Two serums from Good Molecules that really helped with my hyperpigmentation:
Niacinamide Serum:
This is my definitive favorite from what Iāve tried. I use it every alternative day, as part of my night routine. I think Niacinamide in itself is a wonderful ingredient that does a lot of things for the skin - helps with pores, uneven skin tone, strengthens barrier and even hydrates. Those are all my major issues and I noticed that this serum really stepped up my skin quality.
Discoloration Correcting Serum:
Anybody of South Asian origin will understand when I say I have hyperpigmentation issues. I LOVE how brightening this product is and I think I could notice its effects from day 1. Thatās saying a lot. Used in conjunction with the Niacinamide serum, this is beyond amazing; something like a miracle duo for my skin.

The Old and the New...
Serums for hyperpigmentation/texture edition
The Old: The Ordinary - Azelaic Acid Suspension 10%
This serum had more of a creamy moisturizer consistency, with a bit of a silicon-like feel. I know the texture is a turn off for some, but I actually liked it.
Azelaic Acid brightens the skin tone while visibly improving skin texture and reducing the look of blemishes. It is a multi-functional support ingredient that also acts as an effective antioxidant.
The new: GOOD MOLECULES - Discoloration Correcting Serum
The main ingredient of this serum is tranexamic acid. It is also formulated with 4% niacinamide. This serum claims to improves the appearance of age spots, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and sun damage.
Iāve only used it twice, so not enough to give a review but I can say the packaging is not awesome. It is in a dropper bottle, except the dropper doesnāt work.

Mixing Lactic Acid with Niacinamide
Picking your Niacinamide:
Choose products with at least four or five percent concentrationsā which has been clinically proven to reduce pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and acne and at five percent was found to improve redness and sallowness.
Things to know when mixing Niacinamide and Lactic Acids:
When you mix them together, the niacinamide will raise the pH of the acid; the higher the pH, the less the skin absorbs and the less effective the products.
Another problem with mixing niacinamide and acid is that it can cause redness and flushing. Not a welcoming outcome when youāre trying to beautify your skin
So how do you properly layer Niacinamide and Lactic acids?
1. Apply them at different point of the day
Niacinamide is non acidic and can be used with other non acidic serums and lotions with little waiting/ absorption time. Include this water based treatment before oil based serums in the morning when youāre less likely to have time to wait.
When using lactic acids it is usually recommended that you wait 5-30 minutes for the product to absorb into the skin before applying other serums and lotionsā maybe this routine will better suit for night time or when you have more time to unwind.
2. Apply them 30 minutes apart
This way, each product have time to absorb into the skin, give your skin time to return to its normal pH and allow each product to work at its intended pH.
When layering products, start with products with the lower pH (acids), allow 30 minutes and follow with your higher pH serums like niacinamide.
The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
This is a great beginners Niacinamide that will give you great results for little to no cost. I personally use this twice a day and I find it significantly reduces an inflammation and really help with my breakouts.

Good molecules serums
Been using this bundle for a couple weeks and I have formed enough of a impression to review it.
Hylauronic acid- so I donāt think Iām a hylauronic acid person, it makes my face produce more grease because it just looks weird during the day and at the end, but hey if youāre looking to try out hylauronic then this is definitely a good way to try itās a great price point too! Like $8 I think around there.
Overnight exfoliating treatment- now I love this one especially after I wear a mask for 8 hours it does make my skin smoother and a bit brighter but you can only use it 2-3x a week and I wear a mask so often I need to exfoliate everyday I use that mask or my skin breaks out. Definitely would love if I could use it more often during the week but this was amazing I did like it a lot, worked great and was only like $12. I liked this more then the farmacy honey glow exfoliator.
Niacinamide serum- I barely noticed a difference using this. My pores looked the same, I did use it before I put a mask on for work and my acne went down a bit but not enough for me to consider using is all the time. Didnāt improve my texture or anything like that but if youāre looking to try out a niacinamide serum I recommend this one. Again super cheap and itās better to try out things when they donāt cost a lot to see if you like it or not then buying a $50 one and finding out it doesnāt really do anything.
Overall it was a good set- nice and cheap just didnāt work for my skin particularly

