My Go To Products for Vibrant Makeup
I'm not a brand ambassador for Sugarpill, but they make such great vibrant makeup that I keep bringing them up in my reviews. Sugarpill came out with the Fun Size palette last year. 🐱 This palette alone has filled every need I have to do bright eyeshadow ever. Before this palette, the problem I had with a lot of bright / pastel shadows was that they were chalky. 😢 A lot of them had a white base, so they looked really ashy and draining on my skin. I don't know how Sugarpill did it, but this palette is nothing like that. I have used the shades Cheat Code, Player One, Level Up, and High Score the most. Even with a translucent primer, the color shows up pigmented. ❤️ Some colors, like High Score, don't show up 100% opaque on first application. But that's a good thing because it let's you tone it down to a watercolor pastel look if you want. The colors lasted all day on my eyes without fading. I even wore the orange pink look above to a dance festival, and it stood up through a LOT of spinning. To complete your look, you can opt for a subtle gloss. Or, you can go all out with the lip colors Sugarpill offers. 💄 In the third slide, I swatched their liquid lipstick in the shade "Cubby" on my arm. 🍊 It took only two swipes to reach that vibrancy and it dried down in two minutes. One more thing I love about Sugarpill: the adorable packaging. That may or may not have been what drew me to them... But at least it lead me to great makeup.

🍒 Red Lips: Rimmel or Sugarpill?
Almost every brand has a red lipstick. So I decided to compare one from the drugstore and mid-range. Drugstore 🌹 Rimmel Lasting Finish in Kiss of Life 111 ($4.99) This lipstick is creamy and shiny. It’s not a liquid, so it does transfer to what it touches. But it still kept my lips moisturized and lasted through the day. I applied it directly from the bullet, and one layer gave me a soft coat of color. I applied two more layers of it to make it more opaque. At three layers, I was satisfied with how the color popped. Overall, it’s a good product. It’s a little brighter than Nurse, but I found it pretty for a nice daytime red. Higher-End 🥀 Sugarpill Liquid Lip Color in Nurse ($18.00) As a liquid lipstick, this babe refuses to transfer. Kissing your hand after applying it can leave a little red tint. But you won’t be leaving kisses on napkins with it. The color was powerful on first application, and dried down quickly. It smells like orange cream- So if you don’t like fragrance in makeup, you might prefer another product. I have had this product for at least a year, and it has dried up a little bit. But it hasn’t lost its staying power or beauty. It also has a matte finish, which gives it a sultry look. ❤️ Final Thoughts ❤️ Personally, I prefer the Sugarpill liquid lip. I wear red lipstick a lot, so the staying power and bold color make it a winner to me. But I know there’s a $13.00 difference between each product. So if you’re only wearing red lipstick for a special occasion, you might prefer the Rimmel lipstick. What is your favorite red lip and why?

😌Eye Primer = No More Creasing
When I first started doing makeup, I didn’t see the point of eyeshadow primer. But as I kept doing eyeshadow, I realized my eyelids were oily! After a few hours, my eyeshadow would form a weird crease in my eyelid fold. So I finally gave eye primer a chance, and it changed the game. Right now, I used the Wet n Wild eye primer- which only costs $5.49. 🌺 PRODUCT REVIEW: WHO IS THIS PRIMER BEST FOR ? 🌺 wet n wild - Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer I’ve tried a lot of primers from Too Faced, Nyx, Smashbox and Urban Decay. Some are too thick and crease, while others are more pigmented to cover uneven eye tones. This Wet n Wild one stands out because: It’s so affordable It truly prevents eye creasing. It has a light tinted base (almost translucent), just the right amount to make eyeshadow pop more. This primer has a thin texture, making it comfortable on the eye. It dries in 20 seconds, so you have time to even it out. Honestly, it’s comparable to even some higher-end brands. 💄IN SUMMARY It’s for oily lids that need a brightening base. It’s not for people who want a primer that also acts like a concealer. 🌟 HOW TO APPLY IT 🌟 Do your foundation / base first. This helps if you want to even out your eye skin tone and cover under eye circles before eyeshadow. Put a pea-sized amount on your finger and apply to your eyelid. A thin layer will do for the WHOLE lid area. You can even take a little to the lower eye lid if you put shadow there. Using a finger helps this product melt in. (OPTIONAL) Apply a base eyeshadow color over primer. If you don’t like the whitish undertone to this primer, using a shadow that matches your skin tone will create a nice base for color- While still getting the anti- crease effect. FINALLY, apply your shadow like normal! 🌼 COMPARISON (PRIMER & NO PRIMER) 🌼 The eyeshadow on my primed eye is sliiightly more vibrant than the other one. But more importantly, it didn’t crease. The photo of my creased eye was taken 3 hours after application. I asked my sister if she saw a difference in my eyeshadow. I didn’t tell her which eye had primer, but she pointed at the primed eye and said it was more vibrant. Also notice the line on my eye crease. Indoors, it wasn’t creasing. But as soon as I stepped outside on a humid day, it started to break down. PS: WOW ring lights make a difference to noticing your makeup blend. Bonus pro tip from this post- use a ring light to see where you can blend more 😅 💐 What primers have you tried ? Are there any tricks you use to get the most of it ?

