CeraVe SA Cleanser (How I Used For Results)✨✨
I bought this cleanser about a month ago now. I was skeptical but being drugstore friendly (affordable) I wanted to try it! This Cleanser: CeraVe - Salicylic Acid Facial Cleanser Highlights: ✨SA=Salicylic Acid: BHA CREW ! This is a HG ingredient for treating acne! Its made from willow bark (bark from willow trees used in medicine since forever) and has many healing properties. This ingredient is “oil-soluble”, which means it’ll penetrate your skin lipid barrier (sorry I love science). This penetrates your skin and absorbs oil & dirt, as wells as, exfoliates. ✨Fragrence free: for my sensitive skin lovelies ✨Vitamin D: great for age prevention, antimicrobial, antibiotic, & anti—inflammatory (all great for acne) ✨Non-Comedogenic: doesn’t clog pores. How I use: Having combo skin, my oily zones loved this BUT my dryer cheek areas was dryer than the Sahara desert! This product works, so to find a way to make it effective all over my face, I decided to double cleanse, but with another cleanser. Before going in with this cleanser, I use either: CeraVe - Hydrating Face Cleanser For Normal To Dry Skin OR NOW PLANT APOTHECARY - Wash Your Face Certified Organic Aloe Face Wash This tend to leave my skin more hydrated than other cleansers and prep my skin with anti-inflammatory ingredients (plus it gets the dirts and oils amazingly) I then follow with this cleanser! I let this cleanser sit on my face similar to a mask for 30-60 secs! I find that SA in a cleanser is kind of diluted (as wash off products are no where as strong as topical) so this is very helpful! I then follow with a hydrating toner PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Is my go to at night! I treat my acne at night and I’m with so many harsh ingredients this is the PERFECT skin balancer 🥰 Follow with the rest of my routine.

Disappointing 😔
I was really looking forward to it since it has a bunch of oils and I wanted it to be a first step in a double cleanse. . . Unfortunately, this cleanser isn’t for me. Firstly, the scent of lemongrass is extremely overwhelming, and made me quite nauseous in fact. Secondly, this was quite difficult to wash off and left a film, this wasn’t that big of a deal breaker since I was going to use this as the first step of my double cleanse. But, this didn’t do a good job of removing makeup as I imagined it would (that’s ok, it’s not marketed as a makeup remover). The last straw unfortunately was how tight and dry this left me skin feeling. It also contains essential oils. It’s really too bad, I wanted this to work. . . I really appreciate the clean direction that plant apothecary has. The ingredients are biodegradable and there are no preservatives (means a very short shelf life). I do appreciate that the clean beauty movement is about reducing harmful ingredients but I don’t agree with removing “chemicals” all together because...everything is a chemical lol Water is a chemical. . . Anywho, I was really hopeful for this product as it retails for $16 however I will be passing this along.

Matcha Love
Let me just say that not only do I LOVE face masks... but when you get to mix your own masks.. it’s so much better. I really enjoyed this Matcha face mask by Plant Apothecary simply because the matcha scent is such a subtle but still yummy scent and the fact that I can make my mask formula as thick or thin as I like it!!! It feels soo soothing on the skin... gentle enough for even the sensitive skin types! It does dry on the face and it tightens up upon drying... but after you wash it off it leaves your skin so calming and silky smooth. If you love to mix your own masks... and your a matcha fan like me, you need this mask in your life too!!! PLANT APOTHECARY - Matcha Antioxidant Face Mask

Plant Apothecary Matcha Antioxidant Face Mask
Gifted to me by Plant Apothecary 🍵 Matcha Organic Antioxidant Face Mask 🍵Available at Ulta Beauty https://www.octoly.com/c/hbwv1/r/hb5dm 🍵What is it? A purifying and antioxidant rich clay mask 🍵Call Outs: Free of: Parabens, Sulfates, Pthalates, Silicone, Gluten, GMOs, Alcohol, and Fragrance Cruelty Free Vegan Certified Organic Minimal ingredients 🍵Who’s it for? Suitable for all skin types. Great for anyone with oiliness, congestion, or dullness, redness, acne, or irritation. 🍵What’s in it? The ingredients list on the product is super minimal (👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻) it contains purifying kaolin clay, antioxidant rich matcha tea powder, and soothing chamomile oil and that’s literally it. 🍵My thoughts? I love that this mask comes in a powder which increases the shelf life of the product and you get to mix it yourself which is always fun. I love the ethics of the brand and this minimal, straight forward, skin friendly ingredients list. The mask itself is a thinner consistency than some mud masks I’ve tried (which I guess could depend on the amount of water you use), it smells like matcha (shocking I know), and it dries down within ten minutes or so without feeling too tight or uncomfortable. I didn’t notice a huge difference in my skin after using this product but I think I would enjoy it more in the summer when I’m more on the oily side or when I’m having one of my fun bouts of puberty at 30 years old. Thank you so much to Plant Apothecary for gifting me this mask to try 💚

