The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Cream Review
☕️ A cup of Joe to start the day (I actually woke up at around 11 😏 'tis a good day). ☕️ I have been using @theinkeylist caffeine eye cream ever since I bought it during the @sephora VIB sale. I have been quite enjoying this cream! The consistency of it is more serum-like in that it feels quite more like a gel-cream rather than thick rich eye creams, which is what I look for in eye creams. On the Sephora website, this eye cream claims to “work wonders for the under-eye area” by assisting with de-puffing and brightening dark circles. It contains caffeine (of course) to combat puffiness, beautifeye (which is trademarked) to help with dark circles, and matrixyl 3000 (also trademarked) peptide to help support collagen production. I looked this product up on the cosdna website and it didn’t have any red flags or any ingredients that would cause acne or irritations which is a plus since I am very prone to milia around the under-eye area. I haven’t been using it for too long (about 4 days) but I absolutely love it. During that time of the month, my eye bags become seriously puffy as well as my lips. It’s pretty noticeable so my mom always points out that I started my period, just by looking at my eyes 😩. I started using this in the morning and it feels so good to just massage it into the under-eye area. It absorbs really well and the consistency is similar to the it’s skin eye creams that I love so much. It was hydrating and I definitely felt the cooling sensation calm down the puffiness. It didn’t make it completely go away but it just felt nice and I really enjoyed the feeling. I definitely think that this eye cream is worth the money because it was like $10 for 15 ml. 15ml is not a lot but I mean, it's for your under-eyes, you don’t need a lot of product there. I have a feeling I might repurchase this because I just the feeling it leaves. 5/5 recommend! A+++++! PS the last pic is just for my own giggles 😋 This was my second product from this brand and I definitely need to try more. What are your experiences with this brand? Let’s talk eye creams!
Eye creams are made to target concerns (dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, etc.) around the eye area, which is very sensitive. They are not necessary to a skincare routine but if you struggle with any of these issues, it can help. Here are some of my favorites (all under $30) and what they can help with. >$10 THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream (Brightens dark circles) $10-$20 REVOLUTION - Targeted Under Eye Serum 5% Caffeine (Brightens dark circles) PACIfICA - Vegan Collagen Recovery Eye Cream (Brightens dark circles, hydrates) Sweet CHEF - Turmeric + Vitamin C Booster Eye Cream (Brightens, hydrates) florence by mills - Look Alive Eye Balm (Brightens, reduces puffiness, hydrates) My personal fave :) $20-$30 NATURIUM - Retinol Complex Cream Retinol is best for severe fine lines but if you are going to use it, please make sure to keep your under eyes hydrated because it can be a little drying. HONEST - Honestly Bright Eyes Tinted Eye Cream (Hydrates while also covering dark circles)
Reviewing My Followers Skincare Routines pt. 1
Hey y’all! In today’s post I’ll be reviewing my followers skincare routines! I went through some of y’all’s accounts in search of some routines, then messaged everyone to make sure they were okay with me using their routines in this post! This is only pt. 1 because this post got wayyy to long to include everyone at once! Let me start by saying I’m not an esthetician or dermatologist, nor have I ever claimed to be. I am just a fellow skincare lover who knows a lot about ingredients in skincare. We’re starting off with @Chloe_McRae. Sometimes she decides to double cleanse, and when she does she starts with the#Holifrog - Kissimmee Vitamin F Therapy Balmy Wash[products]#[FourStars] which is $42 for 2.5 fl oz. This has a ton of great hydrating oils, as well as Vitamin F, which is great for helping cell turnover. I would say it’s a great first cleanse for those with dry skin. Next she uses theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample which is $32. I would say this is a good cleanser. The cleansing agents are gentle and non stripping, and it also has glycerin which is hydrating, and cantaloupe fruit extract which is a hydrating extract full of antioxidants. Other than that, this is a pretty basic cleanser. Next she uses the HERBIVORE - Prism 20% AHA + 5% BHA Exfoliating Glow Facial l which is $58. Because the name is confusing, it’s a gel face mask. This stuff looks gorgeous and the ingredients are too. Along with AHA and BHA, it has aloe and rose water which help your skin to retain moisture. I don’t think it’s worth $58, but it’s pretty good. Next is the PEACH & LILY - Wild Dew Treatment Essence which is $39 for 3.38 fl oz. This essence has glycerin, Nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid. For $39 I expected a lot more. In general, essence is less effective than a serum, so this seems a little expensive for what you get. Then comes theDRUNK ELEPHANT - Sweet Biome Fermented Sake Hydrating Spray which is $42. Yes, $42 for a face mist. Now looking at the ingredients this has glycerin and a small amount of Hylaronic acid. The rest of the ingredients are extracts. Thankfully there isn’t fragrance, but this is a no because it’s so expensive. And finally is the COSRX - BHA Blackhead Power Liquid which is $24. Really this has some Willow water and Nicinamide and that’s it. Okay I freaked out at this point. Nowhere in this routine is sunscreen or moisturizer!!! Nooooo!! We need less acids and more of the basics. Overall I’d say this routine has too many steps. I think you could simplify down to a double cleanse, a cheap but good serum with Hylaronic acid and Nicinamide which seem to be the ingredients that work well for your skin, and the a moisturizer and some spf. Our next routine comes from @WillWorkforMascara. She starts her routine with theCeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin w is $17. This product is great for oily skin, which she has. It has glycerin, nicinamide, and Hylaronic acid so it’s super hydrating. Next she usesThe Ordinary - Glycolic Acid 7% Toning Solution witch is $8.70. Along with glycolic acid, it has aloe vera water and glycerin. Some people think it’s overly stripping, but for oily skin its great. Now this is where this routine becomes international. She goes in with theMUJI - Boosting Essence Lotion which is $7 for 50 ml. This essence has aloe vera juice and glycerin. It does have quite a bit of fragrance though which makes it a no from me. Next she goes in with the#Pearlessence - Argan Oil + Vitamin E facial oil[products]#[ThreeStars] which is $11.89 for 1.83 fl oz. This product has two ingredients. Vitamin E and Argan oil. Now this is where we really go international. #Human Nature - Sunflower Eye Cream[products]#[TwoStars] and found out that 295 Cuban Peso is $12.29. Now as for the ingredients this eye cream has sunflower oil and glycerin. And fragrance. Fragrance can especially be irritating around the eye area so this is another no. Instead try some thing likeTHE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream She also uses a eyebrow and eyelash oil called Peach Thy Lash which is 150 Cuban Peso or $6.25. I don’t know anything about this kind of product so I can’t really say if it works. And finally is theLANEIGE - LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask which is $22. This mask has Vitamin C, Hylaronic acid, and glycerin. It seems good to me, but this sort of product is more about the experience, and I haven’t tried it. Again! We need moisturizer and sunscreen! This one also has too many steps so let’s simplify it to cleanser, toner, moisturizer, sunscreen, eyelash oil, and lip mask. Unfortunately this post would be super long if I included everyone, so look out for pt. 2 coming soon! Please cheer for this post if you liked it, comment below your holy grail skincare products, and follow me to join the family and for similar content! -Mae

Sephora Sale: tried & true with some new! 🛍
If you haven’t yet stopped by Sephora for the holiday sale, make sure you do! The sale ends 11/9 and Beauty Insiders get 10% off, VIBs have 15% off, and Rouges have 20% off! Shop soon to take advantage of the sale for holiday shopping or a treat for yourself! TATCHA - The Liquid Silk Canvas: Featherweight Protective Primer - I absolutely love this primer! As a person with combination skin, I try to not use heavy primers so that my pores aren’t clogged and my makeup doesn’t last, but this primer is so light. In addition to making your skin look great by blurring pores and lines while reducing oil, the floral fragrance and packaging are beautiful. On light makeup days, I love wearing this, spot concealer, and a light round of setting powder as a base. Kiehl's - Ultra Facial Toner - This is a new find for me that I picked up the other day and have already seen incredible results from! My typical combination skin has been dry in patches on my forehead and nose making it hard for me to wear foundation and or see any effects from my other skincare products. I decided to change my toner after seeing some reviews of this online and I’m so glad I picked it up. The fragrance is minimal, if any at all, and the hydrating properties are simply incredible. My skin feels smooth and the dry flakes have vanished over two days. Yesterday, I was able to wear my foundation for the first time since the summer without my skin feeling tight or having to slather on moisturizer. If you struggle with dry skin, take advantage of the squalane in this toner to revamp your skin! NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer - I purchased this concealer after hearing Mikayla rave about it on tik tok and needing a replacement