Fall 2020 Skincare Routine
The first product in my skincare routine is the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water. It smells a little weird, but works super well for me. It’s cooling and anti redness, as well as being water based, meaning it can be good for those with oily skin. Micellar water is made from purified water mixed with hydrating compounds and cleansing agents. The cleansing agent molecules join to form micelles, which are a chemical structure that helps pull oil and dirt from the skin. This micellar water is $6.29 from Target for a 6.7 oz bottle. I think it’s fairly cheap for a cleanser and works very well for the price. Simple - Micellar Cleansing Water Next, 2 times a week I use the Bliss Mighty Marshmallow Bright & Radiant Whipped Mask. When I first opened the container for this mask, I was hit with the distinct smell of strawberry jello. This is actually something I like about the mask. Other than the smell, which comes from the mask containing extracts and glycerin, it is also cooling, anti redness, creamy, super easy to apply, and leaves your skin very glowy after use. Now let’s talk ingredients. The key ingredients in this product are listed below: Marshmallow Root Extract: hydrating Vitamin C: helps even skin tone Olive Leaf Extract: limits water loss and plumps the skin Zinc PCA: reduces excess oil and anti redness Glycerin: hydrating One thing to note about this mask is it does contain some alcohol. This alcohol is okay in products though. (See my post on Alcohol) This product is available at Target for $16.39 for a 1.7 oz. bottle. It is a more pricey mask, but I personally think it does more for my skin than a $55 mask I used to buy. bliss - Mighty Marshmallow Mask Next I use the Trader Joes Rose Water Facial Toner. I will say this toner is pretty average. It’s hydrating, but has no outstanding ingredients or benefits. I don’t think I’ll repurchase it simply because it has fragrance, something I didn’t notice when I bought it. This toner can be found at Trader Joes for $3.99 for a 4 oz bottle. As you can see, it’s an incredibly cheap product, but not worth it. TRADER JOE'S - Rose Water Facial Toner My moisturizer on the other hand I love. It’s the Olay Complete Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15. It’s creamy, hydrating, a little oily, and leaves your skin super smooth and glowy. All of its active ingredients are sunscreens, and other than that it’s just a good, basic moisturizer that works really well for me. It can be found at Target for $11.39 for a 6 oz bottle. OLAY - Complete All Day UV Moisturizer SPF 15 Sensitive Skin And finally I use the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion. This is a thick, creamy, hydrating moisturizing body lotion that I’m in love with! I use it twice a day and my skin is softer than its ever been. Highly recommend. CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin This lotion can be found at Target for $17.49 for a 12 oz bottle. Please give this post a cheer so more people can find amazing products, and follow me @_sips_tea_ on Instagram and on this account for Cherie! -Naomi

My skincare
I have very sensitive skin, too sun, makeup, face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen., you name it! But here are some products that work for my skin. I’ve never had a horrible issue with my skin *knock on wood* but I did got through a few years of acne and flakiness on my skin. Off and on now I’ll get occasional breakouts but they will go away if I tend my skin correctly. Morning routine• Avène - Tolérance Extrême Cleansing Lotion I wet my face and then apply this cream and wipe away access with a cotton pad. Glossier. - Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum This product I have good times with and some bad, but overall it doesn’t irritate my skin and I don’t apply it where I have small scarring because it seems to clog the area. ORIGINS - GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff This one is a bit pricey but definitely worth it! The only eye cream I’ve used that actually works with brightening. I have extremely dark circles and this helps with it. Now I know I’m going to get attacked for not using a sunscreen but I haven’t found one yet that works. I’ve tried sooo many, ones directed toward sensitive skin and all have broke me out or triggered eczema. If you have suggestions let me know! ••••••••••••••• Nighttime routine• Simple - Micellar Cleansing Water I use this with a cotton pad all around my face and then follow with the Avène - Tolérance Extrême Cleansing Lotion Glossier. - Super Glow Vitamin C + Magnesium Serum this again and I’m finished! 🧡🧡☀️ Extra tlc for my skin! AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay this mixed apple cider vinegar became my best friend, I started this about two years ago and it has helped me so much. It can cause irritation but it doesn’t last very long, right after using I apply a generous amount of moisturizer. pixi - DetoxifEYE I will occasionally use these if I’m getting glammed up somewhere and they make such a difference!! •••••••••

