The Best Disposable Shaving Razor I’ve Ever Used😉😉
Shaving with razors is probably the most common way to get rid of body hair by most people, this is because it’s easy to do, painless and cheap as well. Nowadays, there are different types of shaving razors which vary in shape like their handles, the number of blades and the material they are made of. Likewise, there are those that are disposable and those that are recommended to be used more than once, as they deteriorate less quickly, but for the same reason, they become more expensive. It’s that time of the year again, and Summer is around the corner! We can finally wear all of our Summer outfits and enjoy the sunny weather.  Today I’ll tell you a bit about my hair removal routine with razors so you can have this as an option if you decide to opt for this. BIC - Soleil Balance Women's 5-Blade Disposable Razor: BIC Soleil - Soleil Balance Razors I’ve tried many different brands and types of razors ion my life, but so far, this is my favorite hands down! I found out about it one time while I was visiting Ulta, I wanted to buy some razors and I thought they looked interesting and different to the typical razors I use, so I decided to try it. The grip of the razor is very comfortable and soft thanks to the rubber so you don’t have to worry about your hand getting tired. It has a total of 5 different blades to achieve that perfect cut, it’s ideal for people like me with very thick hair. I have had issues with other low-quality disposable razors in the past because they leave my skin irritated but this one doesn’t because those big things around the blades are nothing more than moisture bars infused with Shea butter, and you know how soft shea butter leaves your skin. So, it’s pretty much moisturizing it before and after every shave, it’s great for my sensitive skin, it leaves it super smooth! You can find a package of 2 on Ulta or Amazon for less than $6 USD, an awesome deal!   Bath & Body Works - Active Skincare ON-The-GO Shave + Shower 2-in-1 Oil Body Cleanser: I like to do this extra step when I do it in the shower, during those long self-care days that usually take longer. I initially bought this 2 in 1 Oil during a sale at Bath & Body Works, it was the first time I tried a product like this and I was fascinated! It works as a body wash and shaving oil at the same time. You simply put it on the area you are going to shave and spread it around creating a foamy texture then you are all ready to proceed with the shaving. The fragrance is lovely and will leave your skin even smoother and healthy looking. Always when I shave, I get a bit itchy on my arms and legs afterwards but not once after using this oil. You can find the travel size version on Amazon for only $5 USD, it’s perfect for traveling!

A Bunch Of Shaving Myths: De Bunked
Last week I recived a dm from someone asking if shaving makes hair darker. This started me on a deep rabbit hole of all the crazy shaving myths. Most of them were even things I thought were facts! So today I’m debunking 4 shaving myths, and ending this post with an updated shaving guide. One of my very first posts on Cherie was a shaving guide, but since then, I’ve learned so, so much. The first shaving myth is that shaving makes hair grow back darker, faster, and thicker. This is one of the most well known, and false, myths. In fact my own Mother said it the other day, and I had to correct her. By shaving, you give your hair a blunter tip, making it appear darker and thicker. New hair also hasn’t been exposed to natural elements such as sun exposure or soap, which can lighten hair. The second myth is that using a new, sharp razor blade causes more nicks and cuts than a dull blade. This myth is actually flipped from the truth. In reality, a dull blade is worse because it can pull at your body hair, and can feel more rough on your skin. This leads to post-shave irritation. On the other hand, a sharp blade moves much more smoothly, and one requires 1-2 passes to get a clean shave, which reduces chances on inflammation. The next myth is that shaving cream isn’t necessary. Shaving creams actually preserve moisture, and help protect skin from irritation. Shaving with water or soap dries out your skin, and increases your chances of inflammation, and irritation. And finally the last myth is that shaving leaves skin feeling dry and flaky. Well first off, sharp blades can actually shed of dead skin, leading to your skin being less flaky and dry. It is however important to put on a moisturizer after shaving to keep your skin as hydrated as possible. Down below is my shaving guide, but please cheer for this post to ensure everyone gets the best shave possible, and follow me for more beauty content. If you have a beauty question, dm me @_sips_tea_ on Instagram, or comment down below. My updated shaving guide: 1. Cleanse your skin with a simple face cleanser. 2. Use a body scrub (not for your face or other sensitive areas!) to remove dead skin for a cleaner, closer shave. 3. Apply a shaving cream or gel. 4. Shave in the direction of hair growth. 5. Avoid shaving quickly and pressing the razor too hard into your skin to avoid cuts. 6. Rinse your skin after shaving, and IMMEDIATELY apply a moisturizer and SPF, to protect the now sensitive skin.

