I have straight, thin, long Asian lashes that need volume + curl + length, so it’s pretty much impossible for me to find a mascara that I like. I use a Shu Uemura or Kevyn Aucoin lash curler to curl my lashes first - these two lash curlers have been the best performing for me, since they fit Asian eyelids pretty well!

MISSHA - Missha All-around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk I’m so sad that I’ve run out of this. If you don’t like the feel of sunscreens that feel thick and heavy, pick this up! you won’t regret it! I also ran out of the Volition sunscreen that I paired along side this one, but recycled it before I took a picture.
Briogeo - Don't Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask (📍) Again, was so sad to run out of this, check out my post featuring this and the new hair mask I picked up for more info!
THE inkey LIST - Niacinamide Oil Control Serum If I could give this 100 stars out of 10, I would. This is my favourite serum of all time and I always have two back ups in my collection!
Now for my meh products:
SUNDAY RILEY - CEO 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum I liked the way that this felt don’t get me wrong, but I think because of the shimmer effect it has, it may have been breaking me out a bit. This didn’t have enough in it to last me long enough to see any effects.
Kate Somerville - DeliKate Recovery Cream this is unbelievable. Although I will never buy this at the $104 price point, it’s a beautiful, thick, heavy cream. Wonderful for winter skin.
fresh - Sugar Hydrating Lip Balm, Watermelon I actually have the lime+mint scent, but this is also amazing. I’ve just began started applying all my lip balms on damp lips, and I’ve found it’s made the biggest difference. No more dry lips!
DRUNK ELEPHANT - Sili™ Body Lotion (📍)
If you’ve seen my marula oil post, you’ve seen that I don’t support Drunk Elephant anymore, this is one of my last products I have from them (that they sent me) and it was too light to be a body cream. I have really dry legs and this didn’t do the trick. I ended up keeping this on my desk as a hand lotion and it worked well!
Now for my no good product:
Too Faced - Better Than Sex Mascara (📍)
I don’t understand that hype around this mascara. On me, it doesn’t make my lashes look longer or fuller, it flakes super easy and it doesn’t hold my curl. Happy to have finished this so I can move on.

Snow White inspired makeup 👸🏻
I had so much fun with this look because it was a colour combo I wouldn’t usually wear and I got a chance to try out my new Laura Mercier limited edition red Christmas lipstick since it was the perfect shade for Snow White! The Rouge Essentiel lipstick is incredible, it probably has the most beautiful texture of any lipstick I own and is SO nice to wear.

I’m baaaaack! After a long hiatus due to health reasons, I finally feel healthy enough to actually do my makeup! Hooray!
I had some fun with the NATASHA DENONA - Eyeshadow Palette 5 in Peak which is such a great palette. I also cheated and used bareMinerals - Gen Nude Eyeshadow Palette in “Soul” in my crease. Both of these shadow palettes are fantastic and very easy to work with/blend. The color payoff is great as well, especially the Natasha Denona shadows. I’ll be posting another look soon with the bareMinerals palette so you can get more of an idea of how gorgeous this collection is, so stay tuned.
I’m still loving Glossier. - Futuredew Oil Serum Hybrid because no matter how dull and dry my skin is looking, this serum can bring me back from dead-looking to hydrated and bright.
I’m off to get vaccinated! Wish me luck 💕

Ranking Benefit Mascaras
Benefit has to be my favorite brand for mascaras. I think they have the best formula and I love that they stick to their classics! I’ve been able to try all three this past year and here is how I would rank them!
#3: benefit - They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara I think this has a very unique brush and I love how it gives the most natural look! The product doesn’t get clumpy and is very lightweight. By the end of the day though, it does feel a little bit dry.
#2: benefit - Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara this is the first mascara that I tried by them and it’s definitely a holy grail! I love the rounded brush and how it coats the lashes. I feel like this is the perfect boost to your natural lashes! The formula is comfortable and lasts all day.
#1: benefit - BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara this has easily become my favorite mascara of all time! It’s super lengthening and volumizing and doesn’t clump at all! It adds to your lashes and truly enhances them, giving them the false lash effect! They are always fuller and I love how flexible the wand is!

