THOUGHTS ON OLAPLEX SHAMPOO
THOUGHTS ON OLAPLEX SHAMPOO
OLAPLEX - No. 4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo I’ve been using this product for a year and a half or so. Here are my thoughts on this product: OVERALL OPINION: I have very dark thick curly hair. I got it highlighted a lighter honey blonde color about 6 years ago, and my hair texture has never been the same. It became very course, had so much breakage, and had lost its overall shine. It did not look healthy or feel healthy & I’ve tried so many different shampoos & treatments to try to address all my problems: Paul Mitchell, OGX, Redken, and a few others. Nothing helped. After hearing so many good things about Olaplex as a brand, I decided to try it out for myself. Best hair decision I’ve ever made. I no longer have any breakage [or at least no where near what I had before]. My hair feels and looks healthy. I’m very happy to have discovered this product. USE: I use this every time I wash my hair [about once a week]. It does lather a bit, and a little goes a long way. SCIENCE: Olaplex products contain a compound called bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which is meant to reconnect disulfide sulfur bonds in the hair. Disulfide bonds are basically two sulfur atoms that link two proteins together. This link determines your hair’s shape & strength,& when that link is damaged with coloring or bleaching, you experience breakage, dullness, etc. This is why Olaplex is marketed as a brand for people with damaged hair due to coloring treatments! The compound mentioned above helps form artificial bonds between the sulfur atoms in your hair, creating an artificial bridge that allows the hair to repair itself through the new disulfide link that is formed. So, this ingredient is what makes Olaplex a brand that is known for bond maintainence & restoration. VALUE: $28 at Sephora for the full size. I’ve spent so much money trying out other [cheaper] brands that didn’t do anything for me. This does all that I need it to & more, so I’m willing to spend that $28. Also, each bottle lasts me about 5 months [washing once a week] so I get a reasonable amount of product for what I’m paying for. I can’t wait to try out more products from this brand, but for now this shampoo satisfies all my hair needs!

Bring back the bear
Bring back the bear
Happy Sunday! ☀️ It’s a sunny day here in New York which makes me feel extra happy (but I can’t wait for 5 o’clock so I can leave work ya knooo) • • @mommys_beauty_reviews was the SWEETEST human ever because she saw my IG story about how I wanted this sold out babe and sent it over to me 😭🐻 I’ve been using this once a week after I use the @briogeo Charcoal Scalp Cleanser and the results have blown me away! • • I haven’t tried their OG Deep Condition Mask yet, but apparently it’s the same formula except this is infused with organic, unpasteurized honey for intense moisture. It’s amazing especially if you’re like me and have dry and long damaged hair (I mean i haven’t had my hair cut in a year now so😅) • • Honey is a known emollient and humectant that works amazing as a hair conditioner/ deep conditioning mask. There is also rosehip oil which is a rich fatty acid to help control frizz and split ends as well as help with free radicals damage. Almond oil is a nourishing oil that enhances the shine and luster of dry or weak hair. This oil also has fatty acids which help to strengthen the hair. Vitamin B-5 is also infused in this formula which helps as a moisturizer, humectant, and emollient. • • I do hope they bring this back one day because I will totally be purchasing again!

Curlers Vs Curling iron!
Curlers Vs Curling iron!
I have a set of curlers that I’ve had for years and every so often I bust them out again. If you were choosing curlers Vs curling iron which would you choose? Curlers- I used a basic Velcro type curler, I believe they’re conair but they’re very old so I’m unsure. I started with freshly washed hair that was 80% dry. I rolled hair up in 1-2 inch sections and pinned. I left in curlers for 3 hours and periodically would blow dry to finish drying hair and add heat for styling. Curling iron- I chose an iron that I thought wood be most comparable to the curlers. This one is a 1.5 inch barrel I also think conair brand. I dried hair fully and curled in 1-2 inch sections. Curling half my head took less than 5 minutes. As you can see in the photos the curl type is different. With the curlers it takes MUCH longer to do. The curls are less predictable if you accidentally roll the hair the wrong way or have any kinks in the rolls. With the curlers however you get much more volume and fluffy ness, you can see how much more volume I got in the second pic just by how much shorter the hair line is compared to the curled side. Curling iron you get predictable and easily controllable curls. The curl goes higher up the hair shaft unlike the roller where the hair is only curled at the bottom. You don’t get the volume but as with the curlers. Overall I typically choose a curling iron over curlers for the main reason being time. It is SO time consuming to use rollers and you never really know what you’ll end up with. A good old curling iron is so reliable you can’t go wrong!

