Skin Update ✨✨
Okay this is a totally non filtered sun photo of my skin. Still working on minor texture this is due to my new skin routine (I posted about my morning and will post my night). I try and show my skin with new routines and products I use because I get so many ! The number one thing I will say is be consistent! I saw a post from @MelaninSkinCareAddict(great post you should go check it out) and I loved it and it inspired me to show results from some advice she saw. My last skin update was 12/22 which I showed a unfiltered close up of my skin and the breakout I had endure out of the states! I will say for texture, hyperpigmentation, and acne you need: effective vitamin C serum- should have vitamin E (tocopherol), hyaluronic acid, and Ferulic acid insta natural - Vitamin C Serum Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum retinol- DIFFERIN - DIFFERIN Acne Treatment Gel is my first go to, but now I use The Ordinary - Retinol 0.5% in Squalane GLOW RECIPE - Avocado Melt Retinol Sleeping Face Mask (I use this on nights I don’t use The Ordinary retinol oil .. 2xs a week) cleanser made for you skin: should be tailored and effective my current faves: Murad - AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser (2x week) COSRX - Low PH Good Morning Gel Cleanser (only when I oil cleanse) (3xs a weeks when I wear my night mask) PEACH & LILY - Power Calm Hydrating Gel Cleanser (mostly for nights) toner: a great toner will be your friend! This is important for removing dirts and oils. If you wear makeup this is a necessity. PAULA'S CHOICE - Enriched Calming Toner Murad - Clarifying Toner innisfree - Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion sunscreen: at least spf30 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ELEMIS - Daily Defence Shield SPF30 moisturizer: a great moisturizer is your friend! So my faves fresh - Lotus Anti-Aging Night Moisturizer at night SUNDAY RILEY - Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream during the day for hyperpigmentation before sunscreen ✨✨✨✨ Other things I love that have helped COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence I use this day and night after my toner. If you neee hydration this is my current go to! SUNDAY RILEY - U.F.O. Acne Treatment Face Oil I now use this on days I don’t use my vitamin C in the morning. PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum This has replaced my niacinamide from The Ordinary. If you want glass skin use this consistently! CLARISMA - Namaste Glow Energizing Face Mask I use this as my daily face mask once a week. I will be posting my detailed night routine soon as I’m redoing my entire on IG 🥰🥰
❄️AM - WINTER ROUTINE❄️
Hey friends, With the first day of Winter (Dec 21st) quickly approaching, I wanted to talk about my morning skincare routine and what I am using right now. We get a lot of snow, and the air can be really dry where I am from so hydration, redness and sun care are my main Winter skincare focuses. The routine is really centred around maximum hydration and creating a protective barrier for the cold dry winds, coupled with having an appropriate amount of UV protection. Although the sun doesn’t feel as hot as in the summer, it’s reflection off the snow is still damaging to the skin. With redness and sun damage being one of my constants skin concerns I always make sure to have added protection on that front. Also, something I think is worth noting - When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is apply sunscreen. I don’t rinse my face or anything, just put on sunscreen straight away. I have a dog that needs to go out early in the morning and want to make sure I am protected, then I usually do a workout with my partner shortly after and then after that I do my AM routine. Tbh, I cleanse my face in the shower (I use CLARISMA - Cool Ocean Breeze Daily Cleanser). I know everyone says not too but I don’t actually take particularly hot showers plus I think it’s pretty easy to turn the temp down.. So I think it is sort of a weird blanket statement to say that it’s bad for your skin.. like sink tap water can get pretty flippin’ hot too. Then when I get out of the shower, skin still damp, I spray EARTH HARBOR - TIDAL ROSE Crystal Hydration Tonerall over my face followed by EARTH HARBOR - Celestine Hydra-Plumping Peptide Serumall while skin is damp. After that is dry I use a Vitamin C serum to help hyperpigmentation / redness and for added sun protection! I usually use Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serumor ONE LOVE ORGANICS - Botanical C Facial Serumfollowed by BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream, not everyone needs to use an eye cream but I have really bad sun damage under my eyes from when I was a kid and I find this product really helps me. Then moisturize with BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Omega Repair Creamand LAST but certainly not least 2 fingers of THANK YOU FARMER - Sun Project Water Sun Cream! And that’s it! It seems a little extreme, but doing 3 of the steps in and just out of the shower makes it actually a pretty quick routine ☺️ Are you using any of these products ?! What’s a must have in your winter routine ?

