Easy and Quick Blowout at Home 💋💁♀️✨
Hey Cherie Fam 🍒 Merry Christmas 🎁 to all! I hope 🤞 everyone got what they wanted from Santa 🎅 My sister got me the revlon one-step blow dryer and volumizer for Christmas and I am STOKED. I have been wanting this for a long time, but slept on it and never bit the bullet. I have never been more excited to wash my hair in my life. I couldn’t wait to try this! My hair is color treated so it is extremely dry. I need a high moisturizing conditioner and apply leave in-conditioners, anti-frizz and perfecting oils other wise my hair will be a nightmare. I use Unite leave in conditioner, IGK good behavior and Davines Oi Oil to prepare my hair then I use my wet brush pro quick epic dry. I section my hair and start blow drying from the bottom. IGK - Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray davines - Oi Oil unite - 7 Seconds Detangler Wet brush - Epic Professional Quick Dry I only tried this for the first time and so far I am impressed. My hair is shiny, frizz-free and voluminous. It’s not as good as how my hair dresser does it, but I’ve never seen my hair look this good. It looks even better than when I flat iron it. There are 3 settings. High, low and cool. I use high because I have thick and longer hair. However, if you have short and thin hair I will recommend using the low setting because it gets really hot. I use the cool setting after I’m done so I set my hair. Be careful and make sure you keep your hands on the handles only. This burns as hot as a curling iron. I made that mistake and don’t want you to burn your fingers. REVLON - Salon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer First impression is so far so good. I will definitely use this every time I wash my hair. Happy holidays again and hope you’re all staying safe Xoxo, Francesca 💋
IGK; Mini brand review
I did a little mini brand review on The Ordinary and I kind of wanted to start making it a series of brands I’ve tried a lot of. My favorite hair care brand hands down, aesthetically and performance wise, is IGK. This is really just a quick review of all the products. If you have in depth questions please ask 🖤 IGK - First Class Charcoal Detox Dry Shampoo - Hands down favorite product by the brand. Completely worth the $27. I can have week old, greasy hair and this turns it into “just washed” looking. I’ve had customers shocked that my hair wasn’t just washed when I use this. But it is a heavy duty dry shampoo. You can definitely feel it in your hair if you run your fingers in but it leaves no white caste once you work it into the hair. IGK - Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Anti-Frizz Smoothing Spray - I don’t heat style my hair without this. It acts as a best protectant, anti-frizz serum, and a smoothing treatment. It smells amazing and leaves my hair so soft and sleek after heat styling. IGK - Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm - it does contain coconut oil so I only use this near my ends. It has a gel balm consistency that doesn’t weigh your hair down or make it feel greasy. If you have dry ends I highly recommend. It adds a lot of hydration back in! IGK - Beach Club Volume Texture Spray - Yes! If you have a hard time getting texture to your hair this product will work great for you. Sometimes I’ll spray some at the roots if I need a little bit of volume or directly into my curls to scrunch them up a little bit. It smells amazing!! Like a beachy dream. It’s not sticky for me but you can definitely go overboard so be aware. IGK - Trust Issues Instant Scalp Rebalancing Treatment - I got this on sale because I suffer from eczema and I can have itchy scalp every once and a while and this really did nothing. I liked the cooling sensation on the scalp but it did nothing to relieve the itch like it claimed. Not worth the sale price none the less $28. IGK - Crybaby Anti-Frizz Smoothing Serum - I got this because DupeThat recommend those and I find myself never using it. It’s just your run of the mill hair serum. I have wavy, thick, and frizzy hair and it did nothing for my frizz. It was just an extra product I added to my routine I didn’t need. The bottle is cute though.. IGK - Laid Back Defrizz and Anti-Static Spray - Also did nothing for my frizz.. I got it at Marshall’s so I’m not mad but they have better products #IGK - Sold Out[products]#[FourStars] - I love using this when I know I’m going to want to wear my natural wavy curls the next day. I spray it on my hair when it’s wet, scrunch it up, and I notice in the morning they are a lot more defined. I don’t think they sell it anymore but if you can find it for a good price and you have natural curls I think it’s worth checking out.
