Tretinoin week 1
So far I’ve now applied my tretinoin cream 0.025% 3 times I started November 2nd. I have done it basically every 2 days so I applied Monday the 2nd, then Thursday the 5th, then again on Sunday the 8th. I’m planning on keeping up with this routine for the next week, then i will switch to every other night and so on, so far I haven’t noticed many side effects. I still use the same products VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I apply the mighty patches occasionally on really bad pimples on nights im not using tretinoin. I honestly don’t really like the vanicream moisturizer, I don’t like how thick it is it seems difficult to spread it across my face without feeling like I have to rub it in or force it to glide. It also makes my face look pretty oily. The only think I actually like it about it is that it hasn’t caused any irritation to my skin which was expected. If anyone has any recommendations for a good moisturizer to use with tretinoin preferably fragrance free I would love your suggestions! I also wanted to possibly starting using the VANICREAM - Z-Bar Medicated Cleansing Bar for my body (I get mild acne on my shoulders and sometimes on my chest or bottom 🤦🏻♀️) I also heard good things about it for your face to, does anyone recommend? I do like the sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 buttttttt it’s just not my favorite, the texture is okay but i feel like it leaves my face kind of red. I really would like to venture into a better one recommendations for a sunscreen would be much appreciated as well! 🙏 preferred to be fragrance free as well I’m still super scared for the purging stage, I’m hoping it turns around for me, the inflammation in my acne has gone down a bit but I’ve notice new breakouts on my chin and around my mouth also one on forehead but I have a feeling it’s due to my period that started this week as well as the copious amounts of candy I’ve been shoveling into my mouth since Halloween. 🤡 whoops. Whelp here’s to a better and healthier week!
Tret journey day one
Im officially starting tretinoin cream 0.025%. About a month ago my skin took a turn for the worst, so many things could have made it happen but still not sure what it was! It’s so discouraging not having the answers and not knowing what to do or how to fix it. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars and even dug myself a lil more into debt trying to find all sorts of different products to get rid of my acne but it was all a fail. :/ finally I decided to do a little more digging online and I think I’ve found a good place to start! I finally made an appointment with my primary care doctor : my insurance does NOT cover dermatologists :,( But I knew that my doctor could still prescribe me something. I decided to ask for tret because since I’ve been on this app I’ve seen a lot of people getting results using it with similar acne issues. I’m hoping and praying to god it works for me 🙏 My doctor did tell me to use it every night butttttt knowing my skin is more on the sensitive side I’m deciding to use it once every 2 nights for the first 2-3 weeks, and then kick it up to every other night for 2 weeks then depending on how my skin is doing I’ll push it to every night. I wanna give myself a fighting chance. And that also means cutting out dairy and sugars and drinking wayyyyy more water than I have been 🤦🏻♀️ guilty. I’m super nervous about the purging stage as my skin to me is already not lookin so hot and I’ve been super down on myself and my self esteem has seen wayyy better days 😅 but I’m not gonna give up! I’ve buckled down to the basics! Please please please let me know if you have any recommendations for skincare products I can include in the near future! 💜 My skincare routine right now is Morning -VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser -VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream -sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 Night VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser VANICREAM - Moisturizing Skin Cream And then tretinoin 0.025% every 2 nights

Low Maintenance, Minimal Makeup!
While we’re not really “on-the-go,” much right now, this is a list of my favorite products for a no-fuss day. These are pretty awesome products that I highly recommend you try if you haven’t yet! Rare Beauty - Positive Light Liquid Luminizer I give it four stars because it might not appeal to the folks who love having that super intense, glittery finish, and it can leave a stamp effect if used with brushes or most sponges. Otherwise if you’re into using your fingers to apply after using the doefoot applicator to apply on the back of your hand, with a natural finish, this could be your holy grail item! I moisturized with Supergoop! - Superscreen Daily Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 40 PA+++ and it’s fantastic. I get that dewy, glowy finish! Be careful getting this near your eyes though (of course😂)- I say this because I was in a rush and accidentally got it near the outer corner and my eye couldn’t stop tearing up for hours! Otherwise I’m getting so many benefits from this product- I have moreso sensitive than not skin and this has been great. There’s been no reactions and no breakouts! CLINIQUE - High Impact Lash Elevating Mascara love this mascara because it lifts and separates my lashes. My eyelashes curl naturally on their own, so I just need a mascara that lengthens and separates between each lash effectively. It’s easy to clean off too! Downside is that it can transfer because it’s not waterproof. Otherwise, love! I mix FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter with my ULTA BEAUTY - Radiant Shine Lipstick on the back of my hand, then use my fingers to dab the mixture on my cheeks to get that youthful flush/ glow combo. It looks radiant, not sweaty, just below my eyes! I use the Radiant Shine lipstick on my lips occasionally too- super versatile, multi-tasking product and shade in their lightest nude pink for my skin tone. For this shot, I used the sun bum - Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 it has the best taste ever! I run through it like crazy- while you can go through it fast, it works so well and makes my lips look incredibly hydrated, healthy and supple. I’ve worn it out on all-day boat rides or paddle boarding sessions and it’s protective! To conceal under my eyes, I’ve got the BECCA - Light Shifter Brightening Concealer I’ve been happier with it so far in days that I’m not using foundation. Haven’t tried it yet with my tinted SPF, but stay tuned! For bronzer, the Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color in Dusk works wonderfully. Literally my holy grail bronzer for winter and a color I mix with Glossier’s other cloud paint colors in the summer! What’s your favorite minimal makeup look? I’d love to know your favorite products!
