Say “bye bye” to St. Ives forever! ✌🏼
Alright, Q&A time! Who here has tried the St. Ives scrub? 🙋🏼♀️ Who here noticed a positive difference in their skin after using this scrub? 🙋🏼♀️ Who here believed this scrub was a game changer and possibly recommended this to multiple friends? 🙋🏼♀️ Alright... What about....... Who here realized walnut shell scrubs are actually harmful for your skin and can cause micro tears that can worsen over the years? 🙋🏼♀️ Who here did research and learned that your skin is actually quite delicate compared to the rest of your skin on your body and that your skin needs to be treated with lots of extra TLC? 🙋🏼♀️ Who here knows now that we need to use chemical exfoliants instead of physical exfoliants? 🙋🏼♀️ Okay, nowwww.... Who here is trying to find a product to replace the St. Ives scrub in their bathroom? Because I found a pretttttttty dope replacement for y’all. 🤗 I’ve been using CeraVe’s SA facial wash in place of my St. Ives, and the results are pretty similar... but better because it’s waaay more gentle on your skin! Buckle down and do some research, sis! This could be the answer you’ve been searching for 🥳 Hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask down below! Xoxo Xenia Oh P.S. SA stands for Salicylic Acid, so if you’re sensitive to BHAs, use with caution. Always, always introduce new products gradually into your skin care routine and/or patch test before using. 😘

IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype?! Day 3
Picture 1: No foundation... Just so y’all can compare and contrast, ya feelssss? Picture 2: Layer 1! Medium coverage. Still stand by this. Very easy to blend... very breathable... and now that I reeeeally look at it, kiiiinda lighter than my skin lol! Also, note that this didn’t cover my breakout on my chin very well (same as yesterday’s post). Picture 3: Layer 2! Full coverage. Feels like absolutely nothing is on my face, if I’m being completely honest. BUT I’m not in love with how my face looks. This foundation is super matte (and I’m more into a natural finish with medium coverage), and after I put this 2nd layer on, I started noticing a very powdery look around my nose and on my chin. Kinda like I have dry patches and it’s clinging to my dry patches except I don’t have dry patches, soooo.... what’s that about, yo? 🤔 In conclusion, I think I’m done with this trial. I’m honestly not down to spend that amount of money on something I only sort of like. However, if super matte, lightweight, blendable, buildable, and breathable is your jam, go for it, girl!! The matte is just too matte for me... so I’m sending her back to her home. Toodles, IL MAKIAGE! It’s been reeeeeeeal. ✌🏼 Xoxo Xenia Oh! And I forgot to mention in the other posts: I used a sponge to blend my foundation out, in case anyone wanted to know. 😊 Products used on my face: 💁🏼♀️ Primer e.l.f. - Puff Puff Primer 💁🏼♀️ Foundation IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS 💁🏼♀️ Brows ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade e.l.f. - Clear Brow & Lash Mascara

IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype?! Day 2
Okay, so today I tried the foundation alone. No blush, bronzer, highlight, setting powder, concealer, setting spray, etc. Just primer and foundation. Just to see how it this B works solo, ya feel?? Here are my thoughts: 🗣 She hella matte... like too matte for me (can kinda see on picture 2) 🗣 She definitely medium coverage 🗣 She feels natural 🗣 She still blends like a dream 🗣 She cannot conceal my blemishes (picture 2) 🗣 She still $44 😂 Still debating on keeping her or returning her. 🤔 Please share your thoughts below! Xoxo Xenia