Life changing product! Review by an esthetician
This product has been life changing! The Mad Hippie exfoliating serum review by an esthetician. We all need exfoliation but did you know scrubs are too rough for most people? Chemical exfoliating are the way to go! These aren’t crazy strong peels that melt for skin off but rather use AHA’s or BHA’s to gentle exfoliate away dead skin, excess oil, break down blemishes and clogged pores and prevent aging. The Mad Hippie exfoliating serum is a gentle chemical exfoliant that can be used up to every other day. Personally I use it once or twice a week but, I also have another chemical exfoliant I use as well. You want to apply this at night after cleansing, let sit for about 10 minutes and then apply moisturizer on top. No need for other serums the nights you use this. This product is packed with 16 actives! Amazing ingredients like glycolic acid; this exfoliates, reduces wrinkles and brightens dark spots. Lactic acid which exfoliates while really packing a punch of brightening to those dark spots and scars. Hyaluronic acid is not a peeling acid but rather deeply hydrating acid, great for all skin types. Niacinamide helps to tighten the elasticity of the skin to help pores appear smaller. Caffeine to help depuffing and awaken the skin, and vegan squalane to nourish while balancing oil. And the best part? No junk ingredients! I am very picky about ingredients and this brand gets my seal of approval for avoiding all the bad stuff and cheap fillers, while still being able to very effective. This is gentle and great for all skin types, I would say this is good for most people over 18. Use less if you’re extra sensitive but I have never had it burn or sting. For a great chemical exfoliant $35 is a steal! Plus it lasts a while. Vegan and cruelty-free. Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum
My top tier serums for combo skin 🏆
Serums are a crucial part to every well designed skincare routine. Serums are designed to deliver high concentrations of specific active ingredients to the skin. Nowadays there are many options out there that adjust to every budget and skin concern you may have. For me, I like having a serum to treat dullness, brighten, enlarged pores, and lately, to help my skin maskne-free. I’ve been using these serums for a while and I really like them, let me tell you why! 🧴 PEACH & LILY - Glass Skin Refining Serum I love this so much, I think this is my second bottle and I actually just ran out of it! This is holy grail status for a lot of people and with reason, the ingredients are amazing. Niacinamide is one of my favorite skincare ingredients, it offers so many benefits and works well for most skin types. It also includes madecassoide and hyaluronic acid for moisture, I love that it’s light and hydrating at the same time, my dehydrated a** loves that 😌 Its $39 for 40 ml but it’s constantly on sale at Ulta! 🧴 VERSED - STROKE OF BRILLIANCE Brightening Serum Versed is a brand that’s grown on me, they have nice formulas for accessible price points, everything I’ve from them has worked well for me and I think it’s a good gateway brand if you’re just getting into skincare! This little bb also includes niacinamide and vitamin C, which were thought to be a big no-no to mix but it turns out they actually work really well together. This works great to treat uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation. If you’re new to skincare and need something that works but isn’t very pricey I think this is a good choice for you! It’s $19.99 for 1 fl. oz and you can find the brand at Target. 🧴 VERSED - JUST BREATHE Clarifying Serum I bought this recently to treat maskne specifically and I’m very pleased with it! The ingredient list caught my eye because I know willow bark extract works very well for me, and zinc is greatly known for its anti inflammatory properties and it could prevent clogged pores. Its very light and watery in texture, and it’s not sticky! 🧴 Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum this serum is amazing! It exfoliates with glycolic acid and lactic acid but also nourishes with goji berry extract and ceramides! Ceramides are lipids that help form the skin’s barrier and help skin retain moisture. I love that this is gentle enough to use every other night, but potent enough to help my skin look more radiant and combats dullness. It’s $34.99 for 1.02 fl oz, so not really super affordable nor super expensive, it’s a happy medium I’d say but it’s completely worth it. I believe this is also sold at Ulta, don’t quote me on that tho. And there you have it, my current serums I keep on rotation!

