✨MY BLACK FRIDAY MUST HAVES✨
So... Black Friday has always been a big deal for me. Every year I make a point of staring a note in my phone of everyone I will have to buy for and what I want to surprise them with. I keep this going through the year and whenever I have a good idea I just pop it in my note. (I didn’t come up with this, I stole the idea from my super organized boyfriend) And then every year I buy all my presents for everyone on Black Friday, or whenever the B.F sales start. I love doing this cause I always feel like I get the best price, and I know that everything will arrive before Christmas. Now, it’s best to stick to the list but I can’t help but get caught up and snag a few things for myself. Here’s the deals for me that were simple too good to pass up; Biossance - 30% off site wide! now if you’ve been on my profile you know that their eye cream is a holy grail product for me! I decided to spring for the full size and try something new as well! I grabbed the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Marine Algae Eye Cream and the BIOSSANCE - Squalane + Glycolic Renewal Mask, and for only $7 I couldn’t pass on the travel size BIOSSANCE - Eye Rescue Duo. The Laurel and Reed 3 month clean skincare box subscription - 25% off on Cratejoy! I’m absolutely obsessed with this box subscription. If you love clean skincare the products are AMAZING and the value is incredible. It’s all full size products and the brands they work with are killer! I also love that they do a colour theme every month so the boxes are so aesthetically pleasing. These boxes are only $47.95 for a 3 month subscription and have at least $125’s worth of goodies but honestly usually way more... it’s a good deal at the best of time but right now you can get an additional 25% off. Some of the items I’ve received in the past from L&R include; GRAYDON - Face Glow #Ere Perez - Cranberry Lip & Eye Butter[products]# LOLI - Plum Elixir LATHER - Honey Moisture Mask with Propolis Extract SRANGE BIRD - Inner Clarity Cleanser ONE LOVE ORGANICS - Botanical C Facial Serum PURE ALCHEMY BEAUTY - Turmeric Glow sahajan - Nourish Face Cream Any deals you just couldn’t pass up this Black Friday ?
WINTER HYDRATION MAGIC ✨🔮💦
What is Ayurveda? Ayurveda literally means “the science of life” A 5000 year old science developed by the sages of India. It emphasizes mind-body balance and plant-based healing. I just received this face cream from my Laurel & Reed box, one of my favourite clean skincare box subscriptions. It’s a super thick, velvety cream. Its got an earthy spicy scent to it a little bit like chai almost, but I can’t really but my finger on it. This tub goes for $60 CAD, for 50ml and has some amazing natural ingredients including: Triphala - Ayurveda’s Vitamin C powerhouse, boast the most antioxidant rich fruit in the world. and Gotu Kola - A member of the Parsley family, has the ability to stimulate the production of collagen. That being said this product does contain coconut oil, which has a very high comedogenic rating. So if your skin is dry, this is definitely a good option but if you are oily or acne prone I might pass, due to the risk of causing blackheads. This cream is quite thick, so I think it’ll be perfect for Canada’s harsh dry winters and will probably end up using it on my face and overnight on my hands. Because of the coconut oil, I’ll probably put this aside for a little longer since I don’t think it’ll mix well with having to wear a mask all the time, and some of humid days that are keeping my skin a little more oily than I’d like. Have you tried this face cream? Or any other products from Sahajan? Or do you have another Ayurveda science based skincare brand you reccomend? sahajan - Nourish Face Cream
Hemp Oil: great for body AND face 🌿
Hemp oil has been so good to my combination, eczema-prone skin 😍 Hemp oil is a carrier oil that normally constitutes the majority of the product concentration. A part of Cannabis sativa, it is therapeutic to the skin. Containing nutrients like omega rich fatty acids and proteins, its topical use is found to strengthen the skin and more resistant to infection - sounds like a win/win to maintain eczema! It’s nourishing for the face AND smooths out the skin on the rest of your body. I found out about this ingredient when I started frequenting marijuana shops about 4 years ago. I noticed that there was a whole moisturizer line with the name “Hemp” in it. As tempted as I was to try this, I stayed off trying any of it because when I read the ingredients it contained fragrance 🤬 Fast forward to December when I started working in another clean beauty shop where Graydon plant powered skincare is sold and as I learned more about the products and ingredients, I couldn’t help myself but to try... and months later, using hemp oil in my products from face to whole body, no regrets! Face GRAYDON - The Putty Y’all know I love this. It soothes eczema and any irritation quite well. Very nourishing and protective for the dry winter. Leaves a smooth face. Body & hair tbh GRAYDON - Intimacy Oil Ugh I love this too. & no it’s not what you think! 🤪 At $50CAD/ 100mL, I tried not to buy this for the longest of time, but honestly every time I sampled it I fell deeper and deeper in love. Even before dampening the skin, this oil absorbs quite quickly and does not leave a sticky feeling on the skin which is a great incentive to use this as a form of moisturizing dry skin more often. Ash be gone! It’s so nourishing that I even use it on my hair on wash day as it adds a nice sheen. I also really admire its serene scent.
