Battle of the Cleansing Balms
Battle of the cleansing balms! ✨ I’ve been testing both the ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm and the #Juno Skin - Clean 10 Cleansing Balm[products]#[FiveStars] for the past few months. One is pricey, one affordable. Which reigns supreme? Well to start I really enjoy them both. They both have a yellow color with a citrus scent. The texture of the Elemis is extremely emollient and oily, almost a little goopy but does a really nice job at taking off makeup and not stripping my skin or leaving a film behind. The Juno Skin is a thicker to start but really sheers out and becomes super slippy on the skin (reminds me of the green clean texture). It takes off makeup super easily and glides around just a little easier than the Elemis. Also the Juno Skin has only 10 ingredients! The Elemis has many more than 10. Even though I enjoy them both, the Elemis is $64 for 3.7 oz, and the Juno Skin is just $14.50 for 3oz! Juno Skin definitely wins this one! 👏🏼 *both products gifted to me but opinions are honest and my own

My first retinol - Tretinoin routine
As part of the @cherie and Apostrophe Save My Skin, I got a consult and month of treatment from Apostrophe. My main skin concerns are beginning signs of aging and some dark spots/age spots (hyperpigmentation) that are beginning to appear. A couple of the dark areas on my face are quite pronounced. The Apostrophe process was super simple. Created my account online, answered some questions about my skin concerns, and uploaded some photos of my face and areas of concern, and chose my Dr. All of my information was reviewed by a Dermatologist who suggested a treatment plan to meet my goals. Less than 2 weeks later I had a box at my doorstep! The box from Apostrophe - Topical Formula included my prescription, a sheet detailing my treatment plan, a postcard, and some stickers. Cute. I was prescribed Tretinoin 0.025% + Niacinamide 4%. I’ve been using Niacinamide for about 2 months now, but this is my first prescription retinol experience. I was directed to apply every other night for 2 weeks, if no irritation, move to every night. In order to lessen the chance of irritation I was also directed to use a light moisturizer before and after, use sunscreen daily, avoid eye and mouth area, discontinue use of any acids, and use a moisturizing cleanser as well as a Vitamin C serum each morning. My retinol / Trentinoin daily routine Evening: If I have makeup on I cleanse using BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing or ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm which I also use as a mask of my skin is super irritated. Apply pea size amount of Tretonin + Niacinamide cream over face and half that amount to neck Moisturize with THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer Apply BITE - Agave+ Nightime Duo to lips, generic castor oil to brows with a spoolie, and PETER THOMAS ROTH - Lashes to Die for Turbo Nighttime Eyelash Treatment lash serum to my lashes Morning: Cleanse using BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Nourishing or ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm Apply SUNDAY RILEY - C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum all over face and neck Use The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG under eyes Then rose hip oil on areas that feel especially dry or are peel Since it’s only been a couple weeks I will probably end up refining this routine, I’ve noticed dryness mostly around my mouth and nostrils. Highly recommend the Apostrophe process so far! 💙

NEW IN: my skin care ritual just got fancy
ULTA had ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Perfect Partners on sale and I just had to guys. I love Elemis products and have been dying to try these two products. I love cleansing balms. They are the best thing to remove waterproof makeup without stinging and irritating your eyes. Yes, micellar water works as well but I usually use it after to make sure everything is off . This cleansing balm is so luxurious and oh my word the smell is absolutely divine. The balm is based with rose and mimosa waxes and are infused with elderberry, starflower and optimega oils and supercharged with anti-aging algae, padina pavonica— a Mediterranean algae with proven outstanding anti-aging benefits. Some of my favorites are: CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm (works well but they test on animals) BANILA CO - Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original Then I met you - Living Cleansing Balm After cleansing, I follow up with my new favorite retinol alternative ingredient, Baluchiol in ACURE - Radically Rejuvenating Dual Phase Bakuchiol Serum . I use this twice a day before moisturizing for that extra bit of moisture and protection from free radicals. I have to be honest, I have not tried the cream. I’m sure it is divine but I’m currently half way through two creams and it seemed wasteful to open this one... and I wouldn’t really be giving it a good test run if I’m still using the others right!? I will update in a later post. What other cleansing balm should I try? Thank you. Be Kind, Stay Beautiful **Elemis, Banila Co, Then I met you are all 🐰cruelty free.

