Battle of the Cleansers! 🧼 PART TWO
I have so many cleansers I had to make two posts about it! Here’s the second half, be sure to read part one for the other cleansers I reviewed. MY SKIN: Dry, crazy sensitive, prone to redness with a few breakouts here and there but nothing crazy. DISCLAIMER: This is just my personal experience with the products and I by no means speak for everyone’s experience. Maybe you love these products, and if they work for you, that’s amazing! If they don’t, I hope you find something that does! But if you haven’t and are looking into any of these products, I hope I can help you make an informed decision. Thanks! fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash

The ONLY cleanser you NEED
This is hands down the best cleanser I have ever tried! It is gentle on the skin, removes makeup, excess oil, and grime. It is a lightweight gel formula that lathers beautifully! This is the first cleanser I have tried that does not leave my skin feeling stripped after washing. I have very sensitive skin and Beste is very gentle. It is perfect for all skin types. I highly recommend it! 💦
Drunk Elephant- The Littles 🐘
I won this cute little kit in a raffle & I couldn’t be more thankful! I have always wanted to try these products but never wanted to spend the money on all of them incase I didn’t like them! Inside this kit are the following products: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser Deluxe Sample DRUNK ELEPHANT - B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Protini Polypeptide Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream DRUNK ELEPHANT - T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum DRUNK ELEPHANT - Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil DRUNK ELEPHANT - Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 That’s literally a whole skincare routine! So far I started out my day with one of Drunk Elephants infamous “Face Smoothies” I washed my face with Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser & then combined C-Firma Day Serum, Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil, & Protini Polypeptide Cream together on my mixing trey with a disposable skincare spatula! I applied it all over my face & neck. Once that absorbed, I applied Umbra Tinte Daily Defense SPF 30 over my face & neck & was done! I love how the kit comes with steps to walk you through different routines you can use in the morning or at night! I will do a follow up review after I have used all the products for a few weeks! But so far, my skin feels & looks great! I have been breaking out lately & haven’t felt the best about my skin so I really needed this pick me up!! Thank you for reading! You guys are the best!! ❤️ @cherie@Cheriebeauty@CheriePick

3 Exfoliators for Clear, Smooth Skin
Using the right exfoliator is a must for removing dead skin cells and revealing brighter, youthful skin. These are three of my favorites! Each has a similar function but are diverse in the sense of usability. Fresh Beauty Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash is gentle enough to use daily and functions both as a face wash and exfoliator. Basically, a 2 in 1 for those looking for a multi functional product. Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant is also gentle enough to use daily but is a rice powder that is activated by water to gently exfoliate skin. I love it because it works for all skin types and is great for sensitive skin without compromising on effectiveness. Fresh Beauty Umbrian Clay Exfoliator - this is one you’ll want to use twice a week. The Umbrian clay helps purifies pores to a max while exfoliating skin. dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant Exfoliator fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash fresh - Umbrian Clay Pore Purifying Face Exfoliator
My current favorite exfoliating face wash! 🍓✨
I recently found out about this fresh sugar strawberry exfoliating face wash. One of my friends recommended me this during the summer so I wanted to try it out for a while before giving my final thought about this. I’ve really been enjoying this. I have combination/dry skin. I have a really oily forehead and nose but my cheeks and chin are really dry, plus on my dry areas I tend to flake a little if I don’t use good moisturizers. Since it is an exfoliator I don’t use it everyday, I use it 2-3 times a week. I really like that the exfoliating “beads” are sugar so when you use it on your skin they slowly dissolve instead of staying in tact and over exfoliating and making your face overly sensitive. This smells kinda sugary but not an overpowering scent. It has pieces of strawberries in it 🍓. It’s not scratchy on my face so when I use it it doesn’t hurt. It always leaves my face super smooth and moisturized on my dry areas and doesn’t strip my oils on my oily sides too. After I’ve used this it always helps my skin absorb serums and moisturizers really well. Make sure you don’t rub this right under your eyes since that area is very sensitive, also don’t rub this on your closed eye lids, the WHOLE eye area is very sensitive. Just use an oil it or any soft cleanser. If you’ve always wanted to try this out, strawberry cleanser AND the soy face cleanser duo is on sale on Sephora’s site for $19! They’re both 1.6 oz. definitely a value set. 🍓🍓✨✨ The strawberry cleanser on its own for 1.6 oz is $15! fresh - Sugar Strawberry Exfoliating Face Wash #cheriepartner