it Cosmetics - it Cosmetics CC+ Cream SPF 50+ one of my fave natural bases as it has no flashbacks, and decent dewy coverage, long-lasting on my oily skin and has spf50! Loving the pump bottle too which is mess- free and travel- friendly.
benefit - Benefit Tinted Cheek & Lip Stain i love this color on my medium skin tone and its very long lasting too very apt for mask- wearing times as they won’t rub off easily and this stays rain or shine. A tiny dot goes a loong way too and i use this for my lips and cheeks.
ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade i lightly dip my brush for that natural look on the brows and top it with..
PATRICK TA - Major Brow Shaping Wax i could see why this is a hyped product and it stays a long time too. Only con is you need to find the technique that works for you especially on how wet the brush should be to scrape the wax off and deposit the right amount on the brows.
innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder i use this to set my makeup and seal my undereye concealer. It also doubles as a dry shampoo!
L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Waterproof Mascara i see why this mascara is very praised and it’s because it stays on when you want it on and gives that covetable lashes for dayzzz
NYX - NYX Retractable Eyeliner i use the beigey color to open up the eyes by putting it on the water line. It glides on well and stays put i have no complaints..
MAC - MAC Eyeshadow in cork. I use this for the nose line and as bronzer on the go. I love that it’s matte and taupey and also long- lasting with the packaging perfect for travel.
NARS - Radiant Creamy Concealer i use this as my undereye and blemish concealer. For the undereyes, i smudge a little peach cream blush, usually NARS - The Multiple in Siam. Just a litttttllle bit to serve as corrector before the concealer. This also avoids the reverse raccoon 👀
MAC - MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ Finishing Mist this serves both as my priming and finishing spray and i love that it serves its purpose but yet to find a cheaper alternative because im aware that there may be a nice dupe out there.. 🤔

L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Waterproof Mascara
first and foremost, I have extremely straight lashes. I can’t use non waterproof formulas, if I do my artificial curl will fall almost instantly.
I understood this mascara is viral for the length it provides.
while I guess it did some of that, I can’t say I was massively impressed. the difference when my eyes are pictured side by side seems huge, but in person my lashes look so light you can hardly tell I’m wearing mascara. I know some people like the natural look, but it’s too subtle on me. I wouldn’t like this with a full face of makeup, it’s just too underwhelming!!
I’d be less upset if it wasn’t over $10, it just seems super tame for the hype it has. maybe if someone already had really long and curled lashes they’d love this, but for me? it’s gonna be a pass!

These are some of my favorite mascaras from L’Oreal. The one I love the most is the Telescopic mascara. It really makes my lashes look long. It lasts all day and doesn’t smudge.

Here's my current faves for January that are makeup and skincare products:
GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover - I'm so surprised at how well makeup comes off using this! It's amazing and I didn't have an allergic reaction to it (typically makeup removers cause me to break out or make my face red, hot and blotchy)
L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara in 201 black - I've been loving this mascara lately because it doesn't clump like crazy, it lengthens my lashes really well, and is so inexpensive!!
HERO COSMETICS - Mighty Patch Duo - I've used the original ones twice on some pretty big pimples and just a few hours later they were ready to pop! Also, I wore them during the day and tbh they aren't really that noticeable, maybe it's because of my skin tone & how the color of the patches is similar. They also stay on pretty well and really do the trick.
Glossier. - Balm Dotcom in fig - I absolutely love this flavor and it's definitely the one I reach for the most. I've heard mixed reviews about it, and as someone who hasn't even tried a fig, I now want to try one. (the flavor probably isn't the exact same but that's ok)
MARC JACOBS BEAUTY - O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect in 102 tantric - this is my favorite bronzer ever and it's such a great value, because you get so much product. It's buildable, smooth, and smells so good!! NOTE: if you tap this item, it'll say that it's $65, which it's not! It's on sale for $34 at Sephora ($49 originally)
DIOR - BACKSTAGE Face & Body Foundation in 1 cool rosy - I love this foundation and I've been reaching for it lately because of how smooth and buildable it is.
ARMANI beauty - Luminous Silk Foundation in 3.75 - great coverage, super smooth, and really easy to blend out. One thing I do find when I use this foundation is that I need 2 pumps in order to get it to cover my whole face. It's not something super concerning, but I find some foundations go farther and I don't mind using 2 pumps tbh.

