B Hydra/ Umbra Sheer

These two Drunk Elephant products are ones that I didn’t think I loved right off the bat but they grew on me and now I use them pretty regularly. Especially B Hydra I love now for it’s lightweight gel like texture and ability to hydrate without leaving me greasy feeling. This has : Pro Vitamin B5 Pineapple ceramides Sodium hyaluronate Watermelon rind/apple/lentil extracts All of these help to attract moisture, increases luminosity and brightness in skin and help to improve the barrier function of skin. Usually I am perfectly fine only using this as my daytime moisturizer maybe mixed with a little cream if I’m feeling extra dry or like I need a bit more like during winter. Summer this is perfect for my oily skin. Umbra Sheer is a sheer physical sunscreen that works well, only thing I don’t love about it is that it kind of leaves a white cast on my skin so I definitely don’t think it would be best for darker skin tones. I’m pretty light and I still notice it especially in photos. But on the go I like to keep the minis with me so I can apply when I am out and about. Raspberry seed and Marula oils make this moisturizing at the same time as it protects.

Drunk Elephant- The Littles 🐘
I won this cute little kit in a raffle & I couldn’t be more thankful! I have always wanted to try these products but never wanted to spend the money on all of them incase I didn’t like them! Inside this kit are the following products: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 That’s literally a whole skincare routine! So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous “Face Smoothies” I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck. Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done! I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night! I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks! But so far, my skin feels & looks great! I have been breaking out lately & haven’t felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!! Thank you for reading! You guys are the best!! ❤️ @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

Products Getting Me Through Winter! ❄
Since I can remember I've had oily to combination skin, until this winter. It's been a rough one! My skin has been SO dry, and it's hard to keep up with it. Especially since I'm prone to acne and clogged pores, so I can't use a lot of heavy creams and pore clogging products. These I wouldn't be able to live without this winter! COSRX - Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence 🐌 I love this essence! This is a Korean product (Korean skin care will always be a hit). And it's made with Snail Mucin, weird right? This contains 96% snail mucin, which has incredible healing and antimicrobial properties. It promotes collagen production and aids in skin regeneration. And it's a top pick for dry skin types because of its amazing ability to hydrate. This has a jelly-like texture and I find myself ALWAYS reaching for this. Most of the claimed benefits do come with time. Another product I'm loving is the DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum 💧This is a serum that came in a DE kit and I really want the full size! This seriously feels like a cold drink of water for your skin. It's lightweight and spreads nicely. It not only has Sodium Hyaluronate, (which is like hyarulonic Acid on steroids) but also Pineapple Ceramide and provitamin B5, an amazing humectant. As well as a lentil/apple/watermelon complex. It's not crazy different from other Hyarulonic Acid serums I've tried, but it's great! I finally got to try the cult favorite DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream . And wow I'm glad I did! This cream does have a few possible pore clogging ingredients so I was afraid to use it, but It's helped my dryness so much! It feels sooo moisturizing and soothing. I love that this is a protein moisturizer that has peptides, growth factors, amino acids, and pygmy waterlily to improve your overall skin health. This is an amazing anti-aging and skin strengthening moisturizer. I love using this it's a great experience. I already reviewed this incredible product, the Glossier. - Balm Dotcom 👄 It's become a staple lip balm for me. It's extremely hydrating and packed with antioxidants and natural emollients. It has Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin to seal in moisture. It leaves my lips looking sooo hydrated and smooth. It's THE perfect lip balm and I am obsessed. Feel free to comment or ask any questions below 💗