YTTP Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser This stuff is so great! I’ve been breaking out lately and my regular oil cleansers just didn’t cut it. I think my skin might just be purging because it wasn’t used to so much oil but who knows. But this definitely helped get rid of a lot of those breakouts. This is also so gentle it didn’t strip my skin which honestly shocked me because a lot of “gentle” cleansers absolutely kill my skin. But this is super! I read from someone’s review on here that this is an oil based cleanser according to the YTTP website but I couldn’t find out if that was true or not 🤷🏻♀️
Current morning & night routine ☀️🌙
Hey beauties! I wanted to share my current skin routine for morning & night, since I've updated it with some new products that I'm enjoying and it's been working for me. Hope it works for you too! :) ☀️Morning: 1. I typically don't wash my face since all I did was sleep and I do this routine pretty soon after I wake up. So the first step is really to use almost a whole pump of OLE HENRIKSEN - Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum on my whole face 2. Then I use about a dime sized amount of myKiehl's - Ultra Facial Cream 3. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom goes on my lips - I prefer either fig, birthday, berry or coconut 4. Volia! That's easy :) 🌙Evening: 1. Cleanse my face in the shower using a half pump of YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser 2. After my shower, I sometimes use my facial roller (it's SEPHORA COLLECTION - Rose Quartz Facial Rollerand Idk what to rate it as since it's the only one I have) 3. Next is the serum - depending on what's the issue; if it's acne:Glossier. - Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector, redness and/or irritation: Glossier. - Super Pure Niacinamide + Zinc Serum, or just feels ok / needs a little something to smooth out or be more hydrated: TATCHA - The Dewy Serum Resurfacing and Plumping Treatment 4. If I want to use an eye cream, I go with the Ole Henriksen banana bright eye creme from this set: OLE HENRIKSEN - Let's Get Luminous Brightening Essentials Set it's a half size one and the set is only $40 5. Glossier. - Balm Dotcom again because it's hydrating enough for me (yes my lips do get dry since they're a little chapped when I wake up, but I don't think I necessarily need a lip mask) 6. Of course, the last step is a facial spray, and it's always my Avène - Thermal Spring Water Spraybc I can't live without it. In case you're curious, the total price for my routine is $363!! (that includes all the products I mentioned) 🤯
Farmacy’s gentle cleanser from the gods 👼
Officially my favorite cleanser 🚨 I am an absolute Farmacy stan and this is only the third product I’ve tried from them. If you have dry or sensitive skin or both then this cleanser is super beneficial! The cleanser has: Coconut sugar and amino acids which helps remove make up and oil in a gentle way. Hyaluronic acid provides deep moisture. The honey blend is great for moisture and antioxidants. The botanical blend (turmeric, aloe, calendula) just to name a few. These ingredients are great for redness, inflammation and soothing the skin. My skin is dry but not sensitive. I use this cleanser in the morning and at night because it’s super hydrating and my skin feels moisturized and not stripped even after it gets off the dirt, oil, or make up. It has a gel like consistency but it’s not thick. To me it smells like beeswax and it’s not at all perfumey. A little bit goes a long way, I only use one pump on my foreo mini and it cleans my whole face. It comes in two sizes, a 5 oz that’s $28 and a 3.4 oz for $22. I got mine from Sephora :) Cruelty free! 🐰 10/10 hell yes I recommend 🐝 ♥️
FARMACY-Clean Bee Ultra Gentle Facial Cleanser
THE HOLY GRAIL!!
After using makeup wipes for most of my life my skin was dead! It stung when ever I used the wipes and I ended up waking up with makeup still on my face! This saved me... Claims: Refreshing, gentle, dissolves makeup+impurities with no oily residue afterwards My thoughts: This was recommended to me at Sephora, and damn it works well! I use this whenever I wear makeup- it gets rid of all of it! It even removes stubborn eye makeup such as waterproof eyeliner and mascara. It smells just like a spa! It soothes my skin and makes it feel very refreshed. This product is AMAZING!! It removes ALL makeup. Would highly recommend, all of their claims are met!🥳👏 It’s also apart of of “Clean at Sephora”!!
boscia-MakeUp-BreakUp Cool Cleansing Oil
The cleanser for all
You’ve heard the YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser raves about, so here I am adding to the fanfare! This cleanser is super duper gentle on my dry skin which I love, but still leaves my skin feeling clean. Plus it smells like a yummy green juice! Should you try this? Yes, if you have a face you need to try this. It’s magic for all skin types! This cleanser has green tea which is perfect for dry, irritated or inflamed skin. But you can definitely use this with oily skin too as it leaves your skin feeling super fresh, clean, and not too oily. It does a great job as a second cleanse and helps remove any leftover makeup and oil. I’m a big fan of YTTP in general because they are ethical in their model. They donate to a lot of organizations important to me and are a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community. They are a CF and vegan brand as well so no animal testing or animal byproducts for all the animal lovers out there! The glass bottles are 100% recyclable and they offer a large refill bottle as well which is great! The bottle also makes a cute vase as well 😏

Gentle exfoliation cleanser
reflekt - 1 Daily Exfoliating Face Wash Some notable ingredients in this product include hyaluronic acid, biodegradable jojoba beads, a vegan collagen, and vitamin B5. This cleanser IS exfoliating so to me that means it’s used as a second cleanse, not as a makeup removing cleanser and since this physical exfoliation is so gentle I can see myself using this about every other day. The beads in this are so small and don’t feel abrasive at all. My skin feels clean and refreshed after using. I also really enjoy the dispensing menthod, you just twist the top and squeeze it out instead of having to remove the cap which is what I initially thought would happen.

