The Importance of Leave-In Conditioners
Leave-in conditioners are such an important part of wash day. They act as a protective barrier to stop atmospheric free radicals such as pollution, environmental damage, sun and heat from penetrating your hair. Leave-ins add moisture, strength, and other benefits to the hair stands, even before using a moisturizing cream. They should be a staple in your wash day regardless of if you use the LOC (Leave-in, Oil, Cream) or LCO (Leave-in, Cream, Oil) method! As for me, I currently have 2 favorite leave-in conditioners that I alternate between; the tgin - Rose Water Leave-In Conditioner , which is $15 and the melanin haircare - Multi-Use Softening Leave In Conditioner , which is $19. I love both of these products for different reasons and I want to explain why. I’ll start with the Melanin Haircare Multi-Use Softening Leave in Conditioner. It claims to soften, smooth, and detangle knots instantly. The leave-in boasts ingredients such as Turnip Root Extract, White Tea Leaf Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Spearmint. When applied, there is a slight tingling, yet refreshing feeling that it gives off. It has a minty fresh smell that lingers, but in a good way. The other is the tgin Rose Water Smoothing Leave In Conditioner. It claims to add shine and body to dull hair, seal in moisture, protect hair from free radicals, stabilize hair pH balance and provide all-day moisture. The leave-in contains ingredients such as rose flower extract, acai fruit extract, ginger root extract, manual seed oil, shea butter, castor oil, and moroccan argan oil. When applied, it has a cooling effect and a flowery scent. I love both of these deep conditioners and highly recommend them. I love the one by Melanin Haircare on days when my hair is super dry and in need of extra oomph of moisture. I love the one by tgin on days when my hair feel heavy and needs a light touch. Overall, both of these are my current leave-in conditioner favorites.

Curly Hair Routine
Hey guys! This is my current hair routine 🤗👩🏽‍🦱 ~ i was my hair about 3 times a week ~ All my life i disliked my hair. It was super frizzy, unmanageable, and I was very insecure about it, up until this year. I stopped being lazy, educated myself on my hair type and was able to find beauty in my natural hair. Now i absolutely love doing my hair! it’s a lot of work & takes a lot of effort but i wouldn’t trade it for anything else. 💋 Now for the breakdown of the products: tgin - Rose Water Leave-In Conditioner Right after my wash i apply this leave in conditioner and rake it through my hair, making sure it covers every strand. I absolutely love the smell of this!!! Carol's Daughter - Hair Milk 4-in-1 ''Combing'' Crème Then i apply this super lightweight creme. It is very hydrating & smells soooo good. I’ve also noticed this product definitely makes all the difference in my hair. Support black owned businesses!! 🖤 DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler After i flip my hair upside down and begin scrunching this product throughout my hair. What i love about this product is that it does exactly what it’s names. Super soft gel that does not leave a nasty crunch feel behind. Great for holding that shape. Lastly i diffuse my hair till it is about 80% dry ogx - Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist I finish it off with this spray, it’s great, efficient and inexpensive! & that’s it! 💞💓💗 Let me know if you guys try any of these out. Would you guys like more hair related posts? If you have an other suggestions or questions please leave a comment! 🤍

Olaplex saved my type 4 hair!
Both photos are Day 3 Wash & Go’s Hey guys! So I just wanted to share a quick tip on how I keep my colour treated hair healthy! I’m sure you’ve probably heard of Olaplex before and the wonders it does for hair... well I’m here to say that I definitely reaped the benefits. Although the price point is pretty steep ( $40 CAD for 3oz) I do feel like is saved my hair from excessive breakage. How I used it: EDEN Body Works - Coconut Shea Cleansing Cowash I co washed my hair to get rid of any product buildup so the Olaplex could penetrate my hair cuticle better. I love this co wash because it cleanses my scalp well without stripping it of its moisture. OLAPLEX - No. 3 Hair Perfector I towel dried my hair (with a cotton shirt) and added the Olaplex in, this product feels a lot like a conditioner; it has amazing slip and was very easy to distribute through my hair. I then proceeded to cover my hair with a plastic cap and slept with it in overnight. The instructions say the longer you keep it in the better. tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Deep Hydrating Hair Mask I washed out the Olaplex in the morning using the same co wash as before then deep conditioned with a moisturizing hair mask. <<I can’t stress this enough when I say Olaplex No. 3 IS NOT A CONDITIONING TREATMENT.>> So it’s important that you still continue with your regular wash day routine after you rinse it out, preferably a moisturizing treatment than a protein treatment. tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Protective Leave In Conditioner tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Curl Food tgin - Miracle Repairx Anti-Breakage Serum I did the LCO Method in the order above to seal in moisture and my curls are not back and better than ever! Thanks for tuning in!