setting sprays: one empty one newbie
So after finishing the whole bottle of CAUDALIE - Limited Edition Beauty Elixir , I decided to not repurchase it and instead starting using the PLANT APOTHECARY - Re: Fresh Organic Toning Facial Mist ! They were both gifted to me by the brands. I did not repurchase the Caudalie spray because it was irritating and contained too many essential oils. Product Claims: — caudalie: toning mist to tighten pores and set makeup, provides radiance — PA: hydrate and nourish skin, good for skincare or setting makeup Key Ingredients: — caudalie: mint oil, rose extract, alcohol, Rosemary essential oil, benzion and myrrh — PA: cucumber, rosewater, aloe Vera, lemongrass, witch hazel Price: — caudalie: $49 — PA: $15 Overall thoughts: — caudalie: an overhyped, overpriced mist. This is technically supposed to be used in your skincare routine but it is far too irritating and drying for me to use it that way. Has alcohol really high on the list & a lot of essential oils that irritate my skin. Did a fine job of setting my makeup, but would sting my eyes occasionally. The mist was really fine and hard to cover a wide area without many sprays. — PA: lightweight, and beautiful cucumber scent. Doesn’t irritate my skin at all and gives my makeup a nice glow. A medium fine mist and covers my skin easily and well. Makes me feel refreshed throughout the day if I need to refresh my makeup, and I love using this in my skincare routines too for extra hydration! I will for sure repurchase the Plant Apothecary mist!

pre + post Halloween-Makeup skincare routine
Hi!! With halloween around the corner and face paints and heavy makeup inevitable, I wanted to share some products that I think would be helpful to making sure your skin stays safe and protected under makeup, and things to do post makeup to minimize irritation and acne. Besides your normal routine, here are some things you can add! Obviously I don’t suggest adding all these things in one day, but if you have some of these and you know they work for you, try it out! My skin type: sensitive, acne-prone, rosacea, combo My skin concern: redness, hyperpigmentation Pre Halloween Skincare: + FARMACY - Honey Potion Renewing Antioxidant Hydration Mask this is one of my favorite hydrating masks; it has a warming effect and it’s very healing. The antioxidants can protect from free radicals and provide a quick moisture barrier recovery. Use it very lightly and it washes off SO well. Smells a bit like honey. + FARMACY - Deep Sweep this toner is absolutely heavenly, it’s great for preparing your skin for incoming acne and clearing up oily skin and extra sebum. Not a lot of fragrance, which is great. This is perfect for halloween because salicylic acid is a bit photosensitive, but at night time there and under masks there is very little that could go wrong in that sense. + romer - romer Treat this product is fairly new to me, but I am very excited about it. It’s a moisturizer/treatment combo, so you can leave it on or wash it off as a mask. I prefer to leave it on; it’s very soothing and rich, so it hydrates my skin so well. Smells very fresh and also a bit like fruit! It’s made with niacinamide and prickly pear, so it’s nourishing as well as a little clarifying. Post Halloween Skincare: + PLANT APOTHECARY - Not A Spot Acne Treatment Mask you know how you can FEEL acne coming after a long day of wearing makeup or sweating or whatever? This mask is perfect for it! I usually use this as a spot treatment unless my skin is really bad - it can be drying on normal or dry skin. If you’re oily or combo, just use sparingly. It’s a powder so you have to follow the directions and mix it with water (or your favorite serum or essence or toner), I usually just do water, and then it’s like a paste! Not much of a smell, but I do like the gentleness of it. + SNP - Cicaronic Sheet Mask after acne masks or clay masks, I like to follow up with a hydrating sheet mask to soothe and calm my skin. This one is perfect - made with centella asiatica aka cica - and the sheet mask actually fits my face for the first time ever! This will add some hydration back into your skin post acne/clay mask and prep for the rest of your routine. Smells like fresh cut grass!

Acne spot treatment that im loving
This clay mask is so simple and straightforward. All you need to do is mix a teaspoonful with a little bit of water. With my hormonal acne, i get atleast 1-2 breakouts every couple of weeks. I use this as a spot treatment every time i feel a bump and it helps calm it down by drawing toxins out. Made with organic essential oil of basil and activated charcoal, it leaves my skin feeling detoxified when i use it as a face mask. It’s so easy to apply and it washes off very quickly. I make sure i moisturize afterward with my usual and i don’t notice any extra drying at all. This is $24 for 60ml on ulta and i believe this would last a while for little goes a long way. Would totally recommend. *product gifted by brand via octolyPLANT APOTHECARY - Not A Spot Acne Treatment Mask

Plant Apothecary Calm Down body wash 🌿💜
Plant Apothecary Calm Down body wash 🌿💜
One of my favorite bath products of 2019 was the PLANT APOTHECARY - Calm Down Body Wash I have the pleasure of trying minis from the brand which spiraled into me buying full sizes of the product. It has a really nice gel consistency that lathers really well. A little goes a really long way! If you like more herbal smells you’re really going to like these. This one smells more like lavender which is really relaxing after a long day. It smooths over the skin and just envelops you in the scent. It doesn’t strip the skin either. I’ve never come out of the shower feeling like I /needed lotion after using this (though I still would just in general!) I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for a good body wash! For their organic ingredients and wonderful smell I think it’s completely worth it.

Wash Your Face Certified Organic Aloe Face Wash
PLANT APOTHECARY-Wash Your Face Certified Organic Aloe Face Wash
Relaxing night shower!
Relaxing night shower!
I loved every bit of this body wash. Small amount goes a long way. It has a nice ginger scent to it which is not over powering. The scent did a really good job at taking away all the stress at the end of the day and helped in getting that immediate relaxed feeling. O would definitely repurchase this product. This bottle lasted with over 3 months and I guess that is money well spent. It comes in two sizes. There is a smaller size which costs $7 and the bigger one (this one) cost $18. The best part is it is cruelty free, gulten free and vegan. Also certified organic. PLANT APOTHECARY - Calm Down Body Wash
