Need a little look over my new routine pls
Am and pm moisturizer have been using for over a month. The dermalogica have been using for as long as the am and pm moisturizer. I started with once a week then progressed up to seven days a week but was breaking out so I stopped with everyday exfoliating. I also had a burning sensation when I put on my p.m. moisturizer. Only use it 3x a week on my t zone especially my nose. I have large pores and would rather use products then get a facial every month ($120-150). Just got the eye cream yesterday the ordinary retinol today (genactive retinoids 5% in squalane). Other eye creams have done absolutely zero for my circles and puffiness. Got the retinol for the lines I have on on forehead and crows feet. The other benefits of the retinol are cool too. I have done some research and wanted to start the retinol once a week then progress up to everyday (is that right)? How do we know when it’s time to go up in strength for the retinol? Once we go through a whole bottle or? when I use the exfoliating stuff at night can I still use the ordinary stuff the same night and use the pm moisturizer or is that too much harshness? Apologies if I got any of the names of directions wrong I’m still a newbie and learning. Would be open to any recommendations or critiques. The beard balm is obviously for the beard hopefully not using all those products under my beard will not affect my skin whenever I do shave off the beard.

DarcyCullI'm not sure what Dermalogica product you have there, but it's best to avoid using an exfoliating acid at the same time as a retinoid!

Redness and melasma
Hi All. I’ve been battling melasma for the last 10 years after worshiping the sun in my 20’s and early 30’s. I’ve managed to tame it a bit but there is still some significant pigmentation on my forehead. I used to have the full mask around my eyes and down my cheeks but that has faded substantially. I’ve also started to develop redness around my mouth and nose. I currently use ASAP platinum (AM l-ascorbic acid, niacinamide and PM retinol with biomimetic peptide and biomimetic trippeptide with AHA/BHA blend on alternate nights) along with a trentinoin .5 cream every few nights. I also microneedle ever few weeks. I have really oily skin so I’d love to not have to wear foundation. Any recommendations/changes to my routine?
help— need acne & peach fuzz tips
so i naturally grow a lot of peach fuzz/little hairs on my face and i get acne really easily because my skin is oily. does anyone have tips on how to deal with peach fuzz when being acne prone? i read that i shouldn’t shave my face while having acne because it will spread more bacteria on my face. is that true? i don’t like my face looking so hairy, any tips can help, thanks also — i took a close up video of my skin so people can get an idea on how my skin looks. UPDATE: so i did like Mallory suggested and got some of those razor things. they work really well; i didn’t get too much fuzz off bc i didn’t want to cut myself (again; i tried it on my eyebrow). thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions!! i appreciate it!!!
Ok so this is what it looks like right now it’s really bad and this is the worst it has been I just have no idea what to use and also I have really oily skin when I wake up so if someone could help me with that... that would be great to
Skin care journal
If anybody has a bad short term memory like I do, this will help! 🙂 I use a mini calendar and mark down what skin care I did on which days, so I can keep track of everything that I’ve done and don’t lose track. Before I started doing this a year ago, I was accidentally doing a clay mask up to 4x a WEEK! 😫 My skin was so dehydrated. 😰 I will admit to having a bad short term memory and I will forget what I have used on my face if I do not writer it down! I write down each skin care product I use, acids, masks and serums. Except for my cleanser and moisturizer. chemicals exfoliants, serums, etc. and especially any new skin care product! To see how my skin has been reacting to it. I just think a skin care journal would benefit anybody. Even if you have a good memory. Another way I have seen people keep track is by writing down a day of the week on each product container, so then they remember that they are supposed to do it that day of the week, every week. The journal is just easier for me, personally. You don’t even need it to be a calendar. A notebook or even a piece of paper would do! 💖
Can anyone help! Please. I’ve been trying to take care of my face. However for the longest time i can’t reduce redness in my face. I get red easily and as you can tell at the moment it’s red. My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
