I NEED SKINCARE HELP!!!
Hi Im Jay! Im 18. I have been struggling with my skin since the 6th grade and nothing seems to work effectively. Im trying my best to make an efficient routine to help with all my problems, but I have so many!! I have an oily skin type, my pores are HUGE, I have so many blackheads and bumps on my nose and chin, and recently i broke out on my cheeks(I have been trying to get of it for about a couple weeks now). Plus my skin is pretty textured, and I get fine lines around my mouth.
This is the skincare routine I had before my current routine:
AM
CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser
HERITAGE STORE - Rosewater Aromatherapy Water Rose Petals
Cos De BAHA - Niacinamide 10% Serum
DIFFERIN - Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30
PM
CeraVe - SA Smoothing Cleanser
humane - Clarifying Toner (i dont think this product actually works well as a BHA exfoliatant, I saw no difference when using it)
Cos De BAHA - Niacinamide 10% Serum
Neutrogena - Oil Free Acne Moisturizer
Right now, I dont have many products but I dont want to invest without knowing what to buy.
Heres my current routine:
AM
PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength (i got this due to the acne that broke out on my cheeks)
BOTANICS - All Bright Cleansing Toner
DIFFERIN - Oil Absorbing Moisturizer SPF 30
PM
PanOxyl - Acne Foaming Wash Benzoyl Peroxide 10% Maximum Strength
BOTANICS - All Bright Cleansing Toner
Kate Somerville - Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream
if anyone knows any good affordable products, any routines or good habits or home remedies or anything that can help me out, please let me know! Id really appreciate it!!

two week progress!!
hello all! :) i’m new to skincare and have just started my skincare journey about 1 month ago or so. i have combination skin and it’s very acne prone, and afterwards the acne leaves me with dark spots that i can’t get rid of. i’d say sometimes the acne is hormonal as well.
here’s my routine:
Cleanser -
SOAP & GLORY - Face Soap And Clarity Facial Wash✨ this cleanser is really nice and refreshing! at first it might throw you off since it has a very slight cooling sensation to it but it’s nothing too noticeable and you get used to it quickly. it leaves my face feeling very clean and soft and i’ve noticed it helps my breakouts clear out faster. this cleanser says it is suitable for all skin types!
Exfoliator -
FORMULA 10.0.6 - One Smooth Operator Pore Clearing Face Scrub✨ physical exfoliators generally have a bad rep due to how stripping some of the ingredients can be. this has a nice scent to it that can be noticeable and also has a lot of exfoliating beads. i usually apply this to wet fingertips and create a lather to get it working before actually putting it on my face since putting it directly on my face first feels harsher. less is more with this!! i’d also recommend rubbing in circles gently and slowly, not too fast as it might over-strip and cause irritation. overall, it’s a nice exfoliator to start with and it does leave my face feeling very clean and matte but not squeaky like others do. i have noticed that it does help with my large pores!
Toner -
BOTANICS - All Bright Cleansing Toner✨ this toner feels very nice and refreshing once you pat it onto your skin or use a cotton pad to swipe across the face. it doesn’t leave your face feeling dry either! it feels super hydrating but not to the point where you feel oily from it. i’ve found that it does help balance out my ph levels, since i’ve noticed that my face doesn’t get as oily as it used to before. however the smell is a little bit weird and can linger for a while but as long as it’s doing its job then it doesn’t bother me.
SPF+Moisturizer -
CeraVe - AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30✨ this is a moisturizer that also has spf in it which i find super useful since i usually don’t like to take too long with my skincare and this saves me from an extra step in my skincare routine. however i find that it’s more sunscreen than actual moisturizer, so for some people i’d recommend mixing it with a lightweight moisturizer if they find its too drying. it is a bit difficult to blend in as it absorbs pretty quickly so again, i’d recommend mixing. does leave the skin a bit sticky.
PM Moisturizer -
CeraVe - Moisturizing Cream For Normal To Dry Skin✨ this lotion also works really well as a moisturizer. i use it at night and it’s very good in locking in moisture but also really lightweight! def would recommend for anyone.

FINALLY RESULTS 🥳
I’ve been working towards my skin for the past 2 years slowly trying out different products trying to find something that works for me. It’s been a long ride but cherie made the process so much quicker. In the past 6 months I’ve seen more results the in the past two years before hand! I used so many products that caused so much damage in my teenage years ( I’m 25 now) I always had acne and blackheads. And though my skin is still healing and I’m working on my dark spots and pores I couldn’t be happier for this community! Thank you everyone!
If your curious what my skin care routine is it is

NIGHT
🌙ORIGINS - Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash (also use with konjac sponge)
🌙use my homemade ACV Toner
🌙Depending what I feel my skin needs that night I switch between these three products
✨The Ordinary - Lactic Acid 10% + HA
✨THE inkey LIST - Alpha Hydroxy Acid Serum
✨THE inkey LIST - Retinol Anti-Aging Serum
🌙the ordinary niacinamide again

If you look at my page you’ll also find the masks I like to use.
Some nights I feel my skin needs a rest from all the products and I just lather on CeraVe - Renewing SA Lotion after I tone.
I always feel like my skin doesn’t always need the same thing and I personally feel like this has made the most difference in my skincare journey

SPF searching? Look no more
I have been looking so hard for a good SPF that doesn’t make my face look like an oil spill by the middle of the day. And thank goodness I finally found it.
If you’re looking for a great product that won’t break the bank or break out you skin you’ve finally found it.
I work inside and avoid sun as often as possible so spf 15 is perfect for me. Though I do wish they had a stronger moisturizer available.
It’s mattifying but so hydrating my skin feels so refreshed all day. I’m officially obsessed and you should be too

Botanics ruined my eyes
This eye roll on gave me a really bad chemical reaction when i used it. First of all, when I rolled it on, it tightened my eyes so much, under my eyes felt like the desert. Then when I woke up the next morning, around my eyes were red and raised.
If you still want to try this product , I suggest you test it on a patch of skin first to see how your skin reacts to it first 🤦🏽♀️🙍🏽♀️

In love with facial oils🍃
A couple of weeks ago I decided to look for a facial oil since I had heard that it helped with maintaining good hydration.🍃
I found this one from the Botanics brand, it says that it is 100% organic so I decided to buy it and start using it.🍃
After using it several times, my face started to look prettier, cleaner, softer and more hydrated. I love this product has given me good results, it has a very pleasant smell.🍃
I think that for a facial oil to really work you have to look for the one that suits your skin type, have good opinions and is of quality🍃

Botanics: Friend or Foe?
Botanics oils is predominantly a plant derived product made mostly from hibiscus, rosehip and lavender plants.
I’m sure that this product probably works on some of you, but this product ruined my skin when I tried it. Tired it on 2 separate days this week and last week and it caused little bumps to rise on my face and it made my face itch. Goes to show me that Botanics oils is my Foe and definitely not a friend. My sensitive and combination skin does not go well with these products so plant based oil products with Rosehip, Lavender and Hibiscus, or probably any plant causes a reaction.
If anyone uses these or used these oils, let me know how your experience went 🙃