SPF ROUNDUP ☀️
Happy Fourth of July weekend everyone🇺🇸! It’s no secret that I am obsessed with sunscreen and heading into the long weekend, I’m highlighting all my favorites for sun protection: FACE 🎆 elta md SKINCARE - UV Shield Full-Body Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 I start every day with this year round. It’s targeted at normal to oily skin, and has a lightweight finish. Even on top of my face oils, this doesn’t sit too heavily on my face even during the summer 🎆 Supergoop! - Glow Stick SPF 50 My summer obsession, this reef-safe, face oil/spf stick keeps you glowing, hydrated, and protected all day long 🎆 Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Liquid Sunblock Broad Spectrum SPF 70 another great stick for on-the go reapplication, this one has a more matte finish and a classic fresh neutrogena spf smell 🎆 Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Moisturizer SPF 30 my daily spf before I started using elta md. It’s better for normal to dry skin and I actually prefer it to elta md for winter because it focuses on moisturizing ingredients alongside spf 🎆 sun bum - Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 I love lip balms with sunscreen! This one tastes/smells like coconut and has aloe for hydration. The biggest downside is that it melts down like coconut oil so if you apply more than a super thin layer you’ll feel like you’re eating this. 🎆 BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 PA +++ another lightweight, reef safe sunscreen that leaves no white-cast. I have several sample size bottles of this that I keep everywhere but probably wouldn’t buy the full size as I find it a bit greasy/sticky BODY 🎇 Sun Bum Broad Spectrun SPF 50 (cannot find in cherie) is a great all around sunscreen for long days on the water! It smells like banana laffy taffy, rubs in easily, and is water resistant for 80 minutes 🎇 Supergoop! - Glow Oil SPF 50 I love body oils so I was naturally drawn to this product. It has a spray nozzle for easy application or can be dispensed into your hand and spread on. This absorbs immediately and leaves you glowy all over...swoon! 🎇 Lubriderm Daily Moisture Lotion with SPF 15 (also not on Cherie) is how I finally convinced my sunscreen-hating fiancé to use daily sun protection. He uses it on his face as well as his body and loves that it feels like a moisturizer rather than a sticky sunscreen. ☀️ I hope you all have fun in the sun this weekend (with lots of spf of course 😉). What’s your go-to sunscreen?!

Photo 1 - AM Routine CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I LOVE this cleanser. Its super gentle and makes my face feel incredibly clean. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% This product has definitely helped me control my sebum production resulting in clearer, smaller looking pores on my nose. This is the reason I got this serum so this makes me happy! I also feel like it helps me clear our my breakouts faster. Its a little tacky feeling when its sinking into your skin, but it does go away-just give it some time! Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream This moisturizer is great for my oily skin. It sinks in really well and feels great on my skin. It doesn't feel greasy at all, just feels like water. The only con I have is that it doesn't seem to keep my face hydrated all day long. It does keep it hydrated for the majority of the day though so its not such a big deal to me. There is no added fragrance or dye like the normal water-gel version. sun bum - Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 I am not gonna lie, I've only recently started wearing spf. (I know, I know. I'm still semi-new to good skincare) I dont have much to compare it to, but this doesn't seem all that bad. It does leave a bit of a greasiness, but I also feel like it's not that bad. It doesn't leave a white cast. It does smell like a tropical beach, kinda coconut-y, but I do not mind that at all and neither does my skin. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Sunscreen SPF 50I just got this product the other day so I dont have a rating yet. So far, it feels similar to the moisturizer, just a bit thicker. This leaves no white cast at all. Photo 2 - PM Routine GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Mattifying This product is awesome! It really helps remove makeup and spf without any kind of harsh rubbing. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Read above Radience Labs Collagen and Retinol Serum - Couldn't find this product on here, but I honestly don't know that it's doing much. My skin doesn't hate it, but I dont think I will repurchase it. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin This stuff is UNIQUE! It has bubbles on the top of it with a thick gel/cream moisturizer below. It feels great on the skin. It really feels like air! It soaks in quickly and feels very moisturizing. It feels thicker in the tub than it does on the skin. The only problem for me is that my cheeks seem to burn/tingle at first. My cheeks are the most sensitive part on my face, but once it soaks in, it feels fine. Simple - Water Boost Skin Quench Sleep Cream This really keeps my face hydrated all night long without waking up incredible oily. Photo 3 - Exfoliator FOREO - LUNA playI'll have another post in depth later. Sorry for the long post, but thanks for sticking with me! I am looking to change to a chemical exfoliator.
