What is your Top 5 for 2020?
I think we can all agree that this has been a tough year. But, that being said, I used my time in quarantine to totally change my approach to skincare. Turning 41 this year, I know what aging does to my skin and I’ve learned so much through research about the best ways to fight it. The other huge thing I learned this year... you don’t always have to spend hundreds to find what works. Thanks to the new beauty market, there are amazing tools available and accessible to anyone of any budget. Finally! But this post isn’t about budget. This post is about the absolute best products that I fell in love with this year and intend to keep around forever! #5 - it might be at the bottom of the list, but DERMA•E - Anti-Wrinkle Renewal Cream is my staple and one of the greatest loves of my life. Having combination skin, it’s really hard to find an amazing moisturizer that does the work I need but doesn’t create an oil slick on my face. This inexpensive and unassuming night cream is not only clean, but contains both retinol and bakuchiol... as well as allantoin and B5. Less than $15, available at Target, and the most effective product I’ve ever used for soft, smooth, grease-free skin. #4 - I never understood the benefits of facial oils until I found GOOD MOLECULES - Pure Cold-Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil this year. Holy wow. What a difference it makes. If you like soft and younger looking skin, spend the $6 and make this the last step in your nighttime routine. I never totally understood that rosehip oil is really retinol light. It encourages cell turnover and creates the most amazing texture of skin. #3 - Likely the most overlooked active in The Ordinary’s line, the The Ordinary - Pycnogenol 5% is a must have! Does it smell terrible? Yes. Is it easy to overdo and create greasy skin? Yes. But does it revolutionize your skin and it’s youth? Also YES! A little goes a long way. I use two drops in the morning and three at night, just before applying my moisturizer. It’s honestly made a world of difference in brightness, clarity, softness, and fine lines. #2 - One word, complicated definition: epigenetics. It’s pretty fascinating and I didn’t totally understand it at first. I stumbled upon StriVectin - Wrinkle Recode Line Transforming Melting Serum by mistake. It’s the only product in my entire top five over $20. But what an incredible act of serendipity this mistake was. It smells and feels like VapoRub... but you’ll not only see immediate results in deep and fine lines, even your hands look better just from applying it. It really is an amazing product. And of course, my #1 is probably everyone else’s #1 for this year. The mighty The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution . I don’t think I need to elaborate much on it. I’ll just say, if you’re not using it, you probably should. It’s beyond phenomenal.

You probably need this mask.
Might as well just face it... StriVectin - Blue Rescue Clay Renewal Mask probably needs to be in your arsenal immediately. No matter what your skin woes are, I can almost guarantee this mask is the answer. ⭐️ For those who are repairing their skin barrier or have over-exfoliated, there is a probiotic ferment component in this mask that will repair delicate skin, as well as balance and refresh normal or fatigued skin. It peps tired skin up instantly! ⭐️ The mask is white in the jar, but as you massage it, you quickly become as blue as a Vegas show act. That’s because it’s packed with blue algae beads that act as little texture warriors. As you massage the mask, these beads release, changing the color from white to blue. The algae beads smooth and soften skin, fade fine lines and reduce signs of aging. The morning after I used this mask for the first time, I couldn’t stop touching my face. It was sooooo soft and felt incredible. ⭐️ Red seaweed draws and locks in moisture, which makes this mask intensely hydrating without any greasiness or oiliness afterward. This mask is for every skin type - oily, dry, combination, sensitive, mature. ⭐️ Uses two types of clay as well as Shea butter to thoroughly detox skin, prevent acne breakouts and refine pores. This might be my favorite part - because this is the ONLY clay mask I’ve ever used that doesn’t dry or harden. The formula is very rich and buttery and even though you leave it on for 15 mins after massaging it to blue, it never hardens or feels chalky. It stays just as smooth as it was putting it on. This makes it easy to remove as well. Instead of feeling the crackle of a normal clay mask drying, this mask just causes a deep cooling sensation that’s very soothing. After rinsing, I could see results in my pores immediately... to have such a noticeable effect without drying out my skin in the slightest was absolutely amazing to me! It’s a little pricey, but unlike other masks I’ve purchased (looking at you, Sand and Sky), the jar is actually fairly large and filled to the brim with product so it lasts a long time. It’s safe to use with your retinols and serums in your regular routine. I can honestly say that I feel like I have brand new skin every single time I apply it. That’s worth the price - and more - to me. Have you tried it? If so, what did you think? Let me know! Also, stay tuned... I’ll be reviewing my second favorite mask ever tomorrow (a much cheaper one that is almost as amazing as this one!)

