New routine for combination skin
To give you some background, I have combination skin. My cheeks are more on the normal side but I do get an oily T-zone as the day goes on. My goal with this new routine is to shrink my large pores, control oil production and keep hormonal acne at bay especially around the time of my cycle each month. I’ve been using this routine for several weeks now and I have to say my face is feeling fabulous. More even skin tone, smaller looking pores and no hormonal acne in sight! I love all of these products but the only one I am not sold on is PAULA'S CHOICE - The Unscrub I’m not a fan of the cleaning beads, it seems too gentle for an exfoliant. Here is my current routine: Morning: Cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Toner: pixi - Collagen Tonic Serum: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Treatment: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum Eye serum: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Eye cream: RoC - Retinol Correxion Eye Cream *I’ve noticed that while the caffeine solution is wonderful, it can get sticky so I like to go over it with a tiny bit of eye cream especially if I am going to put concealer on Moisturizer: Aveeno - Calm + Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer Sunscreen: PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 Night: First cleanser: FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm Second cleanser: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser Exfoliating: PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliator (I currently use this 3-4 nights a week, working my way to using every night) Alternative: PAULA'S CHOICE - The Unscrub On nights were I don’t use the BHA, I use this scrub but like I said I’m not completely in love with it so I might change. The beads in it do not exfoliate or break down. It’s very weird but if you have any advice on how to use this better, I’m all ears! Serum: THE inkey LIST - Hyaluronic Acid Serum Treatment: THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum Eye serum: The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG Moisturizer: ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Dreamy Night Cream This routine has been amazing for my skin! I hope this helps anyone who’s needing help with products for their combination skin routines! Thanks!

Morning skin care routine !
So I did a nighttime skincare and I’ve now created a morning skincare routine. For some background I have combination but mainly oily skin and am slightly acne prone - mostly during my time of the month. Fragrance does not bother me. I do have extremely large pores of no fault but Mother Nature. Now that the background on ME is done - let’s talk about the skincare that may help YOU. For starters I use the Simple - Kind to Skin Foaming Facial Cleanser . It’s light weight, non clogging, and isn’t that harsh when compared to say - Saint Ives or clean and clean. It foams nicely and gives me a great clean. Next I apply a toner but isn’t necessary, I’ve been trying to not use it as much but when I do - use a toner of your choice. After, I apply the LA ROCHE-POSAY - Pure Vitamin C Face Serum . This is a nice brightening serum which I’ve noticed reduced my pores slightly. Not sure if thats vitamin c’s job - but it’s helped. Note this is water based so it’s ok for oily folks but does have a strong fragrance - which personally I don’t mind. It’s tacky so needs about 5-10 minutes to set so don’t rush to apply sunscreen or make up. After the vitamin c - I apply one last water based moisturizing agent from la roche called LA ROCHE-POSAY - Hyalu B5 Pure Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum again this is applied ONCE the vitamin c is set. This is also fragranced and tacky so wait another 5-10 minutes before applying sunscreen. Over all - very hydrating if you have dry skin. Then we have eye care. So I’ve been testing the BIOSSANCE - BIOSSANCE Squalane + Peptide Eye Gel this has visibly done nothing for my eyes. Compared to RoC - Retinol Correxion Eye Cream which has reduced my puffiness and dark circles, Biossance has actually reversed it. I am much more puffy and my wrinkles are super visible now. Glad it was only a sample size and not my go too. I recommend ROC. Lastly, I apply a sunscreen. The one I use is also moisturizing calls L'ORÉAL - Revitalift Anti-Wrinkle and Firming Moisturizer . This is Great because it has spf 25 or 30 but it’s very thick. A LITTLE GOES A LONG way. It does leave me a little oily so I will typically suggest a different moisturizer and I will experiment with others in the mean time. All in all this is all drug store, target or amazon purchases and it’s worked for me . Leave me feedback or questions ! I’m happy to answer #cheriepartner #skincare

A night serum that WORKS (empty bottle review)
I bought these night time capsules and because I’ve been trying to find a night time serum that doesn’t make me oily and actually does what it’s supposed to do. These got good reviews at Ulta so I tried them out. At first I was a little apprehensive because my skin is already oily and the capsules are oil, but I bought the smaller version with just 10, so in case they didn’t work I wasn’t out a bunch of money and I’d tried everything else. When I opened the capsule there was A LOT of product in it, which made me a little nervous to put this on my already oily face. But let me tell you, it soaks up super fast, like by the time I went to throw the capsule away it was already soaking in. As for the results, it left my skin very soft and the softness lasts overnight until I get to my morning routine. I would definitely recommend trying these if you’re looking for something new or are just looking for something that works for you.

