PRIMED & READY. I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect
PRIMED & READY. I am constantly on the hunt for the perfect primer. The one that will smooth out all my scarring and texture. And I've come close to finding the perfect one. Here is a collection of some of my favorite primers I've come across. MilkMakeup - Blur Stick - great if you're in a hurry. I will say I've had issues with it clumping on my skin where there is more texture, so it's not my "go to gal" Urban Decay Primer Potion (anti-aging formula) When I'm going to wear a heavier eye look, this is usually the one I reach for. It holds the look in place really well and helps prevent creasing Smash box Photo Finish - This is the first real face primer I purchased and I think it does a pretty good job of smoothing out the surface of my face for foundation. it is a bit thicker than the rest, so I don't use it regularly. Touch In Sol No Pore-Blem Primer - despite the kind of weird name it works. Just plain works. This is a great everyday primer. It's not too heavy and really smooths things out very well Tatcha Silk Canvas - my Holy Grail of priming. This stuff is magic. It's the closest to perfect I've found so far. The consistency is smooth and silky, and leaves your skin feeling the same. Not only does it prime your skin well but it also improves your skin over time. .

SherylHave you tried the putty primer by elf? I’ve heard it’s a dupe of the tatcha one. I have both but haven’t used them yet 😅

LETS GO TO THE CLUB🥂
ok guys, I know this looks super complicated but it’s actually super simple to create!!❤️ I ended up creating this look earlier in quarantine for a birthday look I would’ve totally worn this year but OFC corona had to ruin everything but I still ended up creating the look for fun and fell in love with the way it come out! 🥰 My skin is very oily, acne prone and sensitive but I got that down after so many years of doing skincare + makeup so I know exactly what products to help balance out my oils👍🏽 so let’s get to the main event, the eyes👀 STEPS started by using the URBAN DECAY - Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion all over the lid the only palette and my FAVOURITE palette I think everyone needs is the ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Jackie Aina Eyeshadow Palette and I used the shades, ginger and edges in the crease and then credit in the outer corner and my lid shade, I was DYING to use sponsored for a look and I had to for this and my gosh was this vibrant snd in your face! FYI I didn’t use any spray or fix+ to help with the shimmer shade on the lid, just used a dry flat brush to apply it and that’s the amount of pigment I got! If you are going to buy one product from this, it has to be this if you can still find it!! I used the black shadow from the MORPHE - Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette which is another favourite of mine in my stash! Ans smoked the black shade into my lash line with a slight wing applied my favourite mascara which is the MAYBELLINE - Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara which has been a repurchase and the reason why my lashes look like this in these pictures 😝 finally to add a pop into my inner corner, I took my highlight MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish Highlight Face Powder shade global glow on my brow bone and inner corners and my cheeks as well and then to add a pop to my lower lash line, I took the NYX - Slide on Eye Pencil in a rich emerald green colour and applied it to my lower lash line along with the brown shades from the ABH palette to smoke out my lower lash line and omg, I’m obsessed ofc for the lips, I had to use FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer to finish off the look and that’s it! It’s actually super simple yet looks super intricate with the super BAM shimmer shade applied to my lid and I would’ve totally worn this out to a club for my bday! 🥳 #cheriepartner
BROWN EYES + BROWN EYESHADOW = 😘
Who doesn’t love some wonderful brown warm shades? Nobody cause everyone is obsessed! And since it’s fall time, I knew I wanted to create a fun fall inspired look that enhances my brown eyes without being overwhelming 💕 URBAN DECAY - Anti-Aging Eyeshadow Primer Potion started off by priming my lids with this since I have oily eyelids so we need to prime to hold the shadow FENTY BEAUTY - Snap Shadows Mix & Match Eyeshadow Palette so I’m using #7 cadet and the shade “good cookie” which is a BEAUTIFUL shimmery copper bronze tone that legit looks like skin is just glistening without being super crazy on the lids so it’s perfect for the fall time and as an everyday shade ✨ (the swatch on the last slide is not doing it justice but it’s beautiful!) FENTY BEAUTY - Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer used the shade caramel cutie in my crease first to blow out the other colours. I always start with this product because it’s legit the most perfect shade for everything I do! VESCA - Soft-Matte Bronzing Powder Kissed By used the shade maldives to add more depth into the outer corner. It’s perfect for contouring my face but also perfect to add a bit of depth before really building with other deeper shades MORPHE - Morphe X Manny MUA Glam Palette used the shades spellbound & howl to add more depth to the outer corner and buff it out on the lower lash line to create a more smokey vibe. Also used the highlight shade Apollo in my inner corners and my brow bone L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Original Mascara just to add to my top and bottom lashes. This is not waterproof but it’s super black so I think I need to try the waterproof version for it to help my curl and add the volume I love. So this look so truly my go to look during the fall months because of how warm yet sexy it really is and it’s super simple as well!! If you have yet to play around with the same colours as your eyes, I highly recommend it as it’s sooo fun! 😉 #cheriepartner