Clay Masks for Oily Skin; Pass or Grab?
I have oily skin so I tend to gravitate more towards clay masks. My main concerns with my skin are my apparent pores, uneven skin tone, and acne (which I thankfully have under control with my current routine). Over the past few months I’ve been using these masks off and on and I’ve really gotten a feel for them. My favorite mask is the StriVectin - Blue Rescue Clay Renewal Mask . It is also the most expensive at $48 but you get 3.2 oz of product. StriVectin claims this mask will reduce the look of fine lines, enlarged pores, rough texture, dullness, and the signs of the fatigue. It has a really cool massage activated technology where it goes from a white mask to a blue mask. It really highlights blue algae which soothes the skin and reduces the fine lines. It also includes white clay and shea butter to draw out impurities without stripping. My favorite thing about this mask is it doesn’t dry down and feel tight like most clay masks do. It stays wet the whole time you use it (as soon as a mask dries it’s done doing its thing so you’re getting more out of your formula this way). I usually leave it on for 10 minutes after massing it into the skin and wash off. My skin ALWAYS feels baby smooth after this. Like after this your face feels so hydrated despite being a clay mask. My face always feels and looks better after I use this. The next mask is the ORIGINS - Hello, Calm Face Mask which is $28 for 2.5 oz. Origins claims this mask helps hydrate and soothe the skin. It highlights cannabis sativa oil from hemp which really hydrated the skin. This is also another clay mask that doesn’t dry down like your typical clay mask which I like. At first I thought I was seeing results from it but I stopped using it and when I picked it back up I wasn’t seeing anything. Like at first I thought it was helping with hydration but I don’t think it really was. It has a really strong smell which I think was irritating my face (not much but enough to not want to use it) more than it was hydrating. I wouldn’t recommend this one based on the fact it didn’t really do anything. My least favorite mask lately has been the OLE HENRIKSEN - Cold Plunge Pore Mask which $38 for 3 oz of product. I was very lucky to have received two of these from the brand over the years. Ole Henriksen claims this cooling mask insta rly reduces the look of pores, smooths skin texture, and controls oil all day. While this mask is really cool with its blue tint I also didn’t see any results with this. It does have a cooling feeing which is cool but I’d rather not have that because it’s due to the peppermint oil in it which I’d rather not have on my face (it can be sensitizing). I was hoping it would have an affect on my large pores and super oily skin but it really did nothing for me so I’d consider this a hard pass. All masks I used once a week at night time for about 10-15 minutes.

Would’ve been nice without fragrance 🤷🏼‍♀️
DISCLAIMER- The above pictures are stock from StriVectin’s website. I do not have my own pictures if this product due to it being a sample size and I honestly wasn’t going to review this product. In the winter I experience very dry skin, especially when the temperatures are a day time high of low 20s and night time temps of single digits. No matter how many hydrating cleansers, moisturizers, and squalene products I use my skin is skill very dry and flaky. Going though my products I found that I had a sample size of the StriVectin Cloud Berry Plumping Cream Mask. I thought why not give it a shot! What is it? A replenishing mask that is powered with Cloudberry, Prickly Pair extract, and Hyaluronic Acid to deliver intense moisture and promote lasting hydration What does it do? Instantly hydrates and promotes long lasting-moisture Visibly plump skin with moisture and soften fine lines Leave skin soft, smooth, and radiant Improves the appearance of dryness, fine lines, and dullness. How it Works 1. Apply a generous layer to clean, dry skin 2. Leave on for at least 15-20 minutes, allowing the product to absorb 3. Rinse with water or past off excess with a warm, wet cloth 4. For best results use 2-3 times per week My Thoughts StriVectin - Cloudberry Moisture Plumping Cream Mask This mask did leave my skin hydrated, moisturized, and plump like that product said it would. My forehead was still a little dry and flaky after using the mask, but the rest of my face was left moisturized. What I did not like about this mask is that is has fragrance!! I was dumb and didn’t check the ingredients and just slathered the mask in my face. I instantly noticed a very fragrant smell. I probably should’ve took the mask off right away but, instead I was being selfish and kept it on for the recommended 20 minutes to moisturize my deprived skin. If this product did not have fragrance, I would have probably caved in at some point and payed the $48 for the full size.

