*HEATLESS CURLS*
Hi everyone! So I guess you can say that I jumped on the bandwagon from the famous “Tic Tock” world and decided to wrap my hair in SOCKS! To my surprise it came out OK. I say ok bc it was very frizzy but I think that’s bc I didn’t use any hair cream. I also did this while my hair was wet. All in all I think it went good. The twisting my hair around the socks was awkward at first bc I had to roll and twist away from my scalp. Once I got the hang of it, it took all bit 5 minutes to do. Sleeping with sock knots on my head was not very comfortable but I was very tired so I slept well regardless. I divided my hair into 7 sections to make this so called sock masterpiece. The back was the hardest part. When I took the socks out my hair was very fluffy and frizzy. I had to use ALOT of mouse and hairspray to calm it down like ten levels. I noticed as the day went on and the curls relaxed it looked a whole lot BETTER. I have wavy/curly hair to begin with so the sucks added lots of texture and volume!! This Heatless curl trend gets a 6 out of 10 in my book. I feel that anyone with any hair type can do this. I have it a 6 because I was not thrilled about how it all came out but I didn’t hate it at the same time......... Go try it and tell me what you think!!!!!! I finally gave in and tried the Curl Talk line
Welcome to my very first Cherie review!! I've been following the Curly Girl Method (with some modifications here and there) for two years or so now. I've been eyeing the Curl Talk line since it came out, and for some reason I just never made the plunge... until now! These are my first impressions. For reference, I have 2c, fine, medium porosity hair. The second pic is my hair on day one, and the third pic is after I refreshed on day two. Curl Talk Scalp Cleansing Oil: This right here is the star of the show. I have a dry scalp that gets flakes fairly easily, and this is probably the best shampoo I've ever used. My scalp felt so happy after using this. It's strong enough to get rid of buildup and flakes, yet hydrating enough for my dry scalp. If you can only try one product from this line, make it this one. Curl Talk 3-in-1 Conditioner: I enjoyed this conditioner. I used it as a rinse out conditioner. it detangled fairly well and has some nice protein ingredients if your hair likes protein. I say give it a try! Curl Talk Leave-In Conditioner: I like this leave-in because it's a lightweight spray. It's hard to find a spray leave-in that actually sprays like a mist and actually hydrates curly hair. It also works as a heat protectant for diffusing which is a nice added bonus. Curl Talk Curl Cream: So, I'm not typically a cream gal because they can weigh down my hair. I'm typically a mousse gal cause I love volume. I've tried the Curl Talk mousse before, but I find it to be pretty sticky. This curl cream is pretty dang great. It's hydrating enough to give me some nice definition, yet lightweight enough to give me some volume. It's kind of like finding a unicorn. I'm impressed so far. Let me know what you think of the Curl Talk line!

Battle of the Budget 10-in-1s!
I’m all about low maintenance hair and saving money, so of course I have to review these 2 drugstore hair primers. I’ll be breaking down the winner by category and tallying the winner! Round 1: price- both are a standard 6 oz, but NYM is $7 while Eva is $12. Both are affordable but NYM wins this one. Round 2: texture- Eva is definitely the heavier of the 2 options, you can tell by the fineness of the mist. This is likely due to it’s high amount of oils in the ingredient lists, which is very good for moisture. Personally tho, since my hair is straight and fine, this tends to weight down my hair. Contrastingly, the NYM first ingredient is water which is probably why it’s lighter and cheaper. This round is a tie. Round 3: scent- Both of these are scented with fragrance showing up in the middle of the ingredients list. The Eva product is a stronger, fruity scent that is close to Viva la Juicy perfume, a personal classic of middle school. The NYM is also sweet, but closer to candy than fruit. It’s also lighter than Eva. This round is subjective for sure, but I give it to Eva since I prefer a strong scent if something is scented. Round 4: usage- by this I mean does it really do 10 things? Eva doesn’t list the 10 things on the bottle, but NYM claims to add body, detangle, add shine, protect, moisturize, control frizz, repair dry hair, heat protection, mend split ends, and create silkiness. I think a few of those are repeats, however the one it doesn’t follow through on is repairing dry hair. When I used NYM, I had to add an additional leave-in conditioner to keep my ends from looking dry. Eva doesn’t add body for me since it can make my hair look oily. Again, a tie! Round 5: flexibility- I find that I’m able to use NYM in more situations than Eva. With Eva, I only use as a heat protector since other usage tends to make my hair look wet or oily. I can use NYM as a detangler before I air dry, to calm down bed head, and to heat protect. This round goes to NYM! Results: I prefer NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - All Eyes On Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector though honestly these products are pretty similar. I think the eva·nyc - Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer would work well for someone with thicker or curly hair because mine couldn’t stand up to the oils. Neither are perfect holy grails, but good for the price.