Another Marshall’s Haul
Before the snow hit in the north east, I had to hit up Marshall’s so I had some new products to play with. This shopping trip I found makeup products from Becca and Milk to try out. As with any trip to Marshall’s it’s hit or miss with products and shade ranges, so I know this foundation is a bit too light, but the undertone was right. There were also a few other things I wanted, but their packaging was open and the products were clearly touched. So let’s dive in to what I used for this look (3rd pic, I don’t use any filters/beauty mode). Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick I like the powdery finish it leaves on my skin. I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide how much I like it. BECCA - Ultimate Coverage 24 Hour Foundation I’m generally not a fan of full coverage foundation. But this does not feel heavy or caking on my skin (yes, it’s a shade too light). I applied it pretty lightly, but you can easily build this up to you preferred coverage level. BECCA - Limited Edition Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder I was pleasantly surprised by this powder. I usually only use powder lightly under my eyes o set my concealer, but this was so light that I used it all over my face. It did not settle into my fine lines or make me look dry (aging skin). I applied with a velour puff and used a fluffy brush to remove the excess. Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek I’m a big fan of cream products and the fact that this does double duty, lips and cheeks, makes it a winner in my book. Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara I’ve been dying to try this mascara (if you’ve read any of my previous posts, you know I’m on an unending hunt for the perfect mascara). But I couldn’t justify the price tag if it was just going to end up in the “meh” pile of mascaras I already have. It gave a great first impression, but I’ll have to use it a few more times before I decide to invest in a full sized tube. For under $40, I got to try some high end products that are usually out of my budget. I love Marshall’s for exactly this reason! What is your favorite Marshall’s find?
Miniature Milk Makeup haul
Milk Makeup is a brand I’ve been dying to try. But it is not in my budget. So when I got my hands on these mini products for under $20, I couldn’t wait to play with them!! Milk MAKEUP - Vegan Milk Moisturizer after one use, I like it, but it’s something that I’ll have to use all of before I decide for sure. Milk MAKEUP - Blur Stick easy to apply. Didn’t have to use my fingers. Milk MAKEUP - Lip + Cheek love!! I enjoy a cream blush, and the fact that it does double duty as a lip gloss is even better. Milk MAKEUP - Kush Waterproof Mascara this is the product that I’ve been most excited to try. The brush is quite large and it applies the mascara nicely without clumping. What’s your favorite Milk product?

SEPHORA HAUL 🔥💰🖤
Okay so I said I wasn’t going to buy anything from Sephora this month.. but then my vitamin C serum ran out so here we are! The list of products I’ve tried: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream Big DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% What’s new to me: FARMACY - Very Cherry Bright 15% Clean Vitamin C Serum with Acerola Cherry Living proof. - 5-in-1 Styling Treatment (sample) touch in SOL - No Poreblem Primer(sample) #Jlo Beauty - That Jlo Glow Serum[products]#(sample) Any suggestions for what to buy next?!
One of my favs in primer
Okay so this product: touch in SOL - No Poreblem Primer It’s literally one of my favorites and has been for a long while. It’s a k-beauty brand and you can tell I use it a lot. It’s very soft and smoothing and I feel like when I use it with my makeup it just helps my foundation and everything else glide right on and stay on in the consistency I like. I definitely recommend this primer if you enjoy your pores looking non existent in makeup and smooth application. 😊

