Is it really a dupe?? Drunk Elephant vs. Inkey🍀
In this round of dupe products, I tested Drunk Elephant’s Protini against The Inkey List Peptide Moisturizer. I have used Protini in the past and just got the newly released Inkey List moisturizer a few months ago. I was excited to see how they would perform up against each other. Let’s dive in! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream $68/ 50ml: contains a combination of signal peptides, growth factors, and amino acids. It comes in an airtight jar and a pump to prevent exposure and oxidation. The cream is in an intensely thick formula but surprisingly doesn’t feel too heavy when applied on my oily skin (although I feel oilier later in the day). The formulation has A LOT of peptides. Nine in total. I’m still skeptical when it comes to peptides since there haven’t been enough controlled studies to support the claims. However, I do know it has amazing moisturizing properties therefore, it may really help reduce fine lines and improve the overall health of the skin. THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer $14.99/ 50ml: this is a mainly a shea butter moisturizer. The peptides are last in the ingredients list. It contains a two-percent royal epigen P5 that claims to nurture skin and help decrease the appearance of fine lines and one-percent hydrating peptide solution to support the moisture barrier. It has fewer ingredients compared to Protini so it has less potential to cause irritations for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Texture and Consistency: I find that the Inkey moisturizer is more lightweight and sinks in quicker than the Protini. However, the Protini has that special luxurious silky feel to it. It feels really soft and cream slides easily onto skin. They are both sufficiently moisturizing for my oily skin. Both make me oilier at the end of the day but I really have no problem when used in the nighttime. I think they’re both great products. Both are fragrance-free and have occlusive properties. They seal in the moisture to keep your skin looking healthy and they’re perfect for use to repair the moisture barrier and replenish your skin with hydration overnight. So which one should you get? depends on your needs and skin type: I would say, go for the PROTINI if: You have dry skin You have wrinkles and fine lines You prefer a really intensive hydration You’re not sensitive to plant extracts Go for the PEPTIDE MOISTURIZER if: You have oily skin You are acne-prone You prefer a lightweight moisturizer You’re sensitive to plant extracts *cons: it has a strong chemical smell I personally have been enjoying the Inkey List moisturizer better than the Protini. Although I have always loved the Protini, I find that the Inkey moisturizer works better with my skin type. Thank you for reading! xoxo

5 Reasons Why I Love TO’s Niacinamide Serum
I first heard about The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum when I was searching for brightening serums last year. While my combination skin rarely ever breaks out, I do have some dark marks left over from the occasional pimples that I would like to disappear, or at least, improve in appearance. So I ordered TO’s Niacinamide Serum, crossing my fingers and hoping that it’s actually effective. It’s been almost a whole year later and I’m already on my third bottle of this serum. I have to say, I love it more and more as time goes by! Here are the 5 reasons why. 1. It lightens up my dark spots. It’s not a very dramatic change, mind you, but it does lighten my dark spots quite noticeably. I guess I’ll have to use a few more bottles of this serum if I want to completely lighten them. 2. It smoothens my skin’s texture. I can't believe just how nice it is to glide your fingers over your skin and not feel any bumps! 3. It provides much-needed moisture. My skin never feels dry when I have this serum on. I think it’s successful in locking in the moisture from my essence, too. 4. It doesn’t make my skin oily. Even though it moisturizes my skin, it doesn’t make my face look oily or greasy. This is very important to me because I really like keeping my face matte. 5. It makes me look fresh in the morning. Who doesn’t like seeing that healthy glow on their face when they wake up in the morning? Definitely not me! Can you guess what my overall rating is? 💋💋💋💋💋 5 out of 5 kisses! I really enjoy using this product and I think I’ll keep using it for the future, at least until I find a worthy replacement. Hopefully not, though! If you have some dark spots and you’re having a hard time reducing their appearance, you may want to try out The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% serum! You can get it for only $5.90 on the Cherie website! The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Have you tried this product before? Loved it, hated it? Let me know in the comments!

