The only products I didn't see working!
Do you like Skin & Co? I have used few of their products and they weren't really impressive for me! These three I use currently and I don't like these much either! I feel like these are the products which have great packaging, look and smell good but when it comes to performing they don't do much! Also, it's not very affordable not to feel bad about spending on these. I would purchase anything but these again. A fairly new product added to my collection is their Sardinian Spirit shower gel SKIN&CO - Sardinian Spirit Limited Edition I really had high hopes for this but it sadly smells overwhelming and spicy. I think I have never had bodywash or shower gel smelling this weird and the texture and formula is very liquidy. I like my bodywashes either thick or creamy. It's none of that. The good old scrub is actually the only product I find decent. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage It's a physical scrub with really fine granuals. And it smells delicious! It's not harsh on skin because of it's soft creamy formula. I like to use it on my neck and hands more! The Truffle Therapy toner is another disappointment. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Face Toner It is a good hydrating toner. Apart from that I have seen no results with this. I believe a toner should do atleast balancing skin's PH but with this, I see only a fragranced water filled in a fancy packaging. Their all products have big claims but I wouldn't fall for it. I think my skincare choices are always inclined towards effective actives than gentle or non-active filler products. I like non-active skincare too, infact I use it all the time when I take a break from actives. But some products don't necessarily do anything to skin and I believe that makes it just a filler product. If you're to try the brand, try only the Gommage! SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage

Exfoliation 101 - Let's burst some myths!
Let's get to know about exfoliants more! No matter if you're a skincare junkie, expert or just a beginner, skin exfoliation can be very tricky and confusing and most of the mainstream skin advices can be minimally backed by science and geared towards selling the product or giving you false information. That's how skincare myths are formed. I'm talking about some pretty known myths about Exfoliation : ✨Like, Physical exfoliants/scrubs are bad for your skin and they cause micro-tears that lead to infection or they're worse than Chemical exfoliants: Physical exfoliants that contain irregular granular sizes and shapes are definitely going to irritate your skin. But if you're a well-experienced skincare person or someone who knows how to handle gentle, small granular exfoliants well like professionals, in such hands it can be a very effective. Take Micro-dermabrasion or Dermaplaning for instance. If you haven't done it before it's likely to cause you some irritation, I wouldn't say damage as it's a truly strong and deep term to use. Our skin can naturally heal itself to a large degree, that self-healing capability can be overstressed with exogenous (outside/physical) factors and sometimes Indogenous (inner) factors such as your ethnicity, genetics and some skin conditions like dermititis, rosacea or psoriasis. So, my point here is, the myth that only physical exfoliators cause any damage to our skin is incorrect. On top of that, physical exfoliants cause micro-tears is a far stretched myth that doesn't have enough scientific evidence to support. The thing about it is anything harsh on our skin is going to cause inflammation and redness but chemical exfoliants can cause the same if done too much. For our skin to break or tear and get a cut there needs to be a lot of pressure and sharpness to the object. The scrubs don't necessarily tear/cut our skin unless you're rubbing it too harsh or with a lot of pressure and over-doing it. Chemical exfoliators can overstress and irritate our skin at the same degree as well, if overdone. Damage is a strong word for any skincare regimen that is backed by science. It's a fairly vast topic to discuss here but here's the crux of the topic that I'm trying to highlight. Not over-exfoliating is the only key to keep our skin healthy and non-irritated. Be it physical or chemical exfoliants. We need some of the dead skin cells on our Stratum Corneum. Meaning, we should let our Stratum Corneum have a layer of some dead skin cells along with it's biome. The diverse yet integrated functions of the SC collectively serve to detect, protect, respond, and/or adapt against several exogenous factors. Now, why I like or majority of people like chemical exfoliants is because they seem to be hustle free, you apply a thin layer and leave it overnight or for few minutes and it thins down our Stratum Corneum that is the deal skin cells on our skin as well as penetrates deeper in skin and decongests it. But for many people chemical exfoliants can be quite intimidating and if they like to do manual Exfoliation it's totally fine as long as they're not putting a lot of pressure and overdoing it. ✔️👍 I like both physical and chemical exfoliation. I use these chemical facial peeling solutions or masks as well as gentle scrubs to take care of my dead skin. These are some of the exfoliators I use. ✨EMPTIES✨
These are my October/November empties: SAND&SKY - Australian Pink Clay Porefining Face Mask mini pink skys Australian clay mask. I really liked this sample, I found that my skin looked brighter and clearer after use, and it worked great on blemishes :) Supergoop! - Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40 also enjoyed using this sunscreen, I hate when spfs feel greasy and leave white casts, and this was clear and left my skin with a mattish finish. I would consider repurchasing, it’s just a bit pricey at $34 for 1.7oz. SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream I love this so much! It smells amazing and it’s super hydrating, I already have the bigger size 😍 VERSED - FOUND THE LIGHT Powder With VC I liked how easy this was to add to any product (I was adding a couple of shakes to my morning moisturizer), but ultimately I don’t think it did much for my skin so I wouldn’t repurchase. CAUDALIE - Vinopure Natural Salicylic Acid Pore Minimizing Toner and CAUDALIE - Vinopure Pore Purifying Gel Cleanser both were great minis, and they lasted me a while. They smell amazing, and did their job. I would consider purchasing the full sizes in the future. THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum - not really an empty but it expired and turned a weird color so it’s time to toss. I like it and have another one that I will probably open soon. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Face Toner - I liked this toner, I know people aren’t big fans of witch hazel but I find it works well for my skin. I got it in a FFF box and it lasted a while, but It’s expensive and nothing too special so I won’t be repurchasing. COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch i liked these little patches, they’re affordable and do a great job of drawing out pimple gunk.

