The Importance of Leave-In Conditioners
Leave-in conditioners are such an important part of wash day. They act as a protective barrier to stop atmospheric free radicals such as pollution, environmental damage, sun and heat from penetrating your hair. Leave-ins add moisture, strength, and other benefits to the hair stands, even before using a moisturizing cream. They should be a staple in your wash day regardless of if you use the LOC (Leave-in, Oil, Cream) or LCO (Leave-in, Cream, Oil) method!
As for me, I currently have 2 favorite leave-in conditioners that I alternate between; the tgin - Rose Water Leave-In Conditioner , which is $15 and the melanin haircare - Multi-Use Softening Leave In Conditioner , which is $19. I love both of these products for different reasons and I want to explain why.
I’ll start with the Melanin Haircare Multi-Use Softening Leave in Conditioner. It claims to soften, smooth, and detangle knots instantly. The leave-in boasts ingredients such as Turnip Root Extract, White Tea Leaf Extract, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Argan Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Spearmint. When applied, there is a slight tingling, yet refreshing feeling that it gives off. It has a minty fresh smell that lingers, but in a good way.
The other is the tgin Rose Water Smoothing Leave In Conditioner. It claims to add shine and body to dull hair, seal in moisture, protect hair from free radicals, stabilize hair pH balance and provide all-day moisture. The leave-in contains ingredients such as rose flower extract, acai fruit extract, ginger root extract, manual seed oil, shea butter, castor oil, and moroccan argan oil. When applied, it has a cooling effect and a flowery scent.
I love both of these deep conditioners and highly recommend them. I love the one by Melanin Haircare on days when my hair is super dry and in need of extra oomph of moisture. I love the one by tgin on days when my hair feel heavy and needs a light touch. Overall, both of these are my current leave-in conditioner favorites.

Curly Hair Routine
Hey guys! This is my current hair routine 🤗👩🏽🦱
~ i was my hair about 3 times a week ~
All my life i disliked my hair. It was super frizzy, unmanageable, and I was very insecure about it, up until this year. I stopped being lazy, educated myself on my hair type and was able to find beauty in my natural hair. Now i absolutely love doing my hair! it’s a lot of work & takes a lot of effort but i wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
💋 Now for the breakdown of the products: tgin - Rose Water Leave-In Conditioner Right after my wash i apply this leave in conditioner and rake it through my hair, making sure it covers every strand. I absolutely love the smell of this!!!
Carol's Daughter - Hair Milk 4-in-1 ''Combing'' Crème Then i apply this super lightweight creme. It is very hydrating & smells soooo good. I’ve also noticed this product definitely makes all the difference in my hair. Support black owned businesses!! 🖤
DevaCurl - Light Defining Gel Soft Hold No-Crunch Styler After i flip my hair upside down and begin scrunching this product throughout my hair. What i love about this product is that it does exactly what it’s names. Super soft gel that does not leave a nasty crunch feel behind. Great for holding that shape.
Lastly i diffuse my hair till it is about 80% dry
ogx - Nourishing Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist I finish it off with this spray, it’s great, efficient and inexpensive!
& that’s it! 💞💓💗 Let me know if you guys try any of these out. Would you guys like more hair related posts? If you have an other suggestions or questions please leave a comment! 🤍

All You Need For Lazy Day Routines! 🥱🥱🥱
During the week, every day is busy for me. I get up, brush my teeth, make food, start my morning skincare routine, do my hair then out the door I go. Once I come back home, I am super exhausted from driving and working so although I’d love to do a light form a microdermabrasion or even try out my new derma roller, I know that it’s just not happening so I also make time for the essentials. The essentials are always, cleanse, tone, moisturize and put on a sleep mask. Therefore if I ever miss a step it’s because A. I ran out and the product and B. my body is craving a shower and sleep. Needless to say, don’t do either.
To start off I always cleanse my face with some type of charcoal infused or either black soap formulation of products. Lately I have found that TGIN has a 2 in one cleanser of both black soap and charcoal that I absolutely love.
The “African Black Soap + Shea Butter and Charcoal” soap is promised to detoxify, rejuvenate and clarify the skin which is absolutely needed after a long day of being around many people and every day environmental pollutants. The ingredients of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, activated charcoal and she butter all help to draw out dirt from the pores and can put a halt to breakouts.
My next step is to tone my skin. Yes, cleansing does remove a portion of the dirt and the nastiness on our skin but toning helpt so remove more than what you see or feel. My favorite toner at the moment is by Bare Lush and Co. “Ginseng Astringent”s. Leaving my skin soft and smooth, this oil-free, glycolic, astringent toner and freshener doesn’t tingle the skin; instead it actually calms the skin. It has the most refreshing smell which is another reason why I love it so much.
The third and last step that I do is put on a sleep mask. There are a range of masks that you can use to sleep in however for someone with combination skin and concerned about fine lines turning into wrinkles, my go is the Crepe Erase Crépe Erase - Overnight Facial Plumping Treatment.
This brand of products are targeted to older consumers however as humans we are all getting older so it’s always best to start reversing time, ahead of time. The brand promises that the “TruFirm Complex helps to visibly smooth and firm fine lines and wrinkles, restoring elasticity…” I can honestly attest to this because my skin is super soft in the morning when I wake up and my skin looks more full and plump.
Even on the laziest or the most tired days of the week, these 3 steps will keep you looking and feeling the opposite of how you feel. Give it a try the next time you're thinking of doing the just wash and go to sleep.

Dry and damaged hair- Be Gone!
I have dry, thirsty, Sahara desert type 4b to 4c hair. I picked up this conditioner on sale on a whim.
I’ve used it as a rinse out conditioner and as a deep conditioner. It melts away tangles and has a nice amount of slip too. My hair feels conditioned and hydrated without being weighed down!
It’s good to your strands even when you are not.
It contains no parabens, sulfates, lanolin or artificial colors!