Three must-haves from Target
Cherie post 1: Three favorites from Target: Not your Mothers, All eyes on me, 10 in 1 hair perfector. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - All Eyes On Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector OMG. I love this stuff! If you have dry, damaged, and easily tangled hair like me this is going to be your new haircare BFF. I have naturally thick, coarse long hair that also gets super oily after 2 days on no wash. I apply this into the middle and end strands to wet hair and boom! It tame smy frizz, detangles, softens without oily sticky feeling, smells AMAZING and is also a heat protectant! I also use it to re moisturize my hair on my non-wash days. Megababe thigh rescue megababe - Thigh Rescue This is an anti-friction stick for your thighs. When I say this is the best product invented, i'm not over-exaggerating! If you get thigh chafe in the summer, the moment you try this you’re gonna be like “why on earth did I wait this long to try this?! The years of my thick-thigh life would've been so much better if this was in my life!” It's definitely a summer must-have. I like to keep it in my purse, for easy re-application :) Nature Republic Aloe Vera Foam CleanserNATURE REPUBLIC - Foam Smoothing Facial Cleanser I always come back to this cleanser, it’s my favorite drugstore cleanser. It foams and applies really nicely, it is super clarifying but non-drying! It has a budget friendly price tag too, $7.99 at Target! I have sensitive skin and it doesn’t irritate or make my skin red :)

Let’s discuss dry shampoo! 😘
Gotta love dry shampoo!!! Especially my girls with extensions because you shouldn’t wash your hair as often because you could damage them. Even if you want to start washing your hair less because it is healthier for it and saves you time, try dry shampoo!!! I used to think it didn’t work for me, but I gave it a little time for my hair to get used to it (some embarrassing days of greasy hair... but I was staying at home from the quarantine stuff so it wasn’t too embarrassing lol). Now my hair can handle going without washing for a bit. I have tried all these dry shampoos.... and my favorite has to be the Redken, REDKEN - Deep Clean Dry Shampoo I splurged on some other brands... the amika: - Perk Up Talc-Free Dry Shampoo and the Klorane dry shampoo KLORANE - Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk For All Hair Types , and honestly, they weren’t worth the extra money. I thought they would be better than the cheap ones I have been buying but I wasn’t too impressed. The Zero Fuss texturizing dry shampoo was just gross. Didn’t smell good. Left a weird tint in my hair. And it just didn’t even soak up the oil. I would give that one 0 stars if I could! ☹️ I do really like the NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo I will continue to purchase these because they smell so good and they also are a very decent price!! And I think they honestly work better than the expensive brands. Anyways, back to the Redken dry shampoo. I seriously love it!!! It smells soooooo amazing, so fresh and clean! I seriously feel rich when I wear it haha!! It smells like I just had an expensive day at the salon like no kidding. It is just very pricey and didn’t last me very long, especially because my hair gets so greasy and oily. I recommend using just the Not Your Mother’s brand as your base and spray over the top with the Redken to get that extra scent that is so great 😁I just use it minimally because it cost me like $24! Ugh. The Not Your Mother’s only cost me $7, and it honestly lasts me such a long time and I use it daily and use a ton of it. That is all on my advice on dry shampoos! Save your money and just buy Not Your Mother’s. If you’re feeling fancy, spray a little of the Redken kind but just a bit if you are on a tight budget like me. Oh! I almost forgot about COLAB - Original Dry Shampoo I do really love this one!!!! I gave it 5 stars because it doesn’t leave any white residue like most of the dry shampoos. The scent is pretty fresh and great, too! And the cost is great! Under $6.

from stick straight | to beach waves 〰️ pt. 1
I’m still getting the hang of my new hair length, but one of my favorite styles already are these beachy waves! I use a ceramic styler from remington that seems to be discontinued, but there are a lot of similar options out there! my barrel is 1 and 1/2 inches, and I found it at target for really cheap. I get the best results on dirty hair, because otherwise my hair is too poofy for my liking. as such, I love the NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo because it is both a dry shampoo and a texturizing spray. it smells great and is under $5 for a huge bottle. that being said, I’m not crazy about the grit or lack of longevity. still, it does the job fairly well. I’ll be uploading the video showing the actual curling process in pt. 2! p.s. thank-you for all the recent follows! I love being on this app and seeing all you here being so kind and supportive puts a smile on my face! ♡ #cheriepartner