SUNSCREEN MYTHS DEBUNKED🧴✨ #CheriePartner
Sunscreen is an important product that protects are skin from damage such as cancer and sun poisoning. I’ve noticed that everyone from kids too adults hate putting it on and their excuses on why they do not can sometimes be questionable. Here are some of the common myths I hear about sunscreen: First, let’s start off with what’s the difference between the two types of ultraviolet rays. UVB-causes skin cancer UVA-causes skin damage (wrinkles, etc.) You a can’t get burned on cloudy days- I understand why some would think this given that the sun is nowhere to be found but clouds are only blocking a partial amount of UV rays causing the rest to still shine down onto the skins surface. Spf levels don’t matter after 50- Spf is tricky. The number amounts to how many times longer it would take the sun to burn you opppsed to if you were not wearing any at all. For example with spf 30, it would take 30x longer for the sun to cause damage with the protection than not wearing any at all. Now, the higher the spf, the higher the protection is sort of true but not by much. The percentage increases slightly such as 30 spf providing coverage for about 97% percent of the sun, 50 spf 98%, 50+spf 99% respectively. You can’t get a burn if you have a darker complexion: The darker the skin, the more melanin you have. Melanin does protect against some UV rays like UVB rays but not 100%. UVA rays still are going unprotected without the sunscreen so it’s important to still use sunscreen no matter the color of your complexion. What other myths do you hear about sunscreen?⬇️

Lip balms I rated 4-5⭐️Which would I repurchase?
🤷🏻♀️I think I can be a generous reviewer at times...though I try to be as thorough as I can with product description & personal experience, sometimes it’s still difficult to choose how many ⭐️s to rate a product. I try to use x for a while before reviewing, but I’ll admit, I do get excited about something new sometimes, so I’ll do what I label: a ‘First Impressions’ review. I stand behind all of my reviews, it’s just me & my products, no PR or anything. However, when I feel like my opinion of a product greatly changes after time, ima let you guys know! 💄So this brings me to a first of a kind post for me... I’m a real lip balm addict, definitely one of my favorite products to try. Unless I absolutely hate it, I’ll empty every one to the last application lol. Why waste it since I use it so often in my dry climate🏔 ⛄️All these babies are on empty (+1 more in the next slide I forgot about & in all honesty, I already ate the cookie) 🏁So I’ll share how I feel about them now & which one I would repurchase (a couple I already have!) Full review of each in previous posts. ➕Let’s start with the positives! Rating went up: ALGENIST - Genius Liquid Collagen Lip Old rating: 4⭐️$35/.34 oz I used this for 6 weeks before a review due to the nature of the product. Though they claim it can work in 10 days, I wanted to give it a fighting chance. I had rated this 4⭐️ because I loved everything about it, but no my lips did not get bigger. (extensive before/after pics in my old review) So it will not change lip size, but hear me out... This has been a phenomenally effective lip serum, I don’t think I can give it up now! When my lips are super dry, this is what I reach for. The formula & ceramic applicator are cooling, but even in this cold weather I looove it. You massage lips & they become alive & healthy looking! Layer a balm over once the formula soaks in- think of it as a lip serum💕So yes, though $ I will repurchase, large amount-it’s lasted 5+ months! Stayed the same: ARMANI beauty - Neo Nude Ecstasy Balm $34/.1 oz 001 Sooo luxurious & silky with Caper oil as a moisturizer. I have repurchased here & there, but due to the $, can’t make it a regular thing. unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip Ampoule $9/.35 oz New ultimate fav! Already repurchased & got 1 for my bf! sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm $5/.15 oz Nothin fancy, but my go-to lip balm w/SPF. Great ingredients & price. Definite repurchase! ...went down: UZ - 38°C/99°F LIP TREATMENT Old rating: 4⭐️$20/.21 oz ±0 This treatment balm has very hefty claims; one being “you won’t need lip balm again” The tube is beautiful, but due to its shape, you can’t get any product on the applicator after a bit, texture is too thick. TRULY - Unicorn Fruit Lip Plumping Balm Old rating: 5⭐️$14/1 oz The 1 oz jar is a lot, but the moisture won’t last & if it melts it’s🗑
Quick Lip Balm Roundup💫