IL MAKIAGE — worth the hype??
Who else is getting this ad pop up on their feed?! 🙋🏼♀️ Well, guess what!! I caved!! LOL! Here’s my first impression: IL MAKIAGE - WOKE UP LIKE THIS $44 ($5 trial price. If you like it, you keep it and the full price gets charged onto your card. If you don’t, send it back and that’s that!) Pros: 🥳 Hydrating, natural finish 🥳 They got my shade right (though I was highly, HIGHLY doubtful they would because the quiz was so lame, lol) 🥳 This beautiful B HAS A PUMP!! 🥳 This blended out soooo seamlessly 🥳 Buildable coverage* Cons: 🤔 Medium coverage (which I honestly prefer, but could be a con for some of y’all) 🤔 *So I’m not one to aim for full coverage, but I attempted to apply a little more product on my discoloration and current breakout and the foundation separated where I attempted this. Something to keep in mind 🤔 The price! I’m not a big fan of foundations or make up to be over $15 lol but maybe this isn’t a con for y’all 🤷🏼♀️ Just to clarify, this is a first impression. Will update down below. 😁 Xoxo Xenia On my face: Primer: L'ORÉAL - Infallible Pro Glow Lock Primer Works well for the most part. Ingredient alert: dimethicone! Holds the make up in place, but takes a while to set... or maybe it’s just my skin rejecting this B? Concealer: smashbox - Studio Skin Flawless 24 Hour Concealer Goes on and blends flawlessly... then creases. I’ve tried applying extra moisturizer/eye cream; I’ve tried baking; I’ve tried just setting it with powder; I’ve tried not setting it. I’m open to suggestions. 🥺 Blush: MILANI - MILANI Baked Blush Beautiful, pigmented... still trying to figure out how to apply the right amount if you can’t tell. Lol y’all makin’ me blush to👏🏼day👏🏼!! ☺️😂 Highlight: MAYBELLINE - FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter Love! Though super glittery. 😬 Eyeshadow: tarte - Tarteist PRO Amazonian Clay Palette Applies and blends out nice. Dark shades aren’t so dark. Glitters are beautiful! Mascara: L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Primer Definitely helps make my lashes look longer and thicker prior to mascara application! I just dislike an extra step. Lol L'ORÉAL - Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Love this!! Lashes multiply, thicken, and lengthen! Buttt, the formula is too wet and my lashes lose its curl. (FYI: I have long, straight lashes and need to curl prior to application.) Brows: ANASTASIA Beverly Hills - Dipbrow Pomade FAVE!! Eyeliner: IL MAKIAGE - Inkliner Nothing special here... felt tip liner that applies patchy and smudges when I smile. Typical for me with how my eyes work. Lips: it Cosmetics - Vitality Lip Flush in Reviver Lipstick Stain FAVE! e.l.f. - Lip Plumping Gloss Not the best, doesn’t necessarily plump. But I personally like it! Love the cooling affect.

Step 1.5: Masks (Jelly Edition) ❤️
ANDALOU NATURALS - CannaCell Glow Mask Claims: 🧐 Hydrate skin 🧐 Soothe distressed skin 🧐 Exfoliate and dissolve dry surface cells to restore complexion and bring back your natural glow When to use: 💁🏼♀️ Once a week, PM 💁🏼♀️ When your skin feels like it needs a little extra somethin’ somethin’ What I love: 😍 My skin feels so soft after I use this 😍 When I wake up the next morning, I’ve noticed my skin looking smoother, plump, and glowing from within (not oily lol) 😍 The ingredient list! (Though there are some essential oils at the very end of the list, so if you’s a sensitive B, patch test this baby first!) What I follow up with: 💆🏼♀️ ISNtree - Green Tea Fresh Toner New hydrating toner I’m trying out. So far so good! And the ingredient list on this one? SIS 👌🏼 💆🏼♀️ The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% and The Ordinary - Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 . LOVE both of these!! ‘Nuff said. 💆🏼♀️ VERSED - PRESS RESTART Just started using this retinol serum/lotion... Haven’t noticed anything significant just yet, but I’ll update y’all on this one. 💆🏼♀️ PACIfICA - Wake Up Beautiful Mask and one drop of The Ordinary - 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil Absolutely LOVE this combo to hydrate! My thirsty A face thanks me for this one every morning. Lol Heads up: 🙅🏼♀️ Sensitivity to essential oils 🙅🏼♀️ Tingly, warm feelings are created on the face from this product when first being applied 🙅🏼♀️ Scent is very earthy, hemp-y Let me know if you’ve tried this one out and your thoughts on it 😊 Xoxo Xenia

