Powder vs Aerosol Dry Shampoo
Powder vs aerosol dry shampoo. What’s the difference?! Y’all dry shampoo is having a MOMENT in the beauty industry! From dollar cheap to high end, you’ll find dry shampoo under almost every sink these days! And for good reason- damaged hair is a thing of the past! Dry shampoo can help extend your style and eliminate using so many heat tools on your precious locks. Now which dry shampoo should you choose? There are several types but the two most offered are aerosol and powder. Aerosol is a spray dry shampoo that will often have a bit more power than its powder counterpart. It will almost always also contain alcohol, which can help dry out scalp oils and leave your hair feeling cleaner. I find that the aerosol spray has a large area of coverage, yet it’s not as precise as a powder. If you like to use dry shampoo all over your head, aerosol will certainly provide the coverage! Powder dry shampoo will be either tapped into your roots, or applied with a bottle that “poofs”. Although it doesn’t have the wide coverage that spray does, you can concentrate the powder on smaller areas of your head if you have problem areas! In addition, if you hair is fine, powder could be a great option due to having fewer ingredients. It will be lighter weight in the hair and not weigh it down as much. So... what’s the gist? I truly believe it’s PERSONAL PREFERENCE! Don’t attack me now, but after much research I don’t think one is supreme over the other. Give them both a try and choose which you like best! My go-to French braid in a bun!
My hair is a little crazy! Having dry, thick, wild curls is an adventure in itself, but having those key styles to dress up a bun is so important! Today I’m sharing my go-to hairstyle when my hair is almost ready to be washed (I can only wash my hair once a week—curly girl problems) and I want it to be out of my face for work. I call it an easy French braid in a bun! Here are the easy steps to get this cute style yourself: 1. Brush your hair! Especially if you’re curly like me—it will ruin your curls for that wash cycle but since we’re at the end anyway it doesn’t really matter. By brushing our your hair it is less likely to tangle. 2. Something I like to do to add volume and texture is a styling powder. Many brands make them, but today I’m using the Redken Dry Shampoo Powder REDKEN - Dry Shampoo Powder 02 With Charcoal it’s basically a charcoal powder to soak up excess oil in your hair. Lasts forever! At $22 for 2oz it had lasted me over 6 months! My only complaint is the dispenser, I wish it was like briogeo’s, which is a aerosol-free sprayer. 3. Part your hair like your normally do, then tie up one side while you work on the other side. 4. Begin your French braid at the front of your part. You can make the braid as tight or loose as you’d like! 5. Make sure you continue along the side of your head, not the top. 6. Secure your first braid with Bobby pins and/or tie it up! 7. Repeat this on the other side. 8. Remove all of your temporary Bobby pins, grab all of your hair and put it in your usual bun. I keep mine lower on my head depending on the day. 9. Secure any stray hair or bumps with Bobby pins and you’re ready to go! I work part time at a print shop where it’s crucial that my hair is up and out of my face so I can operate heavy machinery. This is a cute style I wear instead of a boring bun 🤪 What are your favorite hair styles for your job(s)?
Can a mousse really act as a dry shampoo? 🧐
I’m an avid dry shampoo user! I try to only wash my hair about once a week because of its color. A few weeks ago I received the Batiste - Waterless Cleansing Foam Cleanse + Smooth in gratis and I decided today was the day to try it out. This dry shampoo mousse claims to mimic traditional shampoo giving it the look, feel, and smell of clean hair. You can get it at most places that carry drugstore products and it retails for $9.99 for 3.6 oz. I’m gonna say off the bat if you’re looking for heavy duty dry shampoo this is not it. I used it on almost a week old hair and it did absolutely nothing for me. My hair still looked like a greasy, bumpy mess. That being said I’m not sure it’s intended to work like my IGK First Class for example. I think it the future I would use this on second or third day hair only. This would be ideal if you’re going out for the weekend say somewhere with no water (which I’ve done before) or showering capabilities and you need a quick refresh. I think this would work perfect. Especially because it doesn’t give your hair that powder feel dry shampoos can. But if you’re looking to make this your next dry shampoo I would hard pass. It came out just like a typical mouse and combed through the hair nicely while disappearing and leaving your hair dry. I can see how on almost fresh hair how this would be helpful but as a dry shampoo it’s a complete fail. I also couldn’t detect a scent. Honestly even if I needed a refresher product in the future I don’t think I would purchase. I think I would just deal with how my hair was or being a dry shampoo. But I can see how this would be beneficial to someone who wants a quick fresher product as it drys as soon as you work it in.

