IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype?! Day 3
Picture 1: No foundation... Just so y’all can compare and contrast, ya feelssss? Picture 2: Layer 1! Medium coverage. Still stand by this. Very easy to blend... very breathable... and now that I reeeeally look at it, kiiiinda lighter than my skin lol! Also, note that this didn’t cover my breakout on my chin very well (same as yesterday’s post). Picture 3: Layer 2! Full coverage. Feels like absolutely nothing is on my face, if I’m being completely honest. BUT I’m not in love with how my face looks. This foundation is super matte (and I’m more into a natural finish with medium coverage), and after I put this 2nd layer on, I started noticing a very powdery look around my nose and on my chin. Kinda like I have dry patches and it’s clinging to my dry patches except I don’t have dry patches, soooo.... what’s that about, yo? 🤔 In conclusion, I think I’m done with this trial. I’m honestly not down to spend that amount of money on something I only sort of like. However, if super matte, lightweight, blendable, buildable, and breathable is your jam, go for it, girl!! The matte is just too matte for me... so I’m sending her back to her home. Toodles, IL MAKIAGE! It’s been reeeeeeeal. ✌🏼 Xoxo Xenia Oh! And I forgot to mention in the other posts: I used a sponge to blend my foundation out, in case anyone wanted to know. 😊 Products used on my face: 💁🏼♀️ Primer e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer

I got new makeup that I’ve been dying to try, so I thought I’d share my thoughts of them with you! Ulta beauty matte primer- I usually use the elf poreless putty primer, but this was really good! It has a nice silicone feel, and it blurs large pores. I wish it came in a bigger container, but it was nice and cheap. Milani foundation- medium coverage, pretty cakey. It has a stronger fragrance than I was hoping for. It accentuated the pores around my nose area. I’m not in love with it, but it’s overall pretty good. Maybelline instant age rewind concealer- this concealer has been talked about a lot recently, and it really is AMAZING. It’s really full coverage, but it also looks natural. And it’s only $7, (I think). Revolution baking/setting powder- This is a nice, loose setting powder, and it does a really good job of mattifying your face. It’s only $10 which is a really good price, but it does have a little flashback. Physicians Formula ultimate butter collection- physicians formula has amazing butter bronzers, highlight, blushes and eyeshadows. I like that it has shades that would work with any skin tone. It’s a little bulky, but it has a mirror, and would be great for travel. The only thing I don’t like is the lip palette. The lip palette is really weird, because it doesn’t have really have pigment, but it doesn’t have the texture of a balm. Also, when you put it on, it has a very strong, and odd flavor. Kind of like plastic. Elf clear eyebrow gel-I mainly got this because of how cheap it is, and I love elf. I got this in clear, and it comes with two sides, a brow side and a clear mascara side. It is pretty nice, but it makes your brows and eyelashes really crunchy feeling. This would be perfect if you want something subtle. For the price ($2), I would recommend it. Wet n wild mascara- It’s okay. The brush is a little to big for my taste, but it’s good for how cheap it is. Revlon lipstick- I got this lip shade in Bare It All, and it is REALLY pretty. It has a really creamy consistency, and I will definitely be getting it in different shades. Would definitely recommend it! Kylie Cosmetics high gloss- I usually don’t buy things this expensive, but it was so pretty, that I decided to go for it. I got the shade Always Shining, and it’s reallyyyy pretty. It looks good alone and with lipsticks. It does have a very strong taste though, so if you want something tasteless, this is not for you. $16 for a lipgloss is pricy, but I’m so glad I bought this! Note: I have Keratosis Pilaris, also known as chicken skin, so if you notice bumpy parts of skin on my face, please ignore them. Thank you!
DUPE! ❤️Stila glitter eyeshadow dupe!
Hi guys !! I tried this nice glitter liquid eyeshadow from elf and it’s fantastic. It’s like Stila but way less expensive. However they have just 4 or 5 colours, this one is 24k golden. I also used the setting spray from urban decay and it’s my favourite ❤️ it lasts all night/day and when you touch your face, it’s safe ahahah no makeup comes out! I did this make makeup for stay at home today (believe me) and for try my new products, also for give a nice review for you guys :) ❤️ Xoxo e.l.f. - Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow lURBAN DECAY - All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray Eyeshadows from bh - Sylvia Gani 22 Color Shadow Palette Foundation from The Ordinary - Colours Coverage Foundation with SPF 15 Primer wet n wild - Prime Focus Primer Serum and e.l.f. - Illuminating Primer Mist Eyebrows e.l.f. - Clear Brow & Lash Mascara