My hair has never been softer ✨
It’s always a good day when I can add a new IGK product into my routine! They just came out with the IGK - Good Behavior 4-in-1 Prep Spray which I knew I was going to buy as soon as I could as I’m a HUGE fan of the original Good Behavior. Let me tell you, I’m already in love with this product. IGK claims this 4-in-1 prep spray detangles hair, protects against heat, controls frizz, and enhances shine. It’s lightweight, hydrates, and is safe for color treated hair. It’s great for all hair types and it costs $27 for 7 oz of product. Off the bat this stuff smells amazing! If you’re familiar with the original Good Behavior Spray it smells just like that. I use this on hair wash days after I get out of the shower. I usually wrap my hair up in a towel for a few minutes and when it’s about halfway dry and I’m ready to put products in I spray this all over. It has a non aerosol spray that evenly distributes the product over the hair. It’s very lightweight! It doesn’t weigh my hair down at all. I think it did a pretty good job detangling my hair as well as it’s usually pretty wavy and messy. When I woke up my natural curls were pretty enhanced. My hair looked lively and healthy! It’s probably the best my hair has looked in a really long time (I’m really attributing it to this and I started using a mint Keracolor clenditioner which is amazing). I came home from my shift about 9 hours later and I was amazed with how soft my hair was. It felt like I had just left the hair dressers. I don’t think it did much for my frizz as I did have some fly aways but I have fly aways no matter what so that didn’t bother me. What made me really happy was that my hair finally looked healthy, shiny, and pretty. I totally recommend this product to anyone looking for a good leave in. I love the results this gave my hair and how it ended up looking in the morning. I totally think it’s worth it. #CheriePartner

How to Survive Second Day Hair
Second day hair can sometimes feel and look the worst – but it doesn’t need to be if you manage it properly. It’s difficult making sure your hair washing days line up with your gym schedule or days you actually might have to look presentable. All you need is a good trusty dry shampoo and some hair styling tips to get away with it (I won’t tell if you don’t!).Make sure to brush out your hair! It sounds obvious but sometimes I skip this step in the mornings (and I bet some of you reading do too!). One of my favourite brushes is this wide toothed wooden comb I bought from Amazon. It’s super gentle on the hair and can detangle any knots perfectly without any tugging. I switched to a wooden comb because I noticed my hair was getting extremely static a few months ago from the previous brush I had been using which had plastic bristles. I haven’t looked back since! A good dry shampoo goes a long way. One of my favourites is this cherry dry shampoo by Batiste. It’s super easy to work into the hair, great for building volume and leaves the hair smelling fruity and fresh. It great for absorbing any grease and gives my hair that boost that it needs, leaving it feeling clean all day. Curl your hair – I’m not sure about you but I’ve realised that curls work best on second day hair (and look the best too). They just hold so much better and for longer (even without hair spray). It’s great for adding some volume back into your hair that you might have lost after sleeping on it throughout the night. Make sure to use a heat protective spray before curling with a wider barrel for looser curls. Follow up with a volumising hair spray to hold your curls in and give it an extra lift.
Easy Hair Hacks to Look Great on Lazy Days
For days when you need to get in and out of the bathroom in record time, there’s not always the option to perfect curl your hair or do a fancy updo. If your straightener is already hot, don’t turn it off. Use it to add subtle ways to your hair before you head out the door. This trick gives freshly straightened hair a little more body and volume. My hair type: I have super dry, frizzy hair. It’s naturally pretty curly but I do use heat often. I like straightening my hair but I don’t like how it looks when it lays flat. This little trick saves me a ton of time in the morning when my iron is already on. Products I can’t live without: My ghd hair straightener is one of the best purchases I’ve made when it comes to my hair. It’s around $200 UDS but I use it all the time. Plus, it’s ceramic which is more gentle on people with finer hair like mine. The Living Proof Humidity Shield ($30) works wonders for me in the summer. Once I finish my hair, I spray a bit of this to my ends and help keep the frizz at bay. How to curl your hair with a flat iron: Step 1: Start with pre-straightened hair. If you have naturally straight stresses you can skip this step! Step 2: Grab a 1-inch section of hair and wrap it around one side of the barrel of your flat iron. Step 3: Twist the iron toward you while clamping - this is what makes the curl! Step 4: Spray hairspray or a finishing spray of choice to make sure the look lasts. Bonus if you can even rock these curls tomorrow too. That’s the lazy girl’s ultimate dream!