KÉRASTASE - Elixir Ultime Oil Serum SIZE: 3.4 oz/ 100 mL $62.00 CAD This is basically one of my holy grail products. KÉRASTASE hair oil is perfect for all hair hair types: straight, wavy, curly and coily that can be used before, during, and post blow dry for hair that’s super-shiny, hydrated, and healthy-looking. I am impressed by the smell and feeling. One thing I really like about this is the smell; it does becomes less potent after time though. It leaves my hair so soft, tangle free and smells good. Leaves a bit of shine too. It is oil texture but very light weighted. Highlighted ingredients are Maize Oil: Procaxi Oil; Argan Oil and Camellia Oil which adds suppleness and softness to your hair. It not only smooths and shine the hair but also nourishes at the same time. It’s more light a hair serum. I se this on my ends before drying/styling and i use it to keep frizz down when i wear my hair naturally curly/air dried. my hair is shiny and less frizzy, more manageable. I will be buying this again. Briogeo - Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Cream SIZE 4 oz/ 118 mL $30CAD I absolutely love this hair product! Leaves my hair feeling soft and moisturized and smells great! It is creamy texture with the lightweight finishing formula Infused with a Briogeo signature oil that smooths hair, enhances shine, tames frizz, and heat protects. The main formula is Rosehip Oil, Argan Oil and Coconut oil that protects hair from free-radical damages and extensive conditioning. I put it on my dry hair, especially after I use a flat iron. For about 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I applied this product and it blew out soft, smooth, and incredibly shiny. Now I used it on wet hair whether it is blown dry or dries naturally. I feel that it helps deter frizz and combat dryness against breakage, environmental impurities and excess heat. Overall this product gives my hair a great shine boost, and added moisture to my dry ends and does a fantastic job of protecting my hair from my blow dryer and curling iron. Recommend this to girls who uses irons frequently like me!

Ingredient highlight: Propylene Glycol
Ingredient highlight: Propylene Glycol
If you search the internet about propylene glycol you may not want to use any product that contains it. They talk about this is a carcinogenic and toxic ingredient, obviously nobody wants an ingredient with those characteristics on their skin. However it is a widely used ingredient that with a good structure turns out to be non-toxic and is used in medicine, cosmetics and food. Propylene Glycol is a odorless, colorless and insipid liquid that is soluble in water. It is produced synthetically by adding water to propylene oxide, derived from petroleum products. It is a moisturizing, solvent, emollient, and preservative ingredient that helps attract water and locks it into the skin, used in creams, lotions, serums, shampoos, and other skin care products. This ingredient helps the skin absorb moisture, as well as smoothing hair. Principal functions: 🧪 Attracts water: at low concentrations it acts as a humectant. Helps give skin a hydrated, moist appearance when used in cosmetics. 🧪 Lightly moisturizes: as a moisturizer it also hydrates and softens the skin without feeling sticky. 🧪 Safe for acne-prone skin: it is a non-greasy ingredient. 🧪 Prevents water loss: as an emollient, it creates a protective barrier that prevents water loss and softens the skin. 🧪 Enhances penetration: helps the active ingredients in cosmetics penetrate the skin better and be more effective. SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Joia Strengthening + Smoothing Conditioner Claims: a rich yet weightless conditioner that repairs and smooths for healthy hair that’s twice as strong. As I mentioned above, propylene glycol helps smooth and detangle hair, and this conditioner definitely makes styling easier. It also smells delicious. I have been using it for 6 months and I love how soft and manageable my hair is, as well as helping to control frizz and detangle it easily. HUDA BEAUTY - Yo Glow Facial Enzyme Scrub Claims: a gentle yet powerful exfoliator infused with pineapple and papaya enzymes, BHAs, and AHAs that leaves skin with a healthy glow. I previously reviewed this product and mentioned that it leaves the skin clean, smooth and glowy, some of the benefits that this ingredient gives to the skin. I have been using it for 3 months and I like the results. Skin type: combination, acne-prone. Skin concerns: dullness, dryness. Hair type: straight hair. Hair concerns: frizz.

What’s Under The Pink Wig! 💆🏾‍♀️
What’s Under The Pink Wig! 💆🏾‍♀️
I’ve been really on a healthy hair, skin, and nails journey and I think it’s time i share the products i’ve been using in my hair. For starters, For those who may be wondering i am 1000% au naturale. I had relaxed my hair for less than a year 5/6 years ago. I had dyed my hair Red last year and as you can see the color has grown up a lot ( i will not be re-dying, i like the overly grown out look). I do suffer from terribly dry scalp. I have medicated drops that i can put when my scalp when it’s flaring up & also a shampoo i use every month when washing my hair ( it’s very drying so i try not to use it every wash) I believe i have psoriasis in my scalp or something very similar to it so i really like to pay attention to my hair and oil and massage my scalp very often. As far as washing my hair goes I try to wash it every two weeks. when i’m washing my hair ( this is pertaining to the weeks in NOT using my medicated shampoo) I like to use #Curls - Creamy Curl Cleanser: sulfate free shampoo[products]#[FiveStars] then to deep condition i use Maui MOISTURE - Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask and i leave that in my hair (under a shower cap) and just let it penetrate through the hairs. To detangle my hair i use the #EZ Detangler Brush - EZ Detangler Brush[products]#[FiveStars] that moves with your hairs to stop pulling of the hair. Once i’m done washing my hair with a blow dryer but i like to start the hair on a cool setting then go in with the heat setting at the end. After i’m done drying and blown out i like to part my hair into four sections and braid them and also take the time to oil my scalp. i like yo use a mixture of #Sulfur8 - Anti-Dandruff & Medicated Conditioner[products]#[FiveStars] & Sunny Isle - THE ORIGINAL SUNNY ISLE JAMAICAN BLACK CASTOR OIL to oil and moisture my scalp and i put the caster oil on my edges too!

