Makeup Removing Routine for Sensitive Skin
As much as I love putting together a makeup look, I often can’t wait to take it off at the end of a long day! Many of us can often neglect this step, but it is important to offer your due diligence in ensuring that your skin is kept clean and healthy, and that means taking off your makeup! It’s fun to be creative and create art through makeup, but we have to take care of the canvas! These 3 simple steps are perfect for those with sensitive skin that don’t like using too many products, or for someone that is lazy when it comes to taking off their makeup at the end of the day, and wants a quick solution. Step 1) GARNIER - SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover I cannot express how amazing this stuff is! It takes off my makeup so easily, and I definitely prefer it to oil based makeup removers that leave my skin with an annoying oily residue. All I do is take a cotton pad, soak it with the water, and wipe off all my face makeup. I follow up by taking the cotton pad to my eye and holding it for a few seconds before swiping off my eye makeup. This stuff dissolves mascara effortlessly, which is the top thing I look for in a makeup remover’s capability. I then go back with a second cotton pad and run the water over my face again to remove any remnants. Step 2) Glossier. - Milky Jelly Cleanser This is my favorite step - cleansing! Makeup remover isn’t enough, you have to thoroughly clean out your pores. I like to use a method known as “dry cleansing”, which I describe in my previous post. Essentially it is when you use your cleanser minus any water in order to use it to its full efficacy. Check out my post for a thorough step by step technique. The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is my all time favorite for sensitive skin and leaves it feeling clean and soft. Step 3) CLINIQUE - Moisture Surge 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator After cleaning our face and stripping it of its oils, it’s important to follow up with a moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. The Clinique Moisture Surge offers a nice cooling effect and leaves my skin feeling soft and nourished. There you have it! Three simple steps to get you to cleaner and happier skin. Never neglect taking off your makeup! Trust me, your skin will thank you in the morning!

What is Dry Cleansing and Why You Should Do It
If you haven’t heard of dry cleansing your probably wash your face in the following way: rinse your face with water, apply some cleanser, and massage in. While there is nothing necessarily wrong about doing it this way, you are missing out on a better way. Dry cleansing is exactly as it sounds. You are essentially cleansing your face dry, without any water mixing with the cleanser. In this way you are using your cleanser to its full efficacy and concentration, without dilution from any water. This will ultimately loosen up the dirt in your pores more effectively and allow you to use your cleanser to its full potential. Follow these steps: 1) Apply cleanser to your hand (works best with non foaming cleanser). 2) Massage cleanser into dry skin, making sure you cover the full surface area of your face. Don’t get into the habit of only focusing on your T-Zone. Remember to cleanse your jawline, temples, and hair line as well. 3) Soak your hands with warm water and continue massaging the cleanser into the skin. 4) Rinse off cleanser. 5) Pat skin dry. This simple change in your cleansing routine can make a big difference. I found that using the dry cleansing method has left my skin cleaner, pores tighter and more clear. Give it a try and see a difference!
Signature Nail Colors for Fall 🍂💅🏻
Fall is here and it’s time to bring out the vampy polish tones! Lately I’ve been enjoying these two dark nail looks. “not so low-key” is a deep burgundy (slightly berry toned) polish by Essie, which falls into their quick dry line (Expressie). Once it gets colder I can imagine it going together with a look that includes knee high boots, a burgundy sweater, and camel overcoat - loooove. I love the consistency of the polish and that it dried down very quick. I believe I only needed two coats to get it to a nice deep color, but I did layer it over a white base. I found that it did chip relatively quickly though, especially if you have to wash your hands a lot. “Luxe Interior” is a Pacifica polish, black with very fine shimmery flecks. This I prefer to use on my toes rather than my fingernails, but that’s just personal preference. Since it’s not too cold where I live right now I can still get away with wearing open toed shoes and showing off my pedicure lol. I love wearing it with nude heels - the color pops beautifully. I’ve had it on my toes for three days now (only one coat!) and have not had any chips so far. I’ll definitely be exploring more of their colors. Don’t be afraid of dark polish! Just make sure you use a good base coat to prevent nail staining and a decent top coat to help maintain your manicure longer. essie - Expressie Quick-Dry Nail Polish PACIfICA - PACIfICA 7 Free Nail Polish

