My go-to routine for the last 3 months
This routine has really helped put a halt on the heavy formation of hyperpigmentation! I have to admit, I’m a guilty pimple popper 😬 I HATE seeing them on my face and i know a pimple patch or spot treatment would be best but the anxiety in me will literally not let me stop thinking about a pimple the moment it pops up on my face 😭 overall with this routine I’ve noticed my skin dullness completely disappear and my skin is looking so much more plump and hydrated lately! I get pretty frequent acne but this is about the clearest my skin has looked in a really long time. I’m very wary when adding tools to my skincare routine but this Venus device is so dope! It has 4 different LED light settings (purple, green, red, blue) to combat different skin issues, it heats up and vibrates to really help stimulate the skin and for better product absorption. My favorite part is the fact that there’s a GREEN light option which is known to help with uneven tone (a godsend). With that and the addition of EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) to tone and tighten face muscles to keep us looking snatched and plump! This little machine does it all! Here’s to clearer skin and working on ourselves in 2021 🔥 I still also use the SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask

Weekly Face Routine
I Love Sand&Sky!! The first time I tried their pink clay mask was when I was subscribed to Ipsy. They sent me a trial size and I was hooked. After using the mask the first time my face instantly looked more radiant. It was incredible. I’m definitely the girl that feels like nothing really works but this really does have my skin glowing. After that first try I didn’t buy it again because it is pretty pricey, but I always said when I could I would so I did! I added the emu Apple mask and dreamy glow drops too just cuz! I love it all!! it’s my weekly routine. Leaves my face so smooth and youthful. If you haven’t tried Sand&Sky you need to right now :) . Hydrating Masks: Sand & Sky Emu Apple
SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Super Bounce Mask i’m actually obsessed with this mask. from the texture to the hydration of it. it doesn’t dry down so your skin doesn’t get cracked like a normal clay mask will and it left my skin looking hydrated and glowing. i used it after the enzyme powder in the SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Mega Glow Kit and followed up with the SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Dreamy Glow Drops SAND&SKY - Australian Emu Apple Enzyme Powder Polish haven’t noticed a difference in washing my face with this, and probably not gonna be a staple in my routine, but i use it occasionally maybe once a week :) !
MDNA SKIN COLLECTION🖤
I read up on this cream and was so fascinated by the concentration of mineral-rich Montecatini Thermal Water which can only be found in Montecatini, Italy. So cool! The decades old mineral content of that water is said to have amazing properties for the body health overall and skin health. MDNA skin being one of the only brands with access to that sacred water therefore calling it “holy water”. I’ve used it on and off when my skin needs an extra pick-me-up of moisture. It runs on the pricey side: $250.00. But I can say I truly love how lightweight yet effective this cream is and pluming the skin with a surge of hydration without the clogged pores MDNA SKIN - The Finishing Cream I also team this up with the MDNA SKIN - MDNA SKIN The Face Wash and the MDNA SKIN - The Serum to help brighten up any discoloration and even out the skin tone while further plumping up the skin with hydration. With key ingredients Apple Stem Cells, Peptides & Triple Hyaluronic Acid Complex. My favorite product of the entire line has to be the MDNA SKIN - MDNA SKIN The Eye Serum Essential for daily eye care, THE EYE SERUM nourishes, soothes and helps radically transform the look of puffiness, dark circles and fine lines. Powered by Aqua Capsule Technology, this lotus eye serum's encapsulated ingredients are slowly released for optimal absorption and deep hydration. Naturally mineral-rich Montecatini Thermal Water (HOLY WATER) replenishes and rebalances. Hydrating hyaluronic acid, lotus flower extract and biosaccharide helps this eye serum visibly restore and reinvigorate tired eyes. Truly a miracle in a bottle for my tired eyes. Price: $180.00 I’ve talked about these rollers as well in a previous post so please refer back to that one for information on those :) MDNA SKIN - THE BEAUTY ROLLER MDNA SKIN - THE BEAUTY ROLLER FOR EYES
LED LIGHT THERAPY MASK
Everyone who’s used this kind of mask has seemed to love it so far. Picked this one up from Amazon for $40! It’s crazy considering you have celebs ripping people off and charging an outrageous $200 for literally the same mask I got for a quarter of the price. So far I’ve used it for less than a week and I’m really loving how well my acne has been improving along with my new and simpler skincare! My AM and PM routine are: TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener slurp - Niacid slurp - Hyaluid Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel With this simple routine my skin has been making a huge turn around and my acne and some scars I have are really starting to heal up beautifully. For now I’ll continue to use this for the next month consistently to see how well my skin improves. Update: used the mask for a while and noticed no difference, the quality was just not there. Not to mention there’s was an issue with the unit turning off way before it was even done. I would not recommend this product at all. Save your money and buy a high quality led light therapy mask or hand tool instead.

