Retinoids just don’t mix well with others!
Vitamin C & Retinol: this is the biggest no no! Retinol doesn’t mix well with a lot of ingredients and it should stay far away from Vitamin C serums. Vitamin C helps to boost collagen, help the premature signs of aging, and keeps the skin bright and helps even the texture. Retinoids help with reducing fine lines and wrinkles by increasing the production of collagen. Using them together could create irritation, peeling and redness. Combining them increases the skin’s sensitivity to the sun, which means there is a higher risk for burning and UV damage. Note- as pictured since I don’t own a retinol. I believe this serum from Herbivore may mix with other serums better.
BRANDS NOT WORTH THE HYPE- GLOSSIER
All around, I haven’t been impressed with anything I own from Glossier except their signature perfume. Nothing I have tried I would personally ever repurchase. The company is started by Emily Weiss who started with reality tv and then a blog. The blog grew successfully and then the sister company Glossier was formed. Weiss asked women what they wanted and this is how she decided what to create - based off of demands. With an already large following, of course this would be a successful company. The products I have tried are: Boy Brow Balmdotcoms Futuredew Mega Moon Mask Handcream The balmdotcoms are the least hydrating balm I’ve used for my lips, however they are “universal skin salves” so you can also use them another way i suppose, but with tint and colors I find that odd to do so. The boybrow isn’t terrible, but I prefer different eye brow products with more color. The futuredew has broke out so many people, myself included, so i only would use this to apply to the high points of my face. The mega moon mask is suppose to be hydrating, however I found that it was a mess to use and didn’t really leave my skin feeling that way afterwards. The handcream is nice, but nothing special nor do i find it is super hydrating. The packaging is 100% there though.
BRAND SPOTLIGHT- KORRES
The only product I have purchased from Korres was because of so many great reviews I’ve seen. Their Greek Yoghurt Probiotic Superdose Face Mask is unreal. I no joke use it once a day or every other day. This is a probiotic face mask with real Greek yoghurt that rehydrates, soothes redness, and supports the rebalance of skin’s natural protective layer in just one use. Key Ingredients: Greek Yoghurt - Delivers instant soothing, cooling sensation with a superdose of pre and probiotics to nourish skin. (PRO TIP- keep this bad boy in the fridge! You won’t regret it) Microbiome Re-Balancing Technology - This is cutting-edge microbiome rebalancing technology clinically proven to balance your skin’s invisible microbiome to protect and relieve signs of stressed skin. Lactic Acid - A natural AHA that gently dissolves dead skin cells for a natural glow These ingredients combine to support the skin’s natural protective layer which is often broken down by stress, pollution, etc. This mask visibly addresses elasticity, radiance, and texture to help our skin stay revitalized and healthy.

Is this worth $72?!!!!
I purchased a mini kit of the Biossance Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil. The oil delivers smooth, soft & radiant skin due to its’ duo of ingredients. I personally wasn’t a huge fan of it. Maybe it is my skin type, but I find that Rose Oil doesn’t always absorb well into my skin. While the texture on this is thick and rich, I didn’t feel like my skin acted any different while using the trial size. 1 oz retails for $72 and I can’t bear to spend that to restock it. This is a pass from me.

TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 FARMACY - Daily Greens Oil-Free Gel Moisturizer with Moringa and Papaya The Ordinary - Salicylic Acid 2% Solution GOOD MOLECULES - Niacinamide Serum There have been quite a few products I haven’t been able to put down this month, so I’ll break down a list of what have been my holy grail: The Ordinary Salyic Acid Solution - This is a 2% treatment solution to help exfoliate the inside walls of pores to fight the appearance of blemishes. I apply this around my chin area because my face has definitely been breaking out around there with wearing masks all the time. Good Molecules Niacinamide Serum - My pores seem to be oilier in the summer, and I forgot what wonders it does for me. It truly helps my skin look smooth, even and my pores look smaller. Farmacy Daily Greens Moisturizer - This smells amazing and it truly keeps my skin hydrated all day. The gel-like texture is so divine and cools my face. I love that it doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky like some gel moisturizers do. Tula Protect + Glow Sunscreen - I have never used a gel sunscreen before and wow this texture is unreal. Formulated with probiotics to help lock in moisture and strengthen the skin barrier. There is pineapple and papaya to help promote even skin tone as well as Wild Butterfly Ginger Root to protect the skin against blue light!