🍉Summer 2020 meets the 60s
Have you ever noticed how HUGE Twiggy’s eyes look in photographs. It’s because of the lashes on her bottom line + the lines they drew over their creases in the 60s. I wanted to do Summer makeup for 2020, even if we’re still in quarantine. But the good thing about this look is how much the eyes stand out~ So it still looks beautiful with a mask. PS: My foundation is covered in my last post on Color Correcting. Check that out if you want to learn more! Not gonna lie, though, this was TOUGH to recreate! Here’s how I used each product~ INGLOT - AMC Eyeliner Gel The centerpiece of this look ~ I used it with a gel angle brush. It has a hard, runny texture, but melts quickly onto skin. It dries to a matte finish, but not so quickly that you can’t blend it (if you’re looking for a smudgy look). Over the course of 6 hours, it does start to smudge for me a little. But I like the creative control it gives me, much easier than liquid eyeliner. I lined my eye and crease, following their natural shapes. To dupe this look, I STRONGLY recommend you draw the line on with the way you naturally look in the mirror. No stretching or angling your eye differently- this can actually make the line end up more wonky instead. essence - Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara One point off for being a little clumpy, and smudging at the end of a hot day. But it’s nothing severe. It makes up for it by being VERY volumizing, and yes, looking just a tinyyyy bit like false lashes. It needs a minute to dry down, though~ heads up. URBAN DECAY - Honey Eyeshadow Primer Potion Ornament This is a really intense, beautiful, glittery product. I used a small amount over the yellow base, and it gave it a pow. It can be a bit TOO intense, so go with a light hand. Sugarpill - Fun Size Palette I’ve already given this palette 5 stars before. This time, I used the yellow (Continue?) as an eye base under the glitter and crease line, and the mint (Twitch) in my inner corner. I dragged the mint up into the edge of my crease line. Both colors are pigmented, though you need to swirl your brush in them well to get the full effect. But they perform much better than most vibrant shadows out there. LUNAR BEAUTY - Moon Spell Color Palette This product deserves a full review on another post. For now, I used the dark brown (Kiki) for my eyebrows. Been using it for months, and its easy to blend. Though I wonder if I should darken my inner brow more. LAQA & CO. - Cheeky Lip in Humble Brag This is a very pigmented product. It isn’t heavy on the lips, feeling like a balm instead. It looks like natural skin (not matte or glossy). It comes off while eating, leaving a tint behind. But still, it’s pretty! What’s your favorite retro makeup look? I’m still definitely practicing !

I’m not great at makeup but I had fun with this!
I did a look with the Sugarpill - Little Twin Stars Collection and I found it so fun, I wanted to share it SOMEWHERE. I’ve been too nervous to post it anywhere, but Cherie seems pretty skill level inclusive so why not! TheSugarpill - Limited Edition Little Twin Stars Liquid Lip Color Duo are a bit drying, I found, but they have glitter in them. I’ve never found a glitter lipstick that didn’t feel a bit chappy. The applicator is also huge and stiff so I had a bit of difficulty applying, myself. They’re far from the worst I’ve used, though! Definitely opaque and pigmented, and I assume pretty long wearing, but I washed it off after just a few hours. But I love seeing Kiki and Lala on them, so I’m excited to have them. The Sugarpill - Limited Edition Little Twin Stars Eyeshadow Palette is so dreamy, it IS a bit sheer, but it’s so blendable and the shimmers are the prettiest I’ve used. The colors are pigmented but I feel like they were left a bit more sheer to keep it soft. I used it as both eyeshadow and blush/highlight and I plan to continue, it’s a perfect face palette for a pastels lover. ESPECIALLY in love with the pink and gold pigments. The white eyeliner is NYX - Epic Wear Eye & Body Liquid Liner and I gotta say, I have had ups and downs with Nyx but an eyeliner is something I didn’t expect them to let me down on. I think it’s okay if you want body liner, but it’s simply too hard to take off to put on the sensitive eye area. It feels gluey, and dries like it has latex in it. Despite that, I had to layer it to get some opacity, and that sticky, stringy texture made for a REALLY difficult time getting any clean lines/wings. For me I’d rate it worse, but if you want long lasting colored liner, it’s definitely not lying about being that, so I have to give credit where it’s due. Overall, I love the palette and consider it a favorite, I would wear the lipsticks again if I felt bold enough for those colors, and that eyeliner is only being kept around for some SFX makeup if I ever need it.