Shelfie: great products if you live in PNW!
I have dry/sensitive skin and these products have saved me while living here in Oregon. These products are all fragrance free and many of them contain highly moisturizing ingredients like omega fatty acids, ceramides, b5, squalane, and hyaluronic acid. The mad hippie cream cleanser is surfactant free. I use The Ordinary lactic acid on my days off from using Tretinoin Here’s my routine: AM Cleanse with Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser. While skin is still damp I apply my Paulas Choice Enriched Calming Toner. After this I use my Aveeno Calm + Restore triple oat serum. I then layer two oils from The Ordinary: b5 + amino acids and 100% pure squalane. I moisturize with Paula’s Choice Omega + Complex Moisturizer and protect with Biossance Zinc + Squalane SPF 30. The last step is an occlusive: Cerave Healing Ointment. I do not wear foundation but I apply Mineral Fusions BB cream. PM I use my Trilogy Rosehip Cleansing Oil to take off my BB cream and then my routine is mostly the same. Except instead applying The Ordinary after my serum I apply my licorice root serum from It’s Skin and my Rosehip Oil + Antioxidants from Trilogy. Every other day I apply Tretinoin and I put this on over my moisturizer to minimize peeling. On off days from Tretinoin I use my Lactic Acid 10% treatment from The Ordinary and I also apply my Cerave Healing Ointment over my moisturizer
How marked up my face is atm
This is to use as a reference for my first post about my first full glam satisfying look. You can see my spots are pretty bright red atm and I have scarring and uneven texture from scabs. My face is actually a little more even and healed since it had been 2 days since my trip to the movies. I pick my scabs almost everyday so the healing is very slow. I shower and pick at night so they are scabbed up by morning and I can put makeup over them. I just started double cleansing which I find very helpful. I clean up and tone using a mixture of water, tea tree and witch hazel on a cotton ball, which helps tremendously. I think part of the reason my acne was so bad was because I had run out of this mixture which I use on my face nightly. Once I started using it again as I felt the urgency, things got better way faster. It helps to clean my skin, calm the inflammation and dry up the wound. Using oil for moisturiizng my skin works well because my scabs are more evenly textured around the edges so I pick less. What I learned from this whole mess is that I shouldn't take my skin for granted. I am turning 30 in 3 months and I still get mistaken for a teenager and I think I want to keep it that way! I now make sure to take my skincare seriously everyday.

I think I found my wrinkle HG 🙌🏻🙌🏻
🧡A gentle serum that fades wrinkles FAST?!? Mad Hippie Vitamin A serum includes: -HPR: Revolutionary new form of vitamin A that is bioavailable in its current state without the need of any inefficient metabolic steps (retinol requires 2). Works to dramatically reduce the appearance of wrinkles & discoloration, revealing beautiful, youthful skin. -Phytoceramide: Aids in moisture retention, leading to more plumped up, hydrated skin. -Sodium Hyaluronate -Oat Beta Glucan: Naturally hydrates and soothes the skin. Oat beta glucan has been shown reduce the appearance of wrinkles. -Aloe Vera - Works to nourish the skin while forming a thin protective layer. Mad Hippie - Vitamin A Serum 🧡 All my lovelies trying to combat years of no sunscreen 😩, neglecting your skin, or even if you are trying to stop wrinkles from happening, listen up! When I say this serum in a little over weeks time, has done more than string retinol, I mean it. I have already seen a difference on my dynamic wrinkles and some fading of crows feet. I haven’t had any issues if dryness or even purging using every other night. It’s got a milky texture which is super unique and it’s absorbs FAST and leaves a matte finish ready for whatever moisturizer I’m using. This is a serum I will NOT be running out of and I’ll update after a couple months but as of now I am seriously impressed. 🧡 Did I mention it’s also giving me an all day ✨GLOW✨ the day after using?! This serum is $32.99 and comes with a money back guarantee. You literally have nothing to lose!! 🧡Do you have wrinkles you hate? Save this post for later!! **Gifted but review is honest and my opinion **
Keep going! It will happen! 💕