✨My Setting Spray Awards✨
I have typically oily skin with the occasional breakout and dry spot, depending on the season. Right now since it’s winter, my skin has been pretty dry, but usually my skin is oily. I like to change the setting spray I use depending on how my skin is acting that day, the type of look I’m trying to achieve, or what I have planned that day/how long I need my makeup to last! My UD sprays are the older packaging, but work the same. I stocked up whenever Sephora put the old packaging on clearance a while ago. I also spray these as the final step before I do my mascara, then I’m ready to leave for the day! . Best for Long Days: URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray keeps making looking freshly applied for at least 16 hours. I love using this when I know I need my makeup to last all day or I’ll be busy and won’t have time to touch it up. The nozzle of the sprayer is one of the easiest ones I’ve ever used, it’s always consistent and never gets caught or stuck and sprays a fine mist that doesn’t make your face wet, but sets the makeup nicely and locks it in place. There is no noticeable scent! You barely need a few spritz of this for it to work, so it will last a while! Price: $15 for Mini size (1 oz/30 mL); $33 for Standard size (4 oz/118 mL); $42 for Value size (8 oz/236 mL) . Best for Oily Skin: URBAN DECAY - De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray controls oils, keeps the face matte and makeup looking freshly applied. I enjoy using this whenever my skin is being oily, I know I can always count on it. It doesn’t dry out my skin either, which I’ve found a lot of oil-controlling setting sprays will do. This has the same nozzle as the All Nighter so I love it and know it won’t mess up my base makeup. This helps prolong the oil that can overtake my foundation and ruin my look. There is no noticeable scent! You barely need a few spritz of this for it to work, so it will last a while! Price: $15 for Mini size (1 oz/30 mL); $33 for Standard size (4 oz/118 mL) . Best Dewy Finish: SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Radiant Dew Mist has a nice minty, refreshing scent that invigorates the senses. It’s a hydrating mist that soothes, protects, and illuminates the skin. It has a great nozzle that can have larger size droplets, but I also like to really spray my face with this 😝. I love using this when my face is on the drier side since I do notice my skin doesn’t feel as tight and melts my foundation and powder products into the skin and creates a more natural look. I don’t find that it makes my skin more oily though out the day. I also enjoy using this during the day whenever my skin feels a little right or needs a boost, this is the perfect pick me up! I’m flying through this with how much I’ve been using it recently due to my skin being drier from the weather! It’s so good! I got it in my Fall 2019 FabFitFun box and have bought more from the brand with how much I’ve loved this product. Price: $35 for 4.06 oz

I triple recommend this cleanser because this is a gem. It is a nice face cleanser but also a makeup remover and it smells really nice. I cannot wait to get more as I ran out of it. Great to use in the shower too.

