dehydrated skin no more! 🌵
did anyone else do a HUGE Paula’s Choice haul over Black Friday/Cyber Monday? I did! I picked up a few items from their 30% off sale but my favorite has been their PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8 Percent AHA Gel Exfoliant
Dec. 16, 2020
I struggle a lot with scarring. I have hugeeeee pores and nothing i do seems to help. I was washing my face with PAULA'S CHOICE - Clear Pore Normalizing Cleanser but just recently Switched over to CeraVe - Renewing SA Cleanser For Normal Skin I use Mad Hippie - Vitamin C Serum in the mornings Then The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Then earth science - Perfect Hydration, Oil-Free Moisturizer It is oil free and unscented ! I then finally use PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 That is my morning routine. At night i do the same cleanser then i use The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8 Percent AHA Gel Exfoliant ACURE - The Essentials 100% Plant Squalane Oil earth science - Perfect Hydration, Oil-Free Moisturizer I exfoliate once a week with YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Yerba Mate Resurfacing Energy Facial I don’t get too many zits anymore. I thought I had fungal acne but I’m not quite sure I do. Really struggling with blackheads, enlarged pores and scarring. For vitamins i recently began taking these again: LOVE THEM HUM - Daily Cleanse Detox Supplement And started vitamin A, vitamin b5, and zinc. I also take a probiotic from Trader Joe’s and recently bought these and will be starting them soon as well. #Hum - WING MAN[products]#[FiveStars] Which includes supplements that detox the liver. Im not sure if I’m overdoing it but i just am getting desperate. It might not look that bad but it really makes me self conscious. Any advice is very appreciated 🥰
Trying something new, Yay or Nay?
Whenever I try a skin care product, to give a fair review, I will always use it for 2+ weeks. I have used this for 3. I have super dry skin, and had every intention of getting the FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Cream Pink Grapefruit . I have used it in the past, and it has done great things for my skin. I don't live near a sephora and just hadn't gotten around to ordering it. I was doing my weekly grocery trip, when I spotted this. I had heard of it before, and thought, what the hell. I have since used it religiously, on my face and body, and it's love Whats more, it's $20 cheaper than first aid. I would recommend this product, and it will be a staple for me from now on
Daily Skincare Routines for Sensitive Skin
I have sensitive mixed skin, and once I had a hard time finding appropriate skin care products. In spring, my skin always gets dry, especially the eye region, while in the meantime some parts of my face get a little oily. And I also have occasional eczema problems. So trying over products had been my routine until I found the following products catering to all my concerns. These products should be applied after finishing cleansing. Step 1 Clinique Different™ Moisturizing Gel This product is used after lotion and before serum. When I feel too oily on my face, I will delete the process of applying serum. This gel contains hyaluronic acid and it acts as a natural moisture humectant. This gel is lightweight and cool but it does well in moisturizing. And it soaks into my skin very quickly. Both AM and PM use. Step 2 Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado I have tried many eye cream products but this one tops in my lists. Eye is an area that needs intensive care in case of eye lines and wrinkles. This is why Kiehl’s avocado works. Avocado oil is known to nourish, moisturize and soften skin. I always apply under eye cream along the orbital bone with my fingertips and then gently tab around delicate eye area until fully absorbed. I just apply it at night and my eyes get brightened the morning after. Step 3 First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream(GrapeFruit) This cream is famous for its super intense hydration. I will call it a skin protectant. My skin is sensitive, acne-prone and sometimes gets frustrated by eczema. When other moisturizing cream tend to irritate my skin problems, this cream is 100 percent trustworthy. The scent is nice. This is definitely a natural infusion. It cares my skin. I apply it twice, in the morning and in the evening as the last step of skin care.
Calming Skincare Routine!
