Help! Dry cracked nose

avatar
wasps
Despite constant moisturizing and refraining from washing it too much, my nose still seems to crack. Those red dots you see are healing. I’ve tried medication in the past, which definitely helped, but it didn’t stop me from getting wounds. I washed and put neosporin on, but I don’t know how that will sit with my pores. Is there any good products I should try? For a moisturizer, I use LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30
and it feels really nice to put on. My dermatologist recommended it to me and it’s helped a lot with dryness and flakiness. I also use TRADER JOE'S - Watermelon Mask and Facial Mist Set
I can’t speak on the effectiveness, but it’s very refreshing and smells nice.

lazyglowupFor really chapped irritated skin, I would spot treat with ointment (vaseline, aquaphor, cerave ointment, etc) neosporin is also fine, but if the skin isn’t actually open, just stick with reg ointment. For dry flaky skin in general, I’ve found the Ceramidin cream 2x a day has been super great!

Skincare advice from my derm
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in over ten years of dealing with acne, it’s that sometimes, over the counter products just aren’t enough. Frustratingly, the healthcare system in the US makes dermatologist visits and prescription meds very expensive. That’s why I want to share some of the advice I’ve gotten from my dermatologist. While I do use several prescription medicines to treat my acne, the tips and tricks I’ve gotten from my derm are useful for anyone dealing with the same issues as me (hormonal acne, as well as the texture and hyperpigmentation left behind). For reference, my skin is not sensitive—not sure if I was born that way or if I’ve built up a tolerance to harsh products over the years. I use a telemedicine service called Apostrophe, and before that, I used Curology. You fill out a questionnaire on your medical history and skin concerns, upload pictures of your skin, and a dermatologist reviews the information and creates a treatment plan for you. I have a whole post on why I switched from Curology to Apostrophe, but the short answer is that Apostrophe prescribes more oral medications and I wanted to try that route. I’ve had an excellent experience with both companies in terms of the detailed advice I’ve gotten from my providers. So let’s get into it! Here are some things my dermatologists have told me: Don’t pick at your skin... seriously. One of the best tips I got was to use hydrocolloid patches on acne with a head: not only does it help the bump go down way quicker, it keeps me from picking at it any further. I LOVE the COSRX - Cosrx Acne Pimple Master Patch and I never go without them. Look at your diet. My derm says she gives this advice to ALL her patients: limit sugar, processed carbohydrates, and dairy. She says food is not generally the main cause of acne, but it can certainly aggravate it. She also always recommends increasing consumption of fruits and vegetables. Use sun protection—it helps dark spots fade faster, and of course prevents wrinkles. My derm recommends wearing SPF 30 or higher, as well as a wide-brimmed hat when outdoors. Along with my prescription cream, which includes niacinamide and tretinoin, my derm recommends the following products: LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Duo Dual Acne Treatment, LA ROCHE-POSAY - Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel, LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Purifying Foaming Cleanser,CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skin,Neutrogena - Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, LA ROCHE-POSAY - Toleriane Double Repair Face Moisturizer UV SPF 30, CeraVe - Skin Renewing Night Cream These tips and the prescription meds I received from Apostrophe, have made my face clearer than it’s been in YEARS. I’m thrilled with my progress (the before/after photos have about 90 days between them). I’m running out of space, but feel free to ask any questions in the comments! #CheriePartner

Why working out in the morning is great for skin
Hey y’all! So every morning I go for a 30-45 minute run. I love moving my body in the morning and it’s so much better for my skincare routine! Here’s why: your skin isn’t dirty from the day yet, so when you sweat it out in the AM, you won’t be sweating over bacteria, makeup, and dirt. This is better for your pores and keeping your skin healthy and clean! you have the most cortisone (yes the stress hormone, but this also is what alerts your body to wake up!) produced at the start of your day, so morning workouts help release that and therefore less stress=balanced hormones= better skin! you don’t have to rush your bedtime routine! you can keep your morning skincare routine simple and refreshing. So for myself, I usually wake up and maybe I’ll splash my face with water, but usually I just apply my sunblock and head out the door. When I come back, I can shower all the sweat away and start my day with a simple skincare routine! Since I haven’t done much in the day, all I do is use an oil cleanser to remove the sweat and sunblock, then I apply my daily moisturizer (which of course has SPF as well). Easy peasy, and my day is off to a fabulous start ;)

Trader Joe’s 🍉 Mist Unpopular Review
TRADER JOE'S - Watermelon Mask and Facial Mist Set I finally found this pretty popular product in a Trader Joe’s a little far from me. To be honest, I’m kinda disappointed. This product looks very cute, I love the design and everything. It smells not like actual watermelon but like a watermelon gummy. Still, the fragrance is very strong, Some people might be allergic to this. I just think this facial mist is pretty much useless. It doesn’t last as a sticky layer on your skin, which is good. But it also doesn’t provide hydration as it says as well. I’d say it might be refreshing, but definitely not a worthy skincare product.