for my benefit - Benefit Boi-Ing Industrial Strength Concealer that I’ve used for about a year! In comparing the NARS and Benefit, the NARS concealer has about twice the product! I’m incredibly pleased with this concealer’s ability to blend into the skin, be matte while not drying, and the pot packaging! If you’re looking for something to coverup a spot here and there, this is it. fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Oil-Infused Serum - I have an undying love for fresh products that began with thefresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 about two years ago. Since then, I have tried thefresh - Rose Face Mask , fresh - Rose Deep Hydration Toner , fresh - Lotus Anti- Aging Daily Moisturizer , and many more. This product is no exception and is one that is hydrating while not greasy. I’m totally aware that oil in the name can be unappealing, but it provides a nice healthy glow, softens, soothes, and absorbs so quickly. This is great face serum/oil that I recommend to people with dry, combination, normal skin and those who are not sensitive to fragrance.
Pink ladies 💅🏼
Loving the packaging on these guys! Glossier. - Cloud Paint Seamless Cheek Color love this stuff, but not quite as much as expected. I got the puff color, and while I love the color, it’s too pigmented for me. I end up having to rub it all over my cheeks just to make the color a bit lighter, then half my face is pink, instead of just the spots I want. It may be user error though, so I’ll keep trying. It truly lasts throughout the day, and I love the texture—super smooth on my cheeks. KYLIE COSMETICS - Kylighter this is meh for me. Again, possibly too pigmented. It really just takes a single swipe of the brush and you are good to go with pretty intense highlight. fresh - Sugar Lip Treatment Sunscreen SPF 15 I was so excited to buy this stuff because the reviews are amazing! However, since I was getting it more for the chapstick/SPF purposes, I wish it wasn’t quite so dark on my lips. It really looks like lipstick, but the color doesn’t last like a lipstick. tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush For the life of me, I cannot get this stuff to stick on my makeup brush. No color comes off, so I’ve pretty much given up on making it work. Hanskin - Hyaluron Skin Essence I use this when my skin is feeling extra dry, usually paired with my moisturizer! I haven’t noticed a huge difference when I use it, however. KYLIESKIN - Vitamin C Serum this is the first Vitamin C serum I have used, so I don’t have much to compare it to, and therefore don’t want to give it a super high or super low rating! I really like the consistency—it feels more like a moisturizer, but sinks into the skin quickly. It smells slightly odd, but that didn’t bother me. Overall, I think it was somewhat brightening for me, but I didn’t feel like I saw a major change. Glossier. - Wowder Weightless Finishing Powder love this stuff a lot on my skin, but the packaging is frustrating. It has sort of a net material on the inside, making it kind of difficult to get powder out. I do feel like it sits nicely on my face and lasts throughout the day, just wish I didn’t have such a hard time getting it out!
Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum
THE inkey LIST - Caffeine Eye Cream What am I? A caffeine eye serum designed to de puff the skin and reduce dark circles. The product claims to “reinforce the skins natural defense against environmental aggressors.” This product targets skin concerns such as aging, dark or tired eyes, and sagging skin. This serum has a really cool gel like texture that pats easily into the skin and absorbs quickly with no tackyness that some eye serums have. What do I think about it? When this brand first came to Sephora I couldn’t decide what to try first. I was checking this serum out, and when they released a limited edition set that had this in it, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve had this now for about a month, and have been using it on and off. This eye serum definitely does help to tighten up the area around my eyes and make me look a little more awake. I don’t have dark circles so I can’t speak to that effect but I will say that I don’t think there’s anything especially brightening about this serum. I like to use this on days when I’m not planning on going out, but I usually reach for a different eye cream when I’m getting ready for work and want something with brightening benefits. It’s not a bad product by any means. It feels really cooling on the skin, and you could even still use this during the day and then layer another brightening eye cream on top. For those in their early 20s or someone just getting started with skincare, this would be a great introductory product. Would I recommend it? Overall, I think it’s worth a try. The Inkey List has super low prices and this serum retails for under $10 so if you have nothing to lose by picking it up!