5 Steps for Soft and Natural Everyday Makeup 💋
Most days I prefer to go light on makeup if I’m just going out to run a few errands, or doing something casual with friends and family. I have a few key products that I use to help elevate my natural features, ones that I think are the most essential to help us feel more put together. Below are a few of my go to products when I want a fast, easy, and natural makeup look for everyday. You can substitute any of the specific products I mention for your own, these are just what I prefer! 1. BROWS BROWS BROWS Anytime I have nicely groomed and defined brows I immediately feel more confident. There’s something about a nicely fluffed brow that just makes me happy. Not only that, I find that it helps frame the face and adds a bit more definition to the eye area. My current favorite brow routine uses only two products: The Anastasia Brow Wiz and the Anastasia Brow Gel. The Brow Wiz has a very precise pencil tip that helps with shaping my brows and filling them in with small defined strokes, and the gel helps with adding even more definition and shape while making sure they stay put all day. 2. Conceal and Powder Concealer is the most important step to this routine. I focus my concealer application to the center of my face - think under the eyes, around the nose, and chin area. This is where I have the most redness so I focus here and then follow up with some powder. We’re not using a foundation in this routine, but for me the concealer is enough to help even out the skin tone and blend in with the rest of our bare skin, giving a seamless natural look. I’ve been using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and powder for years now, and they never fail me. 3. Rosy Cheeks I find that blush is a very important step after adding all that concealer and powder, which tends to flatten the face a bit. Blush will give your face a fresh look and help in defining facial structure. I don’t focus the product on the apples of my cheeks, I prefer to take it up on my cheekbones and then blend it to the apples just a bit, this defines my cheekbones more than if I only applied to the apples. Currently I’ve been loving the Wet n Wild Color Icon blush. 4. Bronzer This doesn’t serve the purpose you might expect in this particular routine. When I’m in a hurry out the door I don’t bother bronzing my face, but what I will do is put a bit of bronzer in the crease of my eyelids. It’s a quick and easy step that will define the eye and give it a bronzy look. I use the Benefit Hula Bronzer. 5. Maaaaascaraaaaa This speaks for itself. Without mascara my eyes just look incomplete lol. I’ve been loving the Buxom Lash Mascara, it gives my lashes ample volume and length, and opens up my eyes. Bonus (6.): Throw on some lip balm! 💋 I hope you’ve enjoyed taking a look at my quick and simple natural everyday makeup routine. Comment below on what your go-to everyday makeup products are, I’d love to know!

Smell like a Field of Floral 🌹- Dolce Perfume
This has been one of my go-to perfumes for the past few years. I nearly used up an entire bottle and am now onto my second! It’s Dolce by Dolce and Gabbana, and offers a beautiful, light floral fragrance. It is not a very heavy, give-yourself-a-headache type scent, but one that still lasts on me all day and is noticeable. I’ve gotten many compliments when wearing this perfume, and find that it is light enough for day time, but still elegant for an evening out. It is a fresh, bright scent and is described as having top notes of papaya flower and neroli leaves, middle notes of white amaryllis, water lily, and daffodil, with base notes of sandalwood, musk, and cashmeran. The musky notes leave a rich depth, and coupled with the white flowers lightens up to be a beautiful, fresh fragrance for day and night. I highly recommend this perfume, and hope you go out and give it a try! DOLCE&GABBANA - Dolce Eau de Parfum

