Face mask 🌸
This is another one of my favorite masks, clean pores deeply and also clean imperfections, has a beautiful blue color. The smell could not describe it but it is quite pleasant. After this mask I feel my face relaxed, clean and super fresh. I really feel the difference between before and after.🍃🍂 L'ORÉAL - Pure Clay Blemish Rescue Mask
How to (Temporarily) Shrink Your Pores in 1 Hour
What you might think are stubborn blackheads that you can’t remove, no matter how religiously you use salicylic acid, are actually sebaceous filaments, which are basically a combination of sebum (your skin’s natural oils), bacteria, dead skin cells, and even the single hair in your hair follicle that have all come together to create that annoying clogged pore. Unfortunately, the size of your pores is determined by your genetics, and they can’t be truly “shrunk,” no matter what a product claims. Although you can only temporarily reduce the appearance of your pores, it’s a pretty simple and extremely satisfying process known as “gritting.” I first learned about this process from Fifty Shades of Snail, whose process is well known in the online skincare community. The process uses three products — a BHA chemical exfoliant, like salicylic acid; a clay mask; and a cleansing oil — and takes about 1 hour max. It’s recommended that you do this in the morning, about once every few days, so this is a great way to indulge in some skincare self-care on the weekends! Below are my favorite products to use for gritting: COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid This is one of my favorite chemical exfoliants: it’s affordable, effective, and applies beautifully! I use this for gritting and for chemically exfoliating twice a week. AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay I only use this mask for gritting. I personally don’t find it helpful to regularly use clay masks, as I’ve found them to be a little too harsh for me, even with my oily/combination skin. I use raw apple cider vinegar to make my mask, which helps to lower the higher pH of the bentonite in the clay to a more skin-friendly level, which should be around 4-5. Simple Skincare Science has a great post about whether you should use water or raw apple cider vinegar to mix with your clay mask. There are other types of clay masks that might be more suitable for your skin type, like kaolin clay for dry or sensitive skin or French green clay that has more healing properties. This specific clay mask is just the most affordable and easily accessible option! Orgain - Organic Mct Oil Unflavored Okay, this is where things might get a little weird, but I use MCT oil as my cleansing oil. MCT oil is most commonly used in keto/low-carb diets as a source of energy. I use MCT oil on my skin because it’s extracted from caprylic acid, which does not cause problems for malassezia, or fungal acne. I have a huge bottle of C8 MCT oil from the brand Kiss My Keto that I decanted into a smaller vessel with a pump. The only downside is that because this oil wasn’t made with the intention of being used as a cleansing oil, it doesn’t emulsify when you clean it off your face. I get around that by using a lukewarm, damp towel to gently remove it. If you end up trying the “gritting” process, let me know what you think in the comments!

you’re using this wrong... 🤭
Chances are you’ve seen this mask before or you own it. Here’s what I’ve learned about using it! (For oily skin types) AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Don’t strip your face. Now, this isn’t to say you shouldn’t cleanse before masks. However, you shouldn’t be feeling squeaky clean before you use this mask. It is extremely effective and takes all the natural oils and moisture out of you skin. I like to pre rinse with warm water to soften up the oil buildup in pores, and then apply. Please don’t strip your face. I loveeeee the way my skin feels after bentonite clay, but I won’t use this mask more than necessary, which for me, tends to be about three times a month. It works great for stopping hormonal breakouts in their tracks. Bonus, it feels pretty nice to be able to mix your own amount with water (please don’t use Apple Cider Vinegar) and then apply & relax. All in all, this product is super strong and can be amazing as long as you don’t use it too often, or the wrong way. Three things I would not do: Use a cleanser beforehand. Use regularly. (More than once a week) Mix with apple cider vinegar. If you have combo skin with dry areas, try to avoid those areas when applying. Please always do your own research before buying any product and stay safe! 😘💕

My Go-To Face Mask!!
This is a product that has followed literally GENERATIONS in my family. I have been using this Mint Julep mask for years and it has definitely made it to my top 5 face masks and is always my go to. It is very refreshing on the skin and leaves my skin soft and beautiful for the next morning. This product is said to remove excess oils, extract impurities and minimize the appearance of pores (in which it indeed does.) This products main ingredient... Mint is a good product for our skin because it refreshes, treats acne, soothes irritation, and even slows aging. I give this product a 4/5 because although it is a fantastic face mask, it does take multiple uses to start really seeing results. But... if you're looking for a new affordable addition to your skin care collection, I highly recommend investing in this! This mask has certainly helped me with my struggles with acne over the years and is a must try! It is retailed for only $7.23 on amazon.