How I Keep My Legs Silky Smooth
I’m very OCD about shaving my legs. I shave every other day. From the tops of my feet all the way up to the top of my thighs. So, I’m incredibly picky about a razor, shave cream, and body wash. I’ve found that women’s razors just don’t last as long- especially if you have coarse hair like I do. (Hispanic/Osage Indian girl here) It seems like I use a 5-blade Women’s razor once and it’s dull. About a year ago I borrowed my husband’s razor because mine was super dull. I never gave it back! 😂 I’ve been using Bic 5-blade men’s razors ever since. I think they’re $4.88-$5.00 for a pack of 4 at Walmart. And they last! The one pictured was opened 5 weeks ago and it’s still sharp and giving me a great shave. First, I wash my legs with Dove body wash. Then, I spread the equate - equate Shave Gel with Argan Oil - Coconut from the tops of my feet to the top of my legs- right under my booty. I shave upwards, rinse, reapply shave gel on just my thighs (above the knee to below my booty) and shave downward - the opposite direction I first did. Rinse. Finally, I use NIVEA - In-Shower Nourishing Lotion apply in a circular motion. In the winter when my skin is particularly dry, this body wash/lotion is amazing and my skin soaks it right in. I then rinse the excess in-shower lotion and I pat my legs dry. After shaving I apply NIVEA - Shea Daily Moisture Body Lotion . I exfoliate once a week. My legs are always silky smooth and soft and shiny! ❤️

KISS YOUR HAIR GOODBYE!
KISS YOUR HAIR GOODBYE!
It is finally summer and what a year it has been! Now is the time for short shorts and mini-skirts, and smooth, flawless skin! If you are here as a beginner, PERFECT! I have curated for you the best products you need to get started on hair removal! For a beginner, shaving is the best way to get rid of body hair and if done right, it can be harmless and easy. I like this method because it doesn’t require skills like threading does, or a machine for waxing. For my body hair, I always shave after a short soak in hot water. This opens up my pores and reduces the risk of the horrid in-grown hairs that can be quite painful. I follow this with exfoliation for a close shave. For exfoliation, I personally use a homemade exfoliator of sugar, coffee, and honey. I love this exfoliant as they are not necessarily gentle on the skin for my hands and legs which I prefer, and it smells so good!! It is also very easy to make, you just need to mix all the ingredients together and you can make it as course or smooth as you like! I then use my Equate shave gel which is coconut scented and absolutely delightful. It foams up once applied to the skin, and a few dollops should have u covered (pun intended!). This product lasts very long which is one more thing that I love about it! I recommend this product for beginners because it costs only $2 so you have the option to use it as a trial and see if it works for you. To shave, I use the BIC Soleil four-blade (just $6 for a pack of 3!) razor twice; once along the direction in which my hair grows, then a second time against the grain. Personally, I feel the combination of this four-blade razor and gel does a wonderful job and my skin is silky smooth after every shave! Once I finish my shave, I love to moisturize while my pores are still open from the warm bath. I love the Vaseline Cocoa Radiant body moisturizer for this because it really locks in all the moisture necessary after a shave. It is such an amazing product because it is light and non-greasy which helps soothe the freshly shaven skin, and I love to stock up on this product and buy the 32 FL OZ which is only $9! This routine will give you flawless skin, perfect for the summer season! I love these products and I honestly feel you do not need expensive products, because these ones get the job done just as well!