Not Impressed...Wild Fig Balm Dotcom (Updated)
Glossier. - Balm Dotcom (Updated from 3 stars) Glossier has just come out with a new ~limited edition~ wild fig balm dotcom. It’s a unique flavor, one I haven’t seen been done before (not to my knowledge at least). First impression is that it has an almost floral flavor to it, not quite what I was expecting. I typically prefer more fruity flavors for lip products, so I’m not sure if I will be gravitating to this over my mango balm dotcom. One thing I really liked about this particular flavor, however, is its coral tint. I wasn’t expecting it be as prominent as it is, but it’s definitely not as sheer as I expected, and gives my lips a beautiful glossy tint. I can’t say much about this flavor since I just received it in the mail, but I have been using my mango balm dotcom for a few months now and I can base my review off that. Since using the product it has definitely grown on me. At first I looked at it as overrated petroleum jelly, but I have to say I have definitely grown to enjoy it and it makes my lips feel and look softer, BUT I have to reapply quite often, and for this reason I maintain my 3 star review. Update: After using the fig balm dotcom again today, I have to say I’m not enjoying this particular flavor very much. It’s floral fragrance is overwhelming and does not have a very pleasant taste. Unfortunately I’m gonna have to knock this down to 2 stars, I don’t see myself using it very much! Do you plan on picking up this wild fig balm dotcom? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
Cloud Paint DUPE! 🤩 OMG!
I set out to find the perfect dupe for Glossier’s Cloud Paint, and I think I found something really special. 🤩 The NYX “Sweet Cheeks” soft cheek tint is the perfect cream blush if you’re looking for a similar formula to Cloud Paint, but without the hefty price tag. Shade shown: “Nude’Tude” The product comes in a range of colors from dark purples to mauvey pinks. Buildable color Retails for around ~$9 USD Physician’s Formula Murumuru Lip Butter with SPF 15 was my first go at a sheer SPF lip. The only thing I didn’t LOVE about the lip butter was that it dries on skin fast, and therefore the color wears off pretty quickly... But the formula itself is SO creamy and soft on my lips I might just have to keep it. Shade shown: “Brazilian Nut” There isn’t a HUGE variety of shades Buildable, sheer color that’s easy to reapply Retails for around ~$7 USD I found both of these products at Target and they are also available online through select retailers. 😍🥰

DIY Fall Ombre Nails 🍁🍂💅🏻 Super Easy! ✨
These ombre nails are what I call “nail art without actually needing to be good at art”! These nail polish shades are perfect for Fall and definitely make me want to cozy up in bed with a book. Here is what I used: Thumb & Pinky: OLIVE&JUNE - HGC Nail Polish Pointer Finger: OLIVE&JUNE - JJ Nail Polish Middle Finger: OLIVE&JUNE - MG Nail Polish Ring Finger: OLIVE&JUNE - JO Nail Polish I love Olive & June nail polishes because their wide flat brushes make painting SO easy and the formulas are always so creamy. Once they dry, they are not going to chip or crack away! (Seriously! They last a good 2 weeks on me before I see a single chip!) They are $8 on the Olive & June website and they also offer *free* polish painting classes! They have beginner level classes up to advanced that teach you nail basics and nail art! Some tips for painting your nails: - Always build up the color with thin coats (it looks better and will dry much faster than thick goopy coats) - I like to do 3 strokes when painting each nail (first down the middle, and then one on each side) don’t overdo it on the strokes otherwise your polish may gunk up! - Wait 5 minutes between each coat and at least an hour after your top coat - Use some nail polish remover to prep your nail beds before application so it removes any impurities and oils from your nail (which can affect the longevity of your polish!)