💗 In order of favorite to didn’t like 😩 For more info/ingredients, check out my full reviews of almost all of these on my page😉💗 unpa.Cosmetics - Bubi Bubi Lip Ampoule $9 🇰🇷 My absolute favorite! Super hydrating & moisturizing with 3 forms of hyaluronic acid & Ceramides. Soft buttery rose scent🌹I can’t recommend this enough. The price tag isn’t even that bad considering you get twice as much product as a typical chapstick style tube lip balm. sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm $5 🇺🇸 My current go-to lip balm with sunscreen (Zinc/mineral) So moisturizing & nourishing for an SPF lip balm! Almond oil, Jojoba seed oil & Shea butter are the first 3 ingredients, & Argan oil comes in 6th. Barely there almond scent. LANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask $22 🇰🇷 Scent: Gummy Bear I love this indulgent balm even during the day. Not always in the mood for the grape candy scent though🐻🍇 LANEIGE - Lip Glowy Balm $17 🇰🇷 Scent: Gummy Bear A superb lipgloss-effect lip balm. Very moisturizing but not sticky. Scent isn’t as strong as the sleeping mask. UZ - 38°C/99°F LIP TREATMENT $25 🇯🇵 Shade: ±0 A very thick fragrance free repair balm with prebiotic properties. It’s currently the best selling lip treatment in Japan, but I didn’t feel it was new holy grail. clé de peau BEAUTÉ - UV Protective Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 30 $65 🇯🇵 A very overpriced chemical sunscreen lip balm that didn’t offer any lasting hydration, but rather made my lips dry & cracked. ChapStick - Moisturizer Original $1-$3 🇺🇸 I used this for years as my SPF lip balm, but it never really “worked” & I would apply it constantly! I stopped using products with petroleum/petroleum derivatives. I find that lip balms with Petrolatum (Vaseline) as the first ingredient/main emollient (moisturizer) just don’t work for me. Rosebud Perfume Co. - Rosebud Salve in a Tube $7 🇺🇸 🥀This is another Petrolatum lip balm that somehow makes its way into “Clean Beauty” at Sephora, but I feel this lip balm is too thin & slippery, & it just doesn’t offer any lasting moisture at all! My lips crave more when I apply this, making it a mess. Being the lip balm addict I am, I had to purchase this from the boutique I was working at last year one day during a shift when I forgot my chapstick. It was the only lip balm we sold😩 💗PLEASE DROP YOUR FAVORITE LIP BALM IN THE COMMENTS, I MUST KNOOOOOO !!!! ( or share one u hate so we can avoid it & save our $ lol)

⛅️End of Summer SPF roundup! Face & body🧴
Just because Summer is coming to an end, your love affair with daily UV protection never should. These are the sunscreens I tried this year that I wanted to share with you guys. 🌤An obvious disclaimer: my skin is very pale & I can’t totally predict how these products will blend into deep skin tones regarding “white cast” (the washing out effect that zinc based sunscreens can have) But I tried my best to give an idea of the texture before & after blending/absorbing, check out the slides🤍 KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 Texture: creamy & moisturizing Finish: very dewy/shiny SPF: 32 Type: Zinc Oxide 22.4% I did a thorough review of this probiotic moisturizing sunscreen in a previous post, it’s very detailed⚡️ Has a light natural vanilla-oatmeal scent & a slight beige tint. I love this one for being so moisturizing & comfortable to wear, but the finish is quite dewy, so I feel I need powder over this to wear it in public. sun bum - Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30 Texture: creamy & lightweight Finish: matte SPF: 30 Type: Titanium Dioxide 5.3% /Zinc Oxide 2.4% This is such a great inexpensive option for a matte, mineral sunscreen that leaves very minimal white cast. The cast is slightly blue, though it blends away on my skin, this could be problematic for darker tones. The texture is so creamy yet very lightweight, it reminds me of makeup primer. It’s quite moisturizing, has no scent & is the most matte out of the 3. SHISEIDO - Urban Environment Oil-Free UV Protector Broad Spectrum Face Sunscreen SPF 42 Texture: liquidy & lightweight Finish: matte SPF: 42 Type: Zinc Oxide 12.5% /Octinoxate 4.9% /Octocrylene 3% This has been my go-to for years. It’s a combination of mineral & chemical sunscreens, & is oil free. You have to shake the contents really well first, but it has a little shaker ball inside to help. I love the texture of this, really light & absorbs well without being overly matte. I do always need moisturizer on under this though. The white cast is really minimal even with reapplication, & it’s never irritated my dry skin. Neutrogena - Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Spray SPF 45 Texture: lightweight liquid aerosol Finish: satin/semi sheen SPF: 45 Type: Homosalate 15% /Oxybenzone 6% /Octisalate 5% /Avobenzone 3% /Octocrylene 2.35% Honestly this makes my skin feel itchy & tight after applying, even after I moisturize. I’ve been steering away from purely chemical sunscreen formulas like this, but chemical sunscreens do work better for sone people. I wouldn’t recommend for dry or sensitive skin. sun bum - Mineral Continuous Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 Texture: creamy, medium weight aerosol Finish: velvet matte SPF: 30 Type: Zinc Oxide 14% Has a sort of tropical scent & feels good on the skin. Though some white cast, it’s not the ‘blue’ tint the face lotion has. Full review in a previous post.