Over Exfoliation: Products for Recovery
Many of these can be considered drugstore products since they’re very accessible. I like to make budget friendly recommendations to make it more convenient for everyone including students like myself. —Cleansers— Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash This is a very gentle cleanser that has a gel-like texture. It includes very soothing ingredients and rinses very nicely without leaving any residue or a tight feeling. This cleanser effectively removes dirt and oil as well. This product is fragrance-free and it’s only $5! Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Hydrating Gel Cleanser This is another gentle cleanser with many soothing ingredients suitable for sensitive or irritated skin. This cleanser leaves skin refreshed without leaving it dry or tight. It’s fragrance-free and it retails for $7! —Toners/Serums— FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Wild Oat Hydrating Toner This toner contains many hydrating and soothing ingredients for calming redness and moisture. This toner provides lightweight hydration and is fragrance-free. This product is free from iffy ingredients such as alcohol and witch hazel which are common among many toners. These ingredients can be too stripping especially for sensitized skin. It also contains antioxidant and fatty acid rich squalane. This toner can be considered to be on the pricier side, retailing for $22. FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum This serum has a very lightweight texture that works well for all skin types while providing sheer moisture. The product includes a very good mix of reparative, antioxidant, and anti-irritants. It has hyaluronic acid and collagen which helps reduce inflammation and provides the defense of antioxidants. Another ingredient included is feverfew which has anti-redness capabilities. This product is also fragrance-free and retails for $38. —Emollients— CeraVe - Healing Ointment Emollients are great for those dry flaky areas, especially this one. It’s a gentle formula that is fragrance-free. The formula contains ceramides, hyaluronic acid, a high amount of petrolatum, mineral oil, and silicone which all contribute to this ointment’s healing capabilities. This product retails for $11. Aquaphor - Aquaphor Healing Ointment This is a very reliable product with a gentle fragrance-free formula. This is a dermatologist favorite for reason since it does amazingly well with dry, cracked, and irritated skin. —Moisturizers— FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer Has a gentle and soothing formula that is also fragrance-free. Good mix of replenishing ingredients with antioxidants. This product moisturizes without leaving a greasy feeling. I hope this helps everyone! :)

Makeup Wipes...ew
Many people use makeup wipes since they’re so convenient. They are easy to use and good for on the go. However, there are many downsides to them that many people don’t really know about. 1. Most facial cleansing wipes claim to “clean” the skin, but these wipes almost always leave some sort of residue behind. This residue can be a very thin film that covers the whole face. Now many wipes claim to be hydrating as well, but most just leave this sticky film on the face. This film is really just attracting germs and pollutants. 2. The film that gets left on the face can clog pores leading to breakouts. 3. Makeup wipes have many concentrated emulsifiers and surfactant which can the wipes to be irritating and drying. 4. The texture of many makeup wipes is rough enough to be considered a physical exfoliant. Since most people already have an exfoliating part in their routine, this is considered to be over exfoliation. 5. Overall makeup wipes are just too rough with the skin especially the eye area where it’s more sensitive. This can cause advanced pre mature aging so say hello to wrinkles. 6. Makeup wipes cause unnecessary waste that can be avoided. This waste is not good for the environment. 7. Cleansing balms and oils are just more effective than makeup wipes while being more gentle as well. They also don’t cause all that unnecessary waste that cleansing wipes do.