In this video I use the following items: ❤️Dr Jart- Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum 🧡Farmacy- Daily Greens Moisturizer 💛Evergreen & Birch- Blue Tansy Oil 💚Paula’s Choice- Youth Extending Hydrating Fluid 💙MotherDirt- Probiotic AO+ Mist This is a routine for my sensitive and combination skin that is acne-prone when I need soothing ingredients and products. ❤️The Cicapair line by Dr Jart is meant to be really calming and I like all of the items I’ve tried from it but went for the serum today to get that calming effect on right away. This serum isn’t super thick and has a lovely smell to it too. 🧡I’m enjoying the new Farmacy moisturizer so far! It’s oil-free and silicone-free. It’s a gel texture and absorbs beautifully and doesn’t make me break out. 💛Evergreen & Birch is a small business made in CT with gorgeous ingredients in small batches! I can’t say enough about their products and I chose this because blue tansy has anti-inflammatory properties. 💚This Paula’s Choice sunscreen is my FAVORITE. It doesn’t feel sticky or leave a white cast at all. It just absorbs and gives you SPF 50 and a slight glow. 💙MotherDirt Mist- I use this to add bacteria that is good for my microbiome back to my face after washing it and going through this routine. I find it helps with my acne a lot and it’s very refreshing. Spot any faves? 👀 Dr. Jart+ - Cicapair Tiger Grass Serum FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-Extending Daily Hydrating Fluid MOTHERDIRT - AO + Mist
MOTHERDIRT-AO + Mist
I've been using the lumene Valo line as my exclusive morning routine for the past week and a half. While this isn't enough time to tell whether the brightening aspects are working, I can tell you that these are all lovely, hydrating, lightweight products. It's always nice to be able to test a whole range together, as the products are formulated to complement each other. When used together this routine has made my skin softer and provided the perfect amount of moisture to keep my combo skin hydrated but not oily. Lumene Valo Cleansing Balm - a lovely creamy cleansing balm that effectively took off my light makeup when used at night and left skin feeling very clean. I think this is more suited to an evening routine as it's more cleansing than I need in the morning. Lumene Valo Glow Refresh Hydrating Mist - this mist toner provides a layer of watery moisture, crucial for the summer months. Very light and gentle, and doesn't sting my eyes! Lumene Valo Glow Boost Essence - a super hydrating essence rich in vitamin C. Feels very light and non-greasy. Has become my go-to hydrating serum! Lumene Valo Glow Reveal Day Cream - the perfect weight moisturizer for combination skin. More hydrating than a gel, but very light for a cream. Absorbs impressively well!
Great for oily skin
After using these products for a week I’m amazed! I didn’t expect to see results so soon. It feels like I got new skin; my skin feels fresh, smooth and soft. It looks brighter and more radiant. These products are safe for sensitive skin. I’m in love! Definitely recommend. Get yours @willingbeautycompany
🍃Red Earth🍃 ▪️Hydrate Refreshing Cleanser with Tasmanian Sea Kelp: this cleanser is extremely soothing on my dry, winter skin! It has more of a lotion/creamy texture vs. a gel and cleans my skin well without leaving it feeling stripped 👌🏻 . ▪️Deep Dive Water Cream & Thirst Quenching Water Essence: I love trying new water gels since my skin is SO oily 💦- and this container instantly caught my attention! Both the essence and the gel are hydrating and smoothing (but they do contain silicones so they may not be the best moisturizers for acne-prone skin people - they didn’t cause any noticeable skin congestion or breakouts for me but I only had minis so was only able to use them a few times).
so as we all know..... we’re in a global pandemic. and while some people focused on loosing weight, learning a new skill, or maybe playing animal crossing, ive put my mind on using up some of the products ive had laying around for a bit. the first product i finished up was DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum i first used this serum on december 5th and would occasionally stop using it. but may 2nd would be the last she would pump her luxurious insides😪 next was DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream like b hydra i first used her on december 5th and her last few pumps were on may 2nd. i was kinda shocked to find out that id run out of this product on the same day as b hydra but i mean... oh well. then we have FIRST AID BEAUTY - Ultra Repair Oil-Control Moisturizer i first used this moisturizer on april 6th and her death date is undisclosed 😳 i really don’t remember when i finished her up but i can only assume it was around the beginning of june 🤷🏻♀️ idk sowy and finally.... the moisturizer that took me the longest to finish was boscia - Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer i had first gotten this moisturizer for my birthday but had started to use it on march 12th. and finally finished her last night soooo on august 19. throughout her time i had started to use other moisturizers like the fab ulta repar oil control. then i finished up the drunk elephant moisturizer, then back to the fab moisturizer then i bought the naturium moisturizer aaahhhhh so much shopping i know. but i recently has gone back to the boscia moisturizer to recover my skin from a fungal acne breakout but now that shes gone, FIRST AID BEAUTY - Hello FAB Coconut Water Cream will take over her position 😀 like and save! xo melanie
DRUNK ELEPHANT-B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum
When a product smells exactly like whats in it! 🍀🌹 Keep reading till the end! ProductReview I have tried these products for a couple of weeks and wanted to give them a real chance. The Sooth and Repair Daily Moisturizer* and the Midnight Beauty Serum* both have coriander and rose in it. Trust me, they smell exactly like it! Which shows how fresh the ingredients are in the product. The coriander is very overpowering and since I am a big foodie it made me crave food whenever I put it on! 🙈😅 So that scent was causing a small little problem haha The cream itself is said to have a moisturizing effect and is meant for normal to oily skin. I do agree to it being moisturizing but it wasn’t hydrating enough for my normal skin type. To make it hydrating, I did have to add in their serum! This is something they recommend people with dry skin to do but I think if you got normal skin you need to do that too! Cause I had to! The cream on its own may good for combination or oily skin but I can’t vouch for that as I don’t have that skin type! I did love the effect of their exfoliator. It is a physical one and it is quite strong, yet gentle and I did love the way this one smelled! With most physical exfoliator I always rub it on to me skin a little aggressively but this one I didn’t feel the need to. If you ask me which one of these three I would purchase? I would have to say the exfoliator! I am thinking about it actually! Remember, I have normal skin but I am prone to random breakouts.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.2 DAYS AGO
