Is mini Kosas Wet Lip Oil Set Worth It?
I’d like to discuss both the mini trio set and the lip oil in general. The pigment is more noticeable in person btw 😬 I’ve been eyeing down Kosas ever since getting their Kosas - Kosasport Lipfuel in a Clean Makeup Set from Sephora Favourites & falling in love with the formula and the product design! I’ll be honest, for a long time I didn’t care much to try these particular oils for some reason, but after seeing them enough times by influencers on IG, and seeing that Kosas - The Wet Set Clean Lip Oil Trio was available to try a little bit of everything, I decided to go ahead with it. But that’s the thing, this mini trio set is really just a way to try a little bit of everything. Sometimes brands with mini sets provide a generous enough amount of product nonetheless, but not these guys. There’s 2ml of product in each tube, which for me also poses a bit of a sustainability issue since the tube design is quite big for what it actually carries. The original size is 4.6ml and and the tube does not look like it’s double the size, from what I remember. Some say that this lip oil runs out in a few applications & for some reason the Jellyfish one came 3/4 full compared to the other two full tubes. This trio set was $33 CAD, which I thought was a decent deal to get to try different shades before investing $36CAD into a full size. I think if you’re more decisive and have a better idea of what you’re looking for, just go ahead and buy the shade(s) you actually want. I personally didn’t need to try the Jellyfish (clear) as I already know that I like clear lipgloss in general. But I’m happy to have been able to try the shades in Dip (neutral pearly nude), which is basically a MLBB kinda shade for me, & the infamous Jaws (“warm red” but almost reddish orange IMO). Because I love me some nudes, if I were to purchase a full size it’d have to be Dip, but it would have to be on ✨ SALE ✨ bc $36CAD on a lip oil gloss WHOOOO?! Not I 🙅🏽♀️ Price and size aside, the formula of the Kosas - Wet Lip Oil Gloss is actually quite nice. It’s meant to both be a treatment and gloss. It’s non sticky and makes the lips feel smooth even about an hour into wearing this stuff, although the pigment doesn’t last forever. The key ingredients are hydrating hyaluronic acid, plumping peptides, and protecting evening primrose oil. Perfect for the winter season 🥶 as it allows you to forget chapped lips and still comfortably wear colour. The scent is subtle, with a reminiscence to orange creamsicles which makes me feel fun 💋 #CheriePartner
10 min Makeup - Quick Morning Transformation🧚🏽
I’m technically working from home again. I spent the last couple of weeks working in film production, so I didn’t even have a chance to do anything for myself since ~16 hrs of my day were focused on getting to/from work & being present there. Now that I’m home more, it’s important for me to still treat myself like I’m going somewhere... because I am towards my destiny, finding a way to turn my passion into a career 😅 and it’s nice to look “nice, presentable” or whatever for yourself, even at home... if we’ve learned anything during quarantine, amirite? So here’s what I look like waking up to what a few mins of tending to myself with products looks like ✨ It’s not a huge change, but it definitely perks me up! Also before anyone starts, glasses are cute AF but sometimes I feel like they hide my face, especially in photos! ... even though that’s the reason I got rimless glasses 🤣 Anyways, I started by undoing my overnight braids with a little bit of the GRAYDON - Intimacy Oil on my fingers to “lubricate” the hair strands and give em a little sheen. Then I started my face off with some Glossier. - Haloscope Dew Effect Highlighter in Topaz and Glossier. - Niteshine Highlighter Concentrate in Copper (I like to use this as a bronzer, slight contour) I used the ĀETHER BEAUTY - Crystal Charged Cheek Palette as both highlighter, blush AND the main eyeshadow to brighten my lids. Speaking of eyeshadow, MISMACK - Large ART Shadow in 'Shade' and Pure Anada - Grape Pressed Eye in Espresso we’re used for definition. Then I finished my upper face with Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara and Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel . To both add a little pigment and hydrate my lips, I used my fave lip balm Kosas - Kosasport Lipfuel in Pulse.