I know when you first start your skincare journey it can be so incredibly overwhelming and discouraging. Especially when you drop a lot of money on a product that sooooo many people love and swear by and you just don’t see any results. Well let me tell you! No matter how amazing a product is, it’s going to take time. It doesn’t always take months upon months but you’ve got to be consistent and make sure the products you are using are right for you. YOU. It may take trial and error but you will find what works for you. I have been sticking to a routine for 2 months now. Before that I just used different products here and there. My results you see are a combination of the following products being added into my routine: A good cleanser currently: HERBIVORE - Pink Cloud Rosewater + Tremella Creamy Jelly Cleanser The Ordinary - Matrixyl* 10% + HA I use this ever single day. A good vitamin c serum currently Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum A retinol/ vitamin A serum currently Mad Hippie - Vitamin A Serum A good daytime moisturizer for combo skin like boscia - Revitalizing Black Charcoal Hydration Gel FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Air-Whip Moisture Cream Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Face Cream Niacinamide serum or powder currently NATURIUM - Niacinamide Serum 12% Plus Zinc 2% The Ordinary - 100% Niacinamide Powder And a good exfoliant 3x weekly Currently using Mad Hippie - Microdermabrasion Facial I alternate these am-pm just depending on what I think my skin needs most at that time. I do not ever use these all together. I also use some masks a few times a week and those definitely vary. Just keep researching, learning, and trying things. You will find what is going to work best for you. We here on Cherie can tell you if a product work for us but no one but you can tell what’s going to give you the results you want. Just keep going 🧡 You got this!

Skin Journey Progress
I still have some acne here and there, but overall my skin has been more clear. My freckles are lightening, partly because it’s fall, and partly because of the vitamin c serum, and the AHA/BHA serum. I do have larger pores, but some of the “pores” it shows are freckles. I don’t love the dark circles. I have a new eye cream to try once I’m finished up the one I have. I think the wrinkles and fine lines look good. I’m 39, so I’m not expecting miracles. I’m integrating the EARTH HARBOR - SIREN SILK Multi-Tasking Hydration Cremeinto my routine. I’m using it on days where I don’t use the daily resurfacing peel from Beauty Counter, since the siren silk has sea retinol. This is my first experience with any type of retinol, so I’m excited to see how my skin does. I think it’s purging a bit right now since I have some extra pimples on my cheeks. The second photo is me with light coverage makeup. Don’t mind my hair in that photo. I was just letting it air dry. My current routine: Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Transformative Cleansing Oil Beauty Counter Coco Cream Cleanser Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream Beauty Counter Vitamin C serum Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream (Daytime, or at night when using the AHA/BHA resurfacing peel) Mad Hippie - Facial SPF, 30+ UVA/UVB Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen EARTH HARBOR - SIREN SILK Multi-Tasking Hydration Creme(on none resurfacing peel days) grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum (on none resurfacing peel days) Feedback on my routine is welcome!
Skin Journey & my updated routine
My acne is diminishing, though, like most people, I’ve been dealing with maskne. But the acne on my forehead is better. I’m noticing that my freckles are lighter too. I do have large pores, but the app seems to think my freckles are pores. My biggest concern right now is dryness and texture, especially as we get into winter. I’m noticing my skin is not as moisturized as I’d like and it looks a little rough. I’ve recently switched my moisturizer back to something more hydrating. My current routine AM- Wash face with water Toner - LUSH - Eau Roma Water I’ve used this before and it is a nice toner, but not the cleanest. Once it’s out, I’ll use something else, but it is hydrating. Beauty Counter vitamin c serum- seems to work great. Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Pomegranate Day Cream - I just switched back to this from a lighter day cream. I really need the moisture and this is a wonderful day cream. Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Beech Tree Bud Eyes Cream - I love this eye cream but I think I’m open to trying something else in the future. My fine lines around my eyes seem to be progressing more than I’d like. Mad Hippie - Facial SPF, 30+ UVA/UVB Broad-Spectrum Sunscreen Smells amazing and has a great rating on Think Dirty. It is a little heavy but my face likes the hydration. PM- Double cleanse with Rocky Mountain Soap Co - Transformative Cleansing Oil Beauty Counter’s Clear Pore Cleanser- really nice pore cleanser that doesn’t strip my skin and the little jojoba beads feel great. I’m going to be trying a more hydrating cleanser when this is empty but I highly recommend it for oily or combination skin. Toner- LUSH - Eau Roma Water Every second night- the Beauty Counter overnight resurfacing peel- amazing product! Very gentle and I see the difference right away. Last, I mix the grace & stella - Hyaluronic Acid Serum with my moisturizer (above). I also use beauty counter’s charcoal mask 1-2 times a week and as a spot treatment for acne. Eye cream again! I’m also interested in finding a good sleeping mask or night cream. Let me know if you have suggestions!