Going ALL MINERAL🧴☀️
🌻Tried a few new sun-care products today... For my face, I’ve been using a zinc based but also chemical sunscreen for years. I was never that picky about body sunscreens, but never found one I really like enough to repurchase. I also ditched my usual ‘chapstick spf 15’ because I decided to stop using petroleum products. ☀️So I thought I’d try some mineral options🤷🏻♀️ So what’s the difference between chemical & mineral (sometimes called “physical”) sunscreen?: MINERAL ingredients form a barrier on the surface of the skin to reflect UV rays away from the skin. Zinc Oxide & Titanium Dioxide. CHEMICAL ingredients penetrate the top layers of the skin to absorb UV rays. These filters absorb damaging UV rays before they can damage the skin. Including but not limited to: Oxybenzone, Avobenzone, Octisalate, Octocrylene, Homosalate, Octinoxate, Ecamsule, & Octyl salicylate. 🩹There’s a lot of debate about which one works better & which is safe... but more about that in a future post. Mineral sunscreen is generally regarded as much lower risk, but a lot of people, especially those with darker skin tones can find it troublesome because zinc products often leave a white cast on skin. ⚠️So I definitely wanted to address that aspect in these 3 reviews. However, I’m not a great tester or representation for deeper skin tones. I can’t say how these products will perform on dark skin. 👄First up, the Signature zinc lip balm SPF 30 $5/.15 oz This balm will work great for all skin tones! Has a delicate shine, mutes the color of lips a tiny bit, but not very noticeable. sun bum - Signature SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm I love this ingredient list! Some of my favorites like sweet almond oil, jojoba seed oil, shea butter, & argan oil make up 4 of the first 6 ingredients along with beeswax & candelilla wax. Has a natural almond oil/ argan oil type scent that some may not care for. But omg this was so moisturizing!! I’m a very hard critic on lip balms, so take it from me... this is my new SPF lip balm! It’s so creamy & very affordable at just $4.99. I think it’s identical to their other mineral spf lip balm in a white tube, which is $3.99 the one I purchased is called “signature” but I think it’s just black packaging difference. sun bum - Mineral Continuous Sunscreen Spray SPF 30 $18/6 oz First off I think this is pretty great, I enjoy the feel (moisturizing with out being shiny) but the sprayer could be better. So that’s just something to note... I showed it sprayed kinda close, but if you spray farther, it can be messy & get on clothing. So something to consider, but the white cast blended in quite well. It smells a bit tropical, kind of like sunscreen, but more like Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum cream, warm & nutty🧡 sun bum - Mineral Face Lotion SPF 30 $18/1.7 oz Had a slight blue cast, but blended nice & matte. Very lightweight! Would make a great makeup primer & has no scent whatsoever.