Step 1.5: Masks (Clay Edition) ❤️
Masks. It’s like a spa day at home, honestly. I loves it! I only have a few I truly love and will recommend, but I can also review the ones I’ve tried, but didn’t stick. Anywhoooz, here goes the first: Mr. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Mask Hot dang, you got a long name! I’ll try to be more organized and objective with my review and less story telling and subjective. Been browsing this app and found those reviews to be a tad bit easier to read, naaaamsayinn? When to use: ☹️ Skin feels SUPER congested ☹️ PM; no more than once a week (it can get pretty irritating, I only use once a month tbh) Claims: 🤔 Cleans deeeeep into your pores 🤔 Men love it, too! (Try it out with your SO lol) How to use: 💁🏼♀️ Get some of this magic dust 💁🏼♀️ Mix with water or apple cider vinegar 💁🏼♀️ Paint onto problematic areas (I like doing my whole face) 💁🏼♀️ Wait 5-10 minutes for sensitive skin, 15-20 for normal. 💡TIP: If it’s your first time, wait 5 minutes, see how your face reacts, then the next time you use it, add on 5 more minutes. Don’t just jump into the 20 minute deal! 💁🏼♀️ Soak a wash cloth and put it over your face to loosen the clay, then gently rinse off 💁🏼♀️ Pat skin dry 💚 Follow through with the rest of your skincare routine. I personally like to go aggressive with my treatments (what I means is AHAs and such) because I feel like my unclogged pores are ready to accept the extra treatment. You, however, should listen to what YOUR skin is telling you you need. She might be needing something different than my skin needs. Things to keep in mind: 🧐 It’s best not to let it completely dry 🧐 Redness immediately after mask is normal 🧐 Do NOT use metal anything when handling this magical clay dust (it interferes with its magical properties) 🧐 It WILL make your face pulsate 🧐 You should always end your skincare routine with a very hydrating moisturizer after this mask Hope this helps! This wasn’t entirely objective, butttttt you’ll live. 🤷🏼♀️ Lol! More mask reviews to come! 🤗 I love me some masks! What are your experiences with this mask? Was this review easier to read? What are some masks you like? I love trying new masks! Talk to me! COVID has deprived me of human interaction and I’m an ambivert leaning extrovert at the moment and I is dyyyyyyyying. Lol 😩 Okay byeeeeee. 😎 Xoxo Xenia

Do you know your skin letters?
As a fan of psychology, I’ve always been intrigued by the Meyer-Briggs Personality types (I’m an ENFP✨). So when I came across this the Baumann Skin Types I was so excited to break it down. What you need to know: 📍(D)ry vs. (O)ily: After you wash your face how does it feel afterwards (throughout the day)? Ive posted about how to find your skin care type, but this is really important to understand. (Sorry for my fellow combo babes but you have to pick a side!) 📍(S)ensitive vs. (R)esistant: Do fragrances trigger you? Do you find certain things give you rashes? Do you experience abnormal redness? Then you’re a sensitive skin type. On the other hand if your skin is resilient then lower concentration of products don’t have a big effect on your skin and you can withstand a lot of ingredients. 📍(P)igmented vs. (N)on-pigmented: Dark marks or hyperpigmentation? You’re a P Even skin tone? You’re a N 📍(W)rinkle-Prone vs. (T)Ight: If you’re wrinkle-prone, you will notice various fine lines and well.. wrinkles, then you’re a W. If you’re tight, you have a overall smooth complexion. So you’re a T (When deciding this, remember sun exposure, age, genetics, ethnicity, and other habits are important.) So after this little review my letters are: ✨DRPT (Dry Resistant Pigmented Tight) #13 My skin is currently more on the dry side (due to the weather and my amount of actives). It’s also very resistant because fragrances, and other skin allergens do not bother me. I’m definitely pigmented (acne scars and extra melanin) and my skin is overall tight ( I only have a few fine lines under my eyes that are really genetic and lack of wearing sunscreen) What’s your letters ? 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
Next level lip gloss
This is the best plumping lip gloss I’ve ever used but it doesn’t sting or feel sticky whatsoever! I got the maybelline lifter gloss in the shade topaz and it smells like sweet vanilla :) MAYBELLINE - Lifter Gloss With Hyaluronic Acid