Empties - what I would trash or restash
Perricone MD - Cold Plasma Plus+ Sub-D/Neck I have to admit, I had the older version which has now been reformulated. While this felt great with the tightening of my neck and chest, the smell was straight trash. Like caviar gone bad. 🤮 ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Bloggers constantly rave about this product. I only got it bc FFF had a deal. Must say, it firms, the gel like consistency was light. For an anti-aging effect, I would restash 👍 COOLA - COOLA Makeup Setting Spray Organic Sunscreen SPF 30 If I can find a lazy girl way of sunscreening, I’m on it. Especially the reapplication process, figured this solves my Life problems... not so much. Maybe I’m asking for too much, but I was never convinced that all parts of my face were getting the spf dose needed. Maybe if the packaging is different, my opinion might change, till then stays trashed 😒

🥗 Superfood Skincare 🥗
I have normal skin with my main skincare concerns being preventing/treating acne, fading past acne marks, and dehydration. Superfoods are common in the nutrition words, but they’re mainly just buzzwords to garner attention! I’ve found it’s the same with with skincare 🤷🏼‍♀️ . I got this ELEMIS - Superfood Vital Veggie Mask in a BoxyCharm box last year and it’s just meh. It costs $35 for this 2.5 oz mask! That the directions say to leave on for 10 minutes!! They claim the special ingredients are various (mainly) veggies and (some) fruits that produce the product with special benefits. I’m not quite sure how a product that’s only on your skin for a few minutes can make that big of a difference, but I’d rather splurge on a serum or moisturizer. This skincare trend of superfoods is mainly just new buzzwords, if you really want a difference in your routine I’d stick with salicylic acid or hyaluronic acid or other well known and studied ingredients. This mask has such an overwhelming scent of essential oils, something I’ve noticed with most Elemis products. It has a typical mask like texture and is easily washed off. I also haven’t noticed any difference in my skin while using this mask. I expected about this much from a mask, but not impressed at all and wouldn’t recommend or repurchase. I would be interested in trying a serum or moisturizer from the superfood trend, but not from this brand. I like trying new products so intrigued to see how other superfood skincare works, but not too expecting any noticeable results. . #cheriepartners

Gentle Moisturizing Mask :)
🥑if you’re looking for a moisturizing mask i highly recommend this one! 🥑some of its star ingredients are avocado and chia seed oils which are deeply moisturizing, vitamin c and passion fruit acids to very gently exfoliate and brighten skin, along with wheatgrass, kale, and nettle. it also contains prebiotics to balance your skins microbiome. 🥑after you leave the mask on for 10 minutes you wash it off and it has a feeling of leaving a film on your face, but not in a bad way. it keeps your face moisturized even after you rinse it away. i also find my skin looks more “alive” if that makes sense, just more radiant. 🥑i docked one star because i don’t see any lasting results in the morning, but i don’t ever really expect that from a mask. 🥑i love using this when my skin is feeling dull dry and a bit irritated since it is also soothing, i wouldn’t recommend on compromised skin though since i think masking isn’t the best when the skin is having a reaction. TL,DR good mask for moisturizing and soothing, a bit pricey imo but i got it as a gift :p love using it on days my skin needs a pick me up :)