New moisturizer alert!✨
So I took the advice of many on my last post and decided to drop the Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel . I was disappointed to do so, considering I have had such great luck in the past with other Murad products, but sadly this wasn’t it for me! Although this stuff went on like BUTTER, I found out it had some pretty heavy duty sulfate properties in it, which is a big no-no for my pores and acne prone skin. The fragrance was also incredibly strong, which I didn’t quite mind as that stuff has never truly bothered me in the past, but after a weird breakout once incorporating that product, as well as the COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence, and reading all the kind and helpful replies, I said goodbye to the moisturizer and returned it for.....🥁🥁🥁 COSRX - Propolis Light Cream !!! Now, finally an entire K-Beauty routine!! I have only been using the cream for about two days, however, it’s genuinely as soft as the Murad moisturizer , if not more. Plus, NO fragrance! and NO sulfates!!!! The last two days I’ve woken up, my skin has for once felt so hydrated in the morning, not too oily, and not too dry! I will keep tabs on this one for sure, before I give it too much credit, but I think she’s likely to stay safe and sound in my routine 😂 Have you ever tried this product? What did you think?!
This Moisturizer Saved My Skin
I lost a real one today guys. Through some of my worst skin moments the Murad - Nutrient-Charged Water Gel has been with me through it all. My skin is very acne prone so I needed an oil free moisturizer that would intensely hydrate my skin. This fits the bill perfectly. It’s so so rich and feels amazing and cooling on the skin. It is very lightweight, but the feeling does linger on your skin for a while. It’s not enough for me to take marks off because of how hydrating it is though. The product claims you only need a dime sized amount, but I definitely use more than that (maybe a quarter size?) every time. It is quite expensive coming in at $62 for 1.7 oz, but I can’t say enough about how amazing it is so if you have oily, acne prone skin, but still need hydration I highly recommend you try this out. PS the last of my product did end up drying up into a solid gel, but due to it being a water based product you can go ahead and add a few drops of tap water to reconstitute it and it’s good as new!!

Updated Night Routine!
I had a lot of empties in January, so here is my updated night routine! I have a post detailing actives that I use and my schedule around those actives, so they won’t be included in this post. My first step is my double-cleansing step, I use the Dr Dennis Gross - Hyaluronic Marine Makeup Removing Meltaway Cleanser (📍)to remove SPF and makeup, which I really love, it’s very unique, but it doesn’t break me out at all. Then I use the LANEIGE - Cream Skin Milk Oil Cleanser (📍) to cleanse a second time, I really enjoy this too, my skin tends to freak out when it comes to Laneige’s fragrance, but this is fragrance-free!! After cleansing I steam my face with the Dr Dennis Gross - Pro Facial Steamer which I feel like has really helped the hydration levels of my skin. After that I’ll apply the TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener (📍)which I also like, but I’m not sure how much it’s really done for my skin for what it’s worth. I’ll steam again, for about 30 seconds and then go into my PETER THOMAS ROTH - Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Serum which is the only serum that can truly repair my moisture barrier when I’m breaking out. Then my eye product is The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (📍)which I’ve been loving a lot too! My current winter moisturizer is the Dr. Jart+ - Ceramidin Cream which again, I like, but it feels like it puts a barrier on my skin, which kind of felt weird to begin with. After moisturizer, my last two steps are to treat any breakouts or spots with the Murad - Blemish Control Rapid Relief Spot Treatment and use something to lock it all in like the The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Moroccan Argan Oil it does the job, but smells super weird. The only way I’ve been able to describe it is, picture the olive bar at a local grocery store, and the smell that comes from that. Not super pleasant, but it’s okay. 📍= product was sent to me for free
My skincare (normal to oily sensitive skin)
My current routine! I have ups & downs & some I want to improve but this is what it’s currently at! Not pictured: TATCHA - Calming Foaming Enzyme Powder Absolutely love! Was going back & forth between this version & the one for oily skin but this one is juuuuuust right for my picky skin!! Pictured: (in order of use) TATCHA - The Essence Plumping Skin Softener Omg-it’s a game changer! This stuff may just look like fancy water (lol who am I kidding-I use evian - Brumisateur Natural Mineral Water Facial Spray so yeah-THATS fancy water but I love it! lol) but this stuff is 100% the real deal! I’ve noticed that products glide one & I don’t have as much of the shiny effect after putting on my skincare routine! Yay! DRUNK ELEPHANT - Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum Ok so warning on this one-you’ll never use a full pump unless you share with 2 other people at the same