BIGGEST MYTH- DON’T NEED SUNSCREEN INSIDE
ILIA - Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 Supergoop! - Glowscreen Sunscreen SPF 40 TULA SKINCARE - Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30 I hope I don’t need to tell you that you should have to wear your sunscreen inside, but hey let me remind you why! The sun is powerful, she emits two types of sun rays: UVA rays and UVB rays. Since UBV Rays are shorter these rays are usually blocked by windows. However UVA rays penetrates through windows. This is damaging to the skin, its collagen and elasticity, as well as putting ourselves at an increased risk of skin cancer. We also are surrounded by blue lights between our cell phones and televisions, computers. Some favorite sunscreens that tackle all three: Ilia super serum skin tint spf 40 Supergoop Glowscreen spf 40 Tula protect & Glow Daily Sunscreen Gel Broad Spectrum SPF 30

Hyped Products: A Hit & A Miss
Hyped Skincare Products.. are they worth it or not? I 100% was influenced by everyone and their mom to get the balm dot coms, which was a regret for me. However, I am already a huge fan of Milk Makeup since they first launched so I was very excited to try this, and purchased instantly. 1. Milk Makeup Moisturizer I don't like seeing this one disliked but that is probably bc I also love almost everything Milk has put out. But for my skin, I find this to be my favorite thing to use in the evenings. It's made up of "Desert Milk" (melon, baobab, jojoba, & aloe vera) to provide deep, but lightweight hydration. Those 4 ingredients thrive in an arid environment. There is also fig milk to soften, soothe & refresh. Oat milk is going to help calm and comfort our skin, while Argan milk is going to help provide antioxidant protection. She's thic but I find she soaks right into my skin! 2. Glossier Balmdotcom These aren’t worth the hype IMO. I don’t find that they keep my lips hydrated at all, it’s more of a thick coat to put over my lips. The formula of Castor Oil, Beeswax, and Lanolin does not soak in to my lips well. If I had to pick one it would be the mint because they do tingle and feel refreshed.
Amazing Kosas Blush😻
This blush and highlighter duo is a gorgeous product! It is a powder blush that adds a healthy color to the cheeks without looking too heavy. I feel that it is pigmented just enough so that you don’t need to go in multiple times, one layer is perfect. I think this would look beautiful on any skin tone, i am a bit pale but i thinks this would work for tamed skin to. This formula is also really hydrating i never have any dry patches, and my texture isn’t extremely visible which is nice! Overall, this is s lovely product! I definitely recommend it and think it’s worth the time/ price/ effort. 😊😊😊 Kosas - Color & Light: Pressed Powder Blush & Highlighter Duo

Love of my life 🤤 Bum Bum
There is no other. The consistency of this product is perfect, it sinks in the skin so smoothly. It is rich without beint thick if that makes sense. It is extremely nourishing snd leaves my skin so soft. And the scent. The beloved bum bum scent is my favorite. Take me to a tropical island because that’s what this scent does for me. It is so good. Not overhyped. It’s that good. If you are sensitive to smells you won’t like probably. I recommend forever. This is the mini 2.5oz for 20, but there is a 8.1oz for $45. Worth it. Quoted via the sephora site: “Fragrance Family: Warm & Spicy Scent Type: Warm & Sweet Gourmands Key Notes: Salted Caramel, PIstachio, Vanilla Which skin type is it good for? Normal, Oily, Combination, Dry, Sensitive What it is: A fast-absorbing body cream that helps tighten and smooth the look of skin. Solutions for: - Dryness - Dullness and uneven texture - Loss of firmness and elasticity” SOL de Janeiro - Brazilian Bum Bum Cream