e.lf. Skin Hit Kit: The Review
I LOVE skincare with CBD and hemp and when e.l.f. dropped the e.l.f. - Skin Hit Kit I just about jumped out of my sheet mask. I didn't wanna buy the products individually because that would be super expensive, but then the mini size sample kit was dropped and here we are! For 15$CAD you get the e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream e.l.f. - Calm Balm e.l.f. - All the Feels Facial Oil e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer That's alot of product for only fifteen dollars! Now the part your probably reading this for, the review! e.l.f. - Calm Balm I love lip balm. Like so much, hydrated lips are so important. Their what people look at, what people kiss and i personally notice dry cracked lips before someone's skin blemishes. There's no smell to the lip balm and it goes on super smooth, like butter. Key ingredients being hemp seed oil and sunflower seed oil. My lips defiantly felt more hydrated, the balm retails for 5$CAD and it will be in my next e.l.f. order for sure. e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer This is a makeup primer that is used before applying makeup, it preps the skin for the day ahead. Now I don't prime my face before applying makeup since i don't use foundation or anything. I didn't wanna waste the product so i still used it. I noticed it has vitamin A and C listed on in ingredient list and thoes are know to help brighten the skin's appearance. I use it in the morning before I apply SPF. I haven't noticed anything different but im not using as the product was intended for. This retails for 8$CAD and i will not be repurchaseing e.l.f. - All the Feels Facial Oil I have recently gotton into facial oils and i was excited to see e.l.f. had released a hemp one in the collection. It has a slight faint smell to it, i can't quite make out what it is but upon rubbing in the smell disappeared. It felt light on my skin and absorbed like any other facial oil i have used. It does have squalane in it which is known to help imporve moisture and elasticity of the skin. The website says it can be added into foundation for added moisture and radiance. This face oil retails for 12$CAD and it's iffy if i will be repurchaseing it. After a couple more uses i will know for sure e.l.f. - Happy Hydration Cream I love a moisturizer with "hydration" in the title and this product is most definitely hydrating. It's a semi thick white cream with no smell, almost feels like a gel when i first put it on my face. it took a little bit to get it fully rubbed and absorbed into my skin but my face felt soo hydrated after that I'm willing to look past that part. This moisturizer has Vitamin B5, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide This retails for 12$CAD and most defiantly will be a repurchase!
🧝🏼♀️Which primer is best?🧝🏾♂️
As you can see, I have a love hate sort of relationship with Elf primers. I’ve tried a gamut of types from sticks to sprays and dewy to eyelid. You think I’d have learned that Elf primers aren’t my thing and to stay away, but I recently got another in a travel kit featuring their new line of hemp oil products and figured I had enough players here to initiate a fair fight. When looking at these I’ll give my overall star rating, but I also want to comment on 🧝🏾♀️Texture 🧝🏻♂️Layerability and 🧝🏿♀️Effect for each. e.l.f. - Shadow Lock Eyelid Primer This primer is overall a strange matte texture that dries on my eyes, revealing the creases under my shadow. I actually don’t recommend this one at all, even for the price. 🧝🏾♀️Texture: dries sheer but is matte and cracks 🧝🏻♂️Layerability: eyeshadow stays in place but looks dry and cakes if you apply more than a couple layers 🧝🏿♀️Effect: gives eyeshadow a dry look e.l.f. - Oil Control Primer Mist I’ve talked about this one being a good most for pre-exercise but besides helping foundation or BB cream stick, that’s all I ever use it for: sweat control. 🧝🏾♀️Texture: it’s a spray that dries tacky. This gives it good hold but it makes your face feel dry and tacky without anything on top. 🧝🏻♂️Layerability: it holds foundation and BB cream well with no caking and does control oil, making it a good choice for oily skin. 🧝🏿♀️Effect: overall, you wont look dewy with this primer depending on whether you layer it. It’s good for controlling sweat or oil but it’s not impressive. e.l.f. - Prep & Glow Face Primer Stick This one is too glowy even for my skin. It goes on sheer but feels like a balm on your skin that won’t soak in all the way. You could wear it alone if you just want a dewy look but it makes me look oily. 🧝🏾♀️Texture: this goes on like a balm and is sheer but it doesn’t feel like it ever fully soaks in this making me feel oily. 🧝🏻♂️Layerability: be wary that layering dewy products over this will make your face shine like Apollo’s ass. It’s a little too sticky to layer well with my products. 🧝🏿♀️Effect: it doesn’t blur enough for me to wear it alone, but it really does make you dewy. If your skin is drier than the Sonoran Desert, this may work for you. e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer This is my new holy grail primer. This stuff blurs your face, fills in pores, and holds makeup with a dewy but soft texture. I love this stuff and was blown away how good I looked with just this primer on. Finally Elf has come through for me! 🧝🏾♀️Texture: this stuff is thick and heavy (I use a dot for my whole face) but blending will make it smooth and soft on your skin. 🧝🏻♂️Layerability: this made my BB cream look 10x better than it ever has. No caking, no dry spots with strong hold. 🧝🏿♀️Effect: This legitimately made me look retouched. It’s amazing. Hope this helps! 🧚🏻♀️