time-this pump is stupid-I hate it but the product so far has done a good job & hasn’t made me run to go find a new one right away-could it be improved...? Yeah-but it’s a good option for me for now 😊 also-I don’t like using this by itself cuz it’s drying... so for a fix to that I added.... DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream One again-you don’t need a full pump unless you’re sharing-no one has that much surface area to cover with this...ugh. This is the step that was missing when I just was using the firming serum-this is hydrating & goes after because it’s thicker. The combo works for me. Would I rather have 1 product? Yes. Would I rather have a better pump that doesn’t portion out share sizes of product? Yes.... am I rushing to Sephora to find a new one? Ha! No.... Curology - Curology formula My 2 cents on those people who hate this? It’s not for you & that’s ok! But dang does this work for me!! It’s a must have!! Love it!! -or- never and DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum I haven’t used this enough to rate but this is supposedly suppose to help with dark spots & pores? We shall see tester size...we shall see... TATCHA - The Water Cream Omg moisture heaven! Smells like a spa, glides on like a dream AND has gold in it? Sign me up! This stuff is amazing-I love it & it does wonders for me! Add ons! TATCHA - THE SERUM STICK Not in love-good for dry spots or singular areas every once in a while but meh-not worth it & not a fave of mine. TATCHA - Luminous Dewy Skin Mist Also-not in love. Is it nice when I’m dried out? Yeah! Does it last? Nooooot really? Meh-I have it I’ll use it & I won’t buy again... TATCHA - Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 PA+++ Meh-this is just....meh. Again will use it up & not rebuy....

Such a healthy glow going this morning my skin is looking amazing honestly better then it ever has, it’s winter months here in Canada now and I just switched from the tatcha water cream to the dewy cream because I needed something more thicker and hydrating because my skin was getting dry and flakey even though I have oily skin in the summer but in the winter it’s dry but dense switching my cleanser to the rice wash from the deep cleanse no more dry skin! TATCHA - The Dewy Skin Cream TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser
This is my one month update on my skin. I have been using tretinoin cream every 3 nights & and the clindamycin phosphate lotion morning and night. I then decided to change my skincare routine to a Korean & Japanese skincare, and I’m very happy I made the choice. On December 3rd I went to get a customized facial and my esthetician told me I have acne that is clogged pores underneath my skin, so she did a deep extraction and in another few weeks I’m going to get one more done just to make sure they are all out. FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm I was using the dhc deep cleaning oil but it was too thick for me so I switch to this and it is light and not stripping, good for a oil cleanse or a first cleanse TATCHA - The Rice Wash Skin-Softening Cleanser this cleanser is a nice hydrating cleanser and it does not strip my skin at all Krave - Kale-Lalu-yAHA I just started using this exfoliant but I really like it and I seen results right after I used it Krave - Great Barrier Relief this serum is another I just started using but I love it, and it have a nice smell to it Krave - The Beet Shield this sunscreen does not leave a white cast on my face, and I don’t feel greasy after PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster this products is helping me get rid of my acne marks that I have from my facial PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Niacinamide Booster I just love this! This is helping with my acne and dark marks dear, klairs - Fundamental Water Gel Cream I have to use a light weight moisturizer so it won’t clog my pores
Just realized that I’ve never posted about my favorite local brand yet so here’s one dedicated to them! In Her Element is all about using only the cleanest of ingredients (no fillers whatsoever!) and seeking new formulations that is highly effective. They promise only one thing: maximum glow for minimum effort—which I am all about. Low pH Rose Gel Cleanser - one of my top 3 favorite cleansers ever. This has a pH level of 5.5-6 (perfect for maintaining your skin’s moisture barrier) and contains active botanical ingredients that gives you brighter skin. Lathers just the right amount and smells absolutely beautiful! Glow Job 5% Glycolic Gel Cream - I’m going to be honest, I haven’t used this consistently enough but just to give a little info, claims to get rid of dark spots and dull skin gently. Has AHA that is able to penetrate into your skin to unveil bright skin. Petal Skin Rose Toning Essence - so good I’m almost done with it. Rose water infused with anti-oxidants and niacinamide to clear up your complexion. Great for that layered skin method for extra moisture so you can use less products in your routine. Petal Skin Rose Clay Mask - features rose water with rose clay to get rid of impurities as well as glycolic acid to quicken dead skin turnover. Out of all the masks I’ve used this burns the sides of my nose the most but I actually like it, that way I know that it actually works!
