I have come so far!! One month of dedication
It’s insane how far a little education on specific ingredients that target your skin needs will get you!! I am pharmacist who decided to use her medical research skills to look into ingredients that benefit and harm the skin. when I tell you I personally believe my skin has gotten better because of the products I removed more than what I have added. Many of the products marketed contain many irritants such as essential oils and fragrances that are just UNNECESSARY and harmful. ( it’s great marketing, but I don’t want to be putting that on my face anymore) I started off with very dehydrated skin, large pores, small pimples widespread across my face, black heads and HEAVY and STUBBORN hyperpingmentation. (I have normal/dry skin) I definitely tested out a lot of products which I did post before and after pictures in terms of results ( which I shall be sharing ) stay tuned !! I was able to clear my skin, but I am slightly struggling with stubborn hyperpigmentation ( but we all know that takes time) and the key is to be consistent and patient. In addition, I can’t figure out how to get rid of my eye bags whatsoever.. I know sleep and hydration are big factors but I wish I could do more... I am not such a beleiver of eye cream but if anyone has a product that they can swear by in decreasing eye bags ! I’m all for it If you guys have any advice on how I can better my skin quality please share!! And if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. This is my skin care routine as of right now: Morning: - YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill 16 oz. PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA (Salicylic Acid) Liquid Exfoliator - only three times a week - The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% ( dark spot CORRECTOR - my biggest thanks goes out to this ) -DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum ( DONT know if I’m seeing a huge difference) I will share another post on my thoughts on vitamin C BIODERMA - Atoderm Lait - hydrating and light consistency (dries very smoothly/ not tacky) CeraVe - Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 Face Lotion with Zinc Oxide Evening: YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Cleanser Refill 16 oz. Do You Need An Eye Cream?
Short answer? No. Long answer? No. Eye creams are all advertising- brands selling you a moisturizer in a smaller bottle and pretending it’s somehow superior to another moisturizer. It’s not. I love the eye creams I’ve featured in this photo, but moreso because they feel nice and I like a twenty-step skincare routine, not because they’re miracle cures. This skincare myth doesn’t offer long-term help for your puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, or wrinkles. Let’s talk about what does help them: • Puffiness and Dark circles are generally a genetic, lifestyle, and/or environmental issue. Allergies? See it around eyes. Not very hydrated? See it around eyes. Not enough sleep? See it around eyes. Drink more water, reduce sodium/alcohol/caffeine intake, get more sleep, and consult a doctor about any seasonal allergies. As well, the puffiness/dark circles may be due to fat distribution in the face, something that worsens with age. Wear sunscreen to preserve what collagen you can and visit a dermatologist to talk about filler for a visibly-noticeable long-term fix. Until then, I’m a fan of Glossier. - Stretch Concealer over Glossier. - Bubblewrap to keep my hereditary dark circles under control. • Fine lines and Wrinkles are a touchy subject. The main offense is a good defense: apply a fragrance-free (all good skincare should be fragrance-free though) moisturizer to your entire face- including around your eyes, where skin is thin and fragile. Repeat the process with sunscreen. Voila, you’ve staved off wrinkles another day! Want to try a more “active” approach? Lightly apply a collagen-stimulating peptide serum and/or a gentle retinol cream. However, when the fine lines and wrinkles have already developed, no topical product is going to be as effective as biting the bullet and getting some filler- I’d sooner save my $$$ for the dermatologist’s office than on an eye cream that claims to be able to erase years off my future crow’s feet.

It is a 70% water-based sunblock formulated with CICA. It gives the skin a moisturized finish without any stickiness and white cast. It is #crueltyfree and uses only EWG green ingredients” 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: ~ non-nano zinc oxide and titanium dioxide (faves) - UVA and UVB protection ~ centella asiatica - soothing, anti inflammatory ~ niacinamide - antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, lightening —————————- I love this product and been enjoying using it! Claims to contain 70% water, the formula is incredibly lightweight- feels like putting on a chemical sunscreen😦 It applies really smooth and doesn’t make me extra greasy. Does not cause breakouts or irritate my skin at all, nor sting the eyes. It doesn’t leave whitecast and works well even if I work in a humid environment. I can’t say for sure how well this works under makeup, but it does not pill when I use it with my Elta MD tinted sunscreen. This has also been excellent for my sensitive skin (I started retinoid🙈) having no fragrance is a big plus! However, it isn't as moisturising as I would like it to be. But not a big deal! I can always just use a good moisturizer underneath. Overall, I think this is the best kbeauty broad spectrum sunscreen i’ve ever tried so far. I can highly recommend! This is a huge win for me! —————————- 𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐲? retails between $11 and $19 for 60 ml depending on the different retailers | it’s currently $𝟏𝟎.𝟕𝟗 on 𝐬𝐭𝐲𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐚.𝐜𝐨𝐦 @stylevana_sv !!