This madhippie Cream Cleanser is my current favorite cream cleansers! It has ingredients such as jojoba oil, orchid extract, macadamia oil, sodium hyaluronate, algae extract, sesame oil, green tea, chea butter and sodium PCA - all are mostly for hydrating and moisturizing. Ideally, this is best for dry skin but my oily skin enjoys it. Felt weird at first because its light creamy texture and I was always used to foam, oil and gel. This is perfect as a morning or a second cleanser. I really like how it smells and feels after wash. Then I got excited about their Mad Hippie Eye Cream because the ingredients sound amazing - it has Matrixyl Synthe '6 (skin rejuvenating benefits), Regu-age and Syne-eye (peptides that improve issues on the eye area), Chamomile Extract, Pomegranate, Vitamin C, B3 and E, Wheat Protein, Argan Oil, White tea, and Ceramides. So here's me thinking what could go wrong? As soon as I applied it on my orbital bone, it stung and it just didn't feel right. However, I tried it again after a few weeks and it didn't sting anymore but up to this day I stopped using it because I've accepted that it isn't for me. It's not as hydrating and I even got white little bumps. I might use it for my neck instead.
So many people love the madhippie brand that I knew I needed to check it out. A few weeks ago Whole Foods had a sale on all beauty products so picked up this eye cream. So far I'm enjoying that it is very hydrating yet lightweight. It absorbs quickly and wears great under my concealer/makeup. It's packed full of advanced, complex peptides, ceramides, Niacinamide vit C, pomegranate, Squalane, argan oil, white tea + a ton of other quality ingredients.

I’ve been on tretinoin since November 2nd 2020, I think I’m still in the purging process but not as many pimples are coming in as they were a week or two ago. I’ve incorporated a few things into my routine that I think are helping with the inflammation. My new routine is Morning VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free I just started using this a few days ago so not sure how I like it so far, the texture is pretty thick so I would personally only use this moisturizer in the winter months Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment on my active spots after moisturizer Then I put a small amount of my FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Cucumber Melon all over or I’ll use my holy hydration cream but I definitely like the feeling of the ultra repair cream much more. Then sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 I’m in search for a new sunscreen preferably no fragrance, good for acne prone skin, and mineral. The sunbum is okay, leaves no white cast, at first it makes your face look really greasy but it dries nicely. I haven’t really noticed any problems with this I don’t think but I was told that chemical sunscreens are a bit harsher for acne prone sensitive skin like mine so I’m hoping to find something that fits my needs more, let me know if you have any suggestions! (Something affordable please, times are tough covid sucks 🙃) At night time I do VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser e.l.f. - Holy Hydration! Face Cream - Fragrance Free Then I alternate every other night I’ll either do the Neutrogena - On-the-Spot Acne Treatment Then the next night I’ll use my OBAGI - Tretinoin 0.025% Cream Rx Then I’ll add a layer of moisturizer on top, I usually reach for my FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Cucumber Melon because I just enjoy it I think I might go and pick up the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream without the melon and see if I enjoy that one as well. I’m thinking of trying a cleansing oil to add into my night routine, right now I’m looking into getting Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Cleansing Oil or the DHC - Deep Cleansing Oil Let me know if you have tried these! I have my eye on a few products I’d like to incorporate into my routine in the near future, but I don’t want to over do it right now because I’m still only a month into my tretinoin treatment. I know I’m going to end up with a lot of red scaring as I already am 🙃 so I’m definitely taking suggestions on how to clear that up once my active acne has gotten under control So far happy that my skin is starting to improve, hopefully the worst has past but we will see 😬

What are they and why are they good for skin?
