Nice self care day:)
I love this mask so much because is detoxes your skin and helps with blemishes. Plus the pore strips are nice💁♀️Bioré - Deep Cleansing Pore Strips AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay
Why I Bought It: I bought this because I’ve been dealing with lots of blackheads lately and everything I did didn’t seem to work so I decided this would take them out in no time. My Experience: It gave me results almost instantly. While it did take most of my blackheads out it did leave a few but I didn’t really mind since it took most of them out anyways. So at first I did really like this product but as I did more research I found out that these are actually not good for your skin. They irritate your skin and they can actually enlarge your pores in the long run. Is It Worth It?: Bioré - Deep Cleansing Pore Strips I gave it two stars because it did what it was meant to do but I don’t think the lasting effects are worth some instant results. I wouldn’t recommend this while it did work I don’t want to cause anyone irritated skin and enlarged pores. @Target for $8

Blackhead removing strips
I’ve been buying these Biore nose strips for years. Basically since I was a teenager. These small strips work like a magnet to remove blackheads. I have most of my blackheads in my nose area and these literally peel off all of my impurities. I have tried multiple different blackhead removal methods and this one by far works the best for me. I apply one strip to wet skin after cleansing and leave it on for the maximum amount of time which is 15 minutes. You may remove it earlier if the strip has completely dried off. Once you remove it there may be some slight residue on your nose from the strip but you can easily remove with warm water. It’s really fascinating to me to see the strip pull out so many visible impurities from my face. I think this is a pretty fair deal for what you get and it’s an easily accessible product. This may not work for you if are in need of a more deep cleansing treatment but for the price you pay it’s worth a shot. The small count of strips retails at $6 for an 8 count box.
Bioré - Deep Cleansing Pore Strips These Biore strips are made to suck ALL of the blackheads from the pores on your nose and ooohhh boy does it work! My pores are basically non existent after the use of these strips. Once you apply them to a wet nose, they dry down to almost a paper machete type of material. When you pull it off you can literally see all of your blackheads stuck to it! 🤢 I’ve used these strips for years now and they are always my go to because they work!! I struggle with large pores so I need something that removes the nasties. I love these so much. Great deal, you get 14 of them for $7.99. I recommend to anyone looking for a product to ACTUALLY remove blackheads! 5 out of 5 ⭐️

☀️ SUNSCREEN SERIES: Biore Aqua Rich Versus...
This summer, I’ve been on a quest to compare sunscreens and find something that tops my favorite sunscreen moisturizer- Biore’s Aqua Rich Watery Essence. Here’s my take on that compared to Hydro Boost Water Gel: Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ VS Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30 PROS 💧 $ and can find in any drug store! 💧 Spreads beautifully like a moisturizer and doesn’t leave a white cast (for me, light-medium) 💧 Chemical sunscreen with UVA/UVB coverage! 💧 Doesn’t pill on top of my skincare! 💧 Thicker consistency may feel more occlusive for dry skin. CONS 💧Only SPF 30 😢 (vs 50) 💧Aqua Rich is scented but Hydroboost smells MUCH stronger. Not a huge fan but it’s tolerable. 💧Thicker in consistency, which means it could leave a white cast for those with dark skin tones! 💧Contains Alcohol (as does Biore’s) So does it top Biore’s Aqua Rich Watery Essence? No, not for me! While a reasonable swap, I find the formulation heavier that I’d like since I use SPF as my daily daytime moisturizer. It’s also SPF 30 only and smells stronger than I’d like. Onto the next one 😬😄
Affordable empties - worth every penny!