Skin & Co Roma ⁣⁣⁣⁣ skinandco⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣TRUFFLE THERAPY FACE TONER ($30 or 2 pack for $45) - Ideal for all skin types. Truffle Therapy Face Toner deeply cleanses and purifies pores with the antiseptic power of Witch Hazel and Sage, effectively removing impurities, clogged pores and dead skin cells to treat, heal, and prevent blemishes. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ TRUFFLE THERAPY WHIPPED CLEANSING CREAM ($35) - Ideal for all skin types. Kiss dry, dull, and flaky skin goodbye! Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream is a highly concentrated gel-crème cleanser formulated to deeply cleanse skin, remove makeup, dirt and impurities, effectively keeping pores free and clear from congestion and blemishes while soothing and calming sensitivity-prone complexions. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣ TRUFFLE THERAPY SERUM ($70) - Ideal for all skin types, Truffle Therapy™ Serum prepares and protects skin from daily environmental and free radical damage, and doubles as a primer to create the perfect base for makeup application. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ MY THOUGHTS: I noticed diminished bumps and texture within a week of using. I did not notice the same effect with the c-firma serum from DE. The whipped cleansing cream is so decadent. It was kind to my face while cleansing and brightening. Probably my favorite cleanser I have tried lately. The toner uses witch hazel which is gentle on my skin yet powerful enough to prevent breakouts while I have been using morning and night. I love the light scents to these products – which varies, dissipates quickly. I highly recommend these products.⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣

Aromatherapy in a bottle 🌿
This body wash smells so good! 🌿 I received this body wash recently and used it for the first time yesterday during my shower 🌿 I used my loofah with it to aid in exfoliation. This body wash lathered really nicely and easily, which was surprising. 🌿 I describe it as aromatherapy because the body wash has notes of lemongrass and wild orange, which I love. It’s a very pleasant scent and it’s light, not overly powerful or pungent. 🌿I will def be using this again. I was skeptical when I received it but I absolutely love it. My skin was so soft after use, but didn’t feel greasy. 🌿it’s a great addition to a relaxing, steamy shower.

Truffle oil cleanser bust😩
Skin type: Fair with rosacea and Eczema I got this in my fab fit fun box. I was very excited to try it, had heard so many good things about this cleanser. I used it for other 2 months straight and I could never fall in love with this product. To use you have to shake well and squeez on a cotton ball. Use circular motion to remove makeup and stubborn eye makeup . Rinse with warm water💦 It removes makeup and eye makeup great, but the con is it takes a lot of product. I feel the formula needs to be tweaked a little, it makes your skin feel soft the next day and helps smooth dry patches but does leave behind a greasy residue on your face all night. I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends at the price of $30.00 and the amount you have to use is not worth it. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Cleansing Oil

✨Product Claims vs My Thoughts✨
I have typically oily skin that occasionally breaks out or gets a dry spot. This cleansing oil is way different than I’ve known cleansing oils to be. Usually, cleansing oils are rubbed into dry skin with the hands and then removed with a washcloth. This one instructs you to pour this on cotton pads and rub off your makeup. It’s more time consuming and so wasteful because I can easily use 2-3 cotton pads each night with this. I’ve already used this much after only two uses. I got this in a set of the brand from Ulta since I enjoyed their setting spray so much, but wow this is a big disappointment. ✅ removes makeup decently, it can remove face makeup with ease since you’re basically just rubbing it off with the cotton pad, but wow you really have to work with this for eye makeup. You have to let it sit on the eye area for eyeliner and regular mascara, so I can’t even imagine the hassle with waterproof mascara. Each time I’ve used this, I’ve had mascara under my eyes still from this not removing my makeup properly in that area. It also had a tough time with my lipstick. It definitely doesn’t cleanse the skin because it leaves an oily feeling behind that is typical of oil cleansers, which is why they’re mainly used as first cleansers, then you use another cleanser afterwards. You would definitely want to use a second cleanser after this. I don’t mind that, but I just hate how they say this is basically a two in one cleanser, when it isn’t even a good first cleanser. I don’t like this product at all, the packaging is hard to use because the bottle is hard to squeeze and get a lot out at once, so you have to wait for it to drip out, it isn’t that good at removing makeup, and hate that I have to use cotton rounds to use it. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, there are cheaper options out there that do a far better job than this one. It isn’t worth the price nor time it takes to use because it is expensive for what it does and who wants to just sit there and wait for it to come out and have to really rub your skin (creating wrinkles in the long run). SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Cleansing Oil Price: $30 for 6.8 oz Rating: 2/5

I’ll admit it, this product makes me nervous!! I’ve been skipping a toner for a while in my skincare routine simply because I haven’t been able to find one I’m stoked about. The last one I used regularly was the SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Face Toner which I wasn’t crazy about (clearly.) It was good for a little bit, but then it was making me skin overproduce oil which I was not a fan of. Fingers crossed that this Carbon Theory. - Facial Purifying Tonicmeets - and exceeds - my high expectations!