Let’s talk about squalane in skincare
✨ To start with what is squalane? Squalene (with an e!) is a lipid which our skin cells naturally produce to keep our skin moisturised. The amount of squalene our skin cells produce reduces with age especially after the age of 30. Squalene is also found in shark livers and plant-based sources such as olives and sugarcane but in its natural state squalene is not very shelf stable and can oxidise and lose effectiveness. When squalene is hydrogenated it then becomes squalane (with an a!) and is a much more stable and effective skincare ingredient with the same moisturising properties as unprocessed squalene. ✨ What can squalane do for my skin? It is a lightweight moisturising product which mimics our skins own lipids so can penetrate deep into the skin It contains antioxidants which fight damage from free radicals that can accelerate skin ageing Regular use can increase collagen production to make your skin firmer and having greater elasticity It can also detox your skin and reduce redness as it has anti-inflammatory properties ✨ Who does squalane suit? Mainly dry or combination skin types as it can cause oilier skin to break out but is non comedogenic so shouldn’t aggravate acne prone skin. Products containing squalane are also great for mature skin to replace the squalene levels your skin cells are no longer producing. ✨ What should I know about using products containing squalane? Some squalane is derived from shark liver oil and is not a great choice from a sustainability or cruelty perspective so look for products with plant derived squalane Squalane is generally a low irritant as our skin cells produce squalene but always check the other ingredients in products for harsh types of alcohol or fragrances if you have dry or sensitive skin You can purchase a straight squalane oil or if you’re into having fewer products choose a cleanser or moisturiser containing squalane so your products are doing double duty helping your skin with this extra ingredient As with any other new skincare product patch test before using and only ever introduce one new product at a time so you can identify the source of any irritation to your skin
My secret tips&hacks for your beach holiday!
Beach makeup base can be a huge struggle! Don't waste unnecessary time on it or keep worrying about it all the time! What we need is a smooth, clean, long-lasting, hydrated, and natural glowing beach makeup that lasts. I've been experimenting and here are my secret tips&hacks for all of you! 💓xoxo Tip 1: Never skip sunscreen!☀ Recommendation: elta md SKINCARE - UV Elements Broad-Spectrum SPF 44 $48 Many people underrate the importance of wearing sunscreen. The right product not only protects you from sun damage, but it can also even out your skin tone. I'm using the EltaMD UV elements tinted sunscreen SPF 44. It is gentle and water-resistant. Sometimes I use this single product as a lightweight foundation and it's good to go! Also perfect under makeup. A little tip, remember to apply 1/4 teaspoon of the sunscreen (mostly around 3 pumps) on your face so that you can cover your skin equally and ensure SPF protection to work! Tip 2: Mix up tinted moisturizer and bronzer😻 Recommendation: NARS - Laguna Liquid Bronzer (SPF 15) $40 Try to mix a few drops of liquid or gel bronzer into your moisturizer before applying foundation. And then finish your base with the foundation over. It mutes the color a bit and avoids making your complexion seem too dark. I'm using Nars laguna liquid bronzer. I love how its subtle shimmer creates a healthy-looking glow! Check how it works on my skin. Tip 3: For foundation & concealer: less is more🤡 Recommendation: MAC - Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation $45.5 The last thing you need is heavy make-up and fragile formulas. Cream, gel, and liquid-based products are wiser choices. Don't be cakey! Use foundation and concealer as little as you can to create thin makeup. I highly recommend my secret foundation - MAC Pro Longwear nourishing waterproof foundation. It has an oil-free, watertight formula and the liquid texture is easy to be blended seamlessly onto your skin. I've worn this product to water parks, to beaches, to pool parties and my makeup stayed put the entire time!🙆🙆🙆

A Complete Skincare Guide for Oily Skin: Day & Night Routines
I used to be troubled by my skin type a lot because there were so many skin concerns. For example, I had to deal with extremely oily and acne-prone skin. To make things worse, I also have inner dryness. However, over the years, I have developed skincare routines that work well for my skin type. My morning and night routines are slightly different from each other because I want to target varying concerns that might arise during different times of the day. · AM I would start with a face wash for my morning routine to remove the dirt and sebum built up overnight. Then, I always use a lightweight face cream to lock in the moisture without suffocating my skin. Finally, I would put on sunscreen no matter the weather to protect my skin from UV rays. Face wash: NIVEA Clean Deeper Daily Wash Scrub NIVEA Clean Deeper Daily Wash Scrub is a cleanser that has exfoliating properties. It is in a gel-like texture with microbeads that physically scrubs off the dead skin on the skin. My skin feels cleansed and smooth after using it. However, it can be a bit too harsh for dry skin but perfect for oily skins because oily skins build up dead skin faster; thus, I enjoy using this daily to achieve clearer skin and more even skin texture. Moisturizer: CLINIQUE Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly Anti-Pollution I currently use this moisturizer every day because of its unusual texture. As the name suggests, it is a water-jelly type of face cream that feels very refreshing on the face and absorbs almost instantly into the skin. I chose the product for morning routine because of the anti-pollution properties that shield my skin from the outside world. I can feel that it creates a thin, film-like barrier on the skin to prevent dirt from clogging my pores, which is very helpful for stopping acne from forming. Sunscreen: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen Lotion Last but not least, sunscreen is a must in my morning routine. This sunscreen is an excellent product for oily skin because it leaves a lightweight, clean feel on the face. In the past, I have suffered breakouts from other sunscreens because they were too heavy and oily, which clogged my pores. I quite enjoy this product because it is water-resistant, which means that it is very long-lasting against my oily skin. · PM During night time, I tend to focus more on cleansing and deep hydration to remove impurities gathered on my face throughout the day and relief inner dryness. I begin with cleansing water to take off the sunscreen and dirt on the skin. I follow a double cleanse routine; therefore, I would use a face wash to wash off any remaining impurities. Lastly, I would apply a heavier cream than the one I use in the morning to soothe my skin and hydrate it on a deeper level. Cleansing water: BIODERMA - Sensibio H2O Soothing Micellar Cleansing Water This product is one of my favorites because it is gentle on the skin but has reliable cleaning power. It effectively removes makeup residue and sunscreen, and since it does not have any scent, it is ideal for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Moisturiser: La Roche Posay Toleriane Sensitive Crème To end the day, I always rehydrate my skin with a thicker cream than the morning one. This specific cream is very gentle and soothing on the skin. I would wake up feeling my face being very hydrated, smooth, and plump. Although it is hydrating, it is not too heavy on the skin, which is perfect for oily skin with inner dryness.