Skincare on a Budget: Best Drugstore Cleansers
Now if you’re a student like me than budgeting can be difficult and finding affordable but effective products can prove to be a challenge. Now I’ve tried many products to help recommend various products and save you the time and money. —Dry Skin— Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gentle Cleansing Lotion This is definitely one of the better products of the hydro boost line from Neutrogena. Some of the other hydro boost products contain potentially irritating ingredients while this one doesn’t. -Easy to use and formula is soothing. -Fragrance-free. -Does a very good job of cleansing skin from dirt, oil, and non-waterproof makeup. -Isn’t effective for long-wear makeup, but a double cleanse system is always recommended for makeup wearers. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Face Cleanser This is a personal favorite cleanser for dry skin because of how effective it is. It’s amazing how well it cleanses skin without overly stripping it which I know is important for people with dry skin. -Fragrance free -It had glycerin which is a humectant, meaning it helps maintain moisture. -It also has niacinamide, ceramides, and gentle surfactants that won’t overly strip the skin. —Combination Skin— earthtoskin - Super Greens Nourshing Face Cleanser This is for more combination to oily skin. It contains some amazing ingredients for a really great price point. This product can be found at Walmart which is very accessible. -It has glycerin which is a great humectant and coco glucoside, a very good surfactant ideal for cleansers. -It also contains very soothing and hydrating extracts such as kale, broccoli, and cucumber extracts. -It does have fragrance but it’s not that big of a deal since a cleanser is a wash off treatment. Simple - Micellar Gel Wash Now this is a recommendation for more combination to dry skin, but it is amazing for all skin types. Although the ingredient list is simple, it is very effective for cleansing. -Fragrance-free -Very affordable and accesible —Oily Skin— CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin This is an amazing product for oily skin and really lives up to its reputation. It’s really good for cleansing the skin of oil and dirt without leaving the skin feeling dry. -Fragrance-free and free of any other irritating ingredients. -Contains gentle cleansing agents and rinses without leaving any residue. -Includes niacinamide which is great for oil control and hyaluronic acid for plumping the skin. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cream Cleanser This product cleanses effectively without skin feeling overly stripped. -Fragrance-free. -Glycerin and coco glucoside, a very effective but gentle surfactant. I hope this helps you to find your affordable cleanser!

night time routine!
Rate My Nighttime Routine! I thought I just had oily skin but I recently discovered that other people have orange peel type skin, so what do you think of the products I’m using right now for nighttime? Simple - Kind to Skin Micellar Cleasing Water I only use this one when I have worn makeup all day, I prefer the Garneir honestly, CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin I really like this cleanser, it’s not near as stripping as the foaming acne cleanser but my skin feels clean afterwords, what cleanser would you recommend for me? The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA I use this about every 3 days and I can tell an immediate difference in my skin the next morning when I wake up, should I increase how often I use it? The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% I use this every morning and night (except when exfoliating with lactic acid) and I liked it in the beginning but now it’s like meh, I honestly don’t see that much difference in my skin Cetaphil - Hydrating Eye Gel-Cream I just got into eye creams because my bags got SERIOUS this year, it’s okay, feels good putting on put I can’t tell much of a difference in fine lines or dark circles any recommendations would be great CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion I loved this PM lotion when I first got it but now I’m again not a huge fan. It’s honestly a little light for my skin and I feel like I need more moisture at night Any recommendations please let me know!

Please help!!!
Hi! After over a year of my skin thriving, it started to struggle recently (I haven’t left the house in a while and probably haven’t been drinking enough water). I thought it might be because of my moisture barrier and after doing some research I got CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion to help repair it. I have super sensitive skin and a lot of products burn or cause me to break out but I heard CeraVe was great for sensitive skin. I’ve been using this product for a few days now and it burns my skin and causes redness and irritation every time I put it on. And I’ve gotten some little bumps on my face since starting it. Does anybody know why? It also doesn’t feel moisturizing even though my skin isn’t super dry to begin with. I want to learn more about my sensitive skin but I cannot seem to find a pattern in products that work and don’t. My main skin concerns are sensitivity, redness, and large pores. I’m hoping you guys can help and recommend products. Thanks in advance! Btw the third picture is from before I started this product (no face makeup on). Products that have worked: Aveeno - Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser Eucerin - Redness Relief, Dermatological Skincare, Night Creme (I’ve been using this for years but it started burning slightly the last couple week so I decided to try something else) FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Hydrating Serum LA ROCHE-POSAY - Serozinc Face Mist Simple - Kind to Skin Micellar Cleasing Water (and every other micellar water I’ve tried, I use this to cleanse in the mornings instead of washing my face) Products that surprisingly didn’t work: Aveeno - Ultra-Calming Foaming Cleanser (this product burned my skin and dried me out more than the clear complexions one, causing my skin to flake for the first time ever) GARNIER - SkinActive The Gentle Sulfate-Free Cleanser (burned my skin but less than other products have) The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (broke out my skin really badly - I tried to wait it out to see if it was just purging but it didn’t get better. It didn’t burn though) elta md SKINCARE - UV Shield Full-Body Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 45 (works on my body but I saw reviews that said it works for sensitive faces too... but it made me break out on my face) belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb (burned my skin) Simple - Kind to Skin Moisturizing Facial Wash (burned my skin a bit but didn’t cause breakout or excessive dryness)