Instagram’s Favorite Blush is Worth the Hype
This blush is all over the ‘Gram but it TOTALLY lives up to the hype. Tower 28 is a brand designed with sensitive skin in mind and used 100 percent clean, vegan formulas that are free from irritants. Amazing, right? Ingredients aside, the Beach Please Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm is the creamiest and dreamiest thing ever. It melts into the skin and delivers a skin-like finish. It’s so buildable and can really make a huge impact if it’s piled on. I also love that it contains green tea and aloe extract, so that means it’s soothing and hydrating—especially when used on the lips. Seriously, nothing I’ve tried blends as well as this product. I just use my fingers and it looks like the perfect natural flush. TOWER 28 - BeachPlease Tinted Lip + Cheek Balm I’ve been using the shade Magic Hour, which is a sun-kissed rosy nude that works so well as a blush and lip balm.

Milk Makeup Skincare: Hard Pass
I’d rather get coal than the Milk Makeup Watermelon Brightening Serum :/ I bought this serum a little over a year ago I want to say, alongside their Matcha Detoxifying Face Mask and Cannabis Seed Oil Hydrating Mask (spoiler: I don’t like those either!!!) and honestly I was sucked in because of the cute packaging and how portable the products were because they come in solid stick form. First of all, this product separated from the bottom and I don’t know how to get the pieces back together. Second, it literally does nothing. I used it for a good amount of time and saw no difference in my skin whatsoever: not brightened, not more even or more hydrated — nothing. It claims to diminish the appearance of dark spots using Swiss garden cress sprout extract, watermelon extract for hydration and matrixyl for smoothing. I like that it’s TSA friendly but I have no use for this product whether traveling or at home because it does NOTHING!!!! Also, it has red and yellow dyes in it which are known sensitizers for the skin and so unnecessary. The texture is nice, but another gripe I have is that it is so chubby that it doesn’t get in the crevices of the skin like between the folds of the nose or under the lips. It’s also not very hygienic in my opinion. I would definitely NOT recommend this product to others because like I said, it does nothing. It’s super cute, I’ll give it that, but there is nothing redeeming apart from that about this product. It’s not worth the time, effort of hefty $36 price tag for 1.2 oz. 0/5 (1/5 because the app won’t let me give 0) sorry Milk! Love your makeup products, though!

This or That??
My skin type: I have typically oily skin with the occasional breakout and dry spot, but my skin has been through it lately due to the weather fluctuating. It has caused my skin as a whole to be more dry, especially my lips. . The Bite Beauty Agave+ Lip Balm has a very creamy texture that makes the lip balm run around in the tube, it’s so hard to actually get the lip balm on your lips since it keeps running away from you! It can also easily fall out of the tube onto the floor since it moves around so much. The hydration only lasts for an hour tops, it’s not very hydrating. I’m not impressed with it. The function of this product is to prove long-lasting hydration (they claim for up to eight hours). I think this is suitable for those that just need a little bit of moisture, not those looking for deep hydration. This is a clear lip balm that dries clear. Price: $14 for 0.15 oz/4.2 g . The Milk Kush Lip Balm has a nice firm consistency that allows it to stay in place in the tube, so it’s very easy to use! This is a soothing lip balm that also hydrates the lips. It includes hemp-derived cannabis Sativa seed oil, Shea butter, and moringa butter. The hydration lasts for hours and I notice an improvement in how my lips look and feel. This does have a strong peppermint scent, but it doesn’t bother me. It goes on green, but dries to a clear tint. Price: $16 for 0.10 oz/3 g . Verdict: I definitely prefer the Milk lip balm because it is much more user friendly and easier to apply. The difference in the amount of hydration is definitely noticeable, the Milk one drivers a better initial amount of hydration, plus the long term benefits of hydration are also better from the Milk. I wasn’t impressed and didn’t see the hype around the Bite Beauty honestly, the Milk one was so much more impressive. I also enjoyed the green to clear color change! I definitely love the Milk Kush Lip Balm for my morning lip balm before I put on lipstick because that will help keep my lips from getting flaky and gross throughout the day better than the Bite one!