Skincare 101: the Basics
Three products are all you really need to care for your skin. Well, maybe not *you* specifically, but let’s be frank: most people don’t *need* a twelve-step routine to take care of their skin. If you’re starting off in skincare, your financial situation has changed, or your skin has been flaring with redness/flaking/breakouts, opt for a super simple routine for a month or two to see how your skin does without the extra frills. It may surprise you how little you need to keep your skin happy! • 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿: Cleanse with water in the morning, or opt for a hydrating cleanser if you’re oily, workout, or just enjoy cleansing often. Double-cleanse with that hydrating cleanser (and/or an oil-based balm) in the evening, or opt for a single cleanse with a gel or foaming cleanser. My milky faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser and HOLI FROG - Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash , while my deep-cleansing faves are CeraVe - Hydrating Cream-To-Foam Cleanser and PAULA'S CHOICE - RESIST Perfectly Balanced Foaming Cleanser . • 𝗠𝗼𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗿: Moisturize morning and night, regardless of your skin type! Look for products with ceramides and fatty acids to nourish the skin barrier. If your skin is more oily, opt for lightweight moisturizers like gels and lotions. If your skin is dry, creams and balms are going to be better for binding hydration and moisture to your skin. My faves for oily skin? CeraVe - PM Facial Moisturizing Lotion , VERSED - DEW POINT Moisturizing Gel-Cream , and PAULA'S CHOICE - Probiotic Nutrient Moisturizer . My dry skin faves are NATURIUM - Plant Ceramide Rich Moisture Cream , THE inkey LIST - Peptide Moisturizer , and DRUNK ELEPHANT - Lala Retro Whipped Cream . • 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻: The most important step! Sunscreen is the ultimate anti-aging product, so reapply every two hours y’all. My main loves for all skin types are PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 and elta md SKINCARE - UV Clear Broad Spectrum SPF 46 . Those with dry skin, I’ve been enjoying CeraVe - Face Sheer Tint Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30 , though paler folks may prefer DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 . What’s your fave step? What extra step would you add in that’s not featured here? 👀 Keep up with the tag #Skincare101 to follow along this guide I’ll be posting to cover some basic concepts in skincare!

One Week Using Differin
Experience: I started using Differin about a week ago to deal with my maskne and dark spots. Ever since I started wearing masks more frequently, my skin has essentially freaked out. It’s super sensitive and dry, especially around my mouth, but I get cystic-like acne along the area where my mask touches my face. I decided that I was going to try Differin as my last resort before going to the dermatologist (cause I’m still nervous about going to doctor’s offices, unless absolutely necessary because of covid). The instructions recommend daily use; however, I began my first week by using it every other day since I’ve had negative experiences/reactions with other active ingredients before. Since then, I’ve begun using it every night. I use this in the evening after cleansing and applying moisturizer and Aquaphor’s healing ointment. Pros: I definitely already see a visible improvement in my skin, especially with the hyperpigmentation that I’ve dealt with. I do use other products that help with brightening, but I’ve been using those products for quite a while and haven’t seen such a drastic improvement until now. Cons: I experienced a few small breakouts around my chin, but they went away pretty quickly. I have yet to experience any significant purging/dryness, but I also didn’t jump immediately to daily use. Other Products I Use + Frequency: CeraVe - Hydrating Facial Cleanser (everyday, AM/PM) DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser(everyday to remove sunscreen, PM) The Ordinary - Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA(every other day, alternate between this and the next product/AM) The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%(every other day, alternate between this and the previous product/AM) DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream (everyday, AM/PM) DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30(everyday, AM) Aquaphor - Healing Ointment Skin Protectant(everyday, use as a lip balm and to protect sensitive areas of my skin when applying Differin)

SPF YES...there is sun in the winter too
SPF YES...there is sun in the winter too
Overcast? SPF. Cloudy? SPF. Sunny? SPF. Cold? SPF. Rainy? SPF. If the question is “should I wear spf today?” The answer is ALWAYS “YESPF”. No matter what the weather or activity you need SPF to protect your skin from the damaging rays of the sun! It is so important. I’ve got a shelf full of SPF products and they are all physical SPFs containing zinc oxide and/or titanium dioxide because that is what agrees with my skin best. I find that this particular SPF works best in winter for my skin because it is ultra hydrating and I don’t sweat through it as quickly as I do in the hot and humid Florida summers. It does have a wicked white cast especially on my olive complexion but that is quickly remedied by a pump of its best friend and accomplice, D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops. This tube lasts me forever and I do think that it’s a great sunscreen as I am able to even use it on my son and entire body. I wish it was SPF 50 just because I do like that extra protection but this always keeps my skin from ever getting burned as long as I remember to reapply. It has a thick creamy texture but it does apply nicely and I don’t have issues with pilling. I need to mix it with D-Bronzi though or I look like Casper. At $34 for 3oz it’s actually pretty affordable considering sunscreen is the most important thing you can put on your face. I would recommend this to anyone especially if you are looking for a non-drying winter SPF DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Sheer Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops

Bronzey glow + antioxidant pro
Bronzey glow + antioxidant protection? ☀️ The sun’s seriously scorching here at the moment and while I already obsessively douse myself with SPF 50, today I thought I’d ramp up the skincare protection with a dose of my drunkelephant D-Bronzi. Full of antioxidants to help shield my vampire skin, this bronze-coloured concentrate is happily also ideal for mixing with face oils/moisturisers/spf/foundation for a pretty yoga skin look; perfect for a laid-back selfcare day.