☀️Sun Bum face balm☀️
G’day all😍 On the days when I feel like rocking the no makeup look I use this face sunscreen. Sun Bum is a company that makes sunscreen and hair products that are cruelty free, vegan, the chemicals in the sunscreen don’t harm the marine life and the packaging is kerbside recyclable ♻️ This face balm isn’t greasy, doesn’t leave nasty streaks and is banana scented 🍌. It’s hypoallergenic and doesn’t have any parabens or fragrances. I take this with me everywhere and reapply ever 2 hours. My boyfriend uses this too, he has very dry skin and likes that it doesn’t irritate it. He’s also a fussy baby and won’t wear sunscreen if it’s the greasy kind. It’s extremely important to wear sunscreen to keep skin cancer and premature ageing at bay. Keep your skin protected. Ciao~💕
SPF is super important in day to day skincare. I have yet to find one that I am obsessed with but this sunbum spf stick is pretty good. It is an sunscreen stick with a sunproof factor of 30. It it targeted to protect your skin from harmful uv rays. I enjoy this particular sunscreen because you can throw it in your bag and go. Also the texture is soft and goes on easily. It doesn’t leave my skin greasy and absorbs quickly. An added bonus is that it smells like banana laffy taffy! I have always like sunbum products so I was excited to try this sunscreen. I use this as my travel one and it has lasted me for months. It has been hard for me to find a sunscreen that doesn’t clog my pores but this one does a pretty good job of not making me break out. This is a $10 sunscreen and it works pretty well. I would recommend this to people looking for a well priced effective sunscreen! 5 stars from me!sun bum - Sunscreen Face Stick SPF 30

🌟My Skincare Journey: Adult Acne ❕❕💫
Pimples don’t stop at puberty. And I learned the hard way 😭. I was lucky to not have had a lot of breakouts in my teens. But it hit me when I turned 20 (2 years ago!). All the insecurities I thought I confronted when I was in high school, all came flooding back. 😳 🌱2018: Painful Acne🌱(2nd slide, left pic) I don’t have many photos of myself from 2018 because I was so insecure about my skin. I would pick at it and avoid mirrors at all costs. And at times it even hurt to touch my face. The pic shown, was me on a VERY good skin day and one of the only photos I have of myself without makeup in 2018. 🌞What I wish I knew: just because my skin is having trouble, DOES NOT equal needing more products! it’s all about using the right ones. STOP over-exfoliating! ESPECIALLY with harsh acids everyday. try not to pick! (Easier said than done) your worth is not defined by your skin! (ALSO easier said than done) SUNSCREEN!!!!! 🌱2019:Scarring🌱(2nd slide, pics on the right) Finally seeing results in my skin! But I wasn’t prepared for the scarring and texture. What made it even more obvious was the makeup I was using. It also dried out my skin (which was already flaky w/ dry patches & oily at the same time😭). My skin also seemed dull and tired—which was probably to do with the anxious over-cleansing. I was terrified my acne would come back! 🌞What I wish I knew: treat your makeup like your skincare. ingredients are so important! don’t cleanse in the AM like you do in the PM. you’re stripping your skin and increasing the overproduction of oil=oily, flaky, dry MADNESS 🥴 be kind to yourself! you’re seeing results 💓 🌱2020: Feeling better, still learning I’ve FINALLY found a routine that’s helped me. And I am no longer afraid of the mirror. And TBH I never should’ve been! Confidence comes with time and while no one wAnTs acne, it is normal and we should de-stigmatize acne. We shouldn’t treat ourselves (or let others) poorly because of it. Teen Acne Help!
I have been struggling with acne for around 2 years now and in the past 1.5 months i upped my skincare to what i currently have! I use the app skincare to organize and simplify my routine to make sure everything isn’t conflicting when i use it. Cleansers: CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I use this 1-4 times a week at night or in the morning during a breakout, making sure to not use the PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator with it. In the mornings i mostly cleanse with water and will use another cleanser occasionally during a bad breakout. CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I recently bought this cleanser for a more gentle cleanse without as many direct acids as my SA one. I don’t currently have it where i am but i will use it mostly at night and a few times in the morning. Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser I also bought this one recently for a gentle cleanse for where i currently am (divorced parents) and i use it at night and in the mornings every once in awhile. Exfoliaters: The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution I use this every 1.5 weeks on my tzone and cheeks for 10 minutes. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator I will use this in the mornings without a cleanser on all of my face concentrating on my forehead. Serums: The main serum i use about once a day is the The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% because it doesn’t directly conflict with most of my products. i do not use the NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% at the same time as this. I will occasionally use the íUNIK - Tea Tree Relief Serum also. I recently bought the CeraVe - Skin Renewing Retinol Cream Serumbut have only used it once without anything else. Moisturizer: The Ordinary - Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA I love this moisturizer bc it makes my skin feel amazing! I use it everyday and apply a pea sized amount as directed by the ordinary & deciem. Updated skin care routine