Great Affordable Hair Mask
This mask does wonder for my hair!!! There’s so many great qualities in this mask and it’s very affordable in my opinion! Here’s a list of the great qualities: ✨💚-scent is really nice ✨💚-good price ✨💚-very moisturizing ✨💚- almost like paste consistency, especially when you’re showering and sometimes the mask just falls out of you hand and onto the floor, it’s pretty firm ✨💚-packaging is cute :) My routine is usually shampooing first, then putting the mask for 5-7 minutes and the conditioner, love how my hair smells afterwards! I definitely would recommend to anyone who wants a nice scent and moisture to their hair :)

Curly hair fav
I have 2C/3A curls and my hair is very sensitive to protein. I only use hair products that are sulfate, silicone, and alcohol free (or have alcohol on the lower half on the ingriedents). I used to only deep condition or use a hair mask every other week but I only wash my hair once I week so I started using hair masks in place of conditioner and I’ve def seen a big difference in how soft my hair is! Anyway I’m rambling so NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Matcha Green Tea & Wild Apple Blossom Nutrient Rich Butter Masque is one of the three hair masks I currently have in my shower rotation. It’s one of my go to’s as far as a nourishing hair mask. It’s not too thick, I’m able to finger detangle pretty easily but make sure you rinse it out well because it can leave a waxy finish if you don’t. Ulta usually has a sale on the not your mother brand so I’m always able to stock up ☺️

Top Five Leave-In Hair Products!
Here are my top 5 favorite leave in hair products! 1. Everyone knows a heat protetant is a MUST for those that use hot tooks regularly. My go-to is the SGX NYC Blaze Hear Protection Lotion & Primer. It really gets the job done but also leaves your hair soft & shiney. #SGX NYC - Blaze Heat Protection Hair lotion & Primer[products]#[FourStars] 2. The next product I really love is the Vitiv Daily Hair Vitamin. I got this in a monthly beauty box & fell in love. It really does a lot of your hair & keeps it full & soft. #VITIV - Daily Hair Vitamin[products]#[FourStars] 3. Another hot tool product I use is the Not Your Mothers In A Beat Blow Dry Accelerator. It literally cuts blowdrying time IN HALF! Love it when I’m in a rush! #Not Your Mothers - In A Beat Hair Dry Accelerator[products]#[FourStars] 4. The last two products are not actually leave-ins but I had to include them. Coconut oil is such an amazing oil. Not only can it be used in cooking but its a staple in the beauty community as well. Now you can leave it in ykur hair but I tend to just use it as a deep conditioner. I lay it on thick all over my hair from the roots to ends for 30 minutes & then wash it out in the shower! It leaves my hair soooooo soft & shiny! Definitely a must have. Garden of Life - Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil 5. This last product is the one I will always recommend when people ask for hair products that WORK. Raw Sugar Hair Masque is it. I usually put in all ofer my hair (again from roots to ends) after shampooing & conditioning while I’m still in the shower, I then go ahead & shave, wash my body, use my dove body polish & when I’m done with everything else, I rinse it out. This product was such a game changer for me, you can literally see a difference after one use! RAW SUGAR - Healing Power Hair Masque BONUS PRODUCT! (Cause you know I had to mention it) The Ordinary Moroccan Argan Oil! I love, love, LOVE this stuff. I put a few drops in my hand and warm it between my palms before working it through damp hair after my shower. I don’t put it on my roots because it is an oil & I tend to find oils usually make my hair look greasy if I put them on my roots but it does work for some people! This oil however leaves your hair sooo beautiful. It adds moisture, softens & gives it such a nice shine. I cannot stress how great this stuff is enough, this is definitely a holy grail product. The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil That’s all for today! Any questions or concerns, please feel free to comment! Have a Happy Thanksgiving for those that celebrate! 🦃 & everyone stay safe & have a wonderful day! 💗