Creating sleek and straight hair with the hair straightener
I find that one of the best ways to manage my wavy, thin, and dry hair is to straighten it before heading out of the door. Whilst it may look a little limp at times, I like how it allows me to look put together and sharper. When I was 17 years old, I also discovered this hair service call rebonding, and I have been sticking to stick-straight hair shape for the next decade. Rebonding is a semi-permanent chemical treatment that breaks down natural bonds in the hair and re-arranges them to form new bonds for straight hair. The effects last for a long time (at least 6 months) and it considerably tames down frizzy hair, ideal for those with frizzy and unmanageable hair to get a straight mane every single morning. However, in recent years, I have noticed that my hair is not as healthy as before – my natural hair is brittle at the ends and my scalp tends to flake and itch. I decided to give rebonding a break to focus on restoring my natural hair and scalp back to healthier conditions. On days when I crave sleek straight hair or when I need to look more presentable, I opt for the hair straightener. There are so many types in the market. Do your research according to which best suits your hair type and budget. The one that I have loved for a long time is the Lena LN-508 ion straighening iron. Reasonaly priced, the product has so many key features that I like -turbo ion technology to ensure that the hair is smooth, shiny and frizz-free, titanium tourmaline coating plates that reduce heat damage to hair, a one-touch control panel within easy reach for 5 different heat settings (140,160,180,200,220℃), a 360° swivel cable and a anti-scald design for ease of use, even for clumsy hands like mine. To use, first I wash and blow-dry my hair. Then I comb my hair and spray heat protectant while switching my flat iron on to 180 degrees which is suitable for most thickness of hair. I choose to divide my hair to 4 sections, left and right and then top and bottom. Place your flat iron 1–3 inches above your scalp and close the two heated sides together, with the hair between them. Straightening too close to your scalp may damage the roots or burn your scal and be sure not to clamp too firmly, as this will create a ridge at the top of your hair. Slowly run the iron down the length of your hair. Keep the same amount of pressure on the hair at all times.
How to get a Perfect Bun in under 5 min
You will need a comb, hairtie and hair spray (Use dry shampoo if your hair is oily, cause that what I do during workdays when i don’t have time to wash and style my hair) To start, normally i would smooth my hair out. If you have straight hair like me, I would recommend DO NOT USE A COMB unless you want a more polished sleek ballet dancer bun then that’s another case. If you have big hair or thick hair with big volume, you can use some water to smooth your hair off and go with a wide tooth comb. By using your hair to run through the hair, you get the a natural cozy bun. Moving on we gonna need a smoothing brush that you can get in any drugstore with fine bristles and working on both sides. You gonna comb your hair to the other side where you will be securing the hair and the backside of your hair up towards your hand. This process is to make sure that your hair is smooth back with no bumps. Finish up with a pony tail. Then twist the tail and wrap it around the base of the pony tail. You can start shaping your bun as you go during this process. Your hands should be holding the bun all the time to keep it in place. Last, secure the ends with another rubber band or bobby pin whichever you find easier. “TIP” if you don’t have long hair, don’t put if all the way through like a ponytail, instead, pulling the hair about half way through. Stop and twist the hair band and secure it. Use another hair band to secure the remaining hair along with the other half and secure it as a bun. tuck away any out of place strands back under the band, or use bobby pins (same to your hair color) to secure. “TIP” I like to pull some baby hair down around my face to make it more natural and “no so perfect” L'ORÉAL - Elnett Satin Extra Strong Hold UV Hair Spray Finally finish it off with a hair spray. and Voila, here is your perfect bun.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
