Rate my hair care routine for my curly/wavy hair
So I have been trying to mess with my hair routine to better define my curls. I have curly/wavy hair, more like beach curls is what my fam said..I am new to hair care so would love some tips on how to better define my curls more. Here’s what I currently use. I was about 2-3 times per week depending if I swam or not. I live in a hot/dry climate and love to swim when I can for exercise REDKEN - Extreme Shampoothis is new to my mix and bought during ultas jumbo sale. So far I notice nothing different to what I used before but it doesn’t seem to make it worse so still deciding. I use a handheld hair scrub I found on amazon to wash my hair and love how it got rid of my dandruff just from using a new tool REDKEN - All Soft Conditioner I was using this with its shampoo but ran out of the shampoo..loved the two together because I felt my hair getting softer and silkier with each use. May end up going back to this set if I don’t find something better for my hair SheaMoisture - Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Masque Packette I use this once a week in the shower and it does make a difference but I think it weighs down my hair too much so looking for recommendations! DevaCurl - WAVE MAKER Touchable Texture Whip I love to use this product to help define my curls more but wish it wasn’t so expensive so I took out one star. I use about a quarter size in my hair when wet and doesn’t weigh it down ogx - Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum I use this after my hair has dried and so far I really love this stuff! I notice the frizz decreasing and it doesn’t weigh my hair down. I was using Paul Mitchell’s skinny serum but that’s so expensive I found something else to help but at a better price and so far it’s great! Batiste - Bastie Dry Shampoo love this for days 2-3 on my roots. I can see a big difference and don’t see myself getting a different kind ever! It cleans up my roots and I never see any residue or white powder look after I rub the product in. PANTENE - Pro-V Curl Mousse to Tame Frizz for Soft and Touchable Curls I have had this mousse for years and a friend with curly hair said to use a mousse to help hold my curls better..once this is empty I need to find something better to hold my curls without the crunchy feeling. I am trying to find better ways to hold my curls and get the curls more near the roots. I didn’t realize till recently that my hair was so curly so I just brushed it before and threw it up till I figured out what my hair was really about. So I’m new to curly hair care and would love tips and affordable recommendations on products! Thanks!!

Say “BYE” to your rough hair!
I have unfortunately been cursed with rough, thick, coarse hair. With my hair, you will only ever see me in a ponytail or a messy bum, because I am unable to deal with it most of the time. And the few times I need to look a little presentable, I need a clear window of at least three hours in my schedule to be able to work my hair into a decent hairstyle. This being said, I have tried a lot of things to fix my hair, and I have settled on the following solutions. For the first one, I have to mention my trusted hair conditioner, the REDKEN - All Soft Conditioner. I purchased this product about three months ago for $27, and I can tell a huge progress in the texture of my hair. Before, as you can see in the images, my hair was frizzy and a coarse mess. But after using this conditioner twice a week for the last three months, I have seen a HUGE positive difference! It smells so good with a coconut flavour, and the conditioner applies smoothly on to the hair. The second product I really love to use when I need to tame my hair is the MOROCCANOIL - Hydrating Styling Cream. I got this at Sephora for $34 about the same time that I got my _ conditioner. It might seem pricy, but the product lasts a while and actually works for my hair type! I started by using this product before styling using heat, but I prefer to use it after every wash as I see that my hair gets smooth and easy to style that way. It smells great too. My hair used to be dull and dry after washes, but since I got this, the frizz is controlled and my hair is sleek and shiny, and it also feels so healthy! Don’t double think about getting this, 10/10 recommend it!