hey ladies! just wondering if anyone has any tips in regards to masking after using the The Ordinary - AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution ? I have the StriVectin - Cloudberry Moisture Plumping Cream Mask and I LOVE IT! But I've never used it after peeling. I usually just go with my serums post-peel. anyone use a moisturizing mask after exfoliating? good idea? or just go with serums? I usually use The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% . any recos appreciated! thx gals ✌️😘

Why you should choose chemical exfoliation 🖤
Exfoliation is such an important, and sometimes over looked part of a skincare routine. You need to get rid of the dead skin cells in order for the new, fresh ones to shine through. You also want to eliminate any spaces for sebum to hide under which is turn clogs the follicle and results in acne. 9 times out of 10 I will always recommend a chemical exfoliator. Unlike physical exfoliators, which use scrubs to slough off the dead skin, chemical exfoliator use acids or enzymes to loosen the bonds between cells so they can easily be washed away. Physical exfoliators often contain harsh ingredients, like walnut shell powder, that can create micro tears in the skin. It’s also very easy to go overboard with. With a chemical exfoliator as long as you’re using it properly they are a lot gentler. I have oily skin so I prefer glycolic acid (if you have dry you might prefer lactic acid). I always exfoliate my face once a week with glycolic acid. My personal favorite right now is the StriVectin - Glycolic Skin Reset Mask . After cleansing my skin I apply the mask and leave on for 5 minutes at least once a week. With this mask my skin always feels a lot smoother afterwards. I’ve seen a good reduction in the texture of my skin. Exfoliating once a week will help your skincare work even better since it doesn’t have layers of dead skin to go through. It helps those with acne prone skin because you don’t have places for sebum to get trapped and it will also help even out any post acne hyperpigmentation. If you’re just wanting to get into chemical exfoliating I would definitely do research on it first. Always do a patch test to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction and work your way up to it slowly. Always follow the directions as well so you don’t burn your face. I say do it once a week and see how your skin feels because there is such a thing as too much exfoliation. Also, when you do exfoliate don’t put anything harsh on the skin afterwards as it’s going to penetrate deeper than it normally would with the fresh skin.

Why You Should Be Exfoliating Once a Week 🖤
Exfoliation is the process where we remove dead skin from the surface of our skin. It is so important to remove these dead skin cells so they don’t build up. If they do it’s very easy for sebum to get trapped underneath without being able to escape which in turn causes break outs. It also creates a barrier where your products don’t properly penetrate the skin making them less effective than they could be. I have oily yet dehydrated acne prone skin so my favorite way to exfoliate is to use Glycolic Acid. It is an AHA which helps loosen up the bonds that keep dead skin cells on the face. It also has the ability to really get down in the follicle and loosen up any built up sebum that could lead to break outs making it great for oily or acne prone skin. So far my favorite product with this ingredient is the StriVectin - Glycolic Skin Reset Mask . It’s really pricy at $59 but I’ve seen really good results using this weekly. ALWAYS read the instructions on the back when working with acids. I only leave this mask on for 5 minutes once a week. The first time I used this it felt a little uncomfortable but it’s something your skin has to get used to if you’re new to acids (I would also always patch test when using acids). I’ve been using this weekly for months (a little goes a long way) and I barely have break outs anymore. A lot of texture has left my face and it’s super smooth. Another cheaper option is the pixi - Glow Tonic and the pixi - Glow Glycolic Boost Brightening Face Mask Sheet . This is a leave on treatment I would do after my cleanser. They advertise it for daily use but I wouldn’t purely for the fact this dried my face out if I used it daily. I did see decent results with it but it wasn’t worth the continued use. It also has a lot of fragrance as well that I’m not a fan of for leave on products. If you have sensitive skin a more gentle option is the GLOW RECIPE - Watermelon + AHA Glow Sleeping Mask . I absolutely love this for night time. If you have oily skin like me you can get away with using this as your moisturizer. If you don’t and still want to use it I would recommend this be the last step before your moisturizer so it can still penetrate the skin and your moisturizer locks the product in. It’s a very unique textured gel moisturizer. For me personally it doesn’t feel sticky or tacky once it’s absorbed but you do have to work the product in til it is absorbed. It’s super gentle and can be used nightly. It does have fragrance (which smells like amazing jolly ranchers) but with its Clean At Sephora seal it has less than 1% fragrance which I’m okay with unlike the Pixi Toner. There are definitely other exfoliating acids out there (like lactic or malic) but for oily, acne prone skin I prefer glycolic. If you have any questions about acids please let me know 🖤 and always patch test before you use them as well as read the instructions!