You know those lazy days when you just don’t want to do your hair? OR when you’ve done your hair and after a few days the curls are still cute, but that oily scalp is pretty gross! 😱Save my oily hair in one minute!
Once I used this Living proof. - Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo, immediately I realized that my day two hair was styling better than my day one hair, even after going to the gym. It absorbs all the excess oils without being clumpy or gummy. No powder residue. It has an incredible fresh scent, don't tell anyone but I have been spraying my hair the first day of styling to get the oil absorption and fresh scent. I now keep a bottle at home and one in my gym bag. No more hair emergencies for me. Will keep purchasing because it works, really well. I have extremely fine, oily hair. I try to only wash my hair every other day and would like to go longer than that, but my hair becomes so greasy I can't hide it in a messy bun any longer. Every dry shampoo I've tried has made my hair feel stiff and somehow even more dirty. They made my hair smell nice but besides that they didn't do anything. This dry shampoo, though, has changed the game for me. You spray in in, wait about 30 seconds, then brush it through your hair with either a brush or your fingers. My hair feels almost like it does after a fresh wash. It seems to clean my hair rather than cover up the gross parts. It gives great volume, and smells amazing. I even woke up the morning after the day I used it, and my hair still didn't seem oily!! I'm incredibly impressed! I'm going to be buying this for years to come! I received it free from Influenster to test it out, but it'll be worth every penny I pay for it from now on!I was always skeptical of dry shampoo as I'm a natural brunette and didn't want it to show. LivingProof PHD dry shampoo alleviated mt skepticism. My hair feels and smells cleaner after apication. It has been a part of my standard hair care products for over a year and I've never had visible residue.

RUSHOWER DRY SHAMPOO
LIGHTWEIGHT This dry shampoo is one of the lightest but most effective I have tried. While Batiste’s dry shampoo range is a favourite to many, starting my cruelty-free journey meant I had to make a switch, and Soap & Glory’s RUSHOWER made that an easy transition. Batiste - Original Dry Shampoo Clean & Classic FRAGRANCE While the scent is hard to describe, the fragrance in this shampoo is light and very pleasant. Soap & Glory call it their ORIGINAL PINK scent, and it stays in my hair for hours after use. LOW PRICE I picked up 200mL of RUSHOWER for $11 AUD, a very comparable price to a bottle of Batiste. Without losing any money, I feel so much better about using a cruelty-free alternative for my hair which is just as (if not more) effective for me. If you’re looking for a switch, I highly recommend this product.

I tested this new Dry Shampoo from Drugstore
Do you know that different dry shampoo works different on brown hair, blond hair or dark hair? Do you notice that some dry shampoo actually turn your hair white? There is a big difference when you are using a dry shampoo. I personally have dark hair and I found many dry shampoo either ended up by turning my hair white or leaving those white dots all over my root that looks like I had a bad dandruff. Batiste - Waterless Cleansing Foam: Cleanse + Hydrate This one is a dry shampoo foam. Although I only try it once since last week I first got it, I am already absolutely obsessed with it. And Im pretty sure that I will be using it instead of all my other dry shampoos. We use dry shampoo when our hair is really oily and we don’t have time to wash it. Especially in a rush morning and you have to go out and meet someone. You may need a dry shampoo to quickly remove the oil and possibly cover the smell. What you gonna do is to shake it vigorously and spray generous amount on root throughout the hair if needed. Then you can just use fingers to brush through your hair. Massage and brush through to refresh your hair. One thing I really like about this product is that it almost have no scent to that which I really enjoy. There was a time once I got a powder spray shampoo from drugstore with floral scent. The smell was supper strong. And when it got mixed with the smell of oily hair, urrr, you can imagine what it smells like. This foam dry shampoo didn’t leave a residue and works really well on absorbing the oils. And it does add a little bit volume as well. Overall this is my first try out of foam dry shampoo. Let me know how you like it!
Batiste-Waterless Cleansing Foam: Cleanse + Hydrate
Batiste - Bastie Dry Shampoo I was very excited excited to try out this cult-classic dry shampoo that people RAVE about.... but boy am I disappointed. This dry shampoo supposedly adds texture, refuses oiliness on the hair and scalp, and DOESN’T LEAVE A WHITE CAST?!! This definitely left a white cast on my BLONDE hair even after massaging into my scalp. I really can’t imagine people with darker hair liking this! It didn’t add any good, wanted texture. And my hair was not much less oily after I used it. Keep in mind, my hair was one day hair so the fact that it looked oily after using this is not a great sign! I definitely didn’t like it, but I know everyone’s hair and skin is so different, who knows! Please comment your thoughts!!💛