What is a peptide? Peptides are strings of amino acids, which are the building blocks that make up proteins in our body, including collagen in the skin, without these proteins, we will see wrinkles, brittle nails and dry hair that’s prone to breakage. Peptides serve as the building blocks for not only new collagen, but also elastin fibers, these fibers are the building blocks of our skin and add to tissue firmness and elasticity. peptides are found in every human cell and play an important role in how the body functions, often acting as a biologic messenger. We need peptides at all times. If we are deficient in them, our body cannot function. Peptides have a lot of uses in the body, from being the building blocks for enzymes, hormones and an energy source. So how do they work in skincare? According to experts, we lose 1% of our remaining collagen per year after age 30. Our skin’s natural communication channels also slow down over time. BUT, just putting peptides on your face doesn’t necessarily do much. how they work is a little more complex: Your body sees these peptides as ‘signals’ that you need to heal, which tells your body to produce more collagen where you need it most, If you are healing from an injury in your ankle, those peptides will signal your body to focus its repair efforts in that joint. If your skin is aging prematurely, those peptides might signal your skin to boost its production of collagen and even hyaluronic acid, plumping up your skin and restoring a healthy skin barrier. When you introduce outside peptides onto the skin in the form of a moisturizer or serum, it tricks the skin into thinking there’s been an injury or wound, and it stimulates our collagen-boosting processes. Cool right? There are peptides that are better and more effective to use in skincare. For example, carrier peptides deliver trace minerals to the skin to boost collagen, while enzyme inhibitor peptides work to slow down the skin’s natural breakdown of collagen. Signal peptides send messages to different parts of the skin to promote collagen, elastin and other proteins; and neurotransmitter peptides, touted as “Botox-like,” block the release of chemicals that cause the muscle contraction of expression lines, thus smoothing wrinkles. 😳 To make sure the skincare with peptides you are using is actually effective, dermatologists recommend looking at the product’s formulation: the stability of its ingredients and its ability to penetrate the skin barrier. So a bit of research is necessary. Do you have any skincare products with peptides? My favorites at the moment are: Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Face Cream & Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Concealer
Multi purpose moisturizer 🙌🏻

Entering fall mode 🍂
Fall is kinda already here, which means time to make adjustments to my current summer routine to meet my skin needs. I have combo, dehydrated skin that tends to get slightly drier when temperatures start to drop and living in a very dry climate that just gets drier as it gets colder, so I really need to amp up the hydration. For summer I like using lighter layers and products to keep my skin hydrated, but for colder months I just like to go all in with moisturizing properties and nourishing ingredients. These are a couple adjustments and products I’ll be adding to my routines: 🧴 Switching to a nice hydrating, creamy toner! From BLUME - Stargirl Face Mist which is perfect for summer to LANEIGE - Cream Skin Refiner that my combo skin just loves! It’s such a hyped up product that in my opinion works great. 🧴 During summer I like to use moisturizers that aren’t so heavy but still feel nice and creamy. The cocokind - Texture smoothing cream has been amazing for me, it really does a great job smoothing unwanted texture thanks to celery superseed complex and tsubaki seed oil. For fall, I decided to finally try the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream with Ashwagandha + Reishi (giving it 5 stars for now, I’ll revise the rating soon!), which is supposed to be super hydrating and has ingredients like squalene, jojoba and Shea butter. All ingredients my skin really likes so I’m hoping I’ll enjoy this! 🧴I’ll also be adding the Mad Hippie - Antioxidant Facial Oil because facial oils are a must for me to lock moisture in during colder weather. 🧴Lastly, to keep my skin soft and bright I’ll also be adding the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial to get rid of dead skin and help products absorb better. #CheriePartner