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
This is one of my absolute all-time favorite masks. It is marketed by Kiehl’s as “An efficacious Amazonian White Clay mask that helps minimize pores and detoxify skin” and it does so much more than that. My primary use of this mask is to control blackheads and blemishes but mainly blackheads. Since it is clay based it really draws a lot of oil, debris and toxins out of your skin. This in turn helps combat currently large pores and blackheads but it is also preventative. When used over time, since it helps minimize pore size and reduce oil it helps stop and prevent the development of blackheads, whiteheads, cysts, you name it but especially those blackheads because it helps pull out oil that is deep down in an exposed pore. It is a really stellar product I always have on hand in my skincare arsenal. Some might consider it pricey at $35 for a large jar, but honestly you only use it 1-2 times a week and a jar of that size will last 4-6 months. It has a thick and heavy consistency but is easy to spread all over the face. I would not recommend it for people who have dry skin as this will really make it drier but oily, acne-prone, combination and even normal skin are a good fit for this product. It helps balance out the skin and give it a nice clarity after 4-5 uses. The aloe in this product will also help facilitate healing of your skin. If you suffer from blackheads this mask is a must and depending on how severe your blackhead situation is, it could take more uses to see results but I strongly believe this will help anyone’s blackhead situation. I typically use it at night. Apply it to clean skin and use a thick layer over either the whole face or just the spots where you have blackheads/blemishes. Leave it on until it completely dries which is 20-30 min. Then wash it off your face and apply a nice moisturizer or leave it on the areas that you spot treated overnight and wash it off in the morning. This product is definitely worth the price and the time/effort. Kiehl's - Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

Quarantine maskin got me like...
Hey y’all! Quarantine has got ya girl SUPER LAZY, but it’s all good. Now is the time to be lazy right?? Lol I’m not big on masks often because I guess I just forget to use them and it can be messy and again, I’m lazy.. lol BUT I’ve been using this mask a lot more lately to help clear some congested pores and hopefully shrink my pores. ALGENIST - PERFECT Clarifying Pore Corrector Mask If you don’t mind a bloody red face mask then I’d definitely recommend this mask. Here’s my break down of the positives and the negatives. + interesting texture! Looks like clay but has a gel like texture to it. + smells like a clay mask and it’s not bad, not great, but tolerable. + helps pull out impurities in skin with the ingredient sulfur. + really pulls out that yucky stuff to leave your skin feeling clean, soft, and more plump. + noticeable improvement in little bump like blemishes. + sensitive enough for all skin types + has a slight cooling/tingling sensation. + quick 10 minute mask. - results for smaller pores take some more time than how quickly the blemishes disappeared. - MESSY MESSY MESSY. - will stain any clothing or towels, so be careful. - not the easiest mask to wash off, BUT really easy when washing off in the shower. Other wise I’d use a wash cloth to take off. Like all products there are some good and bad, but this one is 95% good. For the mess and stains this is more of a 4.5/5. What’s your favorite mask for pores and acne?

You've Seen it all Over For a REASON!
So you're a skeptic unsure of all these posts about the AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay ? Or maybe you're a loyal user looking for outside validation? Either way, you should read this!! I literally just got this yesterday and tried it right away. It was a bit of a gamble, because as you can see, I bought the huge package as that was the only one left at Target lol. But, without hesitation, I mixed the miracle powder with a mix of both water and apple cider vinegar per instruction. The apple cider vinegar made it smell detestable, so I'll probably cease to include that, but once on it wasn't too noticable. The mask goes on like your typical clay mask; smooth, cool, and refreshing. Then, it starts to dry. I left mine in for the maximum amount of time recommended (that is, for non-sensitive skin because my skin isn't very sensitive), a little over 25 minutes. I looked like a dragon! It dries in little scales that you can either rub off (don't recommend this) or gently scrub off with a towel and warm water. Be careful when removing the mask as if it is completely dry like mine was, it may be pretty irritating and take a while to remove. My skin was very red afterwards, but once that calmed down I was able to see the results! Okay, here's the part you're probably looking for. One word: WOW!! The mask seemed to literally just suck out all remains of oil, sebum, dirt, etc and my pores were cleaner than I've ever seen them! The blackheads I frequently get on my nose were no more! I'm completely astounded at the effectiveness of this online find. 10/10 would recommend!!