The Perfect Autumn Nail Polish Colour 🍂
butter LONDON - Patent Shine 10X Nail Lacquer in Keep Calm, I purchased for $23 CAD at Nature’s Fare, a local health store chain. I’m really loving the fall colours this season AND I love “nude” shades, so this was the perfect in between for me. The nail polish is like a brownish-orangish auburn, making me feel very classy and sleek, like that btchhh 💅🏽 This cruelty-free, vegan nailpolish is 10-free, so NO formadelhyde, formaldehyde resin, DBP, toluene, camphor, ethyl tosylamide, xylene, parabens, gluten and TPHP. These ingredients may either pause adverse effects for some people in the long run or the short term (eg gluten). I like that the scent of this nailpolish isn’t as strong as that of the traditional kind. It also contains some good stuff, such as bamboo extract, Shea buter, green tea extract, shock resistance polymer technology, papaya oil, aloe vera, which maintain smoothness and strength of the nails for less breakage. The only reason I gave it a 4 ⭐️ is because I can’t whatsoever get away with just applying one coat like I sometimes am able to do with other nail polishes AND I noticed that the tips of my nails are still white, which I’ll have to intentionally go over next time.

Do Underarm Bars Work?
Yes! To my surprise, yes! I’ve been using the kaia naturals - The Underarm Bar for about a month, and it’s safe to say so! It smells like spearmint - which I LOVE - leaving the skin feeling refreshed, but does it last beyond the nice scent? For the past couple of months, I have noticed that my armpits would have an extreme odor if I didn’t use any deodorant. I’d literally be out of the shower for 2 hrs and already have a scent. An important thing to note is that I’ve been experiencing some on and off underarm eczema. I’ve noticed that it only gets worse when I use natural deo WITH baking soda or reuse a stick of another natural deo (without baking soda) that I believe has been contaminated by Staphylococcus aureus from previous uses. So I’m gonna try to sanitize that deo stick to keep it from wasting! I have another baking-soda-free natural deo cream that I always use with clean fingers, and it causes me no new irritations. Anyways, there are times the eczema would get so irritating that I would just try to take breaks from applying anything, excluding soothing eczema solutions, on the affected areas to give the skin a break. So I noticed the strong BO, sometimes so strong, that even washing with my regular wash wouldn’t help much. I’ve heard of this bar since working at an ethical beauty shop, but I thought it was bogus honestly. The only reason I gave it a chance is because I was buying an Aether Beauty palette on a Canadian beauty website and needed one more item to get the infamous “free shipping.” Oh the extra things we end up trying with this new marketing way! 😅 Anyways, I started noticing a difference after about a week of use but wanted to wait before reporting on here, just to make sure! I haven’t smelled like serious BO in a while, even on days when I forget to wear my deo for a while. So what makes it work? This underarm bar is an anti-bacterial soap thanks to Apple Cider Vinegar (pH friendly when placed correctly into a formula) and Activated Charcoal leaving a protective barrier, lowering the odor from the bacteria that’s causing it. It’s one of those “detoxifying” bars. This underarm bar is also meant for people who are struggling with their natural deodorants, or coming off of antiperspirants. It’s meant to go along with a kaia naturals - Charcoal Deodorant Lime Mint which I have, but that’s the same stick that I’ve contaminated before sooo I’m more than happy to keep using routine. - The Curator Natural Deodorant cream!

Makeup for Special Occasions: Clubbing 💃🏽
Omg can I just say that doing this look made me miss going out even more! 😢 I personally thrive on the dance floor 💃🏽 But anyways, you guessed right this is my clubbing makeup. Let’s be real when we’re going clubbing, it’s important to keep in mind that most of our makeup will be sweated off by the end of the night, so I prefer to keep it as glam yet simple as possible! I achieve this by using fun colours that I normally wouldn’t, with a few products. So here you see I am wearing blue eyeliner, which takes a while to come off & a purplish pink gloss to give my lips a tinted shine that I won’t have to keep maintaining with several lipsticks and lip liners! By the way, I’m not wearing foundation bc that’ll definitely get messy throughout the night with the way I’m dancing & I just love my skin how it is, honestly! 1. I started this look off with doing my brows. I got them waxed today ✨ so I didn’t need to shape them up, just filled them in with Milk MAKEUP - KUSH Fiber Brow Gel 2. Next I used SAPPHO - New Paradigm Concealer to let the ĀETHER BEAUTY - Crystal Grid Gemstone Palette eyeshadow last a bit longer throughout the night. I used an icy blue from this palette to just brighten the eyes more, which would look nice when the light hits em. (For shadow on the eye crease and contour I used MISMACK - Large ART Shadow in 'Shade' which is not captured bc it crumbled after falling oK?!😭) 3. Then I did a cat eye on each side in blue with L'ORÉAL - Infallible Paints Eyeliner . Oops it’s not “clean beauty” but it glides so nicely and the pen doesn’t dry out mid stroke, which I really respect. I also have this in white for future face art experiments 🖼 4. Completed fanning the lashes with the superb Milk MAKEUP - KUSH High Volume Mascara we all got for our birthdays from Sephora 💝 5. Used FENTY BEAUTY - Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter to warm up the cheekbones with both the orange and pink and then LAWLESS - Lucid Skin Highlighter to highlight the usual areas. 6. I know in the last post I gave it a 4 star rating, but honestly, I finally found the use for the BITE - Yaysayer Plumping Lip Gloss in Plum Tart, as I noticed it lasts quite a while without needing to be reapplied. Such a win! It tastes like Coca Cola and isn’t too sticky, but gives enough of shine and pigment to make it look like you’re wearing something 👌🏽 #CheriePartner

