Got Dark Circles?Color correct with Red Lipstick

Let's face it; dark circles are inevitable. Yes, you can get rid of them, but until then, you can do this simple hack to make sure they aren't peaking through your makeup. For newbies, color correcting can be a little intimidating, but don't worry; you will get the hang of it.
On a fresh face, take a simple red or orange lipstick, and with your finger start dabbing it onto your under eyes, a little goes a long way, so try not to overdo it. To make sure that you cover your entire under-eye area, draw a large upside-down triangle. This should reach from the corner of your inner eye to the bottom of your nose to about an inch past the outer corner of your eye.
Blend it as much as you can until it's just a tint of red or orange. Now you can move onto either applying your concealer or go straight to the foundation. I don't use concealer so I just put foundation on top. If you feel like you can still see the red or orange then apply a concealer to mask the color and use a little less red next time.
Don't forget to set it with some translucent powder! This will help keep everything in place throughout the day.
Fun Fact: The reason this helps correct dark circles is because there are tints of blue and green in dark circles. In color theory, the color that is opposite of it (red and orange) will neutralize the color (this also applies when you're toning blonde hair which is why you use purple shampoo to get rid of yellow) I love to use MILANI - Color Statement Matte Lipstick
in 07 Best Red because it gives a little bit of a sticky surface, which means your makeup isn't going ANYWHERE. Also, if you are looking for a cheap drug store brand lipstick, this is the best, especially for a red because it doesn't bleed! And it feels comfortable and smooth on your lips 💋

Concealer mistakes I used to make
Concealer mistakes I used to make
The biggest under eye concealer mistake I used to make was NOT using a color corrector before applying concealer. The first photo I applied concealer directly and the under eye circles are still quite prominent In the second photo the only difference is I first applied a color corrector to the dark areas of the circles, then afterwards dabbing the concealer on top. I think you can see a very noticeable difference between the two pictures! tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer best. Concealer. Ever. Kaja - Cat Nap Under Eye Brightener This is not my usual color corrector but I decided to try something new. It’s a bit too dark for my skin tone but it still works! It’s also a little too thin and watery for my liking overall.

How to Use a Red Lipstick 💄as a Concealer?
How to Use a Red Lipstick 💄as a Concealer?
Need a color corrector to help cover your under-eyes? I have a wheatish skin tone and shadows of dark circles under my eye. Today I want to share how I use a red lipstick as under-eye bag concealer. This beauty hack is aim to ideally cover and masking signs of fatigue under eye area..I’ve seen a lot of tutorials and tried it out myself, I do found that those dark circles will be gone in no time. I read many reviews and did see a lot of complaints on this hack as a fail. However, it is the techniques that’s makes the difference on fail or holy grail. You can use red lipstick to conceal dark under eye circles. What I did is to apply a thin layer around my under eye area, Dab a little under the eye lids with my fingers. I am using a creamy semi matte lipstick from loreal. ( I just found this one that I havent been using for at least half a year)Then, I use a small makeup brush to evenly blended out and gently pat it in. After that, I would cover with my concealer!  This way it covers the redish. You can also choose to blend it out together with a beauty blender. Then I just apply a thin layer of foundation and use loose powder to finish it up.
This hack does a great job on covering my green eyebags than normaly concealers. However, I do found that my overall makeup has a more pinkish finish than normal. My hacks here would be #1 choose the right texture of lipstick, a creamy one would make it easier to blend out without a gooey feeling. #2 choose the right color. Orange-based concealers will counteract the blue undertone of dark circle Overall this hack does work for covering dark circles under eye, however, it is a lot of extra work that you’ll need to do. I dont know how I am gonna rate this technique. let me know what you think! L'ORÉAL - Color Riche Ultra-Matte Lipstick MAYBELLINE - Instant Anti Age Eraser Concealer

Don't always say you can't cover dark circles, maybe you just miss the right tool
Don't always say you can't cover dark circles, maybe you just miss the right tool
I have dark circles under my eyes, but recently I found an amazing product that can perfectly cover them. I can't wait to share it with you!   I used to apply concealer with my fingers, but I found that the effect was not obvious. After that, I read the online tutorial and bought a sponge to apply concealer. I didn't know whether the sponges I chose was wrong or what, the concealer could not be evenly applied. A few days ago, I used a friend's eye concealer brush and I knew what the problem was. It turned out that I had been using the wrong tool. I should choose concealer brush!!! Now let's talk about the specific steps of covering dark circles. 1. Use orange concealer to neutralize skin color first, or use a matte lipstick you have. 2. Dip the concealer brush in concealer and apply a small amount of it on your dark circles, and repeat the steps until they are totally convered. Remeber that you should choose creamy concealer, or you can't use the brush. 3. Use setting prowder with this concealer brush. Don't say your concealer is not good anymore! Just buy an eye concealer brush!

Comparing popular Tarte concealers
Comparing popular Tarte concealers
I’ve tried every product and concealer under the sun when it comes to banishing my dark circles, and Shape tape is a bit of a HG to the beauty community so I couldn’t wait to finally find a product that solved all my problems tarte - Shape Tape Concealer Unfortunately shape tape wasn’t it. The formula is on the drier side which I had already heard before using it, that’s not the part that bothered me. But this concealer conceals nothing. Honestly I feel like it didn’t even make a dent in the circles under my eyes. Not only is it one of the most sheer concealers I’ve ever used but the dryness and difficulty to spread and layer make this product a major flop. Luckily I did find my absolute favorite, forever a repurchase concealer, it being; tarte - Maracuja Creaseless Undereye Concealer Just wow. This concealer is THICK in the best way possible. It’s creamy, it’s easy to blend, it’s easy to layer and best of all of conceals SO well! It’s truly a gift on earth to us dark circle girls. My disclaimer, no matter how good a concealer is I still always use a color correction product as a first step and in the photos pictured above I did NOT do that step for the purpose of showing the differences in concealers.