My Top 3 Products for “Healing” Eczema
The truth is healing eczema isn’t as simple as applying on creams and ointments, alone. It’s a whole process, from stress management to better nutrient intake to looking into underlying conditions, like thyroid issues. However, that doesn’t mean that we can’t find the right skincare to manage eczema. Over the years, I’ve tried various products and topical remedies, and though it can be tricky to sift through all the right formulas... I have finally found the right ones for me! Hydrate with Corpa Flora - Antidote HB5 Hydration which contains hydration-boosting propanediol, hyaluronic acid, pro vitamin B5 and promoting collagen, making the skin more firm. This really helped me with dry patches on my face, I don’t get those anymore! 💦 Moisturize & Soothe with GRAYDON - The Putty which contains restorative ingredients, such as zinc, hemp oil, turmeric, manuka honey. It’s so soothing, I noticed changes within a few days and only needed to apply it twice a day vs some other eczema solutions that require constant reapplication due to excessive dryness. 🤗 Sanitize & Repair with purO3 - Ozonated Olive Oil which is a One ingredient powerhouse. Honestly this is my holy grail y’all! The only reason it’s a 4 ⭐️ is due to the strong scent, which my partner doesn’t enjoy sleeping next to when I use it 😅 but ozonated oil is honestly the one for stopping skin infections, like Staphylococcus aureus in its tracks, and on top of that, repairing the skin so the S. aureus doesn’t repenetrate the skin. I’ve been using this one for years! 🙏🏽 What are some of your favourite eczema solutions? 💞
I have been trying out this moisturizer from Beauty Bio for over two weeks now and my skin has been loving it! I haven’t had any new breakouts since trying it, and it smells like roses! It absorbs into the skin and leaves it feeling soft after it dries. Love love love!
BEAUTYBIO-The Ultimate Hydrating Vitamin C Facial Moisturizer
CLEAN Josh Rosebrook Nutrient Day Crean
Josh Rosebrook’s Nutrient Day Cream is a cult classic in the clean beauty world. Not only is it moisturizing, but it also contains spf 30, protecting the skin from harmful rays. It also acts as a great primer for applying makeup. The white, creamy formulation sinks into the skin quickly, leaving a matte finish While the product claims suitable for all skin, I would not advice it for someone with acne-prone skin. One of its main ingredients is Shea butter, which commonly clots pores and causes breakouts. I am very prone to breakouts, so although I like the product and finish, I am unable to use it consistently. I would definitely recommend it to others, as long as they are not acne prone. The product is $85, but it is 2 oz, which is a decent amount of product for a clean sunscreen. I do think the product is worth it if it works for your skin, especially dry skin. Is this the product!??
Having dry, flaky skin is a struggle but finding the product that will help with that is a miracle and for me the Ren Overnight Recovery Balm is the product for my skin, because it is a balm and it basically create a layer between the dry, cold air and my skin. My skin literally feels so hydrated and as if I have been drinking 8 glasses of water. Do keep in mind it is a bit greasy but I like that because it helps my skin with inflammation and any dry patches I may have. Do I recommend this product? YES!!! I think it’ll help all skin types because it does calm your skin, I have acne-prone skin as well!! Let me know if this product works for you or not. Worked great for dry/sensitive skin!
This is what I used before finding the moisturizer that I use now, I use this when I run out of my other moisturizer. This has never once made my skin burn from irritation/sensitiveness and always leaves my dry skin feeling moisturized. This product has never made my skin break out. I really recommend this stuff as it is not expensive and works fantastic for people with sensitive/acne-prone/dry skin.

✨ Skincare Myth - Oily Skin Doesn’t Need Moistur
Growing up until I started getting into skincare, which was around the beginning of college, my mom had always told me that oily skin didn’t need moisturizer because it makes your skin more oily!! She still tries to tell me this still today lol. However, since I started getting more into skincare and watching videos and reading about it, I’ve learned that’s not the case. While it’s true that oily skin doesn’t need as heavy of a moisturizer as dry skin, it still needs something to help lock in the moisture. I remember before I used moisturizer, my skin was flakey and tight because I’d only wash my face twice a day and then go straight in with makeup in the AM and it wouldn’t look good. Then at night, I would just wash my face and call it a night. Now I mainly use a gel/lightweight moisturizer (especially in the summer when my face becomes more oily) because it’s lightweight and won’t feel heavy or clog my pores. If someone with oily skin doesn’t use a moisturizer, it causes the skin to overproduce oil and can make you look and feel more oily. It can also lead to dry and flakey skin, like I experienced. A good moisturizer is also important for whenever you’re using acne treatments (oily skin and acne are usually hand in hand, but not always) because they can really dry out your skin. Here’s a moisturizer I’ve been enjoying! There are cheaper moisturizer alternatives that are great for oily skin, but this is just one I had gotten as a freebie with a Sephora order. . Key Ingredients: Greek Yoghurt (delivers a soothing sensation with a super dose of pre- and probiotics to nurture skin) and Microbiome Re-Balancing Technology (works to support your skin’s natural invisible microbiome, protect, and relieve visible signs of stress). . Scent: None . Consistency/Texture: Lightweight Cream . Price: $36 for 1.35 oz / 40 mL . Experience: It immediately gives a cooling sensation to the skin, perfect for summer! It’s super lightweight, yet hydrating. It’s the perfect amount of hydration for my skin, without being too much. I’ve noticed the redness I had with some recent blemishes I got has really subsided and they aren’t as painful. It layers nicely and doesn’t pill. . Repurchase/Recommend: Yes, this has been a lovely AM and PM moisturizer for my combo oily skin. It’s really lightweight and sinks in quickly. I don’t think this would be good for dry skin because it is very lightweight.
KORRES-Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Probiotic Gel-Cream
Sunday Riley Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream is a lightweight moisturizer. I actually love a lighter consistency when it comes to moisturizer, so I really enjoy this one! I wouldn’t say this is the best moisturizer and have heard mixed reviews on irritation from this, but I haven’t had any breakouts or irritation (and my skin is more on the sensitive side.) This is a good moisturizer but just lacks the “wow” factor for me especially for the price!