Drugstore dupe for my favourite foundation!
Dupe Alert...❗️❗️ The Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation has some striking similarities to one of my favourite foundations the @itcosmetics your skin but better CC + illumination. Even the packaging has a very similar resemblance. After trying out the Maybelline Dream Urban Cover for a couple of weeks I can say that this drugstore foundation is definitely a great dupe for the It cosmetics your skin but better CC. Both of their consistencies are pretty much the same and they both have an SPF of 50 which is great for protecting your skin during the summer months. This foundation claims to have antioxidants that benefit your skin by protecting it from certain environmental stressors. Like the it cosmetics foundation it provides great coverage and also includes skin benefits. MAYBELLINE - Dream Urban Cover Foundation SPF 50 What I love about the Dream Urban Cover is that it doesn’t have a scent to it like the IT cosmetics one does it’s also a fraction of the cost of the IT cosmetics CC. The Maybelline foundation retails for 9.96 Canadian at Walmart and the IT cosmetics foundation retails for 52 Canadian which is quite the price difference for a very similar product. I’ve gotten a similar wear out of both these foundations and if you want my advice I would save your money on the IT cosmetics one and go for the drugstore option instead, your wallet will be thanking you later. Also the Maybelline foundation has a larger shade range of 21 shades and the IT cosmetics one has only 12 shades to choose from. Have you tried this foundation yet? Will you be ditching the IT cosmetics one for this cheaper option? 😘🌼☀️

Super skincare combos!! ❤️
I keep this chart handy when I have certain skin issues! My favorite pairing on this chart is...... Retinol + Niacinamide 💞💞 These two were absolutely made for each other!! Niacinamide can help reduce the redness and the irritation many experience when using retinols. Niacinamide can also enhance retinols therapeutic effects!! Here is how to make the most out of this match! Use niacinamide twice a day for a couple of weeks prior to starting treatment with retinol. Continue to use niacinamide as a ‘buffer’ during treatment with retinol. Niacinamide and retinol can be used together with a five-minute gap between application but are likely to be just as effective if you use them at separate times of the day. If you are applying niacinamide and retinol together at the same time then it is best to apply the niacinamide FIRST if it is in the form of a serum or LAST if it is in the form of a moisturizer. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily when using retinol (you should be using sunscreen daily anyway). If you aren’t using sunscreen honestly there isn’t really a point to try and combat anti-aging etc. If you are new to retinols, it’s best to start by using once a week and you can work up to more from there. Especially if you have sensitive skin ❤️ What’s your favorite pairing from this chart? 🤔
THE Most Underrated Skincare Brand 🏆
I have sensitive combination skin that is acne-prone. I was dealing with a lot of hormonal acne as well but I’ve finally gotten it a bit more under control but do get breakouts and acne scars still. I’m also very sensitive to fragrance. Recently I bought a few products from Krave and I never plan on going back. They don’t have the fullest range just yet but the products they do have are total rockstars in affordability and ingredients. 🌱 Krave is all about taking a clean break. There are a lot of misconceptions and nasties in the skincare world that are not needed and not smart. Krave is all about taking a break from that and resetting. Here are my current favorites: ✨Great Barrier Relief Serum $28 for 1.52 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Tamanu Oil, Safflower Oil, Rosehip Oil, Vitamin B3, Ceramide These ingredients are for skin regeneration, hyperpigmentation, anti-aging, brightening, acne-fighting and generally repairing a damaged skin barrier. This serum is turning into an all time favorite between the ceramide and niacinamide ingredient list. I actually use this after a lighter Vitamin C serum during the morning on my mask area and I think it’s been really helping to create a barrier and prevent breakouts from constant mask wearing. This product is great for mimicking your skin’s natural moisture barrier so it’s great for skin that needs help from too many actives, sunburn, etc. ✨The Beet Shield $20 for 50ml 🔑 Key Ingredients: Beet root, Allantoin, Vitamin C, Resveratrol and EGCG. This daytime fluid has ingredients that overall give skin antioxidants, prevent signs of aging, soothe skin, fight free radicals, reduce pigmentation, reduce blemishes and moisturize. This is a chemical screen that is very lightweight. It doesn’t leave skin sticky or leave a white cast. It also has Vitamin C which I love! I feel like using this and their serum has maintained my clear skin even with the mask. Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser $16 for 4.05 fl oz 🔑 Key Ingredients: Matcha, hemp seeds, oats, almonds, Vitamin B5 and Sodium PCA. ✨This cleanser is stunning. It is highly hydrating and skin barrier friendly. This can be used morning and night and a little goes a long way. The normal amount I’ve used in the past covered my fave, neck, chest and back so I’ve been able to use less by using this product as well. It doesn’t strip the skin and packs a gorgeous punch of antioxidants and hydration while cleansing. Perfection. ♻️ You can also choose carbon offset shipping for $1 more when ordering from them and the products come in a 100% recyclable carton with no excess fillers.