This Skin&Co product is nice.
This Skin&Co product is nice. My first time using it. So far, I like it. It gently exfoliates skin with grounded apricot kernel. While also delivering hydration. The gommage has pure truffle extract and sweet almond oil. Helps maintain skin's natural moisture, and provides anti-reddening properties. Was very soothing for my face, and gave it a fresh, glowy look and feel. Like baby soft skin. Didn't notice much difference yet, as far as the anti-reddening part goes. But it feels so lovely while using, and did gently exfoliate quite well. Smells sweet and so delicious! And they're cruelty free!🐰Clean natural skincare.💚

Truffle Therapy’s face gommage is everything you need for brighter softer skin. 🥥💧 This is actually for your face and your neck and it smells delicious. Though it doesn’t say what it’s supposed to smell like, but to me it smells like coconuts. Some of the oils in it are fruit and almond oil. I love the way that it feels on my skin. And it can be used every day I think. I use it in the shower and my skin thrives with it! 🥥💧I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a face gommage. And the price is great for what it is. Not too pricey for how well it does on the skin. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Gommage

This is one of the best exfoliates that I have ever used!! It is sort of high priced ($28 for 1floz), but it works like a charm! I saw such a large difference in my face after just one use! I am not incredibly happy with the fact that it contains perfume...but other than that, it’s life changing!

Battle of the Face Mists!
Battle of the Face Mists!
I’m not going to lie, I thought face mists were kind of gimmicky. That is, until the dry mountain air + staying at home for 2 months sucked all the life out of my face. My skin is dry to begin with, and lately it’s been extra dry due to staying inside most of the time. I’ve started incorporating face mists into my skincare routine after toner in the AM + PM, as well as a mid-day spritz (or 3) to keep my face hydrated. I’m going to discuss 3 of my most used mists, and in my video I’ve demoed spritzing them. Apologies in advance it’s difficult to see the mist (I only have white walls in my apt), so turn your volume up to hear the mist instead! GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon Glow Ultra-Fine Mist I received this in a Boxycharm. It’s very, very well-loved and hyped in the beauty community. It smells like a watermelon jolly rancher, has an extremely fine mist, and instantly hydrates my skin without being sticky or greasy. It contains watermelon extract, hyaluronic acid, hibiscus flower, and apple cider vinegar to hydrate, soothe, smooth, and balance oil production for a light glow. It does leave my skin looking a tiny bit glowy, which I like, and it’s great over makeup. It retails for $28 for 2.5oz. I’d repurchase on sale. SKIN&CO - Truffle Therapy Radiant Dew Mist also came in a Boxycharm. The mister on this is not fine at all, so I can’t use this over makeup because it leaves splotches. I stead I use this after toner or if I’m bare faced. My main issue with this is that it contains peppermint, which can be irritating to the skin, especially over dry patches. It has a pleasant scent and feels nice on my skin, but for the price and fact that it contains peppermint it’s not something I’d repurchase. It contains black truffle, rosemary, ginger, and rose to leave skin glowing and soothed (though like I said I don’t find it soothing). It retails for $35 for 4oz. YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist with Reishi + Ashwagandha is the most expensive mist I have ever owned, and is probably almost as hyped as the GR mist above. I purchased it during the Sephora VIB sale, so I did save some coin. The mist on this is almost as fine as the GR mist. I loveeee using this in my skincare routine and as a mid-day refresh. It instantly adds hydration to my face. It has minimal scent and didn’t irritate my picked at, angry dry patches. It truly is soothing. It contains reishi, pentapeotide, ashwagandha, and hyaluronic acid to sloth redness and irritation, hydrate, boost of antioxidants, and retain moisture. Holy cow, though, it’s $46 for 4oz. I’d be lying if I told you guys I’d purchase this again unless it’s on sale or I have a gift card. I’ve found I’m flying through this, even only using it 2x/day. It’s just too expensive. 🥇My winner: Glow Recipe!🥇