Great molecules
I love this serum, and for the price point how could I notš¤š. Standing at $6 this serum helps with enlarged pores, brighten your skin and help even out your skin tone. Iāve been using it for a little over a month and Iām loveš . Iāve seen a noticeable change in my skin. It looks more plump and bright and my dark spots and going away. I really recommend this product, especially if youāre on a budget. I recommend looking at the brand as a whole if youāre balling on a budget. Good molecules has high quality skin care for a super low price. All you need is a few drops and youāre good to go. This serum has replaced my Kylie skin vitamin c serum. Sweetchef Ginger + Vitamin C Serum Shot
Lets talk about everyoneās brightening bff Vitamin C serum !!! šāØ

I havenāt really tried that many vitamin c serums because after I tried the Mario Badescu one (its trash dont recommend) and had the most awful reaction ever I was basically much scarred from ever using one again. Also a lot of vit c serums are pretty darn pricy and I havenāt gotten myself to actually go out and treat myself to a good one. I picked the Ginger + Vitamin C Serum shot by @sweetchefskin (glow recipes sister brand hi ily) from Target and have been using it consistently in the am for a few weeks

This serum is only $20 which really isnāt bad for a face serum and I have really been enjoying it so far! The serums texture feels a bit tacky at first but it absorbed into my skin so well and it was easy to layer on all my other products. The smell is super subtle/refreshing and not overpowering whatsoever. There wasnāt really any immediate results which I didnāt expect but overtime it has helped with some hyperpigmentation and evening out my skin. My only big downside would have to be the dropper. It was sort of a pain to work with/ product for out, but it wasnāt that big of a deal for me. I wouldnāt say this serum is anything intense so itās definitely a good vitamin c serum for beginners that wont break the bank!

What are your holy grail Vitamin C serums? I need to try some new ones out š§”
Finally a brightening serum for my skin!
Okay so I know itās WAY too early for me to see the signs as itās barely been a day. Maybe itās a placebo effect but Iām already loving this serum SO MUCH! The issue with a lot of brightening serums Iāve used (and Iāve used alotttttt) is that my skin tends to shift in overall condition. By that I mean, Iāll have clear skin with zero breakouts and although the serums Iāve used have worked to lighten my pigmentation, I notice I tend to breakout while using them! I go from clear to MORE breakouts and then the hyperpigmentation cycle begins again!

The vitamin c serum with sea grape caviar is a favorite right now! I have combination skin - so my skin can get pretty oily but it also has dry patches and where those dry patches are-I have hyperpigmentation there... so itās just a bad combo! And I usually need extra hydration in that area. So whenever I use any serum I moisturize after and then will use some kind of oil all over my face or in the dry patchy areas! But ever since I started using this itās like I donāt even need that extra hydration! This serum is so hydrating and it feels amazing on the skin it gives you this supple, dewy, bouncy textured skin haha! Itās claims that it boosts hydration level- and it really does! So if you have dry skin I would say give this a go! But seriously itās amazing! The best part is that not only does that but it also brightens and evens out your skin, (dark spots too!), it smooths the appearance of large pores and gives you a nice glow as well! Itās affordable so itās def worth a try. Iām going to continue using this to see if it helps with brightening up my dark spots.

HERBIVORE - Bakuchiol Anti-Aging Serum
My friend introduced me to this product and since starting using this product I know this will stay in my routine for a long time. It's a great retinol product and because it's a retinol alternative it's very gentle on the skin, gentle enough for daily use.
The texture of this product is watery and jelly-like and absorbs into the skin amazingly. The main ingredient in this product is the Ayurvedic Babchi plant which this product is derived from. This ingredient acts very similarly to a retinol but very gentle and causes no irritation. There are also PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) in this product that helps gently exfoliate the skin to show a brighter and more even skin tone.
After months of use I really see a difference in my skin. It's brighter, less dull, and helps with any hyperpigmentation that I have. When used with another Herbivore product, the Prism, my skin is just glowing. These two products when used together have really changed my skin.
This product retails for $54.00 USD on the Herbviore and Sephora website. This is a steep price but trust me, it is worth every penny. For those who want something to help with anti-aging, dullness, brightness, and pigmentation you should really try this. And for those who think retinols are too harsh, you should really give this a try.