Powder vs Aerosol Dry Shampoo
Powder vs aerosol dry shampoo. What’s the difference?! Y’all dry shampoo is having a MOMENT in the beauty industry! From dollar cheap to high end, you’ll find dry shampoo under almost every sink these days! And for good reason- damaged hair is a thing of the past! Dry shampoo can help extend your style and eliminate using so many heat tools on your precious locks. Now which dry shampoo should you choose? There are several types but the two most offered are aerosol and powder. Aerosol is a spray dry shampoo that will often have a bit more power than its powder counterpart. It will almost always also contain alcohol, which can help dry out scalp oils and leave your hair feeling cleaner. I find that the aerosol spray has a large area of coverage, yet it’s not as precise as a powder. If you like to use dry shampoo all over your head, aerosol will certainly provide the coverage! Powder dry shampoo will be either tapped into your roots, or applied with a bottle that “poofs”. Although it doesn’t have the wide coverage that spray does, you can concentrate the powder on smaller areas of your head if you have problem areas! In addition, if you hair is fine, powder could be a great option due to having fewer ingredients. It will be lighter weight in the hair and not weigh it down as much. So... what’s the gist? I truly believe it’s PERSONAL PREFERENCE! Don’t attack me now, but after much research I don’t think one is supreme over the other. Give them both a try and choose which you like best! My go-to French braid in a bun!
My hair is a little crazy! Having dry, thick, wild curls is an adventure in itself, but having those key styles to dress up a bun is so important! Today I’m sharing my go-to hairstyle when my hair is almost ready to be washed (I can only wash my hair once a week—curly girl problems) and I want it to be out of my face for work. I call it an easy French braid in a bun! Here are the easy steps to get this cute style yourself: 1. Brush your hair! Especially if you’re curly like me—it will ruin your curls for that wash cycle but since we’re at the end anyway it doesn’t really matter. By brushing our your hair it is less likely to tangle. 2. Something I like to do to add volume and texture is a styling powder. Many brands make them, but today I’m using the Redken Dry Shampoo Powder REDKEN - Dry Shampoo Powder 02 With Charcoal it’s basically a charcoal powder to soak up excess oil in your hair. Lasts forever! At $22 for 2oz it had lasted me over 6 months! My only complaint is the dispenser, I wish it was like briogeo’s, which is a aerosol-free sprayer. 3. Part your hair like your normally do, then tie up one side while you work on the other side. 4. Begin your French braid at the front of your part. You can make the braid as tight or loose as you’d like! 5. Make sure you continue along the side of your head, not the top. 6. Secure your first braid with Bobby pins and/or tie it up! 7. Repeat this on the other side. 8. Remove all of your temporary Bobby pins, grab all of your hair and put it in your usual bun. I keep mine lower on my head depending on the day. 9. Secure any stray hair or bumps with Bobby pins and you’re ready to go! I work part time at a print shop where it’s crucial that my hair is up and out of my face so I can operate heavy machinery. This is a cute style I wear instead of a boring bun 🤪 What are your favorite hair styles for your job(s)?

September Empties: mini edition!
Today I’m doing mini Monday a little different! I used up a ton of products in the month of September, including lots of mini’s while traveling. So today I’m featuring my thoughts on the mini’s I finished. Stay tuned for my full size empties tomorrow! ✨ . . 🤷🏽‍♀️ voir - Sunrise Rituals: Signature Shampoo voir - Sunset Rituals: Signature Conditioner : Nice but I have long hair and it’s really hard to tell my thoughts with a tiny packet! But it did smell amazing. . 👎🏼 ORIGINS - High-Potency Night-a-Mins Mineral-Enriched Oil-Free Renewal Cream : this is a nice thick moisturizer for night time. But I can’t get past the smell. It reminds me of some bad fruity drink I had in college 😂😬 . 👎🏼Kiehl's - Calendula Serum-Infused Water Cream : this is just way too light weight and not moisturizing enough for my skin type. You might like this if you’re oily. . ❤️ philosophy - Purity Made Simple 3-in-1 Shower, Bath & Shave Gel : yess this is the lemon custard and it smells soo good! . 👎🏼 DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 : this is SO greasy I can’t stand it. . 🤷🏽‍♀️ DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream : I don’t get the hype behind this. It’s also too greasy for me. And I’m not supporting DE right now. . 🤷🏽‍♀️ Milk MAKEUP - Kush Lip Balm : I like it! But not extremely long lasting. It did melt and get messy though. Would maybe repurchase on sale. . 🤷🏽‍♀️ NARS - Climax Mascara : nice for volume but it dried out quickly and flaked a lot. . ❤️ CLINIQUE - Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm : yes really enjoyed this. Would get on sale. Probably will save this little tub to put some balm from my full sizes in for future travel! . ❤️ REDKEN - One United Multi-Benefit Treatment Spray : yes a solid leave in conditioner!

✨ Fine Hair Hairspray ✨
I have fine hair that easily gets oily easily and is damaged due to coloring. I do have a lot of hair though. I’ve finally found a hairspray that makes my curls last and isn’t too crunchy! It’s the REDKEN - Triple Take 32 Extreme High-Hold Hairspray ! The 9 oz is $24, while there is a smaller size that is 4 oz for $12. The scent does smell a little like old lady and does last , but worth it for how well it works so well! It does also create a sort of crunchy feel if you use too much, but if you brush out your hair with your fingers it takes most of it away. The hairspray also claims to increase volume and texture, while also being high-hold and anti-frizz! The mister is super-fine and easy to control. This goes on sale sometimes at Ulta so I would definitely grab it again when it does! I originally got it as part of a free gift with purchase from there and fell in love with it as soon as I started using it! It works wonderful at keeping curls in place, with updos and braids to keep them in place, it’s great with any type of hairstyle. I use this anytime I do any of those styles, so maybe a couple times a week and it doesn’t create bad buildup like some hairsprays do. . #cheriepartners