CHERIE FINDS I LOVE ❤️🍉🌱 #CheriePartner
Hey Y’all ! So Cherie has really been helping me with finding great products for my skin! I’m always curious of all the products out there for my skin and ways to make it better. I have combination skin and it can sometimes be sensitive. I struggle with dullness and hydration and these Two things I’ve bought just off of Cherie reviews are really great. These products are Trader Joe’s Watermelon Mist and Azteca Clay mask. Trader Joe’s Watermelon Facial Mist 🍉 For My Hydration : TRADER JOE'S - Watermelon Mask and Facial Mist Set First of all I love the smell of this! It smells just like a watermelon Jolly rancher. At first I wasn’t sure if I would like it because I’ve never really used refresher sprays but it is literally heaven! After I use it my skin feels revived and hydrated. I used this a lot for beach days and days where it was extra hot. I also love all the good ingredients in it like Squalene(a personal fav), Hibiscus, and watermelon seed oil. These are all really nice ingredients to help your skin feel a bit more hydrated. DOUBLE POINTS FOR CRUELTY FREE! Secondly is the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay 🌱 For My dullness: AZTEC SECRET - Indian Healing Clay Listen I love this clay! I use it on my face and in my hair. This Clay is great for shrinking pores and getting out all the nasty gunk that’s on your face. For your hair it is a great scalp detox and helps rid of build up. It leaves my hair super soft and my curls look amazing after. I mix mine with apple cider vinegar and water and mix it into a paste. If Apple cider vinegar is too harsh for your skin water works just fine. It really gave my skin soft and helped bring some glow back to my skin. I suggest starting off with water first and see how your skin reacts. Please patch test first as well. IMPORTANT TIP: This is 100% Bentonite Clay and if you don’t know anything about Bentonite Clay it absorbs everything. That is why it’s so good for your pores and scalp. However because of that you can only mix and apply this Clay with plastic tools. Anything metal the Clay will absorb all the minerals and properties and we don’t want that anywhere near our face or hair. Overall I really love it but only use it once a month! Just because I don’t want to over do it and dry my skin or hair out so pls use this product sparingly! What’s some of your fav Cherie Finds? 🍒 BESOS 😘

Damaged Skin Concern: FAB Ultra Repair
Damaged Skin Concern: FAB Ultra Repair
FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Intense Hydration Sometimes my skin gets over worked. From using AHA and BHA products, if I’m not careful then my skin will have an adverse reaction. When that does occur, I need something that will help protect my skin and allow it to heal. This is where First Aid Beauty’s ultra repair cream comes in. This is a super popular product and I can see why. It’s a basic, fragrance and dye-free moisturizer that can even be used for dry hands. It has colloidal oatmeal which is a soothing ingredient sometimes used to help eczema and rosacea. I love the addition of this ingredient because it’s super gentle and calming. Another reason I love this moisturizer is because it works well with my oily skin. Even when my skin can get damaged, it feels dry and oily at the same time. This moisturizer isn’t too thick or emollient to make me break out or feel oily. It sinks into the skin effortlessly and doesn’t feel heavy on my skin. For that reason, this would be a great product for anyone with any skin type. Overall, this product feels super repairing and gentle for when my skin is either breaking out or feeling dehydrated. Give this a try!

WHAT?!? A $200 moisturizer??
WHAT?!? A $200 moisturizer??
Hey Babes 👋🏼, YES - you read that correct! A $200 moisturizer!! 😮 I’m fortunate that I didn’t need to spend $200 to get this moisturizer because it came in my Ipsy Ultimate Glam Bag! 👏🏻 I was excited to try this because if the price point and it’s a well known brand. What did I think of it? ⬇️⬇️ If you’re going to spend that much on a beauty product, it better deliver - right? 🤔 I’ve been using this on and off the last couple months, and I think you can the same results using a $30 or $65 moisturizer. I have oily skin and this hydra gel leaves me with oilier skin when I wake up. It does have a nice lightweight texture and absorbs into the skin fast. It’s not oil free and contains some castor oil and sweet almond oil. It does leave your skin soft and hydrated since it has some aloe Vera and hyraluronic acid, but those are common ingredients found in many skin care products. Luckily, This product hasn’t irritated my skin or caused breakouts, but I would not buy this product again. 👎🏻 If you feel like splurging and what to give this a try, go for it! But I say save $200 on this 45 ml moisturizer and get a few other skin care products for the same combined price ;) 111SKIN - Cryo Activating Hydra Gel Xoxo, Blyssey #cheriecreator #moisturizer #111skin

How to use: Apply a thin layer over face after you wash your face or anytime your skin is feeling dry. ~After use Benefits~ Skin feels hydrated Skin looks clean Skin feels refreshed ~My thoughts~ This lotion is really good for my skin. It leaves it feeling hydrated. I usually use the lotion after washing my face, cleansing and after I do a face mask. It instantly turns my skin from feeling dry to feeling fresh. The only downside to this lotion is that it leaves my T zone and my cheeks looking oily. For this reason I don’t use this lotion if I know I will be leaving the house and I mainly use it before bed. Even though at first it does look very oily, after a few hours when it fully absorbs into my skin it’s fine. I do recommend this product but I only recommend using it before bed or if you have a long time to let it fully absorb into your skin.