Why, When, and How to do a Curl Reset
The picture on the left was my curly hair in need of a good reset wash day! The picture on the right is one wash day later - back to shiny, bouncy curls. How Did I Know I Needed a Reset? My curls were too dry and they were also lacking moisture. As you can see in the picture on the left, my hair looked dull and overly frizzy. My curls were not clumping together well and instead looked frizzy and ill-defined. Not only did my curls not look their best, but they felt dry to the touch and almost “crackled” when I would rub strands together. My curls had lost their bounce and my curl pattern was much looser than normal. What Does My Reset Washday Look Like? 1. Use a Clarifying Shampoo This clarifying shampoo from Kristen Ess is my go-to. It has a nozzle tip for easy application at the roots, smells nice, and has a great lather. To use it I thoroughly wet my hair in the shower and then apply a liberal amount of shampoo, rinse and repeat if my curls and scalp still feel like there is product buildup. KRISTIN ESS - Scalp Purifying Micellar Shampoo 2. Use a Protein Mask The tgin Miracle RepaiRx Curl Protein Reconstructor further clarifies the scalp and hair, and fortifies your curls by restoring protein. I knew I needed a protein mask for my curls because they felt very limp and my curl pattern wasn’t as bouncy or defined as usual. My curls were stretched out and not as big (circumference-wise) as they typically get. I apply the mask and leave it on my wet hair for about 3-5 minutes, then rinse out completely. tgin - Miracle RepaiRx Curl Protein Reconstructor 3. Deep Condition Once the protein mask is washed out, I go in with the Mizani Moisture Fusion Intense Moisture Mask. I apply it to my wet curls from roots to ends, gently brushing through (I use a Tangle Teezer) to evenly distribute the product. I let the mask sit on my wet hair for 5-10 minutes in the shower, then rinse out completely and style as usual. TANGLE TEEZER - The Ultimate Detangler MIZANI - Moisture Fusion Intense Moisturizing Mask Have you ever done a reset wash day? Let me know if I’ve left your favorite products off the list! #CherieCreator

🙌🏿The MUST-HAVE black owned hair brand for your naturalistas!
🖤Thank God Its Natural! TGIN is the BEST black-owned beauty brand I've ever tried. I love their products a lot! With super nourishing and organic ingredients like honey, I feel their products are ideal for natural hair girlies. All of their products are free of parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, lanolin, and artificial color. Here're some of my favorite TGIN products that save my natural 4c hair! tgin - Moisturizing Shampoo + Conditioner Duo My 4c hair is of low porosity and frizzy. This duo helps me to smooth my curly hair and leave me with long time moisture retention! Both of them are also very creamy and lightweight, suitable for even oily hair types. Even though their products are not cheap, they are worthy of investing in! Moreover, the shrinkage is still real, but I find it's less with these products. Honey Miracle Deep Conditioner tgin - Honey Miracle Hair Mask Deep Conditioner This is a new come-out hair mask. The texture is kind of thick, but it does well with my dry and damaged hair. It contains luxury raw honey to soften hair as well as jojoba and olive oils for more hydration. After using half of it, I can see a noticeable difference in my 4c hair, which tends to be more shiny and healthy. Another bonus is about its light scent, which doesn't seem like some artificial ingredients but only the yummy honey.😋 How do you naturalistas like brand TGIN? What's your favorite black-owned beauty brand? Leave your words below xoxo!

