Lumilayer primer? YES please!
Did you know this brands trademark Lumilayer Prismatic Pearls are made with red and blue pigments that emit a violet sheen for lit up radiance? PRODUCT: This is a lightweight, glow-enhancing lumilayer primer for a glass-like skin finish. MY THOUGHTS: I’ve been using this primer for a few weeks now and I think it’s about to replace my old one. I’ve never used a lumilayer primer before so I was a bit skeptical but I absolutely love how flawless it makes my makeup look! Its not overwhelming at all. It’s super lightweight which I love and it absorbs quickly into my skin. It has a mild hint of shimmer which adds the perfect glow! It also keeps my skin hydrated unlike some other primers. I highly recommend this primer, it’s the perfect base for makeup! -My only issue with this product is the packaging it comes in. Though I LOVE and appreciate the fact that it comes in glass packaging, it’s extremely hard to get the product out of the bottle. SIDE NOTE: ✨I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

NEW PRODUCTS!
I used new items and decided to post on insta!! (@jenna.e.brewer 😉) Let’s see how they all did 🙃 ⭐️VDL - Lumilayer Primer IM IN LOVE! from ipsy, so i didn’t know what to expect. but it gives a purple tinted glow, and i’m obsessed! i decided to not wear foundation today, and it still looked amazing! would i recommend? YES 👜 ⭐️MAYBELLINE - Fit Me Concealer OH MY GOD IM ADDICTED!!! i this is literally a blessing from above. blends seamlessly and covers up everything i need it to. what could i ask more of it! would i recommend? YES 👜 ⭐️tarte - Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder This is great, but when i used the front flash, it gave a tiny bit of flashback. super mattifying and makes concealer and skin look smooth, but be careful with how much you use. would i recommend? maybe try a travel size first to see if it works for you 🤷‍♀️ ⭐️Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color Another favorite of mine. you can’t go wrong with it. buildable, natural, and not shiny like other blushes i’ve tried. i was skeptical because it is a cream blush, but i love it! would i recommend? YES 👜 ⭐️eyeko - Lash Alert Caffeine Curl Mascara Made my lashes look amazing, but felt a bit drying on my lashes. other than that, it’s good for top lashes. not as good for bottom lashes because of the wand would i recommend? no 🗑 ⭐️Glossier. - Boy Brow Love everything about this but the color. it’s a little darker than my brows, so i have to put a powder over then to make it look more natural. also, you’ll need an extra spoolie to brush this product through your brows. would i recommend? yes 👜 ⭐️Glossier. - Glossier. Lip Gloss love how glossy this is, and it’s not super sticky! nothing else i need from a gloss! would i recommend? YES 👜 ⭐️MAYBELLINE - FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter Super blinding and looks great on tons of different skin tones! i had to be careful over problem areas because it makes them stand out a lot, but it’s a highlighter. what can you expect. would i recommend? yes 👜

Did I find the best primer dupe? 🤔
I think I did 😳 Hear me out, I love the VDL - Lumilayer Primer Fresh but, it’s esspensive! I love the finish it leaves on the skin, it’s a beautiful hydrating primer that looks gorgeous on many different skin tones but can definitely look too shimmery if you accidentally apply too much. I recently found the essence - Fresh & Fit Awake Primer and it is AMAZING. It’s definitely a little bit thicker than the VDL primer, but it’s more luminous rather than shimmery and just as the VDL can be worn with or without makeup. As you can see in the last slide they look pretty similar when swatched side to side! The VDL primer is $32 for 1.01 oz and the Essence primer is $5.99, so price wise I think we have a clear winner. Have you tried either of these primers? :)

Get Glass Skin with VDL Lumilayer Fresh Primer
This primer is my holy grail that gives my skin a beautiful lit from within glow without looking glittery. It makes it seem like I sleep the recommended 8 hours a day daily and also have the most hydrated skin ever! The Lumilayer original is popular but that one has cool toned violet and blue pearl pigments in it since these also double as color correctors. The fresh version of the VDL primer is better suited for those of us with a warm under tone since this primer has golden and peach pearl pigments instead. This primer is great for those with combo to dry skin or normal skin. I do think that this may make oily skin types look oilier. The primer also has a light scent so it does have some fragrance in it and it hasn’t broken me out perhaps sensitive skin types may not be suited for this primer. You can also use this on top of your foundations for a more wet and natural looking highlight.