Worth Every Penny
I have been a FIRM believer in Neutrogena Hydro Boost. But recently, I got a sample of this little gift from the heavens! It is the most lightweight moisturizer! The only way that I can describe my face after is that it feels like a cloud. It takes such a small amount to cover my face that it makes the price tag worth it. I am combination with severe maskne so I was skeptical of anything TOO hydrating. It is literally the perfect amount and makes my primer go on flawlessly. The only bad thing that I have to say is that now I’m stuck with another expense when I run out 🤣🤣🤣StriVectin - Re-Quench Water Cream Hyaluronic + Electrolyte Moisturizer

Love the cream but why so much packaging :(
StriVectin - Re-Quench Water Cream Hyaluronic + Electrolyte Moisturizer I bought this cream at Shoppers Drug Mart cause it got good reviews. I wanted a lightweight cream for the summer and this one is really nice. I like the feeling of it and how it smells even thought the fragrance is a lil strong. It also has hyaluronic acid in it which is my fave. But why does the jar have to be such thick plastic... I feel like I paid more for the container then the cream. In the pictures I’ve already used like half the cream but you can see how chunky the container is. Even though the cream is nice idk if I’d ever buy it again cause the packaging is so unnecessary!! (Btw it came in a box so I didn’t see the cream container when I bought it) Update: not safe for fungal acne

Moisturizer barrier protection
Although I have oily skin, it’s also important to moisturize it especially during winter. Having dry skin can be a cause of acne. Dry skin also makes your makeup look dull. Dry skin also accompanies larger pores. And so it’s really important to make sure your skin’s moisture barrier is at a healthy state. I depend on StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks during the winter to moisturize my face. It’s a very thick cream so a little goes a long way. It not only hydrated but also prevent wrinkles as well. Bring this moisturizer down your neck as well because first signs of aging can be seen at your neck.

Forehead wrinkles and pores.
My forehead is the part of my face that shows age the most. I’ve always wrinkled my forehead but the wrinkles only became noticeable in the past year. The top picture was taken in May and the bottom picture in December. When it comes to skincare, I tend to play the long game. I rarely see instant results so I like to give products some time to work. Overall, I’ve noticed that my forehead wrinkles are less noticeable, my pores are less visible and my skin looks healthier and brighter. SEPHORA COLLECTION - Ultra Glow Serum: Glow + Strengthen Vitamin C SerumI started using this serum in the mornings under my moisturizer in May. I found this serum to be devoid of any weird smells, lightweight and almost watery in texture. My skin absorbs the serum right up and it doesn’t feel oily or sticky afterward. My only issue with this formula is that it comes in a clear bottle. Everything I’ve read says Vitamin C degrades with light. I hope Sephora figured out how to keep the serum stable in a clear bottle but I wasn’t sure so I kept it inside the box to minimize light exposure. Has anyone contacted Sephora about this? I didn’t see this addressed on the product’s page. StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch MarksI usually follow up the Vitamin C serum with this Moisturizing Concentrate every morning. I also use this concentrate in the evening. The formula is creamy but thicker than other moisturizers I’ve used in the past. It leaves my skin feeling very moisturized. I only use a little bit because my skin won’t absorb all of it if I apply too much. LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30I finish my morning routine with this moisturizer because my skin loves it! I don’t get breakouts from this formula and it has SPF. A definite AM winner. I’m keeping the StriVectin and the La Roche-Posay products but I’m trying a new Vitamin C serum that has better packaging.