I always go back to this cleansing oil!
Tatcha’s cleansing oil has been a staple in my cabinet for over a year now! I fell in love while looking for something to replace the empty Simple - Hydrating Cleansing Oil and got hooked. At first touch I thought it was incredible, but I also thought it was just another oil cleanser. Since then, I’ve tried a few other brands and this one is still one of the best. For me it’s the smell 😩 the slip that keeps on slipping during a facial massage 💆🏽‍♀️ how it gets nice and milky when emulsified with water...I could go on. I wanted something I could still double cleanse with that both rinsed and wiped off well without leaving a thick I’m-in-7th-grade-using-olive-oil-as-a-daily-moisturizer look (been there, done that too many times). It’s definitely in the higher price range, but if you’re looking to splurge on a treat, this is totally worth it. PLUS every purchase from Tatcha helps out Room to Read, an organization supporting gender equality in education.

My Favourite Exfoliation and Moisturiser Routine
The days when you exfoliate and moisturise really do “be like that”, don’t they! I absolutely live for the days when I get to do a more in-depth skincare routine and get a fresh glow going. My favourite products at the moment include a subtle physical exfoliant, an acid exfoliant, and two moisturising products. Generally, I use Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser once a week, because physical exfoliants are just so satisfying. The granular texture of this cleanser is super fine, and so is much more gentle as far as physical exfoliants go. You always want to avoid big “chunks” in an exfoliant as they easily create micro-tears on the skin. On days when I use the Murad cleanser, I follow up with The Ordinary - 100% Plant-Derived Hemi-Squalane which has a pleasant “dry oil” texture. I massage it into my skin gently but with firm fingers, massaging in circular motions for about a minute. For a day or two after, I’ll stick to my Simple - Hydrating Cleansing Oil and CeraVe - Daily Moisturizing Lotion For Normal To Dry Skin to keep my skin fresh. A day or two later, I’ll use The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA on clean, dry skin. I then wait at least 15 minutes before applying a generous amount of my Cerave moisturiser to rehydrate my freshly exfoliated skin. It’s important to be aware of how often your exfoliate. It’s super easy to over-exfoliate your skin and cause MORE redness, inflammation and breakouts than what you may be trying to remedy. Acids and serums are very irritating to inflamed pimples, especially hormonal breakouts, so be weary of your skin condition and the best advice for dealing with your concerns. As a rule, I don’t exfoliate more than twice per week, usually sticking to one. And always, always moisturise your skin after a few minutes. The wait allows your skin’s PH balance to settle, and the moisturiser stops your exfoliant from drying you out.

I’ve never had any issues with my skin during my teens which i’m really thankful🙌🏼 But the last year my skin started to break out a lot and i honestly don’t know what to do anymore. My skin has never been so bad and it’s just so frustrating to look at the mirror and see my skin like that. If anyone here has any tips for me i would really appreciate it💖. Skin type: Dry, acne prone and sensitive(sometimes). My current routine: Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water CAUDALIE - Vinopure Clear Skin Purifying Toner 200ml PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Cetaphil - UVA/UVB Defense SPF50 Daytime Moisturizer ALPHA-H - Clear Skin Blemish Control Gel

Micellar Water!
Simple is my all time favorite brand for Micellar Water. I’ve tried so many different ones that are good, but I always go back to simple. I recently purchased this Simple - Water Boost Micellar Cleansing Water and I love it even more than the original formula! I typically use micellar water after I cleanse in the shower because the hot water sometimes irritates my face. This formula is specifically for dry, dehydrated or sensitive skin. Like most micellar waters it gently cleanses and removes impurities and make-up from your face, but it also soothes and instantly re-hydrates thirsty skin. I have found that if I’m having a rosacea flare up, this really helps to calm the redness and soothe the inflammation. Simple is one of my top, and most highly recommended drug store brands. For less than $10 you can’t beat this. I 100% recommend this product, and all other simple products I’ve tried!