Is Leave in Conditioner Worth It?
I’m glad to know the existence of leave in conditioners because I remember finding out conditioner from my hair and wishing I didn’t have to as it made my hair feel silkier. Leave in conditioner is a great way to gently detangle hair and keep it hydrated. However, as I have sensitive skin and especially an eczema-prone neck, I gotta be pretty careful with my selection. I gave Aunt Jackie's - Quench Moisture Intensive Leave-In Conditioner a try which seemed like a great idea because it’s “Sulfate-free/Paraben-free” but it’s important to not get caught up in being green washed. Greenwashing is when a product label promotes being a better choice by lacking certain ingredients, while the ingredient list may still contain some hazards. In this case, Parfum, which I think I’m quite sensitive to, is listed as one of the middle ingredients. Not even at the end! But the middle! Huh?! It smells good, but it’s too fragrant and therefore I don’t feel comfortable just leaving it in my hair all willy nilly. So instead I use om - Coconut Milk Hair Mask which is technically meant as a leave in treatment for 10 mins in the shower, but the downfall of clean hair products is that it’s often not strong enough for curly/thick hair. So I apply a bit into my damp hair post wash and then braid it and ta-da, look at them shiny and non-greasy coils! ✨ when I use a leave in conditioner, I can get away with using less oil 👏🏽 #CheriePartner