Late October Haul 🎃
This month I decided to treat myself to a little haul! The above products were purchased from Sephora and Amazon. Some of these products I’ve had my eye on for months, while others I compulsively bought! On the second slide are all of the sample products that were kindly supplied by Sephora 🙂 Sephora: PAT McGRATH LABS - Eye Ecstasy Duo: I bough these pallets out of compulsion. I only own one pallet which is the URBAN DECAY - Naked Ultimate Basics Eyeshadow Palette. I really want to start incorporating makeup into my feed, so I went on the hunt for a new pallet. I was able to get both of these pallets for $14 each instead of $28 each. That’s a steal for me! I cannot wait to dip into the Sublime pallet! DRUNK ELEPHANT - E-Rase Milki Micellar Water: Getting back into makeup I knew I needed a makeup remover. Just about everyone I know uses Micellar Water no matter what brand. I decided to go with the Drunk Elephant because I have seen so many product reviews with mixed emotions, so I wanted to try this brand out for myself! Kate Somerville - EradiKate Acne Treatment: This is another product I’ve had my eye on for months! I have seen many reviews of this product and so far everyone has loved it. I can’t wait to give this product a shot tonight after a much needed shower! Review for this product to come very soon! Not pictured: SEPHORA COLLECTION - Makeup Match Highlight Brush Samples: LANCÔME - Bi-Facil Double-Action Eye Makeup Remover Dr Dennis Gross - Dr Dennis Gross Extra Strength Alpha Beta Peel Original belif - The True Cream Aqua Bomb IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo KVD VEGAN BEAUTY - Tatoo Liner in Trooper Deluxe Sample laura mercier - Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation Milk MAKEUP - Hydro Grip Primer CAUDALIE - Vinopure Skin Perfecting Serum GUCCI - Free Bloom Eau de Parfum Deluxe Sample Amazon: StriVectin - Daily Reveal Exfoliating Pads: I saw that StriVectin just recent came out with these. I was quick to purchase these because I have been looking for a product that I can carry with me at all times and quickly use during the day when my face is super oily while I’m out and about! I was originally using the OXY - Acne Medication Deep Pore Cleansing Pads, but the ingredients aren’t great for the skin at all! So I am super hyped to find a much more healthier alternative! Rael - Miracle Ratch: I originally found these on Instagram. I have been on the market for acne patches for sometime. My local target didn’t have any in stock, so I took to the internet. When I found these I looked up reviews, and every single one was positive. I cannot wait to try these!

How to decrease irritation from acids & retinol
With acids and retinols being so popular on the market today it can be very easy to be overwhelmed. It’s also just as easy to jump in head (face) first and start putting everything on your face at once. Stop! As tempting as that is don’t do that. This can turn into flaking, peeling, redness, and all around irritation. Here are some steps to remember when using acids and retinol: 1.) Don’t overuse them I’m super guilty of this myself. I tend to want to pile everything on and this can actually hurt your skin rather than help it. Best case scenario you dry your skin out which is going to hurt your moisture barrier. Worst case scenario your skin gets irritated, peely, and all around not happy. This isn’t always the case with acids so please don’t be scared. Just remember you need to introduce one into your routine at a time (to properly see how your skin reacts and not to risk irritation) and work your way up to using the product. Try once a week and then once your skin gets used to the product you can up it to twice a week, then three times a week etc. When it comes to acids and retinol the slow race always wins. Also, if you need to dilute the product because it is too strong that’s okay and an option to! You can always mix the acid in with a moisturizer or oil to dilute it some. 2.) Always pair with hydrating ingredients Acids exfoliate the skin while retinol helps with skin turn over. In order to prevent your skin from being stripped and ruining your moisture barrier you need to pair it with hydrating ingredients. You’re going to want to look for products with ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, panthenol, ceramides etc. I also really like producers with colloidal oatlmean and cannabis sativa oil for soothing and hydration. Something I am always repeating to my sister is “if you cleanse your face you have to moisturize”. The same goes for acids. If you use acids you have to pair it with hydrating and moisturizing products. The e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Creamis a good option at the drugstore for a good moisturizer to pair with acids or retinol that’s easily accessible. 3.) USE SUNSCREEN!!! Acids and retinol make your skin more photo sensitive to the sun. That means your face is more prone (which it’s always prone to UV damage so sunscreen should already be a must) to UV damage. Minimizing sun exposure and using a sunscreen with SPF 30+ can help prevent irritation (and premature aging). Currently I’m using the KINSHIP - Self Reflect Probiotic Moisturzing Sunscreen Zinc Oxide SPF 32 . These are all tips I’ve picked up from Skincare by Hyram on YouTube. I’ve been watching him for a couple months now and his views on skincare mirror my own. It’s almost like I’m looking in a mirror sometimes when I watch his videos. He has such a vast knowledge of skincare and he can break it down and explain it in a way where everyone understands. I highly recommend everyone go follow him. 🖤