For those who asked, yes I have updated my skin care routine. I have a simple one i do on my lazy days and an in-depth one i do when i truly have the time and patience. I start by cleansing my face with CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser which I have loved since I’ve gotten it. It’s a gentle cleanser that cleans out my pores and keeps my face clear and smooth. I started using acne.org - Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide – 2.5%) And I have seen a huge difference in just a few days with the small break out I had due to my wonderful cycle lol i love this stuff. For toner I use FENTY SKIN - Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum It’s some days I skip this step because i don’t find it necessary, i haven’t seen anything special about it but I use it some days when I do my extensive routine. I go in with 3 products from the ordinary during my in-depth routine The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Honestly i am not sure if i have seen a difference using these but i just want to clear my hyperpigmentation. Moisturizers: CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion OKAY SO IM GUILTY OF USING THIS AT ALL TIMES OF THE DAY AND NOT JUST AT NIGHT! but it’s just so nice 🥺 FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen I use this and i love the fact that it has sunscreen in it but i still use sun bum - Clear Zinc SPF 50 at the end of my routine Simple Routine: in order CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser acne.org - Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide – 2.5%) FENTY SKIN - Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion sun bum - Clear Zinc SPF 50 Deep routine: CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser acne.org - Treatment (Benzoyl Peroxide – 2.5%) The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA The Ordinary - Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion FENTY SKIN - Hydra Vizor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen sun bum - Clear Zinc SPF 50 If anyone has any questions or suggestions comment below.. I’m usually really good about responding 🥰
My Beach Bag Essentials
SPF: obviously every beach bag needs products with spf (I do use a higher spf on my sun damage prone areas like my shoulders it’s just not a part of this post) 🐨 Australian Gold continuous bronzing spray is a sunscreen that I immediately fell in love with! It bronzes your skin very evenly and subtlety and that’s a huge plus for me cause I get self conscious with my pasty skin at the beginning of summer 😅 it also dries immediately and doesn’t leave any greasy residue! It smells great too 🥰 🍌 sun bum - Original SPF 30 Sunscreen Lip Balm, Banana I love these lip balms.. I’m really liking the banana one right now. They go on so smooth and taste and smell so yummy. I also find they do a good job of keeping my lips soft and moisturized and they don’t get cracked and dry in the sun with the spf protection! 🌞 sun bum - Original 'Face 50' SPF 50 Sunscreen Lotion This is my favourite face sunscreen that I’ve tried so far. It feels nice and light and doesn’t clog your pores! The packaging is super cute and the price is right. I also don’t have any issue with this pilling when I’m layering multiple products on in the morning sun bum - SPF 15 Sunscreen Tanning Oil I know trying to get a tan at all is a bit controversial with the danger of uv rays but for anyone who uses tanning oil this is a great one!! The 15 spf keeps you from having painful burns and peeling skin for weeks after a day in the sun Refresh: my main thing about hanging out at the beach for the day is feeling not so fresh/over heated 🌬pixi - Hydrating Milky Mist I’ve talk about this facial mist already but I really do love it. The package design deserves a lot of credit because it really is a mist not a spray!! It always dispenses the perfect amount. And it leaves my face feeling replenished and helps to feel cooled down in the heat 🌻SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist This stuff smells incredible and the smell lasts forever! I spray my hair and clothes/body. It’s great to freshen up if you’re starting to feel sweaty. The mini size is perfect to carry around for a touch up. Feel free to leave your favourite beach bag products in the comments I’d love to hear them 💕
Glossier & Sun Bum
EDITED 6/14/20-CLAY MASK BURNS!!!! First off the body hero body wash and body cream- it’s a hard scent to describe but if anyone knows what that gas station hand soap smells like you know when you have to go to a rest stop on a like 4 hour car ride cause you can’t hold your pee anymore? Smells exactly like that, the body wash is a much lighter version of the scent so I don’t mind it but the body cream has a weird after scent if that’s a thing? Beautiful and thick which I love but that damn scent!! Ugh I can’t stand it in the body cream. So 4/5 cause it’s not terrible but the smell is not my cup of tea The face mask duo is actually really good, the moisturizing moon mask smells like silly putty which I don’t mind not strong, has a jelly consistency and is very very moisturizing. THE CLAY MASK HOWEVER BURNED MY FACE LITERALLY! It’s all red like I got a terrible sunburn, and don’t know why at all I used it before and it tingled but didn’t leave red ass sunburn skin behind last time I used it entire face was red and burned! -5/5 for the clay mask it will burn your face!!! P.s. I don’t have sensitive skin or anything so I don’t know what caused it to burn but I’m throwing it in the garbage! Waste of money! Get the moisturizing mask if you want moisture just stay far away from the clay one holy Crap! Also I’m pretty sure it made me sick and nauseous too, I don’t know what is in there but it’s just not good people trust me on this one Sum bum spf 70- I love the summer coconut banana scent it reminds me of happiness and sunshine, I’m actually going to buy their face spf in the regular formula and the zinc formula because I’m always looking for a great cheap spf that’s actually higher then 30! I’m a pale girl and more prone to skin cancer because I’m blonde hair and blue eyed so I need that higher spf. 5/5 living for this summer coconut smell. Like a vacation for me 🏝

Sun Bum at it again
As promised I did buy the sun bum cool down lotion and the face sunscreen. The face sunscreen is just a regular face sunscreen doesn’t break me out, makes me look dewy too, only thing is it doesn’t have their amazing summer coconut smell but hey it’s spf 50 so I’ll take it The cool down lotion does have their amazing summer coconut smell and it also has Shea butter in it, it’s more light/liquid texture but it does hydrate very well. I really like using this as a summer lotion for my body All of the sun bum products are just amazing!! I highly recommend you try them out if you want to smell like a beautiful summer coconut!

