“I’m ready for a change!!”
Gabby is one of my favorite clients, and she’s been through a lot this past year, so when she told me she was ready for a change I was ready to give it to her! She sent me a picture of auburn hair with a few highlights throughout the top so we set a date and I picked out Schwarzkopf Igora #RoyalTakeover shade 5-819 with a 20 volume developer to give a little extra pop, and the result was better than we could have expected. Next time we might even push it a little brighter!
Buckle up kids! This is a long one. I had already prelightened this client weeks prior, but she was tired of being blonde. I told her that I had some new Matrix Socolor Cult Neons that would glow under blacklight and she was all in. She honestly didn’t care what I did to her hair. Me being me, I couldn’t do some ordinary pattern. I’d been studying how to do different techniques for different effects and since she was a willing victim I figured I’d take advantage of that. I started by sectioning off the crown of her head into triangular subsections and clipping each individual pie slice out of my way. I wanted to leave out the perimeter of her hair, so that I could paint it all red. Once that was done, I then had to decide how to tackle that top section. I decided to section off the center of the section, making a small circle that I would paint red, which would create a veil over the rest of her hair. Now, those pie slices were more like little wedges. Using meche sheets I began painting slices of hair alternating between orange and red bases with yellow tips. Needless to say, this was extremely meticulous, but the end result was to dye for!