Hydrating Eye Serum
Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Dew It Right Eye Gel This is an eye serum to make the eye area dewy and hydrated. It’s target concerns are dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and dryness. It has a great consistency a little less liquidity than a typical serum but still not thick enough to be considered a cream. It feels like a hyaluronic gel almost but with a tint of yellow. I got this serum because my eyes always are looking for a lil extra love and hydration. I have used it for over a month and absolutely love it. It’s insanely hydrating and nourishing. My eyes literally feel so much brighter! I would recommend buying this product bc while it is almost $50 for the full size it lasts for ever and is so good! Pictured is the mini size and I use the amount on my finger for both eyes and it will probably last about 2-3 months total! So the bigger size will last even longer and lets face it eye creams are expensive if you want an amazing one!

The Inkey List Caffeine Eye Serum
I must admit that I was super skeptical about any kind of eye cream, I thought it was overhyped. I was only certain I wanted to try something from the Inkey List because of their low price point and wanted to see if it compared to The Ordinary or The Good Molecules, to my surprise, it performed just as well! - I do also admit that while I don’t use this eye cream absolutely every morning and night like suggested, I do see quick benefits when I apply it on my no makeup days. I love prepping my skin in the morning an quickly tapping a small amount of this cream to depuff my under eyes in less that 2 mins. It makes me look well rested, even if that’s far from the truth. I can say that i have to be careful when tapping this around the contour of my eye because can start to sting if too close to my water line. - I would love to recommend this to anyone who is looking to depuff and energize their eye, quickly. I wish I was more consistent so that I can speak more towards the longer term benefits. At only $9.99 on Sephora you can’t beat it! It’s a great low budget purchase. I’ve purchased one for my mom who has been bugging me about her bags looking like laundry bags 😭
THE inkey LIST-Caffeine Eye Cream
The origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream to Brighten and Depuff is such an amazing eye cream for while now. I have been using it for while now and it’s just so amazing. I use it every morning and it does the job. The cream makes my eyes look awakened and bright. A little goes a long way and I have been using it for months now. You don’t need a lot, just a dab under each eye. The dark circles have been visibly less now and it brightens my eyes. I put this on in the morning and it has really diminished the dry textures I used to experience sometimes. Having dry skin, sometimes my under eye would go dry and with this, it doesn’t anymore. I have been using this cream for so long now. I just have to use this every day!

Solid Eye Cream
I’ve been using this as my day time eye cream on and off for a few months. It’s said to brighten the under eyes by diminishing the appearance of dark circles and puffiness. It contains caffeine, ginseng root extract, and caffeine. It’s fragrance free which I enjoy. It has a thick texture and the color of the cream does help brighten the under eyes. But I haven’t seen any long term improvement with this product. I’ve noticed that as I’ve used this product more it has started to irritate my under eyes a little bit. It burns and I get some irritation once in a while using this so I have to be careful. For that reason I give this product a 4/5. I wouldn’t recommend it for sensitive skin.

The Inkey List - Caffeine eye cream
What is it? Caffeine from The Inkey List is a lightweight eye cream. Actually, the texture is more like serum than cream. Caffeine is full of antioxidants that come naturally from Coffee beans. The brand claims it will hydrate your under eyes. It will help reduce dark circles and puffiness. While it was hydrating, i did not see those other results. How MY skin feel: I have been using this eye serum for about 3 weeks: I like how it hydrates and moisturizes perfectly under my eyes during my morning routine (I need a heavier texture in the PM) Texture: it is lightweight and doesn’t clog my pores. It might be enough for someone who doesn’t have too much concern about under eyes. Or teenage girls who are looking for affordable eye cream to start out. I give it 2/5 stars ⭐️⭐️ For the texture, price, and packaging. 15 ml. $9.99 ( USA ) P.S. I would not repurchase, but I would like to try their other products. I love the idea of this less is more, or single ingredient for each product of the brand.