Holy Grail Hair Tool
I can’t recommend this enough! Love having fresh salon dried voluminous hair but could never get the trick down of using a regular blow dryer & a round brush? Well this hair dryer brush is it ladies!!! It makes it so easy & gives your hair that volume & bounce you get at the salon, right at home! Love this tool!!! REVLON - Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Before using I always use NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Beat the Heat Thermal Styling Spray , #SGX NYC - Blaze Leave-In Heat Protection Lotion & Primer[products]#[FiveStars] , & #VITIV - Daily Hair Vitamin[products]#[FourStars] on my hair & then use the blow dryer brush & I’m done! It’s literally an all in one tool. Try it out, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Drugstore Styling Faves - No Bank Breaking Here!
I’ve featured some drugstore hair products on Cherie, but not many for hair styling. The drugstore has awesome products at good price points. I actually prefer buying from the drugstore. By the way, when I say “drugstore”, I’m referring to drugstores such as CVS and Walgreens, but also affordable, widely available retailers like Walmart, Target, and Ulta. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo This giant bottle has lasted me a few years. I’m not an avid dry shampoo user, to be honest. Even for a regular user, though, this is a good bang for your bucks. This one’s scent is “warm sugar”, which reminds me of vanilla, but there are other varieties available. Easy to work through my dark hair. $5-7 sun bum - Revitalizing 3 in 1 Leave-In Hair Treatment Smells like a warm piña colada! This isn’t my favorite drugstore leave-in (the Kristin Ess leave-in which I need to repurchase), but this one is nice. It’s a bit small at 4oz for about $15, but still not a bad price. It’s a great summer option because it’s UV protecting and never leaves my hair feeling greasy or weighed down. Available at Ulta, Target, and some drugstores. sun bum - Heat Protector It’s hard to find a heat protectant for both wet and dry hair. This checks both boxes for me. It smells like the leave-in. I most often use this before curling or flat ironing my hair. My hair is left silky, soft, and shiny. Sun Bum is often on sale BOGO 40-50% off at Ulta, so I recommend shopping during a sale. $15 HASK - Keratin Flash Blow-Dry Spray I don’t blow dry my hair often, but when I do, I use this to cut down on drying time. I’ve got super thick hair, so it can otherwise take 40+ min. I would say this cuts my dry time by about 40%, which is awesome! I also use it if I’m going to use my diffuser, which takes about 10 min to get my wavy/curly hair 85% dry (don’t dry 100% w/ a diffuser!). Has a pleasant smell - sort of...fruity. $6-8 GARNIER - Frizz Guard Anti-Frizz Dry Spray I used this more when I lived in NY because it was so humid there. I do occasionally use this now. Definitely works for taming frizz and adding shine in humid places. Super affordable - $10ish. (Note that Gariner is not cruelty-free) MARC ANTHONY TRUE PROFESSIONAL - 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil & Shea Butter Curl Cream Smells like coconut. Great for dry hair that needs moisture. Definines my waves/curls and doesn’t weigh my hair down. This is a mini that came in an Ipsy, but a full size is about $7 at many drugstores. I’ve tried other MA products and they’re really good! #CheriePartner

Get That Grease Out!
Get That Grease Out!
I’ve been in the process of training my hair to produce less oil. I’ve gone from washing my hair every day to washing it every two days or so. And this has helped so much with stretching my wishes longer! I spray it directly on my roots and let it sit for 5-10 mins. Then I run it through my hair and finally brush it out. It doesn’t completely freshen my hair and make it seem like I just washed it which is what I think most people think dry shampoo will do. It dries up the grease and oil and gets rid of any excess shine. It doesn’t make my hair look brand new but it helps make it look less greasy. Overall, it’s a great product to have handy. I will definitely be purchasing in the new year. 7/10 NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Tapioca Dry Shampoo

I’m a big fan of the NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream. I usually apply it to damp hair and it helps tame my frizz and ensures that my hair dries smooth. I use a quarter sized amount and concentrate it below my ears. If you use too much, your hair can get a little crunchy and stuff. It feels like a mix between a hair gel and a hair cream. I think it is decently priced at around $6/4 fl. oz. and the bottle has lasted me to long because you only need a small amount. I have hair type 2B/C and this has really helped tame my frizz.

What it is: It’s a dry shampoo that absorbs excess oil and cleanses hair without the use of water. Who it is for: All hair types. What does it feel like: Sprays on like a powder mist. Has a fresh scent. My thoughts: Got this travel size from target to try. It’s ok. I don’t absolutely love it. It sprays on good on my hair, doesnt really leave that much of a white cast. I give it a 3/5 because it doesnt last me all day long. I work 12 hr shifts and my hair gets oily after around 5hrs unlike some iv tried that last me all day long. Great price though for a 7oz bottle this is around $7. NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - Clean Freak Dry Shampoo Original

I absolutely love this hair perfecter! I use this on damp hair right after a shower, before I blow dry it. This instantly makes my hair feels silky smooth and makes it look incredibly shiny. This reduces my frizz by a ton! The smell is amazing, very tropical. A little of this product goes a long way. I spray it onto my hands and go from there instead of spraying it directly onto my hair. I will always repurchase this!NOT YOUR MOTHER'S - All Eyes On Me 10-in-1 Hair Perfector