The 2nd slide is my current routine and described as below :) Since starting retinol I haven’t used anything else (the first pic is all of my products) and I don’t know if/when I can add any of these into my routine. Any advise would be helpful. Also I am open to recommendations to a gel moisturizer for oily/sensitive skin, I’ve been using TRADER JOE'S - Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer with Aloe & Green Tea Extractsand CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotionbut I’m not in love with them and would be open to any suggestions. AM: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Let my skin dry and apply clindamycin phosphate topical solution usp 1% then wait 20 mins and apply TRADER JOE'S - Ultra Hydrating Gel Moisturizer with Aloe & Green Tea ExtractsandCeraVe - Hydrating Sunscreen Face Lotion SPF 50 PM: CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin Then apply tretinoin cream 0.025%
Oil control skin care products
I have been longing out try out @madhippieskinproducts products since I’ve been hearing great reviews about them. They were built on the notion that natural skin care can be every bit as effective as traditional. Parabens, synthetic fragrance, dyes, petrochemicals, PEGs, SLS and other nasty additives aren't necessities. It feels good knowing I am taking a step towards healthier, more beautiful skin💖 I loveee these products for my oily skin. After each use my skin feels hydrated and not so oily.
Review: Mad Hippie Hydrating Nutrient Mist Price: $19.99 USD/ $25.99 CAD for 4 fl. oz What it is: A blend of antioxidants that can be layered underneath your sunscreen to protect you from pollution, soothe, and brighten your skin. My thoughts: My critique about this was going to be that the mister is not mist-y and more of a water gun, but I was pleasantly surprised to see on their website that they have replaced the mister! I so appreciate seeing brands respond to customer feedback 😁. Besides that I think this is an extremely useful product, specifically for the the neck and chest where you might not apply an antioxidant otherwise. Star Ingredients: * Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate: A Vitamin C Derivative, the same one that is in the Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum you have probably heard me rave about. SAP is much less powerful than L-Ascorbic Acid (the gold standard of vitamin c in skincare), but it is more stable, so you don’t have to worry about it going “off” and it’s a lot more gentle. Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum
This AHA serum is designed to tackle skin discoloration and wrinkles. I have been using this serum 2-3 times a week at night for about 4 months, after toner and before serums and moisturizer. It burns a little bit at first, but your skin will get used to it. I have noticed that my skin has been kept completely clear since I started using this serum. It also really brightens the skin. I would say that this is one of the most effective products that I use. It is $35, but I would definitely recommend it because of how effective it is. Mad Hippie is a great company that is ethical and really pays attention to the ingredients they use in their products, so I definitely recommend. Mad Hippie - Mad Hippie Exfoliating Serum

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum Size: 30 ml Price: $40 CAD/$34 USD Star Ingredients: Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Hyaluronic Acid, Ferulic Acid If you have trouble with Vitamin C products, it’s probably because they often have to be formulated with oil or silicone to keep the vitamin c stable. SAP is a stable form of vitamin C so you won’t have that problem with this product. This is not as potent as the more popular/expensive vitamin c serums out there, but IMO it’s a perfect morning serum. A gentle, slightly brightening antioxidant - perfect as an extra layer of protection before your sunscreen.

I know it’s a bit much but it. Works for me, my skin has been clearing up, sometimes I switch with the cleaners trying not to over exfoliate my skin. I’m obsessed with the Mad Hippie C Serum. The brand was nice enough to gift me a replacement of the Vitamin C and the Hydrating Nutrient Mist to try. I find that Vit C can be really tricky for acne prone/sensitive skin, and at the same time it’s highly recommended for lightening pigmentation and as an antioxidant. I really think this serum would work for literally anyone - it’s super lightweight and gentle. As for the mist - we will see! I’m really trying to up my antioxidant game, so let’s see how we go 👀.

Mad Hippie Cream Cleanser: I like that it’s super gentle, but compared to a lot of other cream cleansers it doesn’t leave me feeling filmy. I know a lot of people like it if their cleanser is hydrating, but I prefer to get my hydration from serums and lotions.