Keep calm, cool & hydrated 💚
I’ve had this green beauty in my stash for sometime (via Boxycharm) and just recently broke into it. If your face is in need of a refreshing shot of hydration, ELEMIS - Superfood CICA Calm Hydration Juice might be for you! But, read on.... ABOUT: Loaded with vitamin-packed Superfoods, 75% Organic Aloe and a Prebiotic, this gel moisturiser delivers instant cooling hydration while helping to soothe and protect dehydrated or sensitive skin. It’s a great sensation coming from the fridge! ❄️ INGREDIENT CALLOUTS: Organic Aloe Vera Green Mandarin & Kiwi Fruit Waters Organic Cucumber Extract 👎Cica — listed as the last ingredient so definitely not note worthy as their website claims, nor it’s name! 🤔 👎Unfortunately it also does contain fragrances. HOW TO USE: Can be used every day, both am & pm. Apply pea-sized amount after cleansing and toning. It’s a gel consistency and spreads easily. Very light aloe scent with no residue at all (non-sticky). I like to use this whenever my face needs an extra shot of hydration or just a little TLC. I typically apply it after I’ve cleansed, toned and applied my treatment. So just before I’d moisturize. I’ve found it has helped balance my skin out and clear up some irritation I had on my chest. I’d really like this a lot more if it didn’t have so many ingredients that can be irritants especially for a product that claims to be calming for the skin. 🙁 This can be very misleading! A quick search will find that this has pretty high ratings as well. For me, it works but I’d be very hesitant to recommend it for anyone who is sensitive to fragrance. Pictured is the 50 ml size priced at $48. WOULD I REPURCHASE? Nope! Even though I am not sensitive to fragrance I do know that it can become problematic. I am really trying to be more conscious about the products I purchase and use so I do not cause unwanted damage to my skin. Fragrances: Fragrance, Limonene, Bergamot - those listed that I’m familiar with. ❤️🍒

Cica
💚Elemis is my favorite skincare brand. I was lucky enough to grab these beauties at a discounted price at Boxy charm. 💚The superfood Cica calm cleansing foam is my favorite foaming cleanser. This cleanser gently cleanses the skin removing excess oil and dirt, and leaves a calm feeling after you wash it off. The morning I applied it, my skin felt very calm, soft, and hydrated. It's star ingredient Cica has been used in traditional chinese medicine for centuries. It's main benefit is to soothe and repair irritated skin, and to help boost collagen production. It also helps to revive dull and dry skin. 💚The hydration juice also contains the star ingredient of Cica, is loaded with aloe vera and prebiotic which instantly leaves a cooling effect on the skin. My face felt cool and awaken as I applied it in the mornings and sometimes evenings. I tend to replace my hyaluronic acid serum with this cause I love the hydaration and plumping it gives me. 💚Both the face wash and hydration juice can be used morning and evenings, but I prefer to use them in the mornings to awaken me.

Luxury resurfacing facial pads
When I use these my face looks much brighter . Still gentle enough for sensitive skin people to use . Within one use you should see a difference . Lactic Acid: A mild AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) effective at retexturing the skin's surface while still being gentle and hydrating. It also acts as a humectant, drawing in moisture from the environment, like a magnet. Lactic acid helps to keep the skin moisturized and feeling less dry. When you use lactic acid regularly, it can also improve signs of aging. It stimulates collagen renewal and can firm your skin. Hyperpigmentation (sun spots or age spots) fade and fine lines and wrinkles soften and smooth out. ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads $59

My Thoughts on LUXURY SKINCARE 💸✨ Worth it? p.2
Check out part 1 if you haven’t already! Elemis. I previously worked at a PR firm that represented the brand so I got a lot of free product to try but this is 100% my opinion. - ELEMIS - Superfood Facial Oil I love this facial oil- it locks in all of the products I used before without slipping around everywhere. It’s also deeply nourishing! - ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra-Rich I actually really like this super moisturizing face cream! It’s a little more emollient and thick compared to their original Pro-Collagen Marine Cream but still something I can use, with my combination skin. - ELEMIS - Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream I liked this formula but I’m not sure I see much of a difference in result from this compared to their original Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. The texture is a little more pudding and jelly like which I don’t mind but I’d rather just get their other face creams. - ELEMIS - Peptide4 Adaptive Day Cream This is a great formula for oilier/combination skin because it’s not a cream that leaves your skin dewy. It has more of a satin matte finish while still hydrating and moisturizing the skin with peptides. - ELEMIS - Peptide4 Plumping Pillow Facial I don’t really like this product because I just don’t find it does much for my skin. It’s a super lightweight gel texture but my skin doesn’t look and feel extra plumped when I wake up. I’d rather just use their Ultra-Rich Pro-Collagen Marine Cream. - ELEMIS - Ultra Smart Pro-Collagen Eye Treatment Duo This is crazy expensive and meant for anti-aging so I gave this set to my mom and she loves it. There’s a Day Cream and Night Balm duo with a metal rollerball like tool for application. She says it’s great for de-puffing and is super moisturizing. - ELEMIS - Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads I love these facial pads!!! They’re physically gentle on the skin but the ingredients help to exfoliate the skin without any irritation. Whenever I have a bit of texture, I’ll swipe these on before applying my other face products and they help tremendously!

