is just not enough for me. I like to have my lips nice and soft throughout the day or night. These two products works wonder for the lips. 💋First up, is CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm this product helps hydrate my under eyes but it also helps with my lips. Typically I’ll just apply this onto my lips but when I wake up I still feel the dryness. 💋Here comes the next product to finish off. The The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Squalane this is the last step. I really like how this product glides onto my lips. Honestly I could use this as a lip gloss. 💋I have a critical analysis of these two products. I have previously wrote a review. Overall these products make my lips so juicy and plump through out the night. I am thrilled when I wake up. The cannuka is pricy but it’s the best investment.

Body Moisturizer Awards 🥇🥈🥉
Body Moisturizer Awards 🥇🥈🥉
I have to be honest, I’m not a huge fan of body care. Either it makes me sticky or i just don’t find it worth my time. However, in the past few months I have been focusing a lot of my time into my body care, specifically the post-bath or post-shower moisture products I use and where I use them on my body. Please note that my skin is SO SENSITIVE! I breakout fairly often on my body. 🥇: CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm My favorite out of these three is from Cannuka which is a CBD skincare brand at Ulta. I have tried a few of their products and this one is my absolute favorite for my feet, elbows, and my hands. It is so soothing and healing. It smells of honey, and rubs in very easily. I have 4 cats and barely any cat hair sticks to this when I have it on! I am impressed. It is $58 for 1.6oz (I have the mini size!) and for good quality CBD products are expensive so I think this is very reasonably priced. I am also very active so I can justify this purchase for my aching joints and muscles. 🥈: VERSED - Keep It Supple Body Oil Versed is a drugstore brand available at Target. I bought this since it’s fairly inexpensive and Versed prides itself on eliminating close to 2,000 “toxic” ingredients so I thought this would work great for my sensitive skin. It’s a dry oil formula so once you apply it, it’s usually dry within 5-10 minutes. SOLD!! My only complaint is that it smells like an old lady’s cheap perfume. The main fragrant component is “ylang ylang” and it’s SO fragrant. This product also contains coconut oil so I don’t use it on my neck or chest. I think it’s a steal for $15/4oz. It loses a star for the smell. 🥉: BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil I have included this in my body products list because I have stopped using it on my face but started using it on my neck and chest a few months and and O.M.G! It has helped clear old acne marks that were on my chest and is the perfect amount of lasting moisture. I use 5-6 drops on my neck, chest, and shoulders after every shower and I love it. I can not justify this as a repurchase...it’s $72 for 1oz of oil. Ouch! I will be switching to their 100% squalane oil after I finish this bottle. It smells softly of rose but nothing harsh at all. It loses a star for the price. What are your favorite body oils?

These products have been working wonders for my skin. There are improvements in my skin; such as my complexion, texture, and overall my skin is looking and feeling healthy. Down below are the products that I use on my skin during night time. 1: JUICE BEAUTY - Hydrating Mist this product gives my skin a nice start off. I spray this once I get out of the shower. It’s is very refreshing and the ingredient in this product have really help my skin out. 2: innisfree - Soybean Energy Essence this one right here is amazing! It is great for sensitive skin. I literally slap this onto my face (gently). This preps my skin for the other product. It has no fragrance which is a bonus. I like how this product is not too sticky and it give my skin a dewy look. 3: DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum I’ve previously talked about this product. Briefly; I really love how this product gives my skin just the right amount of moisture. It glides onto my skin so nicely. I enjoy this serum a lot, it just helps with moisture into my skin. I like to penetrate this product with a jade roller. 4. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream This is a nice moisturizer, making me feel like I’m on cloud. This moisterizer is super light, it is great on skin who have normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin like my mommy it’s not going to really help much. Overall this product is lightweight, absorb into my skin nicely. 5: CANNUKA - Moisturizing Skin Balm Last but not Least is this CBD balm; I have gave this product a review but I will briefly talk about it. I use this on my lips and gives my lips nice and supple. Conclusion: Overall these products are the staple to my skin. Works well and keeps my skin happy and healthy. Make sure you’re consistent with what works best for you. If you want nice skin or whatever; keep working towards it and in the end it is very rewarding. I hope y’all enjoy.

I’ve used this product for awhile, and honestly it’s one of the best skin balm out in the market. This is one of my favorite eye balms. As you put it on and massage it onto your under eyes and lids, you start to feel like your under eye muscles are relaxing. It is a great base for makeup, works awesome with every product I’ve used with it so far. It feels amazing, you’ll have to try it for yourself! CBD and Manuka honey works with grapefruit extract and vitamin E, creating a balm that warms on contact melting into a beautiful soft texture that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and restore the area's youthfulness.
