Honey in your Skincare 🍯🧡
I recently got the Honey Glow Trial Kit from Cosrx to test out, and have been using for 2 weeks now. My thoughts: COSRX - Propolis Synergy Toner - can't wait to purchase this in full size. I really want to start using more hydrating toners, and I enjoyed how this sinks in my skin in the morning before the rest of my routine. COSRX - Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule - this one was not my favorite. I didnt dislike how it felt, but I didn't notice a difference in my skin from using it. I applied this at night before moisturizer and it wasn't quite hefty enough to makes its way into my routine. COSRX - Propolis Light Cream - I lovedddd this cream. It was a thick cream, but it does absorb nicely. I used this in the morning and it worked perfectly for my dry skin! Overall, this kit was a great way to try the propolis line and figuring out what I want a full size of. I love trial kits and minis just for that reason! This Glow Kit is available for 20% off through January 4th on Yesstyle! You can also use my rewards code TARATHEESTIE for extra money off.

Correcting Dark Spots, Hyperpigmentation, & PIH
I get a lot of DMs about what to use to fade post-acne discoloration (PIH), hyperpigmentation, dark spots from sun exposure, and uneven skin tone. I have combination, acne prone skin and tend to pick at my blemishes so I’m very, very experienced when it comes to fading hyperpigmentation. Here are my recommendations, some of which overlap, and my favourite products from each category... • Sunscreen: I cannot emphasize enough that the number one way to help even skin tone is preventatively by wearing sunscreen. You can’t expect skin tone or scarring improvement without protecting your skin from UV rays that worsen those very issues you’re trying to treat. PAULA'S CHOICE - Youth-extending Daily Hydrating Fluid SPF 50 is the absolute best sunscreen I’ve ever used, though fans of mineral sunscreen may prefer PAULA'S CHOICE - Essential Glow Moisturizer SPF 30 • Acid Exfoliants: AHA, BHA, azelaic acid, and l-ascorbic acid are all variations of exfoliants. They work by ungluing dead skin cells, cleaning off the surface layer of skin, allowing new -and undamaged/normally pigmented- skin to show off bright and smooth. In-office peels will give the fastest and most obvious results, but twice a week OTC peeling serums can offer results for those with milder hyperpigmentation. DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum is super effective but my sensitive skin prefers PAULA'S CHOICE - Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Lotion due to the gentler formulation. • Alpha Arbutin: Alpha arbutin is slowly broken down into hydroquinone by the skin, offering similar hyperpigmentation improvement without the potential negative side effects. Alpha arbutin is especially good for those with melasma or specific patches of uneven tone. I personally like to use The Ordinary - Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% since it pairs alpha arbutin with our next ingredient... • Vitamin C: L-ascorbic acid is the most studied form of topical vitamin c and the most potent, though derivatives also offer antioxidant and skin-evening benefits. Vitamin c has been shown to inhibit melanin production, helping to reduce hyperpigmentation and even out skin tone. This is considered one of the gold-standard OTC treatments for uneven skin tone and is a good addition to most morning regimens considering its wonderful antioxidant properties. My favourite vitamin c is the pictured Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% serum as it’s very gentle. • Azelaic Acid: Another ingredient that inhibits melanin production! I prefer azelaic acid to vitamin c, since it’s antimicrobial which helps with acne. Azelaic acid also has an added anti-inflammatory benefit for those whose acne is a byproduct of irritation. PAULA'S CHOICE - 10% Azelaic Acid Booster has been the most effective treatment for my hyperpigmented sensitive skin!