Viral Celeb Luxury Colorwash 🌺
Viral Celeb Luxury Colorwash 🌺
Have you ever wanted to try out a fun hair color but was too timid of the upkeep or maybe your workplace wouldn’t allow it?? OR If you already have fun colored hair, do you hate how fast it washes out???? * I do!* Then you TOTALLY need to try the Viral Celeb Luxury Colorwash! 🌈🌈🌈 This COLORFUL shampoo is meant to add in or refresh any unicorn 🦄, mermaid🧜🏼‍♀️, galaxy🪐 hair your heart desires! With one wash you will see color in your hair! I use it about once a week or if I know I’m going to be doing pictures (or going out when we were able to lol) ⭐️This is a SEMI PERMANENT hair color, meaning it will stain the cuticle (or outside layer) AND partially enter into the cortex (second layer) of the hair! Since it is a semi permanent color, it washes out very fast but DEPENDING on the color of your current hair and what color shampoo you choose, will impact the results of the final look! ⭐️ 💛If you have blonde hair, it will be more true to color and the pastel colors are for you! 🤎If you have light brown or red hair, the medium to darker colors will work for you! 🖤Dark brown or black hair, it could potentially change your hair color but only slightly! ‼️IMPORTANT THIS IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO USE LIGHTEN OR BLEACH HAIR AT HOME! PLEASE WAIT FOR A PROFESSIONAL TO BLEACH YOUR HAIR‼️ I have been using this product for over 5 years and personally have tried almost every color they sell! These are my two go to colors!!! The pastel pink is so fun to have and lasts ALOT longer than you might expect! The Lavender is great but sometimes appears to turn out blue or more of what I like to call blurple! I love to mix them together in my hair, or split my hair in half for a Harley Quinn effect! The options are endless!! BE CREATIVE, HAVE FUN & REMEMBER ITS JUST HAIR! 🤍 So if you are currently at home on quarantine, this is such a fun way to spice up your hair without hurting it in any way! If you have any questions on what color to buy, comment below and I would love to help you choose the best for your hair color! ❤️❤️ #cheriecreator #hairstyist #colorfulhair #unicorn

Is The Dyson AirWrap Worth It? (It’s not!)
Is The Dyson AirWrap Worth It? (It’s not!)
dyson - Airwrap Styler First things first, I got lucky and had Dyson credit & a discount which is the literal only reason I have this magical tool in my possession bc it is horrendously expensive & if you don’t wanna read this whole review (I talk too much, i get it) then simply put, it is absolutely NOT worth the investment. 📍My hair: very fine & dry, color treated, kinda sad overall 🤷🏼‍♀️ 📍Dolllas: Smooth & Control System $499 (what I have), entire system with all attachments $549 ❌Reccomend: Simply put, big fat NOPEEE (for not so simply put, see below) Now, if you find a sale or have all the time in the world to master the tool then I def say go for it because it’s amazing that you can do everything with one tool + all its fancy attachments. I think the best way to do this would be to break it down to attachment & talk about them inidicidually? So here goes: ✅Blow drying: This thing is MAGIC. I already have fine hair that dries fast but this baby has my hair going from wet to dry in like 7 minutes. AMAZING ok and hot without like being so hot you wanna die? ✅Firm smoothing brush: This is hard to get used to bc the base of the tool is so big but once you get a hang of it again, AMAZING. I was blown away that I could get a salon looking blowout legit sitting on my butt at my house. 1 or 2 YouTube tutorials and you’ll be a pro. ❌Coanda effect curlers - Now don’t get my wrong this whole curl-with-air thing is dope and feels like sorcery but they’re my least favorite attachment. I only use them like every once in a while if I have time because it takes FOREVER. Again I have thin hair and find that I have to told each section on the air for 10ish seconds then a couple more with the cold shot and it takes so long I wanna die by the time my hair is ready. Plus I have thin hair so if your hair is thick RIP bc idk how you’ll make it. If you’re dedicated though and not as lazy as me, you might love this bc the results are INSANE (see photo) like bombshell VS photo shoot amazing. And my hair holds curl really well as I’m naturally wavy but I’ve heard of people’s curls falling out in just a few short hours - so this I’m assuming is YMMV. Again as a general wrap up, it’s really not worth it. Save your money by buying a Dyson dryer on its own or drying brush (like revlon or Drybar) individually. #CherieCreator #Dyson