My Thoughts on LUXURY SKINCARE 💸✨ Worth it? p.1
First of all skincare that’s a luxury to me may not be a luxury to you. I honestly think that it’s not the product brand or claims that make it a luxury, but the science, thought and ingredients behind it. We all have our own budgets and limits on how much we’re willing to spend so with everything I say on this subject, take it with a grain of salt! Skin Ceuticals. This is probably my favorite skincare brand- there’s so much research and science behind each product. My favorites include: - SKINCEUTICALS - Hydrating B5 Gel a super lightweight, but extremely hydrating and skin-plumping serum full of Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin B5 - SKINCEUTICALS - C E Ferulic With 15% L-Ascorbic Acid Vitamin C Serum a potent anti-oxidant serum with Vitamins C & E, Ferulic Acid & L-Ascorbic Acid to help treat hyper-pigmentation and brighten the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Retinol 0.3 a low percentage retinol for speeding up cell turnover without any irritation or overly drying the skin - SKINCEUTICALS - Physical Fusion Uv Defense SPF 50 a super thin serum formula with high SPF to protect your skin from the sun - no white cast! Drunk Elephant. Their products are expensive and get hyped up A LOT (which sometimes makes me not want to try them?), but I like that their products are usually centered around one main ingredient. I’ve tried: - DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum which is a nice glycolic serum that helps to smooth and exfoliate the skin but I’ve tried other glycolic products like ALPHA-H - Micro Super Scrub with 12% Glycolic Acid which I find more effective! - DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops just a bronze-colored serum but I don’t find anything too special about it or its ingredients. I fell for the “anti-pollution” claim- never again! Fresh. I love some and don’t love some. I like their whole “natural” approach but I find some of their formulas not effective on my skin at all. - fresh - Black Tea Kombucha Facial Treatment Essence I LOVE this facial treatment. I use it as an essence, as it contains Lactic Acid, to help gently brighten & smooth the skin. - fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer This is super moisturizing night cream that really plumps up my skin overnight so I wake up to glowy, bouncy skin! - fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner This is so disappointing compared to their Black Tea Facial Treatment. It does nothing to hydrate- just feels like overpriced rose water. - fresh - Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer I think the rose in the formula irritates my skin and turns it a little pink. I’ve just been using it as a body cream so I it doesn’t go to waste! Elemis- check out part 2!

Pro-collagen & Resurfacing Cream are average textures that are smooth and very creamy. Sometimes they make my oily skin too oily. The only issues are the fragrances in the creams. Texture Tuesday!! 😍😍
I wanted to feature some of my very favorite skincare textures!! ELEMIS - Superfood Facial Wash I adore this cleanser. It cleans so well and soothes my red skin! Nature Lab. - Shine Clarifying Scalp Scrub If you like scalp scrubs and haven’t tried this one you are seriously missing out!! I have tried almost every single one and this is the very best, hands down!! PACIfICA - Guacamole Whip Face & Body Mask I rate this a 3 for my face but a 5 for my body! This is perfect if you have dry skin on your face and body. It’s heavy so I’d say normal to dry for face only. bliss - Green Tea Wonder Mask This is my go-to overnight mask when I’m breaking out. By morning my bumps look much less red and smaller!! bliss - Mint Chip Mania Mask This is my mask I love on severe dry skin days. It has she’s butter so it’s pretty heavy but doesn’t leave my face greasy. Just super soft. What’s your favorite texture of all of your skincare items? 🤔