Il Makiage IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS was all over my Facebook feed and I love foundation....sooooo, yes, I caved and bought it. Their marketing is pretty compelling. I had to try for myself. I currently use Lancôme Teint Idole and mix in a bit of Sheiseido Perfect Refining Foundation. It’s a pretty awesome mix that I’ve stuck with for years. With that said, I’m always open to trying new products. Details..... Il Makiage asks a series of questions to match your color. It comes with a foundation brush and specifically says not to apply it with your fingers. That’s how I apply my foundation so the brush was new for me. The verdict? I like it but I don’t think I’m in love. The color is really good. The brush applies it nicely. What else can I say? It didn’t blow me away and I was really hoping it would. It has a nice medium coverage and it looks pretty smooth and natural. I guess I was hoping I’d be a little more glow-y and fresh looking. Maybe I’m expecting too much?? Disclaimer, I’m almost 44 so I’m not sure if any foundation can give me back my perfect skin of the 20’s and 30’s. What do you think? Is the color match good? Does it look like I’m wearing foundation? I’m on the fence to keep it or send it back. What else is on my face? Skincare - Herbivore Pink Cloud cleanser, Herbivore Rose spray, Clarisma Cali Dreaming Cream Moisturizer, The Ordinary Caffeine eye serum, Rooted Sensitive Brightening Eye Cream, Hourglass Veil mineral primer. Makeup - Il MakiageIL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS , Sephora cream concealer on a couple spots, IT Cosmetics bye bye undereye concealer, Nars Orgasm blush, Covergirl Total Tease mascara, Almay eyeliner in copper, tiny bit of Bare Minerals mineral veil on my tzone, Medicine Mamas Bee Magic on lips, clear wax on brows.
Il Makiage got it right!!!
So after seeing this foundation on my feed for well over a year I caved and took the plunge for the 2 week trial (truthfully my bestie gave in first and i had to try it too, lol) The fist shade they sent me was way too lignt but their customer service is on point and after sending them a selfie in natural light they sent me an almost perfect match. This picture was taken on my day off after playing with my toddler, cleaning house, frying chicken for supper and wearing it for over 8 hours. I snapped this right before I did my nightly skincare because I was amazed at how beautiful it still looked. I'm going to use it again tomorrow when I head back to work and have a 12 hour day booked. If anyone is invested I can post again and see what happens after that 112 hour mark!!

This is my everyday makeup post, or it used to be before quarantine and I put makeup on once a week 😂 Below I’ll be listing products enjoy! ✨ FACE✨ COLOURPOP - Pretty Fresh Hyaluronic Hydrating Primer I’m obsessed with this primer it’s the consistency of a serum goes on super smooth and dries beautiful 10/10 would recommend CLINIQUE - Even Better Foundation Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 this is medium coverage which is great for me but I know some people look for higher coverage. But this has been my go to for 2 years. NYX - HD Studio Photogenic Finishing Powder I usually switch through translucent this one has lasted me pretty long and though I do like you have to be carful and really blend it. BECCA - Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter I use the color opal I got this for free from ulta it’s lasted me a year so far and no signs or emptying its noticeable but not crazy ✨EYES✨ MORPHE - MORPHE Liquid Liner I recently switched to morphe from nyx matte eyeliner and I still haven’t decided which I like better. Nyx is easier to apply for me but I feel like morphe lasts. NYX - NYX Retractable Eyeliner This one I use for my water line, I usually reapply once in the middle of the day but it never smudges LAURA GELLER - Glamlash Dramatic Volumizing Mascara I’m almost out of this stuff but it does wonders. I didn’t curl my eyelashes here because I didn’t feel like it. I set it all with urban decay all nighter URBAN DECAY - All Nighter Ultra Matte Makeup Setting Spray Enjoy! ask me any questions. I’m by no means a professional I just love makeup and skincare 😊

How to achieve flawless base makeup ☀️☀️
During the summer months, I rarely wear makeup. And when I do I prefer it to feel as light as possible! My preferred makeup look is dewy and glowy as opposed to matte, so I use all cream products for my base. For my primer, I have been using BECCA - Backlight Priming Filter Face Primer . Honestly, I could wear this product alone and be happy with it! It provides a natural shimmer and slight coverage and really makes you glow! After applying this primer I apply my Glossier. - Perfecting Skin Tint with a damp beautyblender - Classic Makeup Sponge Pink . I have absolutely RAVED on this product before but it really is the perfect face product for summer. The coverage is light to medium, and doesn’t feel like you are actually wearing makeup at all. It hides any redness I have while still allowing my freckles to peek through! These two products help me achieve a natural, glowing look for summer that I have been loving! #CheriePartner

This makeup and hair was inspired by Audrey Hepburn in “Sabrina.” I have always loved Audrey’s simple yet sophisticated makeup looks, and her trademark bold, straight eyebrows. “Sabrina” is one of my favorite films, just for the gorgeous costumes and makeup looks alone.