Can you tell that I’m a big Hydro Boost fan? I swear there is always two items in my cupboard that are from the Neutrogena Hydro Boost line 🙈 Anyways, I love all of these products AND they are all affordable. I would repurchase any of these and in some cases I already have! Neutrogena - Fragrance-Free Hydro Boost Body Gel Cream Such a lovely body lotion. It glides over the skin so easily and absorbs quickly after. I always buy the fragrance-free version. Love the pump, it’s super convenient and love the price point (typically around $10-$15 and you get a lot of product). Benzagel - Acne Wash I have two empties here and I have one more in my cupboard that I’m using right now and I have back up in my other cupboard. For me personally, this product has helped so much with my stubborn acne and I can’t go without it in my evening routine. It’s just under $10 which is a great price. BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water A cult classic. I love this for helping take off whatever is on my face after a workout or for breaking down my eye makeup during the evening. For some reason I feel like it works better and is gentler than other drugstore options. I have two empties here and I’m working on a third right now. It’s $15-$20 for a bottle, which is a little more than other drugstore micellar waters but it works better (in my opinion) and you typically get more product. VERSED - Keep It Supple Body Oil It’s so moisturizing and definitely does make skin feel supple. I like the convenience of the spray top, but I do find myself spraying it into my hands instead and then spreading it on just because I don’t have very good aim and typically spray some oil all over the floor of my bathroom... They oil doesn’t dry in immediately, but it’s not too greasy or wet. It lasted me quite a while and it’s just $10-$15. Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream I don’t think I need to say anything about this one. Cult fave. Great texture for oily / combo skin or for a summer routine. Always buy the fragrance free option. Good price for around $20! I keep buying, although I’m always trying other gel creams. The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% The price point on this is *chef’s kiss*, as with almost all Ordinary products. It’s around $6 and a little goes a long way with this! Incorporating this into my routine helps with brightening, oil control and the appearance of pores. It didn’t do a ton for my acne or dark marks, but overall really happy with the oil control and how it works on my pores. Bioré - UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ The only thing I don’t love about this product is the scent. It smells like alcohol, although it fades once it’s on your skin. I love the gel-like texture, how lightweight it is, how it reapplies over makeup and the price point, $15. 😘

Enlarged & Clogged Pores Myths
There are actually 2 kinds of pores on your body Oil Pores/hair follicles & Sweat Pores. 😓 Sweat Pores~are very tiny & can’t be seen with the naked eye but are all over our body & and of course produce our sweat. Since we can’t see them must of us don’t really think about them at all. 💦 Oil Pores~ can be found all over your body accept the palms of your hands & the soles of your feet. When people talk about enlarged pores or clog pores they are actually referring to oil pores 💦 Oil pores are at the opening of our hair follicles & sebaceous glands, which are responsible for producing the oils that lubricate &moisturize our skin. Why do I have enlarged pores? 🧬 Genetics~ Unfortunately as most issues with our body & skin we inherit enlarged pores, but to worry we can prevent increasing the size of them. ☀️ Sun damage ~Repeated exposure to to UV rays can damage collagen & elastic tissue In the skin, which can increase the size of the pores. 🧼Clog Pores~ In some cases clogged pores can actually change the size of the pore itself by Overstretching the elastin & collagen around it. If a pore is unclogged quickly & properly, it will go back to its original size. 🧼Extraction~ While it seems harmless and very satisfying to extract or pop a pimple, if it’s not done the proper way, you can actually cause damage and deepen the clogged pore or cause broken capillaries. Also can cause your face to break out even more. Can I shrink my pores? Most of the time when people talk about shrinking their pores they are talking about clearing a pore or unclogging it. Which makes them less noticeable. How can I clear/unclog my pores~ Retinol~ Is a powerful anti aging & acne ingredient that has been proven to help clear pores by increasing cell turnover. Glycolic acid (a type of AHA) or salicylic acid (BHA):~These two ingredients are powerful exfoliators that help remove dead skin cells and clear pores of pollutants. Extraction ~ One of the most effective ways of clearing clogged pores or blackheads is extraction. I always recommend having it done professionally by a experienced esthetician. It is very easy if not done properly to cause damage to your pore & skin. Steam~ Steaming your face helps flush out dirt & oils to the surface of your face. Contrary to popular opinion, steam does not open your pores, because they are always open. It helps relaxes the muscles under your skin and makes it easier to clean, so it can help you get out dirt that’s trapped deep inside. 🚨Tip~ I recommend using a gentle cleanser after omg steaming & then a good moisturizer. Don’t steam too often it can cause your face to dry out. You can just use water to steam your face, I personally use klei - Calm Spearmint & Lavender Floral Facial Steam It helps clear your clog pores & moisturizes at the same time. Pore strips~are very satisfying but they only remove the surface of the blackhead and minimize the look of the pore for a short time. Bioré - Deep Cleansing Charcoal Pore Strips
Bioré Charcoal Nose Strip Review
Please don’t judge me for my ugly pimple coming on and my oily skin 🥺😭. But I suppose that’s why I’m here, to give and revive facial/skin routines ☺️ Anyhow, I am using a Bioré Charcoal Nose Strip Make sure to get your nose slightly wet (I think the strip works better with warm water) before applying the strip *Note: I saw that you can add baking soda to help make it stick better, just rinse it off afterwards. If you would like to, you can see my previous post on how to make a baking soda ‘mask’ After applying the strip, set a timer for 10-15 minutes or at least until the strip is dry (I normally do all 15) Afrer timer goes off, take off and reveal the ‘beautiful’ wonders and powers of what the strip has done 🥳