My fav drug store product of 2020 for only $8!
Guys, I seriously can’t tell you how much I am in love with this primer! I’ve previously used Lancôme, Smashbox, Urban Decay and CoverFX primers which are all significantly more expensive than the US$8 / AU$16 for the e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer This product is legit amazing! It has the most soft silky texture on the skin, fills your pores but doesn’t cause congestion or breakouts and makes my makeup look flawless! It’s a pale pink in the packaging but once it’s smooths into the skin completely disappears. There is no strong smell or fragrances so is completely pleasant to use. It’s considered by many beauty bloggers to be a dupe for the TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primerwhich I haven’t tried but at US$52 / AU$83 is roughly between 5-7 times more expensive depending on where you live! If you’re in the market for a primer which not only feels lovely on your skin but makes your pores appear smooth and your makeup flawless then I highly recommend you give the e.l.f. Poreless Putty Primer a go 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Perfect Primer (for all skin types) 💜🦄
I feel like primer is the most underrated step of the makeup routine! Many people will blame their foundation, powder, or setting spray for their makeup not lasting.. when it's really your primer or lack-of to blame! 😲 You wouldn't paint a wall without using a primer, so why would you not prime something even more precious before applying your products? The TATCHA - The Silk Canvas Protective Primer is one of the best primers I have ever used! You only need a pea sized amount of this primer to cover your whole face, meaning that this product is worth the extra coin you have to spend on it 💸 By helping to fill your pores and give you an aribrushed look 🤩 There have been a few days I've skipped foundation cause this primer alone makes my skin look so good! Will I repurchase - Totally! This primer is great and you can use any high- or low-end foundation and have amazing rests!
Introducing the Primer & Foundation products BECCA that I been added to my skincollection. Backlight Priming Filter - Love, love this primer! I have tried a lot of primers and this by far my favorite! It gives me that beautiful sun kissed glow!! I can't say enough about it, it's perfect. Ultimate Coverage 24-hour Foundation -This was the first time that I have ever used this product. Feels light and fresh on the skin.Very natural looking smooth finish foundation. It's water-resistant, long wear formula. I recommend this products to everyone who enjoy makeup.
BECCA-Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer
✨Becca - Brand Spotlight✨
This brand first caught my attention during the big craze with Jaclyn Hill and Champagne Pop years ago... that’s when I was really starting to get into makeup, especially more expensive makeup. I was excited to get some of their products in a gift with purchase and be able to try their products and enjoyed them so much I ended up purchasing quite a few products from them after that! Overall, I think this brand makes great highlighters and is honestly pretty affordable with how little you need to use and how long they last! . ✔️Hit✔️: The BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Rose Gold! This shade is described as a rosy pink with warm, gold pearl and is especially flattering for medium-tan skin tones. I got this as part of a gift with purchase recently and while I don’t wear this color often (I can only wear it when I’m tan), I definitely LOVE the formula! It is so easy to work with and intensely life mentee, so you barely need to dip your brush in. It looks so wet and dewy, I don’t think it’s for someone who doesn’t like a noticeable or dramatic highlight. If you lightly use your finger instead of a brush, I feel like it could give you a subtle glow if that’s what you’re going for. I barely had to swipe my finger to get the swatch this stunning 🤩 I’ve used up a mini of Champagne Pop and man did it live up to the hype! I got compliments every time I wore it. It lasts throughout the whole day and sometimes by the end of the day, my highlight can make me look greasy, but these just stay looking like a pretty highlight! This is definitely one of my holy grail highlighters and will continue purchasing! Price: $38 for 0.28 oz/8 g Rating: 5/5 . 🚫Miss🚫: The BECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector is literally THE worst primer I have ever tried 😂 the purpose of it is to perfect and minimize pores for mattified skin for up to 12 hours. No matter how much or little skincare, or the product/brand of skincare, that I used, this primer would balk up all over my face and result in any foundation looking terrible. I tried working with this multiple times with various skincare regimens and foundations and the result was the same - a 💩 show! I tried rubbing and patting this in, nothing worked. The pilling would get all over my shirt too and I’d have to dust it off with a brush and change my shirt. I expected more from this primer since it was so expensive (bought it when it was half off during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty a few years back) and my skin was very oily. I just need to toss this primer, I’ve been holding onto it because I feel bad wasting a product, but this literally messes up all your skincare underneath and makes your base makeup look terrible afterwards. I don’t have time to baby a product to make it work for me. This is terrible, I would recommend grabbing a sample of this before purchasing to ensure it doesn’t do the same for you! Price: $39 for 1.35 oz/ 40mL Rating: 1/5
BECCA-Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
This or That - Face Primer Edition
Well well well we officially have ourselves a mini competition between Primer is the best one! Let’s begin with some background information - I have a light to medium skin with pink undertone and oily combo skin. Since I have skin on the oily side, I must always use a primer when wearing foundation. I received these two minis in a gift with purchase set in the fall season. I ran out of my full size primer but before buying a new one I wanted to use up all of my samples. I have been using them both interchangeably for the last month and now we can discuss details about both items and which one I prefer! Tarte Base Tape Hydrating Primer tarte - Double Duty Beauty Base Tape Hydrating Primer ( $30.00 - 1 oz) is a “vegan, coconut priming Serum that hydrates for 12 hours, nourishes, and smoothes skin’s appearance,” according to Ulta. It’s a white very scented primer that is on the more watery side as primers go. I typically apply the primer and let it settle for 15 minutes as I eat breakfast in the morning since I feel like it’s too wet post application for makeup. I believe this primer is meant for individuals with normal or dry skin since it has plenty of hydration. Usually I don’t need more hydration but it is is cold in the east coast and I need some extra hydration from time to time. When I apply it on my face, it’s rather sticky and leaves my foundation feeling sticky as well. I apply setting powder but by noon I am more oily as opposed to using a matte primer. I give it four stars since I do not like the sticky element of the product. I love the smell and it for sure gives my skin hydration. On the other hand we have Becca’s First Light Priming FilterBECCA - Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector ($39.00 - 1.0oz). Almost $10 more than Tarte’s primer. I love that this primer is the prettiest shade of lavender and has a slight irradescent afterglow. This primer can be used on all skin tones and “combats dullness and minimizes imperfections for a brighter, refreshed complexion,” according to Ulta. Apparently it has a citrus scent but I don’t pick up on it to be honest. This has more a thicker consistency and applies smoothly on the face! When I use this primer I feel like my face isn’t at shiny and the foundation applies well with the primer. Again, I feel like it’s maybe not the best primer for oily combo skin but for those days when it’s cold and my face is dry it’s good! Just like all my primers, I apply it on and then let it set for a few minutes. So far this is an efficient primer! In the end, I prefer Becca’s primer because it does not leave as much shine on my face and it doesn’t leave my face feeling sticky. For the most part I wear makeup for 10 hours a day and this one just does the job better! 💜💜💜 This is my opinion and maybe you think Tarte is better but for me today, Becca is the best!