Drunkelephant famous SPF’s in UK ! ❤️
Drunkelephant famous SPF’s in UK ! ❤️
drunkelephant famous SPF’s in UK ! ❤️ I obviously had to get my hands on one of them; I chose Umbra Tinte because it has a tint and I knew I would prefer it more than Umbra Sheer, and I was right about it. (Umbra Sheer left a white cast on my skin) I love mixing it with a drop of my beloved D-Bronzi for a glowy, bronzy finish. I find it very moisturising, to the point where I don’t need a moisturiser underneath. I’m so happy it also doesn’t affect my foundation, doesn’t make me oily or irritate my skin. I also found I need to use less foundation because the Umbra Tinte and D-Bronzi just evens out my skin tone to the point where I could just use a little bit of concelear and I’m done 😃 The best method of application, for me, was to pat it on my skin instead of rubbing it, which may cause some pilling.

Hydration is what it’s all abo
Hydration is what it’s all about for me. I use tretinoin Obagi medical 2 or 3 times a week, the gold standard for anti-aging, prescription only. I do a light gentle peel pad in the mornings (firstaid beauty ) for sloughing away flaky dry skin & at night & mid day & the rest of my morning routine is dedicated to HYDRATION!! ⁣ ⁣ So here’s a few faves:⁣ I always start my night time routine with purito Centella hydration toner⁣ Speaking of Purito!! I just got BOTH of their sunscreens! One is new, the water one,, I’m testing it out today! It’s an spf 50 pa ++++⁣ Of course drunkelephant Bhydra is a staple. If you ever buy one thing from drunk elephant let it be this!! I’ve been using (before purito) coola & tatcha spf bc they’re non drying & not dewy. We have enough sweat around here to make us already dewy I don’t need sunscreen adding to the mix because then it turns into a greased pan 🤣 ⁣ And ledewbeauty for hydration mid day when it’s hot as hell and you want to jump in a pool but there’s not one to be found, that’s when I pull out Le Dew! Or the avene thermal water mist! Oh! Also, the belif Aqua Bomb is a cool gelly like hydrator that sinks in fast & doesn’t make you feel like you have Crisco on your face all day.

LRP Hydraphase UV Lotion
LRP Hydraphase UV Lotion
La Roche Posay was my gateway skincare brand. It is the brand I turned to when I first began my struggle with hormonal acne, and I haven’t looked back since. Since trying a number of things from LRP, there has definitely been one product that stands out to me more than anything else. Enter: Hydraphase UV spf 30 lotion 🤩 Being acne prone, the thought of anything with spf in it used to scare me. So I was on a mission to find a lotion that wasn’t too thick, didn’t have too much of a white cast for being a mineral/chemical combo sunscreen, and wouldn’t break me out. This lotion is an spf/moisturizer hybrid. It is relatively thin, and mixes well on top of serums and under makeup. In the summer, my favourite way to wear this is after all of my serums, mixed with a pump of DRUNK ELEPHANT - D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops . Adding any sort of tinted drops helps to minimize any trace of white cast, and left me looking so glowy and hydrated that I didn’t need much makeup afterwards other than some concealer. For all of these reasons, it is a 5/5 rating for me. It is my absolute go-to. This lotion works best for normal to combo skin, and even worked well for my acne-prone skin. It costs $39.95 CAD for a 50ml bottle. It’s main hydrating ingredient is hyaluronic acid, and is a mix of chemical and mineral sunscreens (octinoxate & titanium dioxide). This will always be my summertime go-to for moisture and added sun protection 💛

My Favorite Sun Protection Smoothie ✨
My Favorite Sun Protection Smoothie ✨
My favorite Sun protection mix! ☀️💛 . Umbra Sheer™ + D-Bronzi™ . I recently got Umbra Sheer™ sunscreen and I was really worried that it wouldn’t work well for me because of my tan complexion, so I grabbed my D-Bronzi™ and mix them until I see the right tone that I want! . The sunscreen isn’t heavy and sticky if you put on the right amount. The D-Bronzi™ has the most diverse color IMO, it will give you a sunshiny healthy glow, plus it is formulated with a barrier-supportive fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants and platinum peptides perfect for a city dweller like me who is always expose to pollution and environmental stressors 🙌🏻