Here’s how to take care of oily acne-prone skin☺
Most of us acne patients suffer from oily skin. Excess sebum produced by our skin may clog pores which eventually leads to acne. In this post, I’d like to share my top tricks in controlling my oily acne-prone skin and hopefully be able to help even at least one of you 🙈☺️ 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐎𝐬: 1. 𝐃𝐎 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐰𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐚𝐲. This has always worked for me. Sometime before, I tried not washing my face in the AM and it just made me so much oilier during the day resulting in more breakouts. Importantly, remember to wash your face every after workout too. Sweat combined with sebum is a perfect recipe for acne and skin irritation. 𝟐. 𝐃𝐎 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐡. Although salicylic acid cleanser helped tremendously in my teenage years, it isn’t necessarily beneficial for me now that my skin is more dehydrated and my skin barrier compromised. Salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide cleansers may still help on days when you’re feeling extra oily but resist using it daily. Use a gentle foaming face wash from Vanicream, Hada Labo, Cerave. 𝟑. 𝐃𝐎 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚 𝐦𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲. You can have oily skin and dehydrated skin at the same time. Because your face is not hydrated enough, your glands may overcompensate for the lack of moisture by producing more oils. Do not ever skip this step! Your best option is to use an oil-free, non-comedogenic moisturizer like Paula’s Choice Clear Oil-Free Moisturizer, Neutrogena oil-free and hydroboost gel cream, and if you have rosacea too, use procure rosacare gel. 𝟒. 𝐃𝐎 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. SPF 30+ or up should always be worn especially for oily skin. Unprotected sun exposure can lead to more acne flare-ups. Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide mineral sunscreens are your top options. Zinc doesn’t only protect skin but also helps calm irritated skin. My favorites are Elta MD physical and Purito Water, Clinique Broad Spectrum, .. If you like chemical sunscreen better, I highly recommend Eucerin and Sun BUm. 𝟓. 𝐃𝐎 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬. Keratolytic ingredients such as benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid that are available over-the-counter can be your best friends when used properly. It is important to note that when using an active, stick to a minimal skincare routine to reap the best results and use of one acne treatment at a time is a must, especially if you’re just starting out. If you have moderate to severe acne, I would go for Differin Adapalene gel or a retinoid such as Retin-A and Atralin. Retinoids may not only get rid of your acne but also heal and renew your skin in the deeper layers. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓𝐬: 𝟏. 𝐃𝐎𝐍'𝐓 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫-𝐞𝐱𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞. Over-exfoliating is probably something we’re all once obsessed with. Unfortunately, this habit can only lead us to a damaged skin barrier thus, compromising our skin’s own ability to heal itself. It’s best to limit the use of exfoliating ingredients twice a week when starting or one exfoliating acid/active at a time once a day after your skin has adjusted. 𝟐. 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. I say it all the time, fragrance in skincare is BAD and does nothing good for you. The use of fragrance in cosmeceutical products is unregulated and companies are not required to disclose all components used in their products. The formulation may have a lot of unknown toxic chemicals that can be harmful to you. Without knowing and often initially not externally evident, fragrance can irritate your skin deep down, cause toxic hormonal effects, and may even cause cancer. Fragrance is a NO-NO for everyone and most especially for acne-prone people or those with other skin diseases. I have suffered the consequences of my bad choices myself. Do yourself a favor and ditch your fragrance-containing products too. 𝟑. 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬. Certain types of alcohol such as ethanol, isopropyl alcohol, and alcohol denat. are extremely drying and irritating especially to acne-prone skin. 𝟒. 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐮𝐩. Always make sure you wash away all makeup and accumulated dirt on the face before you sleep. 𝟓. 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬. Change your pillowcases frequently. I always make sure I sleep on new ones every week. 𝟔. 𝐃𝐎𝐍’𝐓 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞. Picking at your acne can only add dirt and germs to your skin and may cause more issues. Frequently wash your hands if you’re an absent-minded face rubber or cover the pimples with acne patches. 𝐌𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐌 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 (𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐜𝐧𝐞-𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞) 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫 - VANICREAM - Gentle Facial Cleanser or CeraVe - Foaming Facial Cleanser For Normal To Oily Skinor HADALABO - Deep Moisturizing Whip Foam 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 - Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream or The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫+ 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 - sun bum - Face Lotion SPF 50 𝐏𝐌 𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞: 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐲𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 - Neutrogena - Hydro Boost Gel-Cream or Pyunkang Yul - Essence Toner 𝐌𝐨𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐫 - PROcure - Rosacare Gel 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: janssen - Retino-A 0.05% Tretinoin Cream

Labyrinth ball or face wash? 🤔
This is a really awesome product I got from Boscia on sale for $7!!!! Believe it or not, it’s actually a face cleanser!! I love this so much not only because it’s a great cleanser but because the packaging is better for the environment! Once it’s gone nothing to throw away and the original container is very thin plastic so definitely a smart move there! This is boscia - Charcoal Jelly Ball Cleanser they are actually still on sale right now along with one other kind for drier skin. This has been my morning first cleanse and I really love it! It’s fun and super easy to use. Just run it under a little water in your hands and then apply the suds to a wet face. It doesn’t take much AT ALL!! A little really goes a long way so I’m curious on how long this will last. A lot of other charcoal cleaners can really strip my face but this one is super gentle while still giving a really good clean. It goes a long way on helping control oil as well and is like a daily spa for my blackheads!! This is probably my #1 favorite charcoal cleanser I have ever tried and trust me that’s a lot 😂 If you want to give this one or the one for drier skin a try definitely go for it now while they are only $7!! Full price is $20 so it’s a really great deal! 🖤 boscia is quickly becoming one of my very favorite skincare brands without a doubt!!!

HELP! Tiny little white bumps
I woke up this morning with A TON of tiny little white pus filled bumps along the edge of my nose and by my eye. It was really red when i woke up and it feels really tight. This has happened once before and i thought it was because my moisturizer had oils in it. I changed my skin care to Cera Ve salacylic acid wash, the ordinary glycolic toner, the ordinary Niacinimide serum, and the Cera Ve oil free moisturizer. I did use Clinique clearing gel last night but i have used this many times and it has not done this. Does anyone have any clue what’s causing this 😩