How I got rid of my Acne - Cleansers
One of the biggest steps to take when combatting acne is how you clean your face. This was a huge thing that I struggled with, I tried a lot of different cleansers, some which were too mild (cetaphil) and some that were too harsh (biore). Cetaphil - Gentle Skin Cleanser Bioré - Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser When you have acne, your skin is already sensitive and vulnerable. You need a cleanser which cleanser your skin without being overly stripping. Acne is usually caused by excess oil, which is why cleansing is such an important step. I found that using both a oil cleanser and gel cleanser at night was a game changer. I was getting this small bumps all over my forehead and I wasn’t able to get rid of them until I used an oil cleanser. But, I also needed a gel cleanser to remove all the excess oil from my face, some of which was caused by the oil cleanser itself. My absolute favourite oil cleanser is The Face Shop Rice Water Light Oil Cleanser. As is stated, the oil cleanser is light, which means it’s a thinner co so stench than balms. I preferred this to balms because it was less likely to clog my pores. This product got rid of all the small bumps I had on my forehead. I usually use this on my face for a few minutes, really massaging the product in, and it helps to extract sebaceous filaments, which are essentially oil blocks. THE FACE SHOP - Rice Water Bright, Light Cleansing Oil My favourite gel cleanser is the Youva Glacial Clay Cleanser. Unfortunately, I do think that this product is only available in Canada, but there are all natural clay cleaner alternatives to it. This cleanser leaves my face feeling soft and clean, but it doesn’t feel overly stripped of oil. This leaves just enough oil, that my skin doesn’t begin overproducing oil to compensate from the lost oils. YOUVA - Fresh Face Glacial Clay Cleanser I highly recommend trying these two cleansers. Or at least trying out an oil cleanser in addition to your daily cleanser! If you liked this post, please head on over to missdewyskin.wordpress.com for more skincare info!!
New night time routine
I’ve been struggling with my pores so I bought this charcoal mask from Asavea to see if it would help. This is the second day I’m using it and I like it so far. It’s not too stripping like I thought it would be. My night time routine currently consists of washing my face Bioré - Deep Pore Charcoal CleanserI’ve only been using it for 2 weeks and I find it drying for the face so I don’t recommend using it everyday. I use it every other day and I make sure to moisturize my face really well. On the days I don’t use the cleanser I just use lukewarm water. I’ve also been using disposable cotton wipes I got from Amazon. For the ASAVEA - Black Peel Off Mask With BrushI’ll only be using it once or twice a week. That’s all lovelies🤍

bioré witch hazel deep cleansing pore strips
key ingredients: tea tree oil - tea tree oil is a natural antiseptic with antibacterial and anti inflammatory properties that both soothe and heal skin. witch hazel - witch hazel is a type of shrub that’s used as a remedy for a variety of skin issues related to irritation and inflammation. when applied to the skin, it can help soothe redness/irritation and inflammation. witch hazel is good for inflammatory types of acne such as cysts, pustules, papules, and nodules. it’s similar to drying lotions, as it helps to dry out the blemish. what it claims to do: bioré’s witch hazel pore strips claims to bind to blackheads and not your skin. it also removes dirt 2x deeper into your pores than normal pore strips. these ultra strips lock onto and remove debris and oil to unclog your pores. my experience: bioré pore strips are one of my favorite products to clean deep into your pores, unclogging them of any dirt and debris. although these pore strips do claim to remove blackheads, they only stick to the surface of your skin, which doesn’t get deep enough to the actual blackheads. they reach far enough to only remove bacteria and dirt from the pores. however, these strips are great for removing sebaceous filaments. sebaceous filaments are formed when the sebaceous glands in your hair follicles (which are inside your pores) produce excess sebum/oil. even though sebaceous filaments aren’t necessarily a bad thing, they can overproduce sebum which can clog your pores, leading to pimples. when you peel off the strip, you can see all of the sebaceous filaments, dirt, and oil stuck on the strip. i recommend applying a warm compress or steaming your face by taking a hot shower to soften up the pores to make it easier for the strip to adhere onto your pores, making it more effective. keep in mind that it may be more difficult to peel around the under eye area because that area is most sensitive, so try not to apply it too close around there. Bioré - Ultra Deep Cleansing Pore Strips
Bioré removes blackheads
Bioré Ultra Deep Cleansing pore strips are used to unclog pores, remove dirt, blackheads and oil. I would suggest using on normal and oily skin and avoid if you have very dry or sensitive skin because removing the strip may irritate your skin. I like that this strip contains witch hazel and tea tree oil, which are natural antiseptics. This nose strip is made of a cloth like material in the front and the back is gloss like where you’re supposed to stick to your nose. You are supposed to wet your nose before applying to insure it sticks, wait 10-15 minutes until it drys like paper-mâché and then gently remove and you will see the impurities removed. This product ranges from $5-$13 depending on the amount of strips, and you can purchase at your local Walmart, target or drugstore. I purchased this product because I tend to get blackheads on my nose and have enlarged pores. This is my first time using this product and I somewhat like these strips, but they aren’t my favorite, due to the strong tee tree aroma and redness after stripping off my nose. If you don’t have sensitive skin and you’re looking to save some money then give these a try, they actually remove blackheads and are easy to find at most stores. Added Lactic Acid to my skincare and I'm loving it! Always looking for suggestions, of course, but as of now, I think I'm headed towards happier skin. Should I make changes?