Slaai or Green Clean - what’s the better balm?
Hey friends! This post is a head-to-head comparison of two lovely cleansing balms. I’ll choose a clear winner below, but I want to hit on the most important aspects of a cleansing balm and why I like one more than the other. Keep in mind I have sensitive, dry combination skin! Both of these products are marketed to all skin types. The products are: DRUNK ELEPHANT - Slaai Makeup-Melting Butter Cleanser FARMACY - Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm Price: Farmacy Green Clean: $34 for 3.4 Oz (pictured here is the limited edition jumbo size) Drunk Elephant Slaai: $35 for 3.88oz, plus a tube of exfoliating bamboo and charcoal powder (pictured here is the midi size) Scooper: Farmacy: comes with a scooper that does not affix to the tub or fit inside the lid of the tub. DE: comes with a magnetic scooper that affixes to the top of the tub. Scent: Farmacy: smells like animal crackers or lime sherbet DE: has no smell; maybe a medicinal scent if anything Formula: Farmacy: uses sunflower + ginger root oils DE: uses virgin marula oil Ease of application: Farmacy: takes less effort to melt into an oil DE: takes a little extra TLC to completely melt When adding water: Farmacy: turns into a visible milky cleanser and washes off easily—skin feels tight afterwards DE: turns into a clear milky cleanser and leaves a light residue on the skin—feels nourishing and ready for the second cleanse Cons: Farmacy: burns my eyes, gives me blurry vision DE: no cons Overall thoughts: So I purchased the jumbo green clean WITHOUT testing it first (bc I’m a DUMMY) and I regret not buying a full size Slaai. While the Farmacy Green Clean is nice and does a good job removing SPF and makeup, I can’t use it on eye makeup or around my eye area because it burns the absolute heck out of my eyeballs. The Drunk Elephant Slaai is all around a great first cleanse step and preps the skin for the second cleanse without stripping it. If I had to recommend one over the other it would be Slaai 100%. Have you used either of these cleansers? What are your thoughts?
FARMACY-Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm
indie lee Rosehip Cleanser，Brightening Cleanser. Indeed, those two look quite similar. Both products contain a blend of natural ingredients and completely avoid synthetic chemicals like parabens, phthalates and sulfates, so it's ideal for all those who like their products clean, sustainable but still look stylish. However, it’s quite different experience with Rosehip cleanser when using the Brightening one. The former is still the best when it comes to hydrate and smoothe out the skin; I would still recommended it for dry sensitive skin. It also smells different. The strawberry oil in the formula gives the product sweet candy scent that provides a little extra mood boost. Not only that, strawberry also known as natural exfoliant to brighten and even out the skin. It's claimed to renew and revitalize skin with free-radical-fighting lycopene which is a natural pigment found in red-colored fruits like tomato. It's a strong antioxidant that 10x more efficient than beta-carotene to defend against some of the factors of skin aging and to avoid inflamed skin. I use this for a morning cleanse and the second part of a double cleanse at night. It has a light gel texture that can foam slightly once it's in contact with water. Don't expect soap style lather. It rinses clean and does the job to remove dirt and sebum without leaving any residue. It leaves my oily skin in a comfortable but slightly dry state that is ready to receive the full benefits of any skincare that follows. It's very kind and gentle to my skin barrier, I notice that my skin feels a lot more balanced and less sensitive. Having said that, I didn't personally experience any brightening effect.

My Mental Wellness Improved Through My Self AcceptanceWhen I was around 13 or 14 years old, I remember routinely taking one of my older sister’s black eyeliner pencils before school every morning. I’d arrive early so that I could slip away to the girl’s bathroom to apply a single black line to my eyelids. My parents didn’t allow me to wear any makeup at the time. Although this smudgy line on my eyelids didn’t make me look all that much different, I never felt comfortable at school without it. My teenage mind convinced myself that I needed some sort of cosmetic symbol in order to appropriately express my femininity. Up until that point in my life, society had told girls that looked like me - tall, Black, and with kinky hair - that we somehow weren’t as beautiful as the other girls. For far too long, I believed it too.Feb. 17