Good Science Beauty Re-Skin Renewing Polishing Powder: made with turmeric powder, bentonite clay, sandalwood, jojoba oil and vitamin E. I have SUCH a soft spot for cleansing powders. To use this guy, you’ll wet your hands and pour in a bit of this clay-based powder, and massage into your skin for a gentle removal of dead skin cells and a deep clean of the pores. Hy Hydrating Face Cream: made with hyaluronic and marine omega-3, this guy is meant to lock moisture in your skin for a plumping effect, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and boost lipid content to restore your skin’s natural barrier. Br Skin Brightening Cream: made with glutathione and melatonin, this babe here is supposed to safely even out the appearance of dark spots, remove impurities from the skin, and reinforce the skin’s natural renewing process. Fi Skin Firming Cream: this one is made with barley extract and poria cocos, and it’s supposed to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and provide intense moisture. Purifying Face Mask: an extension of their very first product! I’m extremely excited about this one, you guys. Formulated for blemish prone skin aggravated by city living, this guy is meant to combat the skin damaging effects of pollution and help reduce oiliness and the appearance of blemishes, as well as unblock pores and replenish the skin.

Fresh af Morning Routine ☀️
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser great for all skin types as it cleans without stripping. CAUDALIE - Grape Water great refreshing water filled with a great antioxidant, resveratrol which is anti-aging as well. Perfect before makeup, after makeup, during the day or as a refresher💁🏼♀️ THAYERS - Cucumber Facial Mist mine doesn’t have a mister, but this product is awesome and does not irritate at all. I even use it on my eyes and there’s zero stinging. Leaves your skin prepared for your other skin caring steps. Goos to use as a cleanser before makeup when your feeling lazy 😅 FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry Good serum, not bothersome, could be a bit tingly when you start using it if you’re sensitive. Skin looks brighter but it’s definitely a slower worker than other vitamin C’s. I would say the serumy consistency and other soothing ingredients make it a recommendation from me to my sensitive skin peers out there. (MALIN+GOETZ) - Revitalizing eye gel Definitely a gel but it’s almost a cream gel hybrid. My undereyes are really dry and this product really hydrates them and serves as an undereye primer as well without feeling like a grease ball. Definitely recommend if you’re undereyes are dry and need some hydration (*not moisturizing just hydration*) Curél - Moisture Facial Milk Great day time moisturizer especially for summer time and for those who have dry/normal to oily skin. Not those it only protect your skin barrier with it’s ceramide filled formula but it softens and hydrates, keeping skin smooth and supple. Tip: if you want more hydration or glow just add some drops of any oil you have or mix it with another moisturizer that might be to heavy on it’s own and voila, you got yourself a summer time moisturizer ✨👌🏻 L'ORÉAL - Pure-clay Cleansing Mask for Dull Skin definitely brightens and pulls gunk out from the skin, the only downside would be that it is pretty drying but when you’re skin feels really congested and gross I definitely recommend this. Tip: use as spot treatment to suck out the inflammation and gunk from the pimples. Hope as always that you found my reviews useful and my video informative any questions feel free to always ask🧡 Ps. I used Good Molecules Niacinamide before applying the Vit C. Sorry it wasn’t recording😫
THAYERS-Cucumber Facial Mist
My Deep Cleanse Routine
I wanted a deep cleanse tonight: Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser - This is deep pore cleansing and glow revealing with an added 5% glycolic acid. Pixi Glow Mud Mask- To purify and draw out impurities. This can also be used as a spot treatment. Mario Badescu Orange blossom and Aloe facial spray- Spritz of this to prep my face for application of serum. This smells so lovely and is so refreshing in this heat... I've been using it all day to cool me down. The Ordinary -Buffet- A multi peptide complex serum with Hyaluronic acid for hydration and anti-ageing benefits. This serums helps to improve the look of static wrinkles in the skin and increase skin firmness. Weleda Skin food- I only dab this on areas that tend to get dry and where i have wrinkles forming. Herbivo Rebotanicals Phoenix facial oil- finishing off with this super nourishing and hydrating oil, it contains co enzyme Q-10 which is fab for increasing collagen production and improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I just wished it smelt better as I really don't like the smell of it 🤦🏼♀️but I suppose there's no added fragrance so I can't complain too much.

Dermotologist Advice You Don't Want To MissA roundup of the best tips from cherie's derm panel with Dr. Mina and Dr. Cula.Jan. 21
My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