Feed your face!!
Elemis Superfood Facial Wash- Full size 5 oz. $25.00 Key Ingredients & Benefits: Organic Pumpkin Seed Oil: Rich in vitamins, essential fatty acids, antioxidants and sterols that can help protect the skin's lipid barrier Black Seed Oil: Rich in Omega 6, vitamins, antioxidants and amino acids to support the skin's lipid barrier for a healthy glow Nettle Extract: Rich in vitamins A, B, C, D and K. It contains high levels of proteins and amino acids. Nettle acts as a gentle astringent and has anti-inflammatory properties First wash- I used a dime sized amount and warm water to wet my face. I try to wash my face for a full 60 seconds to make sure I get all the makeup, dirt, and oil. The wash smells a tad earthy but it’s not off putting. After rinsing I noticed my face felt a little tighter than when I use my normal wash (hence the 4 stars) but not super tight. When I did my toner afterwards there was very little left behind so it definitely does it’s job! I do like how it seems to make my face a bit softer. Would I purchase the full size? I think I would. I’m hesitant to pay $25 for cleanser but this is one of the better ones I’ve tried. ❤️

Please critique my skincare routine!
Disclaimer: very new to this app, not exactly sure if i’m doing this right 😂 I was hoping that a kind soul could give me some feedback on my skincare routine! I’m not sure whether or not to add or remove any of these, so any help is much appreciated! Step 1: To cleanse, I use the Murad - Clarifying Cleanser ! On days I wear makeup, I do a double cleanse adding sulfur soap since it’s much gentler on the skin. I do one cleanse in the morning, and two at night. This process sometimes does leave my skin feeling a bit dry, especially after a double cleanse, but on their own, have worked wonders for treating my pesky mask acne :) Step 2: I use the SK-II - Facial Treatment Clear Lotion Toner I dab it on a soft face towel and use it on my T zone, as well as any acne spots I have. I absolutely looove this product and have definitely seen results as described, other than my minor breakouts here and there Step 3: I use the SK-II - Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) For this, I do a couple shakes and pat all over my face. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews about this product, and whether or not it’s just a gimmick, but since using this product, I have rarely had excessively dry or oily skin, and it has definitely evened out my skin tone, and (before covid/mask wearing) minimized pores! Step 3: (Alternate) I couldn’t find product information on here, but now and then I will use the Ambre Blends Skin Tonic. This is a local Midwest company that started as a fragrance line that I have been wearing for years! I tried the skin tonic when they first released during a time when my skin was extremely dry and flaky. It gave me soooo much hydration and the smell is absolutely amazing! However, it wasn’t so great at keeping my breakouts to a minimum, and I haven’t been able to tell which ingredients caused that. They pride themselves on natural ingredients and I included a slide of the contents of the bottle! Step 4: For under eye serum, I use L'OCCITANE - Immortelle Divine Eye Cream I have extremely dark circles, and I decided to give this a try and it definitely has reduced them a bit! It’s a very soothing and light cream, but I do wish it showed better results! I do this entire routine twice a day, and so far it has seemed to work out for me! I still go through periods of oily skin, and lately with having to wear a mask all the time, my pores have appeared a lot larger :( I also have a constant battle with maskne, but I do occasionally use acne patches ( Rael - Miracle Ratch ) The last slide also shows the product I use when I do an occasional face mask. I try to keep this to a minimum, at least 2-3 times a month. I’ve never had better results than the ELEMIS - Papaya Enzyme Peel !