⚡️Dry and flaky scalp problems no more!✨
Are you struggling with a dry scalp? Is it itchy or burning or flaky? Boy do I have a treat for you. So as a licensed cosmetologist I didn’t really learn as much as I wanted to about the ingredients in hair products. The instructors just told us that drugstore products were bad and did a lot of bad things to the hair. But when I started asking “why?” They had no answers. I wanted to know WHY are drugstore products bad? WHAT ingredients make these products bad and what happens when using them WHO makes these products and gets them into stores if they are so bad?! This took a lot of time and research on my own, but I am so glad I did it so I can help you understand a little bit more! I have been dabbling with making my own hair care products! I’ve made some waterless shampoos and conditioners (ended up very sandy but still worth a shot) and natural shampoo and conditioners. I’ve worked with a cosmetic chemist to help me make sure I wasn’t going to blow anything up or cause an accidental chemical reaction so it’d be safe! With what I’ve learned, pure extracts are what give you your benefits in your hair products! It’s not just hair products either I might add. There’s extracts in your body wash, your face wash your lotions and your toothpastes sometimes! The extracts I’ve found to help out with your itchy scalp are: Colloidal oatmeal-okay so this ones not necessarily an extract, but this really helps sooooothe the scalp. If you have eczema colloidal oatmeal is where it’s at! Amla Berry Extract- this extract is so rich of Vitamin C and antioxidants! This helps to prevent dandruff and itchiness due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties! Aloe Vera Juice Extract- aloe contains little enzymes that actually REPAIR your dead skin cells! Aloe is also very hydrating and moisturizing you give your hair a shiny finish (with no dandruff I might add) Bamboo Extract- this extract improves overall hair health! Helps with fullness and elasticity and it’s packed with antioxidants to really take care of the your hair(: Caffeine Extract- this is the creme de la creme of extracts for itchy scalp. Caffeine actually sloughs off dead skin cells by exfoliating the scalp! Cool right?! Exfoliation of the scalp means you’re really increasing blood flow and circulation. Increasing blood flow and circulation means its stimulating the scalp enough to promote hair growth! This literally helps with dry itchy scalp and promotes hair growth! It’s an amazing extract that I think everyone should try out because i mean..who doesn’t want their hair to grow?! If you choose to add extracts to your haircare regimen, I’d definitely try to add it to a deep conditioner you already have. If you choose to add it to your colloidal oatmeal, add some xanthan gum to thicken it up almost like a conditioner! Photo from bellatory.com
Calling all my fine and thin haired fam!!
Having super thin and limp hair is NOT fun. My entire life my hair was always think and frizzy. It took forever to dry and straighten and I hated it. I took it for granted and I wish more than anything I could have that hair back. 😩 I started losing my hair at a really fast rate a little after my daughter was born. I went to a bunch of doctors and they kept telling me nothing was wrong even though I also felt really horrible. Well long story short I was FINALLY diagnosed with hypothyroidism and Hashimotos and a couple other things and got on thyroid meds. My hair loss has slowed but not stopped completely. Enter in...... Nature Lab. - Volume Shampoo & Conditioner Duo When I say I can not be more thankful I found this brand I MEAN it!! This shampoo and conditioner gives me serious volume!! Key ingredients: APPLE STEM CELLS- Replenishes and maintains a balanced and healthy scalp which works to prevent premature hair loss. RICE PROTEIN- Builds volume, adds weightless moisture, and improves the overall appearance of fine, thin hair. SAKURA EXTRACT- Proprietary technology fostering color protection, locking in hair color brightness and increasing moisture. FREE OF Parabens, Sulfates, Phthalates, Animal Testing, Animal Cruelty, Animal Derived Ingredients. 🐰 My experience: As you can see in the 1st picture. My hair looks pretty thin and that’s with other volume styling products from another brand, In the second picture, you can see how thin my hair is on top BUT you can see the ginormous LIFT I get after using my Naturelab set. ( I know the picture is silly 😜 but go with it 😂) The third picture shows how my hair looks after styling. I have never had a shampoo and conditioner give me that much volume before!!! It smells incredibly good as well. I am actually expecting an order today of the volume mist and volume jelly so from here on out I can live out my 1980’s Farrah Fawcet fantasy 😂😂 I won’t be straying from this brand it truly is AMAZING!! I’ll update once I use the new products but if you are dealing with hair issues like me, DEFINITELY give it a try!! Oh! The best part! They aren’t expensive 🙌🏻🙌🏻 The set is only $28.00!!!! An all natural, cruelly free, hair brand that WORKS and it’s not expensive..... need I say more?!

A fenty gloss bomb dupe! ✨✨
Guys! Gals! We’ve got a dupe! I recently purchased the MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid from target. I was seeing really good reviews for this gloss so I purchased the shade Topaz as it looked the closest to my favorite gloss FENTY BEAUTY - Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow. It’s an incredible dupe for the gloss bomb. The shades are almost identical. The main differences between the two is that the fenty gloss definitely has a thicker consistency than the maybelline gloss, which is thinner and more viscous. However, my lips never feel sticky and I haven’t gotten that weird white line while wearing the maybelline gloss that I’ve experienced with other glosses. (In the swatch video, fenty is on the left and maybelline is on the right) Fenty gloss is $19.00 at Sephora Maybelline gloss is $6.99 at target