I've just started to really get into skincare, and have designed a routine that I think is doing me better? I'm looking for suggestions, I have sensitive, acne prone skin that burns super easily in the sun. I have improved the quality of my skin with the changes I've made from just cleansing and moisturizing to adding in some serums, but I just wonder if there are any products that might be helpful for me. I'm a college student looking for more budget options that I can get at a local Ulta or possibly even Target. Please leave suggestions!!

Sunscreen is a Must. 🌞
Korean sunscreens have really changed the game for sunscreens world wide. The formulations really prove how advanced their skincare is compared to others. I’ve never not liked a Korean sunscreen because they don’t leave a white cast, they don’t hurt reefs, and they don’t break me out. If you’re thinking of making the switch I would totally say go for it! Here are two of my favorites! Krave - The Beet Shield - this doesnt say sunscreen on it because technically they can’t market it as a sunscreen here in the states because we haven’t approved of their ingredients for sun fighting but it is still a sun screen! This is so lightweight on the skin and gives a night healthy glow without being super oily. Plays well under makeup and I’ve never had any irritation from this formula. Bioré - Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ - you can buy this sunscreen on amazon and it is VERY similar to the Krave one but you get more and this one does contain fragrance if you’re sensitive to it. This one leaves you hydrated as well without irritation and plays well under makeup. These two are very similar so if one is easier to get than the other then I would go for the easily accessible. :)
Save My Face (And Lips) From The Sun
Have you skipped wearing SPF just because you’re too lazy? I was like that too until I learned the importance of wearing SPF through all my research on skincare. It doesn’t just guard us from having skin cancer, it also preempts premature aging. Bioré - Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen SPF50+ I like my SPF light, watery, and runny. The last thing I want to have on my face is a thick layer of product that makes me feel like I plastered a pudding on my face (especially when it’s ultra hot outside). This watery essence that has a high SPF count is perfect for sunny (and even gray) days outside. It shields the skin from the harmful effects of the sun while maintaining light moisture on the skin. I think it does a great job in shielding the harmful rays of the sun but I don’t like the fact that alcohol lands 2nd in the ingredient list after water. That means it has a super high concentration of alcohol in it, which isn’t good for sensitive skin like mine. It even smells like disinfecting alcohol, I’m not kidding. I don’t recommend it to others because of its high alcohol content. If they can only limit its amount, it could’ve been a great moisturizer with sunscreen. THE BODY SHOP - Vitamin E Lip Care Stick SPF 15 I didn’t know that I needed to put on SPF on my lips too. I thought I’m good to go just because I slather sunscreen on my face, neck, and even ears. But I always forget to apply on my lips. That is, until my sister told me about it. And she’s totally right ‘cause lips have skin too. So since then, I’ve been applying lip balm with sunscreen in it, like The Body Shop Vitamin E lip balm. It has SPF 15 so it protects the lips from the sun. It glides on easily. It doesn't come off as too thick nor too think so it’s a perfect base for when I’m applying lipstick. It’s colorless too so perfect as a pre-lipstick ritual. I definitely recommend this to everyone!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS FRIDAY 🧴🛍 First things first I am blown away. The Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF50+ PA++++ which my lovely friend alonplayback recommended is just a game changer. It’s a chemical sunscreen meaning there’s NO white cast/colour and it really is an essence formula. It absorbs in seconds and leaves no sticky or oily film on the skin. • Skin type: It’s perfect for oily/combination skin, if you’re on the drier side I would use a light moisturiser underneath. • Rating: I would give it a 9/10 but my thoughts may change as I continue to use it.