Makeup For Video Interviews 🖥✨#CheriePartner
Makeup For Video Interviews 🖥✨#CheriePartner
As a May 2020 graduate, I’ve been doing a lot of interviews and phone calls over the quarantine period for jobs and internships. Along the way I picked a few key tips for achieving a flawless, professional makeup look perfect for video calls. All I want is to make the impression that I’m put together and perfect for the role! Of course, everyone has different kinds of makeup looks, and specific parts of makeup that make it “signature” to them (like a strong winged liner, or bold lip, or even a super bare natural face!). But for me, my “signature” looks is something quite fresh-faced, glowy skin, defined eyes and a tinted lip! Tips: 1) Stay true to yourself! If you never wear a red lip, don’t wear a red lip to the interview. If you always have a beautiful eyeshadow look on, definitely put some eyeshadow on! The truth is, when you feel most like yourself, the more confident you will appear to others. 2) Video calls tend to wash you out, so if you’re applying a color product maybe add a little more than usual! Here is what I used: HOURGLASS - Illume Sheer Color Trio This is a the perfect product to bronze, blush AND highlight the face! The formula is super creamy and soft, but definitely packs a punch with its pigment. The highlight also gives off a beautiful glow on camera! ESTĒE LAUDER - Double Wear Radiant Concealer I don’t feel the need for a foundation on camera as blemishes are generally not visible depending on video resolution. But I have really bad under eye circles that can make me look tired, so I always want a little concealer just to brighten up my face and eyes. This one is medium coverage with a natural finish on the skin. COLOURPOP - Brow Boss Pencil I always define my brows because they help to frame the face. This is an amazing inexpensive one that has the perfect waxy formula for adding fullness to the brows that looks natural. NUDESTIX - Magnetic Luminous Eyeshadow Defining my eyes is important to me because it’s a feature of my face that I really like. So a little glowy eyeshadow helps to bring attention to my eyes, helps me look a little more awake and defines it a little more. MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Mascara Full Fan Effect I know it’s near impossible to see individual lashes on video call but it helps a lot with defining my eyes! It also makes me feel more put together too just because I’d feel off if I had a full face of makeup and didn’t have mascara on. lisa eldridge - True Velvet Lipstick in Velvet Muse This is one of my favorite matte lipsticks because it’s super pigmented, non-drying but gives a matte finish. I add a little balm beforehand to keep my lips moisturized and to sheer the color a little. This is definitely a my-lips-but-better kind of shade.

CCC 💐 Color Correct like a Champ
CCC 💐 Color Correct like a Champ
I was skeptical about color correcting at first. But it DEFINITELY works. The idea is that some colors “cancel” out each other. For example, if you put 🍊 orange on 🌊 blue, it’ll start muddying to brown. On the last slide, I put a color wheel. Colors that are opposite each other cancel each other out. So by applying this to your makeup, you can conceal any skin concerns you have more effectively than regular concealer can! I used the NYX - Color Correcting Concealer Palette for my whole face. Read on to see what to put where, and my review of the product. 🌵GREEN 🌵 COUNTERACTS RED (Acne & Rosacea) I put green concealer on my reddish cheeks, nose, and bumps. In this case, I targetted bug bites I had going down my mouth and forehead. 🌸 🍑🍊 🌹 PINK, PEACH, ORANGE, & RED FIGHT DARK CIRCLES AND DULLNESS Pink can be used for dark circles on fair skin. Red does the same for the deep skintones. All of these are on the reddish spectrum, and help contrast blue undertones common in eye bags. For myself, I used Peach on my under eye bags, and Pink in my main lid. My under eyes were much darker, so orange was better to counteract it. Note that 🌸 pink is also good at cancelling brown areas like sunspots. 💛 YELLOW 💛 BRIGHTENS DULL SKIN & FATIGUE Yellow counteracts purple, making it great for masking broken capillaries. It’s also good to brighten skin, a little bit like a highlighter. I put it in the middle of my eyebrows to brighten my eyebrow shadow. 💜 PURPLE 💜 FIGHTS SALLOW SKIN On the flip side, purple cancels yellow. We’re not talking about natural, warm, yellow-undertoned skin. This is more for those who lean more cool/ neutral, but have fatigue, sallowness, or anything else that makes your skin feel tired. I put it in the center of my forehead and near the jaw edges, where it’s effect was the same as yellow. 📝 PRODUCT REVIEW 📝 NYX’s color correcting palette has a runny, thin texture. I ran my finger on it in circles, and it didn’t kick up product- but melted into my finger. It was easy to blend, and didn’t clash with my foundation. I do have 2 critiques though: it got crepey in my undereyes, so I had to set it with powder. It also seems to have a white-ish base, making this best for fair skintones- fairer than even mine, I think. NYX did come out with more color correcting palettes for Light, Medium, and Deep skintones, which is good! Have any of you tried those editions? I’d love to hear your thoughts! 💓 FINAL TIPS ON COLOR CORRECTING 💓 I know some of these color correctors seem to contradict each other. Like do I want to cancel out yellow or purple? Or use pink or peach? The key is to target what YOU feel comfortable with. If your concern is swallow skin, use purple. If acne is your main concern, reach for green. My guide is just a suggestion based on what works for me. Take your time to test to see what makes you happy 💕