It’s Alright 😌
Okay so this was a gift from my Mom, she’s always trying to add to my skincare routine. So I gave it a try. There are some great things happening in the ingredients list and some not so great ones, but you do wash off this peel. Also there is fragrance- so if you’re sensitive to that beware. Let me say Elemis knows how to create an experience. They know what they are doing to make you feel like you’re doing something luxurious. The feel and smell of this peel is really great. It goes on easy and just felt really nice on my skin. I warmed it into my palms and applied to cleans skin, avoiding my eye area. I let it sit for 10-15 minutes and removed with lukewarm water. It was very gentle on my skin. (This is not going to be as effective as AHA/BHAs, but IS going to be more gentle) I couldn’t feel any tingling or anything. If you’re looking for a very gentle exfoliating treatment this is definitely an option. However, at $45 for not even 2oz. it is a bit steep, I did have some kind of reaction to this. My skin broke out in tiny bumps the following day. This was the only new thing I had added to my routine. Still it could have been this or something completely different. The bumps went away in about a week whether they were from this mask or not. Apart from the bumps this was a nice gentle exfoliating experience.

Oh my stars! I love the smell, I love how my skin feels during and especially after, and I cannot for the life of me find anything else quite like this little tube! I’m going to be so extremely sad when my tube is out and I have to buy more. I’m pretty sure this one is becoming a must-have!

Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
ELEMIS-Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
 Pro-collagen Cleansing Balm f
Pro-collagen Cleansing Balm from elemis. Oh, isn't she lovely. By the way what is up with me & cleansing balms today? 😂 I've heard so many great things about their products & this balm specifically, and now I can see what all the fuss was about. Wow um hello there luxurious!! 🙌 The Marine Cream is incredible as well. It's so hydrating, but yet doesn't sit heavily on the skin. The smell is so light & fresh, and the consistency is incredibly smooth & silky. To be honest when I'm using these I can't help but feel a little Bougie 💁‍♀️ It's too early for any review just yet but so far I'm loving these products & can't wait to share my thoughts with you a bit later down the road.

Look what arrived this morning
Look what arrived this morning! My Elemis order • ⭐ I can't wait to get stuck into these, especially the new day cream. I'm so pleased to have the Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream Oil back in my stash - I adore it! Such a gorgeous scent and texture. Plus it makes skin look amazing the day after using it! • ⭐ Elemis were the brand that really got me into skincare. They're the perfect balance of effective ingredients and full on spa style sensory formulas. They definitely hold a special place in my heart 🥰😂 What brand do you have a soft spot for?

I’ve used the elemis Superfood
I’ve used the elemis Superfood Night Cream & Balm twice & the Superfood is 👌 top notch let me tell you. The balm is great too, don’t get me wrong but it’s a balm & the extent of its performance dies when the makeup is off. It smells exactly like the It Cosmetics 3 in 1 too. Both AMAZING at their jobs. BUT the Superfood stays on, sinks in, & shows out the next morning 🤸🏻‍♀️ ☺️ I definitely had a high shine (dew) glow to my skin this morning. ⁣ ⁣ Stats on Superfood: ⁣ • contains a concentrated supergrain complex that replenishes the skin barrier⁣ • Superfood lipids, chai, flax seed, rice bran, & black seed combined with a PREBIOTIC help to protect the skin & balance the microflora ⁣ • intensely hydrates while you sleep (it does) ⁣ • essential oil of lavender & ylang ylang ⁣ • 91% of an independent user trial saw visible results ⁣ ⁣ Although this has EO’s in it my skin loved it. I think it’s the citrus & rose family that my skin dislikes. Also, this cream smells so rich & herbally like it’s packed with nutrients. Love it!

Update on my skin!!
Update on my skin!!
Hey guys, firstly i want to thank you guys for cheered me a lot and commented your opinions on my last post. I kind of change my routine. I stopped using the ordinary peeling solution since i think Aztec indian healing clay works better on my skin and I didn’t want to over exfoliate my skin. I also added rosehip oil to my night routine and i swear to god my face have been smooth like a butter. Well it’s been smoother than before. And i have been using sunscreens and these are the two have (the one from the body shop and the one from the Bioré) both works good i prefer the one from body shop since i felt like the Bioré has a bit of alcohol cuz i smell some while i applied it. Hopes my tips work on your skin too! Please comment if u have any ideas or tips 💗