🌟NEW✨ StriVectin Retinol Serum
☀️ this product is so new that I had to add it to Cherie myself! it’s a new vitamin C anti-aging serum from StriVectin which contains retinol. ✨ first impressions of StriVectin - Super-C Retinol Brighten & Correct Vitamin C Serum - color: it is a gorgeous orange color, that sort of glows through the dropper. I love the pictures I got of it - texture: watery serum, not gloopy and also not too runny 5/5 - scent: wow, this product smells good… Because it has fragrance. If you have sensitive skin this is probably not for you but it really does smell fresh and floral 3/5 - price: $72 for 1oz, which is normal for Strivectin products but more than i usually like to pay ✨ active ingredients - retinol: a weak form of retinoid that increases the speed of skin cell death and Rick Ross, making it very good for anti-aging - vitamin C: A powerful antioxidant that prevents the extra creation of melanin

Is StriVectin Going To Hollywood?
Is StriVectin going to Hollywood? That’s gonna be a no from me, dawg. As usual, I wanted to like this. Hell, I NEEDED to like this! I spent about $70 on StriVectin - Tightening Neck Serum Roller and $95 on StriVectin - TL Advanced Light Tightening Neck Cream . I had waited for my paycheck. I looked around for the best deals. I was so ready. 🔥 My neck hated it. Neck skin seems to be delicate. While my inner neck turned red, patchy, irritated, itchy and dry, my décolletage and shoulders were mostly fine. 🗣 StriVectin boasts firming effects and the softening of wrinkles. While that may or may not be true, I will probably never know for myself. 😡 What Did StriVectin (Probably) Do Wrong: -FRAGRANCE! Skincare products should NEVER contain artificial fragrance, added fragrance (natural or not) and/or essential oils. Ever. Fragrance can be bothersome, unpleasant and migraine inducing for those with sensitive noses. They can also cause irritation and/or allergic reaction. And to make matters worse, by using a product with synthetic fragrance or essential oils, over time you can DEVELOP AN ALLERGY TO *NOT ONLY* THE FRAGRANCE BUT ALSO OTHER INGREDIENTS WITHIN THAT SPECIFIC PRODUCT! If you’re unsure why that is a problem, what it means is that, say you ditch the lavender product that was causing an allergic reaction and go for something unscented. While that was a good choice, you may end up also being allergic to (insert chemical/acid/etc here) because it was also in your past lavender product. I am not an expert or dermatologist, but I did learn that from Dr. Dray, a no-nonsense dermatologist who does YouTube videos on skincare and skincare products. 😬 Things I May Have Done Wrong: -Not working up to it slowly (moisturizer first, then one cream) or using it every day instead of a few times a week. -Layering it with other potent products (like retinol on one night and AHA/BHA on the next) -Not waiting until my irritated skin was TOTALLY healed. So would I recommend these products? No. ESPECIALLY if you have sensitive skin.