VDL x Pantone collaboration is inspired by the colour of the year 2019 - Living Coral. I already knew that VDL makes great makeup products so I've decided to risk a little bit and order the lightest shade. Turns out that... I found an ideal cushion! The shade fits me almost ideal, the coverage is really good, it's creamy, well-pigmented and it gives my skin the glow that I wanted so much. The formula sticks to my face well, it doesn't transfer as much as other cushions I used like April Skin, it's lightweight and it has a nice scent but I guess for some people the scent might be the problem. I like cushions because you can put it in a bag and use during the day. Oily skin should like it but guess that it might work for dry skin too since it feels like a moistful formula without any oiliness. VDL Pantone Expert Tone-Up Cushion contains additional refill so you don't need to buy a new cushion.

Tonymoly Back Gel Eyeliner I always had a huge problem with eyeliner because half of my eyelid is hidden under the brow and I've got eyelid that naturally allows me to do puppy eyes but winged eyeliner took me ages to learn how to do it. Tonymoly eyeliner has a thin brush which is easy to use, I'm aware that if you're novice then this form of the brush can be hard to use but personally I prefer brushes over a pen or liquid formulas, this one is more like a matte gel, thin brush makes it easier to apply the eyeliner without a chance that it'll cover my entire eyelid. I encourage you to use eyeshadow in beige or white colour as a base on the eyelid so the eyeliner won't transfer - that's the worst thing for me because I've got straight eyelashes so my neighbours used to call me panda because of my makeup. I didn't have any allergic reactions, I can easily wear it with my contact lenses on and the most important - it doesn't make me cry. On the 2nd photo, I used it with VDL cushion (Pantone 2019 edition) and Moonshot Honey Coverlet Palette (shades Antique Rug mixed with Cinnamon Milk Tea + Sweet Candle) - you can find both on Jolse. I didn't use any eyeshadow base/primer so the colours aren't intensive. The eyeliner costs $7.66 and it's the best choice I've ever made with eyeliner, it's really worth to spend this amount.

Bitti x Colorpop Candy Button Palette + Swatches
I have to say that I am really enjoying this palette and the color story! Although I’m not the biggest fan of the pressed glitters I can make them work with my NYX - Glitter Primer which I break out of my makeup storage drawer when I use pressed glitters. I only use the finest amount. Of the glitters since I’m not keen on getting them in my eyes. All of the shadows apply nicely on my primed eyes with either the NYX - Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer or the VDL - Expert Color Primer For Eyes which are my two favorites and are affordable as a plus and they hold up great through out the day. I thought at first since Pony is lighter skinned they wouldn’t work with my medium skin but they still worked great! The shade Hubba Bubba was a bit disappointing... I would have loved to see a bright bubble gum pink for that name but that exact shade I found it to be a bit patchy and I don’t really experience that with the other shades. The shimmer shade is absolutely beautiful and very buttery. They apply nicely with my brushes and with my fingers and blend nicely with a fluffy brush. I have found little to no kickback on these and the pigmentation is definitely there! I also really appreciate that the packaging has a mirror on it! The other Colourpop palettes I have don’t have one so having that mirror there is a nice change! The last picture is my attempt at taking a picture of a look I created with this palette. I purchased the entire Bitti collection and will be reviewing the products soon so please keep an eye out on those reviews ☺️

VDL’s Lumilayer Primer is AMAZING
VDL’s Lumilayer Primer is AMAZING
If you’re looking for that dewy skin look then you NEED this primer. It’s formulated with pearls that absorb light and use the light's ability to reflect to create an iridescent glow and translucent, glass-like skin. It’s seriously incredible. I like to use this on my high points to really add a glow under my foundation/concealer. It really makes a difference and takes your glam to the next level. VDL - Lumilayer Primer