milk luminous blur
the product: Milk MAKEUP - Luminous Blur Stick Primer the rating: 4/5, i liked it but it was not entirely blurring or glowy the review: i am a HUGE milk makeup fan, and have yet to find a product i didnt like. this one was good, but not my favorite. luminous blur is a primer stick that creates a smooth canvas with a little bit of glitter. while i liked the smoothness, my pores were still visible. i prefer milk makeups blur stick (not luminous) the price: $36, but lasts forever!
Milk MAKEUP-Luminous Blur Stick Primer
NO more Poreblems
This primer works for the people who want to reduce the appearance of their larges pores (like me). It’s not so expensive, i bought this on their website. I recommend this to anyone who have larges pores, I really see differences on my skin, it’s really good and worths the price

Not mad at the elf Poreless Putty Primer!
e.l.f. - Poreless Putty Primer I am NOT MAD at this dupe of the Tatcha Silk Canvas that elf came out with! I am a ride or die user of Silk Canvas and I have already hit bottom but I am trying to make it last longer by supplementing other primers in between uses. Listen, I will do just about anything for $8 so it took zero convincing for me to try this dupe when I heard about it. And it is a dupe through and throughhhhh — component type, color, texture - everything! I’ll say the elf dupe is a little less thick than the Tatcha. A little less spackle like as I like to call it which my more makeup guru type friends say means its more silicone-y probably. But I still feel it gave me a good base for my makeup! Not slippery at all. I think this is a great buy if you want something similar to supplement your silk canvas or want to dip your toe into putty/thick cream primers but aren’t trying to cough up the $50+ for Tatcha

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.1 DAY AGO