👄 80s meet rococo!!!
I wanted to look like my inspo pic, but I feel like I came out looking like Marie Antoinette instead. Still, 80s and 90s makeup look like they’re trending on Instagram. And I love the deep nudes from the 90s- but I couldn’t resist playing with 80s color! In the 80s, bright fuschia as contour was all the rage. Here’s how I recreated that look. 🥀 TUTORIAL 🥀 Blend fuschia/reddish shadow almost all over your lid. Ideally, use the same color as your blush. Use a lighter hand near your brow bone. You can apply highlight to your inner corner, too. Do regular contour. Use your favorite brown contour, and make it SHARP. Don’t worry about blending it yet. Connect your blush to your shadow with contour. Not as hard as I thought it would be! Pack a crease brush with brown shadow, and draw it out from your outer eyelid toward your temple- like if you were doing a giant cat eye. Apply sharp blush to your cheeks and temples. The temples are really important!! Without them, the shadow and contour will look detached. I recommend another ‘skinny’ blush brush for application. Pat it on first so you don’t overblend it - you want to keep it at a sharp angle. Only blend the edges with a tiny brush. Use a shadow crease blush to blur the outlines~ Without moving anything out of place. Do black eyeliner. Wing or no wing, that’s personal preference. I opted for no wing so the blush could be the focus. Final / optional - Apply colored mascara! I used a blue to make the whole look pop! 🕺 PRODUCTS 🕺 Sugarpill - Feline Fancy Makeup Collection I used every shade in this palette. Shades Kiss and S.W.A.K were my shadow + contour. Wink was my inner corner highlight. Text Me was “wing” to the temple. This palette will not let you down on pigment. Then again, Sugarpill never does. Beware that the red can stain a little- but it is vegan and eye safe! MAYBELLINE - Snapscara Washable Mascara in Deja Blue. I love the curled brush of this thing. And just 2 coats of it gives your eyes a Pow. It doesn’t smudge on my eyes, and lasts a long time! NYX - Slim Lip Pencil A pigmented, comfortable lip liner. I applied it all over my lips. Only con is that it transfers, but I still enjoy it . What’s your favorite makeup decade ?

Sugarpill pretty poison lipstick review 💀🖤
I love the brand sugarpill, everything from the colors, the packaging, and the shade names, it’s all amazing. It’s a little bit pricy but it’s all about unique and pigmented colors, and I think they do a really good job at that. 💗 A few months ago I got my hands on two bullet lipsticks from them, Hydro and dark sided. Hydro is a greenish-teal glittery shade and dark side was a dark purple that I thought was black at first. As soon as it arrived I was amazed at the holographic and pretty packaging of the lipsticks, I love the name “pretty poison” and I liked the colors in that entire pretty poison collection even though I didn’t get to try all of them. The tubes of the lipstick were glittery, pink and black and I was obsessed with them, enough about the amazing packaging, let’s move onto the lipstick, 😅 I wasn’t too impressed with the formula itself, especially in the dark sided lipstick. The formula isn’t very creamy, it’s waxy and smells a lot like wax, it’s not a overwelming smell however. the hydro lipstick seemed to go on much smoother. Obviously it was harder to put on and make look good being a dark lipstick where you can see mistakes easier with, but it was very waxy and that made it hard to do that. It also smeared a lot when I put it on. It was not sheer at all though. They did a good job on making it one swipe to even pigment and that’s it. It’s not transfer proof or completely kiss proof, but it’s not oily so it stays on for a long time, and it felt kind of slightly drying. The glitter in the hydro shade was very gold and pretty. There wasn’t just a tiny bit mixed in with it, it was constantly glittery and the glitter stayed pretty good and wasn’t very grainy. ✨ I love sugarpill, and I would love to try out one of their liquid lipsticks and glosses sometime and maybe even a eyeshadow but I wasn’t too impressed with the formula of the bullet lipsticks. But I loved the packaging and it definitely had some pros. Sugarpill is the brand for unique colors. 💋💄 Sugarpill - Sugarpill Lipstick