Simple - Hydrating Light Moist
Simple - Hydrating Light Moisturizer Pouch Ok, so I couldn’t find the bottle of cherie, but it’s the same product, just in a pouch instead. This product is a lightweight cream. It is perfectly adequate. It did not irritate my skin, or do anything wrong, I just didn’t feel like it was very effective and it didn’t make me feel like I was treating myself. It was a little blah. If your not into skincare, or just want something inexpensive that won’t irritate, this is a good product for you, just wasn’t for me.

Oil Cleansers...My FAVOURITE f
Oil Cleansers...My FAVOURITE first cleanses option is always oil... They work so well at breaking down makeup, SPF and daily grime. As oil attracts oil... so it’s super cleansing without stripping the skin. . I pour a coin-sized amount into the palm of my hands, rub together and massage into my skin for at least a minute... A good oil cleanser will completely emulsify with water, turn milky and wash completely away... It has to actually be the most enjoyable step in my entire skincare routine! These are some of my faves... 🌟super.facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Skin Renew Cleansing Oil - such a gorgeous silky oil with an amazing uplifting scent. I recommend this to EVERYONE! And everyone I know LOVES it... 🌟simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil - just as lovely as above but without fragrance if that’s something you prefer... also an absolute BARGAIN at £6. 🌟medik8 Lipid Balance Cleansing Oil - This is such a thoroughly enjoyable and effect oil cleanser. Focusing on riding the skin of any build-up of pollution, the skin is left feeling amazing after this! 🌟doubles All-In-One Argan Oil Cleanser - This is such a beautiful natural oil product. Slightly thicker in consistency you need to add a little water to help massage it into the skin, smells gorgeous and again as all the others it just leaves skin feeling amazing... 🌟theinkeylist Oil and Water Double Cleanser - a new one to the collection this works slightly differently, shake to mix the oil and water and can be used with a cotton pad or rubbed in with hands... if you haven’t tried an oil cleanser or are scared of using an oil on your skin this is the one to try... doesn’t even feel like an oil, actually feels like water! Still super effective at breaking down makeup etc and washes away completely leaving skin feeling super soft and cleansed! Let me know if you already use an oil and which one is your fave? Or if you’re scared to try one let’s chat...

5/5 Stars! Ingredients: Zinc and Witch Hazel (BHA) Benefits: Zinc absorbs oil and Witch hazel dissolves it for clearer skin and a less oily complexion. I always take a full minute with my face cleansing in the morning so all the sebum is dissolved and washed away Results: I love this cleaner because its a gentle exfoliant wash with active ingredients that work. I have oily acne prone skin, and this helps to keep me clear and less oily. it takes makeup off really well and works both day and night Price: This was $4 for me at Marshalls... how could you not buy it at that price? and with such amazing benefits. Its great!

This product is very simple!
This product is very simple!
ABOUT Simple’s soothing facial toner claims to be the kindest to sensitive skin (as well as ✅ all skin types) and ✅ 100% alcohol free! It contains ✅ multi-vitamins such as Vitamin B5, Witch Hazel, and Allantoin. It is also fragrance free and animal friendly (no animal derived ingredients). OPINION: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What I mean by the title is: Simple’s facial toner is indeed simple. Meaning, I don’t really think there’s anything special about it. It does it’s job and does it well; my skin feels clean and fresh, and it’s cleared my skin pretty well. But my honest opinion is that I don’t think I’d choose it over other toners. However, I would definitely recommend this product for sensitive skin since it doesn’t feel harsh at all!