“A gentle, PHA- and BHA-infused watermelon toner that hydrates skin and minimizes the appearance of pores” performance | full star | gotta give it to ‘em simply for the fact they they say minimizes the APPEARANCE of pores. Yeah pores don’t actually be changing size, but they can appear lil’ when they don’t have a bunch of nasty’s in them. Literally my new favorite toner though, no burning/tingling sensation and thicc enough to pour into your hand texture | full star | Stan with this texture, as I said above you can plop some right into your hand, makes it easier to pat into skin & no need to waste a cotton pad scent | full star | I am stunned at how bomb this smells! Herbal & fruity, but not the artificial watermelon (yes I’m calling you out jolly ranchers) packaging | full star | the grooves in the bottle make it much easier to hang on to, def need as a clutzy b. Plus the pink top is cute af annnnd the bottle looks real cute wit a single stem flower in it, or two if you really wanna live ingredients | .65 star | there is super subtle fragrance in there, but everything else is all good, especially that cactus water to make it thicc value | .75 star | $34 is a little on the higher end for toner, but honestly worth it with how amaze this product is Total 5.4 out of 6 stars

$103 vs $29: Can this vintage gem be duped?
ESTĒE LAUDER - Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II VS MISSHA - Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule HONEST FEMME FINDS: Estée Lauder’s night serum was the first thing I ever took from my mom’s vanity (apparently similar to how others discovered it) and immediately grew a liking to the formula. The amber bottle never told me what was so great about it but I knew it was something special. After eagerly using up the 30ml in a month, I was excited to repurchase but horrified to find that a 1.7ml bottle would cost $100+. I came to terms with the fact that I just did not have the means to use it daily. At airports, I was that person who waded through the duty free section to use a sample of this serum, leaving my face supple for a red eye flight. I also noticed the patented ingredient, bífida ferment lysate. When I saw recent videos of the many dupes that have come out since Estée Lauder patented the formulation in 2008, I immediately felt compelled to try it. Here are my first impressions. MISSHA - Time Revolution Night Repair Borabit Ampoule IMPRESSIONS: Wow, it’s way larger of a bottle than I expected, looks super luxurious too! The color looks the same (peachy), consistency upon eye-balling looks identical, and even the smell reminds me of the OG. Wow. On the face, it feels slightly oilier/tackier than I remembered Estée Lauder’s to be but overall it feels similar. Softened my skin immediately. The next morning, after using it as my last step, my skin still felt soft and definitely looks brighter in the mirror. I can’t say for long term effects but so far so good! INGREDIENTS: Second ingredient is bífida ferment lysate (a probiotic that has anti-UV damage properties, helps w/ skin barrier), but also in addition Niacinamide, fermented and fruit extracts with anti-aging properties that the original doesn’t have. PRICE: $29 on Amazon prime vs $103 for the original. Imma stop there. REFLECTIONS: When I was wowed by Estée Lauder’s vintage gem, it was years ago, before I truly started my skincare journey. My skin has improved drastically since I incorporated Vit C, HA, AHA and retinol (even SPF!) into my life and I’m wondering if I’ll feel as in awe by bífida ferment lysate as I once did. I guess I will find out if I really NEED this ingredient in my routine. Updates to come! Cheers to ingredients sounding like congenital conditions🥂