✨ Thick Hairstyles - Second Day Hair ✨
I have thick hair that easily gets frizzy, especially second day hair (or third, or fourth, depends how long I don’t wash it for lol). I typically only wash my hair every 2-4 days (depending on the type of activity I do that day, like exercise or go get groceries or just work on schoolwork). To allow my hair to last longer, I’ll usually use these hairstyles and products so that I can deal with the frizz. I love doing half-up hairstyles anytime I wash my hair, but especially when my hair starts to get frizzy! I hate when my hair gets all over my face. I usually do either a simple ponytail that’s holds the top half of my hair. I also like doing a ponytail with a braid, but that can be a little more difficult because you can’t see the back of your head as well or make sure the braid is straight and doesn’t start going to the side lol. After I finish the braid, I kind of tug/pull it apart so that it looks thicker. Another options is to just throw it into a messy bun on the back of your head! I like to use a spray leave-in conditioner to help nourish my hair and hairspray to lock them. This hairstyle also looks really cute with a headband to keep flyaways out of your face. . dpHUE - Apple Cider Vinegar Leave-in Hair Therapy Key Ingredients: Apple Cider Vinegar (restores healthy pH to smooth the hair surface and seal the cuticle, quickly absorbs into hair to provide weightless conditioning), Argan Oil, Macademia Oil, Dandelion Extract and Aloe Vera (moisturize, condition, and add shine without weighing hair down). Scent: Apple Cider Vinegar Consistency/Texture: Lightweight Spray Price: $30 for 6.5 oz / 192 mL Experience: This has a very strong scent, but it does dissipate quickly. I haven’t noticed much in terms of conditioning or frizz control, but it’s a decent product. It has a minimal amount, but I don’t think I’d purchase the full size unless it was on sale. It doesn’t weigh down my hair or make it look greasy, which was why I gave it 3 stars. Other than that, it doesn’t deliver much and the scent is not something I enjoy. It’s an average leave-in product, I’ll use it up but probably wouldn’t recommend or repurchase it (unless it’s half off or more). . REDKEN - Triple Take 32 Extreme High-Hold Hairspray Scent: Strong hairspray smell Consistency/Texture: Can leave behind a crunchy feel on the hair Price: $12 for 4 oz / 115 g OR $24 for 9 oz / 255 g Experience: It says it gives root lift and volume, but I haven’t used it for that purpose. I usually just use it to set a hairstyle into place and it works great for that! It can leave behind a stiff and crunchy feeling in the hair if you use too much, but it gives a great hold. I can use this in the morning and expect my hairstyle to last the whole day and not droop or get any flyaways or frizz. The nozzle is nice and gives a fine mist that is easy to control. It doesn’t leave my hair dry or make it knotty when I try to brush it out.

Redken water wax 03 review
REDKEN - Water Wax 03 Texturizing Pomade I’ve just finished out the last of my Redken water wax and I think I am going to be on the hunt for a replacement. I was originally recommended the product for scrunching my hair for waves but it didn’t do much. Later on, I used the product to slick back my hair at the part and in front and it does a decent job but leaves me hair feeling greasy and it doesn’t have the hold it needs. It can last a few hours but not all day. It works best when you use it on wet hair and blow dry.

So, I’m in love of shadow shot
So, I’m in love of shadow shots. I think it is because of the master of shadow shots ,sherhearti ! So, I’m using this hair oil from redken, Diamond Oil Glow Dry. OMG, the bottle is insanely pretty! It is by far the prettiest hair oil bottle I have ever seen! It is a protective oil that 🌸Delivers diamond-like shine with ultra lightweight control 🌸Reduces blow-dry time 🌸Fast, easy style for all hair types How to use: 🌸Apply on damp hair, concentrating on mid-lengths and ends before blow-drying 🌸Can also be applied to dry hair for added shine My thoughts: Well, since I gave birth, my hair lost its shine and luster. I had to put a layer of chemical induced gloss every 2-3 months.I hate using oil that leaves my hair oily and looking like it’s dirty. I experienced that many times. So, I was skeptical about this product, but it was so pretty not to get. Lol. Anyway, I tried it yesterday and dang I got a good hair day! Do you ever have a good hair day that you just whip it like you don’t care, well I had that!!! I went to the store, and a lady made a comment on how good my hair looked. Umm what? Come again!! My holy grail hair oil!!! .