Texture Tuesday 🖤💎
Texture Tuesday 🖤💎
Happy Texture Tuesday with one of my favorite skincare brands, @strivectin 💕 Their Multi-Action Restorative Cream is probably one of my ultimate moisturizers for winter. Winter has caused such a shift in my skin to be severely dry so I’ve been using this at night to combat that. It has a light weight, silky cream texture that is perfect for those with dry skin. It’s advertised to fight 12 signs of aging but I love it most for its texture and hydrating properties. 🖤

Old vs New: Moisturizers 🖤
Old vs New: Moisturizers 🖤
Moisturizer is such a must!! It doesn’t matter what skin type you have, you always have to use a moisturizer! A rule of thumb is cream moisturizers work best for dry skin while gel typically work best for oily skin. That being said there are a few exceptions. For me that one exception was the StriVectin - SD Advanced Plus Intensive Moisturizing Concentrate For Wrinkles & Stretch Marks This by far was one of my favorite moisturizers I’ve used. I was lucky enough to win it in a giveaway because a 2 oz bottle costs $79. Strivectin claims this stretch mark cream turned anti-wrinkle moisturizer will provide 72 hours of hydration, while reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and improving skins texture. Now I’m 24, I know I don’t have many wrinkles to correct but what this did do was help smooth out my skin a lot. I’ve noticed how soft, smooth, and hydrated my skin does feel after using it. It’s a cream formula so I mainly use this at night but it isn’t heavy on the skin nor make me super oily. I do think it’s improved the elasticity of my skin as well. Purely for the price and the fact I have way too many moisturizers in my stock pile I did not repurchase. My new moisturizer is one I’ve used before but it is one I enjoy. The FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair BarriAIR Cream Safe for Sensitive Skin has a texture that I’ve never felt before! When you open the jar the product inside is bubbles but underneath is the actual product. It’s almost like a gel cream hybrid that feels light as air on the skin. It can feel a little slimy at first so I don’t think this is for everyone but once you work in the product it feels light as air on the skin. It feels very hydrating and nourishing. I also really appreciate the fact it is fragrance free!! I really like this because I feel like it helps my skin barrier which is always a little dehydrated and damaged. Both have very different textures but work so well for my oily skin. If you have more dry skin and the money to spend (or more mature skin) I would completely recommend the Strivectin. If you’re looking for a cheaper option or have oily skin you might really love the lightweight hydration the First Aid Beauty. 🖤 What are some of your favorite moisturizers?

Clay Masks for Oily Skin; Pass or Grab?

Best Mask I Have Ever Used
Best Mask I Have Ever Used
So happy to have one of my favorite masks with me while I do this. The @strivectin Blue Clay Renewal Mask has quickly become a weekly ritual. It’s a white mask that has blue algae balls within that while you massage turn it blue. This mask targets anti-aging, skin fatigue, and dullness. It also helps the look of fine lines, enlarged pores, and rough texture. All of which are things my poor skin is going through right now. A little goes a long way so this jar will last me a while. When it dries down to draw out impurities it doesn’t crack like most clay masks do thanks to the white clay and shea butter combination. For this reason I feel like all skin types, not just my oily skin, would benefit from/like this mask. When I wash it off my skin always feels instantly smoother and more hydrated. It has five star reviews on Ulta’s website and it is something I do see myself repurchasing in the future. 🖤

How fun is this color-changing clay mask?! In the video, you can see that I’ve already applied the mask to one side of my face and it appears bright blue. On the other side, you see me massaging it in and the color changing. This mask provides a bit of brightening and leaves my skin feeling soft, but ultimately I don’t think I would pay for a full size because it’s quite pricey and doesn’t wow me. I’d rather get coal than...this glow toner
I’d rather get coal than...this glow toner
{What is it?} A 3in1 daily toner formulated to smooth, hydrate & brighten from within your skin. Has mandelic, lactic & hyaluronic acids to gently exfoliate while resetting skins PH. {Who is it for?} All skin types {Texture/Consistency?} I personally feel it is very oily {My thoughts?} I’d rather get coal than this toner! the smell is so unbearable for me I can’t get over it! Plus this made my sensitive skin break out and become irritated. I didn’t like this at all! It also didnt feel hydrating or make my skin glowy, more just oily and congested. I didn’t feel it exfoliated my skin either. Just kind of sat on top of it {Would I recommend?} No personally I wouldn’t, it didn’t work and the smell is so bad to me so I’m not sure if it would be for others too. It is $39.00USD for 5 OZ so it isn’t the best priced in my opinion. The product was just not worth it to me, glad I only got the mini versions of Strivectin! Glad this won’t be in my stocking this year. StriVectin - Tri-Phase Daily Glow Toner