Can you really wash your face?🤔🤔
For a long time, because of my oily skin, I am very upset. Because once more oil is produced, my pores are easily blocked. At this time, acne will appear. I have been looking for suitable skin care products, but the effect is not obvious. Until one time, my friend told me, is it a problem to wash your face? I suddenly realized that sometimes my face may not be washed clean, and I need some special instruments to help me wash my face. FOREO - LUNA mini 3$230 This is a special instrument for washing your face. Maybe you will ask, can't we wash our face with our hands? Why bother? In fact, no matter how hard and carefully you wash your face, sometimes your face is still not clean. The most important thing of this instrument is its latest t-sonic pulses. Get a deeper cleanse as 8,000 T-Sonic™ pulsations per minute reach into your pores to wash away dirt, oil, sweat, make-up residue, dead skin cells and more. Secondly, this brush head is very suitable for face use, and its silicone touchpoints are very long. This greater reach and extra softness mean you’ll get a deeper, gentler cleanse. With 16 different T-Sonic™ intensities to choose from, LUNA 3 offers a customized cleansing experience to fit your unique skin. You may find it troublesome to wash your face with instruments, but it is not. This product integrates the latest technology, so you only need to match it with your Bluetooth when you use it for the first time, then turn on the button, put on the facial cleanser, tap it twice and do circular motion on your face. Even more amazing, the next time you use it, you don't need to configure it again, and your usage habits have already been set.

PORES stay clean with this mask!
When I worked at the spa, I was always asked how to make pores disappear. First, we need to understand what exactly pores do. These small openings in the skin secrete oils and sweat. If it weren't for them, our skin may not function properly at all! The size of our pores is largely determined by genetics and skin type. The oiler the skin, the larger the pores. Dry skin types have very small pores that can sometimes be impossible to see! Either way, we need them for our skin to work. Skincare products help to balance an overproduction or under production of oil in the skin. ☆Clean Pores are the Best Pores☆ With all that being said, there is still a way to make your pores appear smaller or less noticeable. The secret is simply by keeping your skin clean and balanced! A proper routine of cleansing, exfoliation, and moisturizer is key. There are certain ingredients such as niacinamide or BHAs that can be used to target pores. OLE HENRIKSEN - Cold Plunge Pore Mask One of my favorite skin care treatments is this cooling and refreshing clay mask! I use it weekly to supplement my regular products to keep my pores from getting too much build up. It uses several great ingredients to target cleansing but is also soothing enough to be used by most skin types. -Lactic and Salicylic Acid to exfoliate the skin -Green Fusion Complex: Ole Henrikson's special blend of active botanicals that have antiseptic properties and absorb excess oil -Clay to remove impurities and provide a deep cleanse -Antioxidants and Plant Oils to soothe and hydrate skin The peppermint oil definitely makes this mask a "cold plunge", but it feels ultra refreshing. It dries after a few minutes and rinses off easily with warm water. We all want healthy, clean skin! Instead of wishing you could remove your pores, let's show them a little love. Have you tried this mask?💙

I tried this self tanning WATER
It’s approaching summer in Australia so as any pasty skin gal would do, I went and got a (fake) tan! Tanologist was recommended to me by a stranger in a Facebook group. According to their website, Tanologist is certified with the official “Dermatologist Seal of Approval”. As an acne prone gal with sensitised skin, I had to give it a go. I got the shade medium in both the water and drops, as pictured I did a patch test on my chest, shoulders and jawline and left it on overnight. These are the results! 👉 As you can see from the pictures, my chest did get darker than my arms. Funny thing is I accidentally slept with my arm on the side of my face and it also got a patch test tan too - see the third picture 😂 *cue you know you had a good nap when you see this*. The water comes in a mist bottle so all I had to do was spray it directly on my body and then use my self tanning mitt to buff into my skin. It literary has a watery texture and it is clear as water! The self tan water smelled pleasant and citrusy. The self tan drops is a thick oil-like texture, similar to a gel face wash. I mixed 10 drops in with my moisturiser as instructed on the bottle. I put this on my jawline for a patch test. My verdict: at first impressions 9/10. Why? - it is easy to use - it didn’t come out patchy - the colour is gorgeous on my skin - I did not react or break out The reason why I can’t give it a 10/10 is because I haven’t done it on my full body yet and I still need to see how long this lasts! I’ll make another post in a few weeks time to keep you posted on the longevity of this self tan water. Stay tuned 🙈 Have you ever tried a self tanning water?
