Weleda Skin Food is my Holy Grail!
I love Weleda's Skin Food line. The Body Butter is my favorite but the Original Ultra-Rich Cream and Light Nourishing Cream are also perfect for the dry winter weather here in the desert that is LA. It keeps my skin super soft and moisturized. Team No Ash over here! Have you guys tried any Weleda products? What are your faves? Winter skin savior
This is one of my winter skin staples. I’ve been using it for about 3 years now and it truly saves my skin from the harsh Northeast winters. Skin Food can be used on the face or body. I mostly use it on my face. Though it’s classified as a cream I find it’s more like an ointment. The texture is thick and sticky. To help add more slip I add a drop or two of face oil. It’s gives a super slick look to my skin so I only use it at night or when I’m going to be outside in the cold for a prolonged amount of time. For those who are hesitant to use rich textures I would recommend WELEDA - Skin Food Lightas an alternative. SF contains sunflower and sweet almond oils, beeswax, and a blend of botanical extracts including calendula and chamomile. It smells like oranges and while I find it to be soothing those with an aversion to scent may be put off. You can find the 2.5 oz size for about $18 and the tube lasts forever since you only need a pea sized amount. I’m prone to blackheads and this product has never caused any issues. If you live in a harsh climate give it a try and see if your skin likes it as much as mine does. Five stars! WELEDA - Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream

This Moisturizer made my skin DRY!
Sometimes we have our hopes up high for a product or brand and get completely let down. I had discovered Weleda when researching some dermatologist favorites and came across their moisturizers at Target soon after. Because of my normal to oily skin, I chose the Light Nourishing Cream as a nighttime moisturizer. I started using this and enjoyed the strong but pleasant scent and the way it sinks into my skin, but realized quickly my skin did not enjoy it like I thought it would. WELEDA - Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream ☆I got some red irritation on my forehead and noticed I would wake up with skin that felt tight and not plump and hydrated like I am used to. I then decided to take a deep dive into the ingredients... Look, as an esthetician I usually don't purchase products before checking out the ingredients but I let this one slip through the cracks! After a brief look, I quickly saw the culprit of my dry skin: Alcohol 😱 There are fatty alcohols that add alot of good things to a skincare product. This includes a better formulation, extra skin soothing benefits, etc. However there are also bad alcohols that we should avoid all together! Such as isopropyl alcohol, straight alcohol, or denatured alcohol. This moisturizer includes pure alcohol as its 4th ingredient! When using a skincare product with alcohol, it can immediately give a refreshing look to the skin as alcohol strips all the oiliness away. This may trick you into loving it, but over time can cause sensitivity and irritation. There are plant extracts and hydrating ingredients listed after alcohol, but unfortunately I did not notice any benefits from them. I would definitely avoid this product especially if you have dry or sensitive skin. I really would recommend skipping it all together, but if this has worked for you so far then I am glad to hear it! Definitely try avoiding alcohol in your skincare products as much as possible. Unfortunately, their ultra rich cream contains pure alcohol as well so I won't be trying that one either. I am using up this moisturizer by applying to my hands and it has been soothing them nicely. ☆ Have you tried this? What products have not worked for you in the past?

Top Drugstore Moisturizers: Weleda ✨
Okay!!! This moisturizer is a game changer. For anyone that has used the Weleda Skin Food but may have thought it was too heavy, thick, or greasy...this product is 10/10. This is a lighter formula of the classic Skin Food and I prefer this one way more. I buy this at Target and I believe it is only $18. I use this at night or on no makeup days on my face and neck. It sinks in pretty quickly but leaves your skin glowing all day while still magically controlling oil. It has plant extracts, chamomile, and calendula to calm redness and heal up dry spots. 🌱 I also use this on my body if I have any sunburns or dryness. It has quite a thick consistency when it comes out of the bottle but thins out when you apply it. Skin Food Light works perfectly on my combination skin so I could see it working well for you if you have normal, dry or oily skin. If you have tried this let me know what you thought of it!!! 🌷✨🤍 WELEDA - Skin Food Light Nourishing Cream

Must-Try for dry, chapped lips!
WELEDA - Skin Food Lip Butter So, so good if your lips are very dry, chapped, and in need of some TLC. No fussy ingredients, and I can really see and feel a difference after one use. Texture is similar to Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask, but not as thick. FYI - This has a slight lemon-y scent. Suitable for everyday use because it has a nice shine and it doesn’t feel sticky and uncomfortable on. Must try!!

My go-to lip balm / treatment post-routine!
Okay so I am completely obsessed with lip products, if you are too you know the struggle. However, this is one lip product that is a staple at home in my skincare drawer and I apply it after every routine I complete: WELEDA - Skin Food Lip Butter Weleda has such a small but mighty lineup of hydrating products including this lip balm! It’s formulated with lanolin (I know this is controversial to some) but it’s truly one of the greatest ingredients for your lips to keep them crack-free! Its incredibly dry and cold where I love and this is a balm I know I can count on to keep my lips from cracking and bleeding when I go outside and go about my day. If you look at the photos, it has a similar consistency to Vaseline but it’s much thinner. It also does not have a smell or taste...thank GOD! Also, the applicator is amazing in my opinion so I’m not forced to use my fingers to spread it or apply it. If you’re like me and you’re obsessed with trying new lip products—go go go!! You won’t be disappointed with this pick! It’s SOLD OUT at Ulta right now which is not surprising at all—but it retails for $7 and honestly mine will last me about 6-8 months with daily use so I’m not mad about it! I think compared to higher end prices for products that work way worse than this, it’s SO worth it. I have to rate this 5 out of 5 stars because it’s reliable, affordable, accessible, and I respect the brand.

Oh man. I wanted to like this so much. I have extremely dry skin on my face, especially in the winter. I thought this was going to help as a night time moisturizer and help with the dry peely skin, but it was so heavy that it broke me out. Every time I use it I get the worst breakouts and I have relatively few blemishes. I now use this for my heels and elbows and it works fine there. WELEDA - Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream

So much love for this
weleda S
So much love for this weleda Skin Food is one of those love/hate products and I definitely LOVE it 💚 Also loved by my faves katiejanehughes and the fabulous carolinehirons... Yes I use it on my face, I love the thick oily texture and for me it melts in beautifully, I also love the trick of using it as a natural highlight ✨ Oh and I adore the scent... to me it’s so comforting 🥰 If you think this isn’t for you or tried it and didn’t get on with it, they’ve just launched a ‘light’ version.... which I need to track down to try...

Skin Food, a water in oil emul
Skin Food, a water in oil emulsion, has followed the same recipe for nearly one hundred years, making it a cult classic. When Weleda’s CEO travelled to health stores around the world, he got the directive to make more skin food. Thus, Skin Food Light was born. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Helianthus Annuus oil, beeswax, shea butter and lanolin help to seal humectants and moisture into the skin, protecting trans-epidermal water loss, whilst pansy, calendula and chamomile calm the skin. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My usual mantra is to avoid drying alcohols and essential oils, as these tend to flare up my rosacea. Both the original and light version contain these ingredients, and I have no idea why, but I find these actually reduce any redness.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I love to use the original Skin Food at night, and it’s Light sister during the day. I presumed that as it was labelled ‘light’ it wouldn’t be as moisturising as it’s counterpart, but I was totally wrong - it really is just as moisturising, and the only difference to me is the texture. ⁣