Hydrating my natural 4c hair
All this extra time in quarantine is compelling me to spend more time caring for myself and adding steps to my skin and hair routines I wouldn’t otherwise have or make time for. For me and my natural hair that means reintroducing pre-poos! Pre-pooing is so great for adding that extra moisture and hydration into your hair before the wash day process. Also super helpful in aiding with detangling and minimizing breakage. My hair tends to dry out quickly, especially the ends when my hair is stretched so any added hydration makes a huge difference. I just bought THE Mane CHOICE - Heavenly Halo Herbal Hair Tonic & Soy Milk Deep Hydration Pre-Poo as part of a run on black owned beauty brands I did last week. I have tried their products before and truly enjoyed them but hadn’t in a while so I was happy to revisit! This pre-poo: 💆🏾‍♀️ smells freaking AMAZING 💆🏾‍♀️ melts tangles to help minimize breakage and preserve moisture 💆🏾‍♀️ has umutanga oil, palmarosa oil, yashtimadhu root, yucca root and burdock root oil (never heard of half these things) a blend that supports growth, soothes dry scalp and strengthens hair I can’t get over the smell. This is like the best smelling hair product I’ve ever used! Just used it for the first time and it literally MELTED my super tangled and dry hair. Made it so so easy to finger detangle. I am going to leave it in for about 20 mins then follow up with my TPH BY TARAJI - Hustle & Co Cowash and TPH BY TARAJI - Make It Rain Hydrating Conditioner . Today the leave in conditioner I’ll use is the OUAI - OUAI Leave-In Conditioner which also has an amazing smell and then coconut oil and seal it all with tgin - Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer

All You Need For Lazy Day Routines! 🥱🥱🥱
All You Need For Lazy Day Routines! 🥱🥱🥱
During the week, every day is busy for me. I get up, brush my teeth, make food, start my morning skincare routine, do my hair then out the door I go. Once I come back home, I am super exhausted from driving and working so although I’d love to do a light form a microdermabrasion or even try out my new derma roller, I know that it’s just not happening so I also make time for the essentials. The essentials are always, cleanse, tone, moisturize and put on a sleep mask. Therefore if I ever miss a step it’s because A. I ran out and the product and B. my body is craving a shower and sleep. Needless to say, don’t do either.  To start off I always cleanse my face with some type of charcoal infused or either black soap formulation of products. Lately I have found that TGIN has a 2 in one cleanser of both black soap and charcoal that I absolutely love.  The “African Black Soap + Shea Butter and Charcoal” soap is promised to detoxify, rejuvenate and clarify the skin which is absolutely needed after a long day of being around many people and every day environmental pollutants. The ingredients of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, activated charcoal and she butter all help to draw out dirt from the pores and can put a halt to breakouts.  My next step is to tone my skin. Yes, cleansing does remove a portion of the dirt and the nastiness on our skin but toning helpt so remove more than what you see or feel. My favorite toner at the moment is by Bare Lush and Co. “Ginseng Astringent”s. Leaving my skin soft and smooth, this oil-free, glycolic, astringent toner and freshener doesn’t tingle the skin; instead it actually calms the skin. It has the most refreshing smell which is another reason why I love it so much. The third and last step that I do is put on a sleep mask. There are a range of masks that you can use to sleep in however for someone with combination skin and concerned about fine lines turning into wrinkles, my go is the Crepe Erase Crépe Erase - Overnight Facial Plumping Treatment.  This brand of products are targeted to older consumers however as humans we are all getting older so it’s always best to start reversing time, ahead of time. The brand promises that the “TruFirm Complex helps to visibly smooth and firm fine lines and wrinkles, restoring elasticity…” I can honestly attest to this because my skin is super soft in the morning when I wake up and my skin looks more full and plump.  Even on the laziest or the most tired days of the week, these 3 steps will keep you looking and feeling the opposite of how you feel. Give it a try the next time you're thinking of doing the just wash and go to sleep.

I have dry, thirsty, Sahara desert type 4b to 4c hair. I picked up this conditioner on sale on a whim. I’ve used it as a rinse out conditioner and as a deep conditioner. It melts away tangles and has a nice amount of slip too. My hair feels conditioned and hydrated without being weighed down! It’s good to your strands even when you are not. It contains no parabens, sulfates, lanolin or artificial colors!