Too Faced’ Better Than Sex mascara and the L’Oréal Voluminous Lash Paradise not only look very similar but perform pretty identical as well! A minor difference includes the BTS mascara having a heavier tube than the VLP.
When it comes to performance;

Full and Long Lashes - The Perfect Duo
Who doesn’t love full, long fluffy eyelashes?
To me, mascara is one of the most important steps in my makeup routine; it ties the look together in a perfect bow, completing the whole package.
The number one thing I look for in a mascara is the volumizing factor, since my eyelashes are quite fair and not very thick. I can get away with mascaras that offer less in lengthening since my eyelashes are long, just not very defined. I still like to add on some additional length though cuz why not?! :)
The Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara is amazing for adding fluffy volume; it defines the lashes beautifully and gives them a “falsies” look. My sample size is going strong but I will definitely have to purchase a full size soon.
When it comes to the L’Oreal Telescopic, it doesn’t give as much volume, but it is powerful in giving some length. I find that it works better after the first couple uses.
Put these two mascaras together and you have the perfect combo!

My killer mascara duo 👊🏼💢
I have pretty long and thick lashes already, but this mascara duo really takes things from 0-100! For some reason I have lashes that absolutely WILL NOT hold a curl, so I always have to buy the waterproof versions of mascaras. That is the only way that they will hold any sort of curl at all. My other secret is that I head up my eyelash curler with a lighter (or hair dryer) beforehand. After curling my lashes, I begin applying Too Faced - Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara to my lashes form root to tip. I feel like this mascara is perfect for thickening lashes, and is much thicker than the Loreal Telescopic. Once I have applied enough of the Better Than Sex, I immediately begin applying L'ORÉAL - Telescopic Waterproof Mascara . I feel like the brush on the Telescopic is perfect for brushing out any clumps from the Better Than Sex. The Telescopic is also amazing for lengthening!! For me, using the two of these together is a perfect combination. Plus, the curl lasts all day long!!! #CheriePartner
Too Faced-Better Than Sex Waterproof Mascara
DUPE ALERT!
This mascara is the bomb!! It’s the drugstore dupe for the Too Faced “better than sex” mascara! I used to use the Too Faced one, and switched over to the L’Oréal Lash Paradise a few years ago because of the price difference. Too Faced version retails for about $26 and L’Oréal retails for $10, so definitely a big price difference! I’ve been using it consistently for the past 3 years, and I haven’t strayed away from it one bit! I use the primer combo and I have noticed that it stays looking fresher all day when I have the primer on underneath the mascara. My lashes never look clumpy like they have in the past from using other brands. This is for everyday wear and you can build on it if you want a more dramatic look, or just apply about 2 swipes for a natural everyday look! My only downside to this mascara is I have noticed that it dries up inside the bottle very quickly. I usually have to buy a new one every 2-3 months. Other than that, this mascara is AMAZING, especially at the price point!! #cheriecreator

Want big, bold, voluminous lashes?? Well I have found it!
I have always said that if I’m stranded on a desert island, I will only need a solid tube of mascara. A good mascara is a life changer. I had been getting lash extensions since the beginning of the year, but since the pandemic hit, I wanted to find a mascara that was comparable to the lash extension effects. Not an easy task!
After YEARS of searching and testing and trying, I have finally found the BEST mascara. I have tried them all: better than sex, diorshow, Chanel l’volume (a close second best), L’Oréal voluminous, the falsies, tarte, essence, benefit...ALL OF THEM.
LANCÔME - Monsieur Big Mascara is an incredible mascara. No wonder its always at the top of all the best of lists. It delivers on bold, voluminous lashes in only one or two coats. In fact, I’ve never had a mascara that performs so well even on the first coat. It’s not a wet formulation, and not very dry either which ensures it won’t be flaky or clumpy. It separates and allows for definition as well.
It does have a “fluffy” average sized wand which allows for you to get close enough to separate and build. It lasts all day, and does not flake or smudge once it’s dry. I do find that if I put a setting spray I have to be VERY careful not to look up or down as it can transfer onto the skin.
It does really last forever, and even when pulling off mascara with my fingers, it is really adhered to the lash. At the end of the night, it does take a bit to get off, as I do use an oil and then go over it with an eye makeup remover, but it does come off eventually.
Overall, I am SO happy to have found this mascara and I’m already on my 3rd tube.
Whoever loves big bold lush lashes...check this out.

Amazing Mascara Alert!! (Inexpensive)
I have short, EXTREMELY straight eyelashes. I have never been able to find a product that curls and lengthens them without falling flat in a few hours. However, that has changed!
I’ve started using a combination of Etude House Dr. Mascara Fixer ($6.50 on Amazon) and Heroine Make Long and Curl waterproof mascara ($9.49 on Amazon).
I have spent so much money on so many mascaras, but this $16 combo is doing the trick. Simply curl lashes, apply fixer and apply mascara.