Almost returned COSRX Galactomyces Essence...
... but instead, I decided to experiment. First impressions This is not for me. Why? Because it made my face oily throughout the day and highlighted the uneven texture of my skin. Because I don’t want a product to highlight my flaws, I almost returned the product. -What a hassle- So I thought, if it’s supposed to help other products absorb and aid in moisture retention, perhaps I just need to play with the products I use in conjunction with it. Second impressions Experiment 1a) Apply BEFORE RoC - Retinol Correxion Line Smoothing Night Serum Capsules retinol at night Follow with THE BODY DELI - Nourish Night Cream Results The next morning my skins was not dry or flakey despite the retinol application. The moisturizer did it’s job but the night cream stung upon application Experiment 1b) Apply AFTER retinol at night Follow with night cream (Same products as above) Results Same as experiment 1a. Except, the essence did not sting upon application. The night cream still did. Thoughts on Exp. 1a&b I thought that maybe the cream stung because it interacted with the essence. Based on the results of changing up the layering sequence, I have concluded that the sting was from the retinol plus night cream; not from the essence and night cream. This is a super gentle product that helps retain moisture. Even with retinol, it did not burn my face. It was quite the opposite, very soothing. It is for this reason I continued to Experiment 2. Experiment 2 Apply after GLAMGLOW - SUPERMUD Clearing Treatment Mask (I don’t normally use mud masks anymore because they dry me out. Also, Despite being marketed to clear your pores, I see the little pore sebums poking through and not absorb the mask.) Results My face did not tighten up and feel parched and devoid of any moisture after immediately applying the essence post mud mask. I followed the essence with HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Aromatherapy Water Rose Petals to give it some extra goodness. Thoughts on Exp.2 It felt really good to put on the essence and rose water. I’m always a little sad to apply a cream or lotion after a mask because I’m trying to get the stuff OFF my face, and I would like to enjoy that deep clean feeling. These two products were the PERFECT solution to maintain that no-product feel without compromising moisture. Overall impression If you have oily/combo skin I would not recommend using this essence before your moisturizer in the AM because it might work too good and you’ll end up slick. Instead, use it as a treatment after products that dry you out. (Best in the PM.) If you have dry skin, perhaps this is why so many people rave that it is a godsend... it helps retain your moisturizer! Thoughts? Opinions? Advice? Let me know!

First post!! Current Skin Care Products :)
One great thing to come out of this crazy time is my rejuvenated commitment to a solid skincare routine! This is a mix of products that are both old and new to me, but I’m loving them all! In the morning, I only use Mamonde - Rose Water Gel Cream , Kiehl's - Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado , and it Cosmetics - Confidence In A Neck Cream Moisturizer , and lastly elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 if I am heading outside :) At night I use everything else except sunscreen, and change out the gel moisturizer for FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration (NOT PICTURED) I just recently introduced Retinol into my routine, but I only use it once a week and make sure not to use any acne medication when I use it (also not pictured because it’s prescribed by my dermatologist). So far I am liking RoC - Deep Wrinkle Night Cream but it’s too early to tell if it is having a significant impact. I use a Sulfur face wash prescribed by my dermatologist which is also not pictured! I am waiting on a new toner to come in, thinking about introducing a chemical exfoliant once a week, and also micellar water. If you have any feedback or suggestions I am super open!

REVIEW: Retinol products are v. popular for wrinkle reduction and the variety of these on the market is vast! it comes in many forms (serums, creams, oils etc) 🤯 I am trying it out atm and have learnt a lot in the process! —————————————- retinol is used to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. It is a derivative of Vitamin A aka Retin A and helps the skin renew itself (but is not as potent as Retin A which is even purer and more aggressive and available by prescription only)..retinol doesnt PREVENT ageing. its most effective in its pure form (not mixed with other ingredients) but can also be irritating to the skin in large doses, which is why most brands mix it with soothing ingredients that minimise irritation but make it less potent. if using pure retinol its best to start on a low dose... iv been using this RoC cream which is not pure. i applied it 4 times a week to my forehead ONLY and did this for the last 2 weeks. since using it, it has given me a hideous breakout on my forehead. worst i have ever had 🤦🏼‍♀️i would definitely not recommend this for anyone my age, or with oily/combination skin! Its designed for mature skin, which tends to be drier, and this cream is very heavy and not for me and iv stopped using it now! at the time of purchase i knew so little about Retinol... Id score this 1/5 for me. ————————————— i am now trying out the new elizabeth arden retinol capsules - but again, the dosage of retinol is probably too low to see a difference quickly as its mixed with other ingredients and also these are mega pricey. so i think all roads are pointing me to a pure form of retinol... i will probably try Medik8 😀 will start on a low dose (0.3%) and see how i go! you only really need retinol if you have lines and wrinkles and want to reduce them... as its quite intense on the skin id not recommend it unless like me, you have visible wrinkles appearing. use it as part of your overnight routine and wear spf the next day as it increases skin sensitivity!!!! also check how to layer pure retinol with other products

I have been using this eye cream for years. It treats the 3 major problems we have with our under eyes. Crow’s feet, Dark Circles and Puffiness. You do not need more than the length of a grain of rice. I pat it all around my eye using my ring fingers and always make sure I go up and out until it is soaked in. Retinoids increase the production of collagen and stimulate for new blood vessels changing the overall skin color and appearance. This isn’t as strong as some medical grade retinol so there is no shedding. I’ve noticed a slight lighter color under my eyes and a diminish in my crows feet and puffiness. #RoC

PUFF PUFF GONE!
PUFF PUFF GONE!
This RoC - Retinol Correxion Eye Cream has a cool watering texture which helps reduce puffiness in my eyes thus leaving my eyes nice and flat without the appearance of bags underneath. Though it is used to correct dis coloration and crows feet I solely use it to reduce puffiness works amazing. I've used it plenty of times after about 10 "long nights" leaves my eyes nice and bright.