Lips Need Sunscreen, Too!!!
To be completely transparent, I only bought this because it was a tinted lip balm with sunscreen. I had used a Sun Bum lip balm in the past and wasn’t terribly impressed but WOAH. Color payoff ✅ Moisturizing ✅ Fading ❎ The color is a very coral pinky nude that goes great with my fair complexion. This is the perfect summer tinted lip balm. Does it smell like tropical sunscreen? Absolutely. But it’s in a summery fun way that I don’t really mind. Definitely will be purchasing more shades! sun bum - Tinted SPF 15 Lip Balm

Sunscreen is ESSENTIAL
Having been playing soccer since I was 5 I am constantly in the sun and up until recently never wore sunscreen, and I would never burn. The most that would happen is that my cheeks would get a slight flush to them. However, despite my seemingly inability to burn, I have recently come to the epiphany (thanks to the beauty lovers of the world) that sunscreen will help prevent wrinkles, premature aging, and so much more. I wear at least an SPF 30 daily, but given that it’s generally hot and sunny wear I love, I tend to reach for SPF 50 more times than not. Below are the two sun care products that I use daily sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I use this sunscreen pretty much everyday! It’s extremely light weight and feels like there’s nothing on your skin. I love that it isn’t greasy and is also water resistant. I highly recommend this for anyone who works out, especially outside, because your sweat won’t take it off. Supergoop! - AcaiFusion Lip Balm Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Yes! Your lips need sun protection, and this lip balm is perfect. One application last pretty much all day and leaves a glossy finish.

The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution RoC - Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules sun bum - Sunscreen Face Stick SPF 30 i just put on the sunscreen and it has a lovely scent, although it did leave my skin a bit slick no complaints here! i will update on how these work for me 😊

Current skincare products ✨
Just wanted to share a few products that have been working really well for me to keep my skin clear, glowing, and hydrating. By the way the reason it says my "dark spots" are so high is because it's counting my freckles :( The toner I am using is BANILA CO - Dear Hydration Toner It is so light and really hydrates my skin. I find that whenever I use it my skin is much softer and much more dewy. EDIT- this has denatured alcohol as the 4th ingredient so I stopped using it. As a night cream I use ANDALOU NATURALS - 1000 Roses, Heavenly Night Cream for Sensitive If you were to pick any night cream, this one is AMAZING. It is so hydrating but light, and it soaks in quickly. Pairs great with the toner. For cleanser I use the basis - Sensitive Skin Bar It is so good. Not only does it get everything off, it also moisturizers and doesn't strip the skin of necessary natural oils. It's the best cleanser I've ever used. As a face mask that I use every 2 weeks, I use FACETORY - All About Balance Box for Combination Skin Masks. They are so hydrating and clear my skin right up!!! The only reason I give them 4 stars is because peel off face masks are not good for the planet. Tip: save the extra serum inside the mask package to put on your skin ! In the daytime I use ANDALOU NATURALS - Facial Lotion, 1000 Roses, Daily Shade, SPF 18, Sensitive . It’s so hydrating and soaks in easily, but never clogs my pores ! I love the SPF it has, too. In my eye area, I always use OLE HENRIKSEN - Total Truth Eye Creme SPF 15 The skin absorbs the amount of this product needed, you only need a little bit. It's not greasy. I will say it takes about 15 minutes to fully absorb, but it's worth it because it helps brighten your under eye area and leaves your eye area and brow bone smooth and healthy. It's very gentle and unscented as well. As my SPF, I am a huge fan of SKINCEUTICALS - Physical UV Defense Sunscreen SPF 30 It protects my skin very, very well and wears great under makeup. The price point is higher, but this is such a high quality sunscreen that it's 100% worth it. For acne, I use Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Which works well on acne and is a pretty basic benzol peroxide treatment. For my lips, I use sun bum - Mineral Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 If I could rate this 6 stars, I would. It keeps my lips moisturized and protected for hours after I apply it. I take this EVERYWHERE. If you made it down here, thanks for reading ! ! ly <3
